#Thrustmaster TX FFB fade
55 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I have spoken to some of our Discord members and even on Direct drive wheels they experience the same fade, but to a lesser degree, because they have higher nm forces
I got the following from Thrustmaster "Could you please redo the update to version 58.06 and test if it works correctly now, since the console firmware update on September 27" and have updated the firmware on my Servo Base and the Xbox Series S. I tested again last night with the AMG GT4 @ Zandvoort and although the FFB is stronger it still feels like you only have 40% FFB from turn 6 to turn 10
@tender inlet This is happening at every track now, and FFB was fined before v1.9.3.1 since then either the 2nd or 3rd sector has little to no FFB on both Thrustmaster and Logitech wheels.
On Thrustmaster?
Yeah
Just tried at Indianapolis and still the same. I knew the Logitech 920 could only do 100hz. Never realised the Thrustmaster TX was the same.
When I first start a session then I can do 7-8 laps with good FFB and the it drops out either in the 2nd or 3rd sector. If I return to pits and go out again it fine for 2-3 laps and then drops out again.
Also this only started happening after v1.9.3.1
@tender inlet I have tested all 4 frequency setting, none of them are any difference to the fade
That was new for me...
Is there any info what frequencies should be used for different wheelbases?
I've used 400Hz for TX and haven't noticed any FFB fade so far (mainly 30 min sprints).
At some point there was total loss of FFB but that's been fixed.
Maybe I could try different Hz's just for testing though.
Xbox Series X btw.
@tender inlet I have deleted my save file locally and in the cloud and even uninstalled and reinstalled. Am I the only person experiencing this problem?
It does seem that way yeah
@tender inlet I was testing again last night and I think its the Dynamic Damping that drops out in those sectors.
Console does not have Damping only Dynamic Damping
Your wheel has it built in though
@tender inlet control panel only applies to PC. Not console
I forget you can't configure wheels on Thrustmaster the same as Fanatec
@tender inlet How do I get good FFB?
@tender inlet In case you think its my servo base, I can play Project Cars and Forza Motorsport for hours with out any FFB problems. There fore this problem has to be some in ACC. Honestly I don't want to play ACC atm, it is very difficult to be consistent over a lap when you can't feel the FFB for 1/3 to 1/2 the lap.
I would suggest turning the gain up. I would also suggest keeping an eye on your FFB setting in the HUD. Adjust the gain until it's almost maxing out during corners.
@tender inlet I can’t set the gain over 85 or the FFB is red as soon as I turn the wheel. It took 8 laps and then same problem. Some corners feel like driving on carpet.
@tender inlet I though you said console now feels the same as PC. But console is broken yet again.
If the FFB in game is clipping then it's almost certainly not the game
@tender inlet How can you say that if you don’t even play on console?
@tender inlet So the fact that I played Forza last night for 2.5 hours with no FFB problems, but I can’t even play ACC for 30 mins without FFB problems means my wheel is the problem?
@tender inlet I suggest you try ACC on Xbox and then come back and tell me it fells exactly the same as on PC.
Put minimum force to 0 dynamic damping to 100 and road effects to 0.
Turn the gain down a bit as well but that depends on car and castor
My current setting are
GAIN - 85
MINIUM FORCE - 0
DYNAMIC DAMPING - 100
ROAD EFFECTS - 0
Gain seems really high to me, my t300 I ran at 55-60
And my dd pro 55-45 with everything else as you have.
If I went higher on the t300 for sure I would get fade pretty quickly
I was running 70-75, but @tender inlet wanted me to go as high as possible
I saw that, and that did confuse me🤣 try it lower, you actually get better feed back and hopefully no fade,
If the castor is high in the set up don't be afraid to lower to around 45-50.
Try it, hopefully it will work
Going to be testing lots of cars tomorrow
Good luck, I hope this sorts it
I wanted to test if the gain would cause the peak in game or not. That way I know if the game is sending the information or not
@tender inlet It must be the game, because if I go into the pits the FFB is back for 2 laps and then goes away again, go in again and same thing. Also it’s not the whole lap, only 1 sector.
If it was the game I would have thought more than just yourself would be affected
@tender inlet Tested the Aston Matin V8, 2022 Audi and the 296 Ferrari and then still have the same problem. I also tried setting the steer lock to 620 for the AMG, but still the same problem. It’s as if the FFB detail that you feel from the wheels just turns off. You can still feel curbs, but corners feel vague.
@tender inlet I am going to open a ticket with Thrustmaster
It does sound like a wheel issue to me, especially considering there are a lot of T300 wheel users in the community that aren't experiencing the same issue you are.
@tender inlet I am desperate, you can't help me and I suspect TM is going to tell me it's ACC and I am going to be left between the Devil and the Deep blue sea. I know that some of my friends on DD wheels experience similar drop out, but not everyone wants to report bugs. We lost another member this week to PC and he said ACC is some much better on PC. But I am sure that is the strategy, make the game shit on console and then people will go and buy it again on PC.
T300 is for PS5. I am on Xbox Series S, therefore TX, which historically has not had the FFB fade issue that T300 has.
It would be a pretty dumb strategy if that's what we were doing. Especially considering the time, money and effort being put into console...
What settings did you use for each car
GAIN 80
MIN FORCE 0
DYN DAMP 100
ROAD 0
@tender inlet You were correct, it was the TX servo base. I returned it under warranty and they send me a new unit. I received the new Servo on Friday and have been done approximately 15 hours this weekend in ACC and everything works. I apologise for my previous comment about the game being shit.
