Quite an old one, still a missing feature. At end race/session/whatever, the standard replay function “offers” last two laps only.

So I've spoken to the devs quite a bit about this one, it's basically down to the limitation of console, because of how much storage each replay would take up if it was uncapped the replays have to be capped in file size. This sadly won't be changing.

How is it that I can get a full race replay in GT7 on the PS5 with exactly the same storage limitations?

Especially on an external hdd

Some options. 1) Cap the replay size, but increase the cap so it covers most regular races. 15 minutes? 20 minutes? 2) Allow the user to set the cap

@peak thunder since the latest xbox patch that went out to fix the dashboard issues .. xbox users have saved replays over 30+ mins a few screenshots have been posted in the main room

Maybe it's unintentional but if that code could be isolated and copied into the ps5 version it would help..
30 min replays mean we could cover a race in 2 or 3 save files?

Just a thought...

Ps5 - post patch update..
Replays now save much longer...
This is dependent on the amount of cars on track though it seems 👍

What you see happening is that ACC has a running window of replay length and this length grows as less cars are on track. So this suggests that there's a maximum length of the events that can ben registered. I'd be fine if the replays are cut up in different pieces as a workaround. If we can combine that with my other suggestion (https://discord.com/channels/408202433181777920/1081220212092833943) about the amount of slots, we're really getting to a good place of functional replays!

Would be great if we could just get a really raw answer of the limitations so we can help think of workarounds or other solutions. I know xbox limits their own video (yes not the same) captures unless an external disk is connected. Is it the xbox SDK limiting the amount of data you can write? Can we also utilize external disks for this perhaps? can we break them in parts perhaps? exclude them from the synced cloud data? etc etc
