whenever I go to select a level and press host lobby, the game freezes immediately after I click " host lobby". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but that did not help.

Could you try joining another persons lobby and see what happens?

it has not happened before, I just decided to try the game again after not playing for a while. it has been atleast a year or so since I played/ hosted a lobby.
would this freezing have anything to do with me not granting GTFO.exe access to my camera/microphone?

No but just as a precaution turn off in game vc, windows might be iffy ig
Check if logs were made also, could be showing smth

actualy, it looks like i fixed it by blocking access to the microphone/camera!
