One of the best things I can advise is to allow yourself to be patient when you're trying to play online in this game. That goes for a lot of games that has a small remaining active player base. It is what it is, right? Mk8u is already the least popular version of Mk8 by quite a bit, and on top of that you need to install a number of mods on your wiiu just to even play online on fan servers that not everyone will be even aware pof existing.

Like, when I've got time, I literally will just sit in an empty WW lobby for hours while I do something else on the side.

Also probably worth paying attention to what time of day the activity on the servers peak,that way you can plan around that time and more likely have people to play with

Got curious the last 24 hours and wanted to see if modding in 200cc into timetrials was possible (and also see if firehopping mechanics can be restored with 200cc handling). This is only a potential mod that may or may not be realized in a user-downloadable mod. It would inject 200cc into timetrials, and could also allow for Firehopping to still be possible, as it is something that was patched out of MK8U for 200cc only. Maybe a bit niche, but I think it's fun.
