Hello
My friends and I have a problem. They often don't see each other in the lobby or during the game. They see the actions the other person is doing, but they don't see each other. At the same time, I consistently see the two of them and they see me, problems arise only between them.
I saw a discussion that talked about disabling the GamerFirst IV application, but none of us have such an application.

What you have is just a ghost player (Not really a 'ghost', but it's easier to explain with this vocabulary). It happens when someone desyncs on your screen but still is existing. They either:
a) Don't exist on your screen anymore, but can still do things, or;
b) Stands still at one point on the map, and is unable to move on your screen, but they can still play.
Remake the lobby to fix it
we tried to recreate the lobby many times, restart the game, change the host, but it didn't help
Where are your friends playing from?
If they're so far away they constantly desync from each other, then it'll happen constantly
Or if their connections are bad
The netcode doesn't like high ping
Just curious, what level are you having this problem in?
They live in the same city very close. Yes, and if there was a high ping, I would probably also notice the changes, but I see them clearly every time, they only have problems with each other.
It may be that they will still see each other, but each other’s equipment will not be displayed in their hands. This is pure chance, depending on your luck. But in most cases, they still failed to see each other.
Is one of them using a VPN?
we checked, none of us had VPN turned on
Well, its either that their specs don't like each other, packet loss, high ping (just bcs you have good ping with them doesn't necessarily mean the two of them have good ping with each other, too bad you can't just see what their ping is), etc. I'm leaning on their specs not liking each other.
Give this a moment to sit in the forums, maybe someone more knowledgeable will come along in an hour or two.
For this problem, when they check the map, can they see the other player somewhere on the map? Try to tell them to look for the other near the starting area if they can't. The arrow should be on the map if its desync.
Today we tried many times to make them see each other. There were different situations. Basically, at startup they simply do not see each other. On some occasions we were seen, but without equipment. There was also a case today when they saw each other's models and could inflict damage on each other through them. We achieved this when we tried to connect one of them after starting the game (after cage drop)
Hey @sick moat this is just desync, isn't this?
If they dont see each other it could be their ISP not liking P2P connections AFAIK
Any idea how to fix that, cause I sure as hell don't remember.
Not really, no
wouldn't this affect other games then? because the problem arose only with GTFO
P2P games, perhaps yes, again I said "could", all I can do is speculate
Only other thing that comes to mind is a very old bug that has to do with AsusGameFirstIV.exe that I've heard fucks up the game's connection
In that case people just had to terminate the exe and restart steam and it worked
I understand, and thanks for trying to help, I just want to understand more clearly too
yes, I saw it, but they don't have this app. We couldn’t figure out what other application could have influenced it
me and my friends have this same issue and i believe it has something to do with the specific network they are on. the friends in question are at the same college and both use college wifi. try having one of your friends use a data hotspot. unfortunately that is the only solution we have found so far.
