The backend fix would likely have just been to allow the system to grant the new vanity items as rewards, not to restore anything. But I can't speak for 100% certain as I'm on vacation and not sure what was talked about (but this is most likely it, as I don't want misinformation spread)

That was a result of them being rewarded two of the new vanity items that were supposed to release with ALT 5 but their ID's mistakenly got added to the pool for a very short period. So now that their client knows about those new items, they are seeing them pop up. But it's not any free reward.

Feels easy, but it's hard to say if that's just that OG wasn't that hard or if it just spawns less.
Did they fix the drops?
They fixed the new drops, but still no decision on those few that got lost in first 2 hours of release (first A clears, basically)
Going through the whole reset grind for 2-3 drops per unfortunates doesn't seem to be worth the effort, so they might settle for a different solution
But so far no conclusive decision either way, reset is still on table as a nuke option.

Newer players are bad though, especially in R6, and the game somewhat encourages them to get in over their heads by advertizing A1->B1->C1->D1 to be the intended initial progression.
C1 and D1 also have confused identities. They are simultaneously trying to be proper C and D-tiers while also trying to be introductory-friendly, which leads to them being both fairly underwhelming and overly oppressive at different parts of those levels.

I tried R5B1 yesterday and it’s a pretty hot contender, I think if they add some more varied enemies to the D1 reactor in alt it’ll come back to my favorite
And R7E1. the reactor itself is solid
R4D1 now I've figured out how to not get the run on waves I really like
It’s just the same problem as R6D3, you got to go through a shit ton of stuff to get to it

the stealth part is just SLOW

they nerfed that on OG like a couple of days after
wouldnt it be better for the player base so they are busy lil bit more?

it's not like bhops instantly made it inherently easier or less risky to clear rooms
like yeah if you're great at the game there's tech you can use to quickly clear, but that's skill expression

All the back and forth in R5A3 is an example imho

I was going to say, making alarms charger only and removing fog repellers seems to be cropping up often enough

The charger/giant striker zone with 2 scouts became charger/giant charger/cscout zone
swapped out a zone of regular enemies for charger variants
or well, I can't remember what all the enemies used to be but

like yeah they're changes but they feel kinda boring + hel weapons vs chargers
