First of all, I can see that this project has a lot of love and effort put into it.
So, that said, I want any reader to know that my message is written with love for that effort, as an amateur developer it's my dream to make something like this myself so.
Secondly, I am by no means an expert critic, but just someone that has been gaming for over 25 years now. 😂
I really love the character art style in this game, and I can respect the choice of having the character creator in the way it is. I do not need to see new armor pieces on my character, having a character set makes it recognizable, and transmog can always alter that later.
The characters fit in well with the world, and the enemies fit in well with both as well. Art wise, this game doesn't do under compared to big names like for example the Zelda series.
The feel is lacking though. I think the sound could use some touches. There are very loud abnoxious horns, which are okay, but those could for example be replaced to be used when you start an encounter with an enemy and be set on a cooldown, so it doesn't fire repeatedly. Besides that I am missing footsteps, and ambience. The space whales could have actual whale sounds which are always mesmerizing for example. I do love the drums, but they lack balance, the regular beat is fairly continuous, and then they suddenly smack your ears unnecessarily loud.
There is no real tutorial that gets you familiar in the start of the game. Things like this are often seen as hinders by players, but the lack of it is seen as incomplete.
