i first believed we were on the surface of the planet
due to not knowing what planet we were on
I mean, it depends on general distance
is it confirmed we are on earth?
Depending on how extremely far the planet is, you could starmap the night sky onto ours
Garganta is on earth.
alright
tip of mexico to be exact
"Red Alpha" is not it's real name, but a coined name -- we don't know.
That's the place we jump to.
But yeah, we're in the Chicxulub Crater in Yucatan, Mexico.
It has very similar physiology to earth though, which is very interesting
Like, sandstone rocks and the like, it could easily be in arizona tbh lmaoooo
planets have been found to be like earth before
i believe there is one in another solar system we found a time ago
forgot the name of it but it was 5 years ago i believe
I personally believe that we bend space-time to get to where we go, and that we use a quantum tether to keep Garganta/Earth and Red Alpha in the same time-space.
i think your right
Even though it's a massive distance from one to the other.
And I believe it to be the case because of the audio log that states "I sent watered plants over, I check on them, it looks like they've been dead for months, even years."
I’m in the boat of your not actually tethering time
OH, I assumed that was because of the aridity
i do not believe we can control time
Nah, they were in a very protected container.
That’s a very good point
They sent it a week before the researchers jumped themselves.
i believe it to be a simple teleporting device
how though can't truly be specified
which, i'm kind of ok with
Are you familiar with how quantum entanglement works?
I won't go into the nitty gritty, however there is a theory that through quantum entanglement, you create a quantum tether.
And that tether ties two protons together, and keeps them together even though they might be trillions of lightyears away.
Those two protons stay in the exact same time-space as the other.
Oh lord we don’t actually know how long bishop survived on that planet
so you believe that this has happened enough times to create a literal hole to jump from one location to the other?
The way I like to explain it in a very simple way: imagine there is a quantum tether from your left ear to your right ear. If I were to put a little dot on your left ear lobe with a marker, the same exact dot would appear in the same exact place on your right ear at the exact moment that marker touched your left ear.
Even though the marker never touched your right ear, it still affected it.
Not quite
say i was to move further away from that area?
would that take me away from the entry point?
this is actually a really good observation.
It's not that you're in two places at once, it's that both protons experience the same state regardless if one is affected by another force or not.
Basically meaning:
Those protons, no matter the distance, would experience the exact same time-space.
Lmao. It's very, very, complicated.
alright
I don't know if I fully understand it myself, but I'm trying my best.
One thing i will do is throw a curveball
It's a very niche portion of quantum physics.
Explain how we go back into that area when picking up datacubes?
The data cubes actually interact with the MWP. There are slots in the MWP for those cubes.
AH!
Exactly how it all ties together.. I don't know, I never really thought about it.
Now i get ya
yep
However, Stokes does mention the data cubes as anomalies and how it interacts with the MWP.
In an audio log.
I would say look more into it
i think it will explain more if we can link it together
Perhaps.
doesn't hurt in trying
I'm all for it. I need to sober up from this edible before I do, though. I won't remember it in the morning.

Ever since I moved to Chicago, I didn't know what I missing out. Now my brain power is becoming tenfold what it once was.
I can theorize MORE.
YES!
But yeah, i kinda like what i'm hearing
although i will say, it's not all about the details
I'm telling you, fi you're a lore junky like I am, this game is the epitome of lore hunting.
Oh, punk
And interpretation.
Funnily enough this is my first time actually Lore Hunting
you asked about the blue veiny creature that someone sees
Hey, it was my first game to lore hunt too!
Schaffer's mimic, right?
Schaeffer?
That's the only one I know of.
Yeah
Blue eh?
I just thought you’d be interested in the skin paleness, as that’s usually connected with collagen mutations
Oh, man, Shadow let me LINK YOU THESE AUDIO LOGS, MY GUY.
Blue right?
I personally have one, makes my skin strechier and more see-through, giving more view to veins/blood vessels
There’s something else in here. I hear it, footsteps in the tunnels. In the walls, I hear it. Growling but not… not like one of the creatures. It… it tries to talk. To anyone, to no one but it’s using a voice that… that doesn’t belong to it. The words make no sense. I… I saw it once: White, blue veins under paper skin, so clean. Almost human; almost. It was covered in dust or maybe a powder or ashes. From a… from a fire… Yes… a fire. I remember the fires. Outside from the person who was here before me or is that a dream? A mountain of bodies on fire. Smoke blocking the sun. The dead and twisted… [sobbing] This is my fault. It’s all my fault! There is more than one. At first, when the creatures heard it, they tore it apart. As they ripped into it, it kept talking; trying to speak. It had no fear. Now the creatures don’t see it anymore, it walks through them like a ghost. If it has no fear it can’t be one of us. Next time I see it, I’m going to kill it.
"Blue veins under paper skin, so clean. Almost human; almost. It was covered in dust or maybe a powder or ashes."
the part about keeping garganta and red alpha in the same time space seems like a good theory, but I also think an important thing about the quantum tether is that it is probably a direct link to the people that the MWP transported, so they can be transported back.

Ctrl+F --> SC3-3BF-03 (Found in R6C2)
Ctrl+F --> SC3-1BG-98 (Found in R6C2)
Just gives those a listen.
Paper Skin, within the parasite report it may have a link there
That's how it would work, yeah. It's a gateway, so to speak.
A two-way street.
Blue veins makes me want to link it to the spitters
they carry a blue like substance
liquid
So read/listen to that first one, then listen to that second one I mentioned.
I think it'll come together a bit more.
I mean i don't think there's reason to believe this but, what if this was someone undergoing transformation of becoming a sleeper?
or is it simultaneous?
It's possible, however I think it's more of an evolution of the Sleeper.
Listen to that second log and I can explain my theory on it.
also, the observation you mentioned about the plants withering away, seeming like they have been on red alpha for months, could have something to do with time dilation. however, time dilation actually generally slows things down for the observer, so it does not really make much sense that the plants, once sent to red alpha, seemed much much older, years older in fact. It is probably possible to calculate the amount of dilation occurring. @subtle verge
it would be very easy if we had the plants in front of us
Well if we knew how long the plants seemed like they were on the planet for, and how long the observer (people on earth) thought they were on the planet for, it might be possible to get a general idea.
when the creatures heard it, they tore it apart. As they ripped into it, it kept talking; trying to speak. It had no fear.
when the creatures heard it, they tore it apart.
The creatures being the sleepers
Did you listen to the 2nd log?
Earth put them there the week before jump
and they seemed completely desecrated 'as if they had been there for months'
I have now heard the second log and i'm now on edge
that's fucked xD
Notice how it seemingly has very practiced sentences, then notice that it doesn't answer any of the questions that Schaeffer throws at it. My theory is that it doesn't actually know how to speak like we can or really even understand communication, but it works like a parrot or lyrebird in the idea that it can mimic sounds as either a defense mechanism or a predatory mechanism to lower the guard of it's prey.
My thought process goes along the lines of: it's a new subspecies of Sleeper. It's familial pheromone is either different or masked, as it can "walk through them like a ghost," which makes me think it can secrete a pheromone that makes the other sleepers unable to detect it as it travels.
Hence why the sleepers originally attacked it.
Hold on
And it may or may not have some form of regenerative ability to it.
it very well could be
remember that with the clicking, the vocal chords were fucked beyond recognition
sleepers 'smelling' or tasting their prey would be interesting
there's echolocation
there is
It works both ways, actually, which is really interesting. If a tether is 'cut' from one place to another, time would speed up for both places if you look at it from both perspectives.
That is true
i was thinking the same thing
if it can slow down
why can't it speed up?
If you look into the subject itself the vocal chords of the body itself are shredded by the parasite while the transformation process occurs
The problem that makes me struggle with this is 'how do the sleepers know where you are'
For example: If I were on Red Alpha, you were on Earth, time would speed up in between us, even though your second and my second might be the same. I could look at Earth and see that it's fastforward in time by 10 years and it would be 10 seconds to me. And it would also appear that way to you. 10 seconds for you is 10 years for me, etc.
I think this would be simple
I was thinking that maybe it was the vibrations within the ground
kinda how some insects understand movement
We can notice that sleepers don't have eyes. There could be 100 different variations to answer this question, really.
I stand on the concept of pheromones.
You're not
Like how ants and bees work.
Humans secrete pheromones, as well, but we can't detect it like they can.
Ok, i'd like a basis off tht
What parasite goes off of pheremones?
Because there was a way of efficiently killing sleepers by sprint jumping, so the game only counts the steps on the ground as actual steps, allowing you to jump in mid air and keep moving
and hitting your hammer against the floor wakes them up
it also explains why when you get close they ping aswell
The only one I can think of are nematodes.
And I'm going off the basis of what we see Scouts secrete when they scream.
Not only do they scream, but they secrete that bright blue 'dust'
That is true
but that's only a short distance
and it alerts an entire horde a few rooms down
Pheromones can be detected a lot further than what we can visually see, though.
Hmm
It would make sense if it was a wave of some sort
A female tiger in heat can be detected upwards of 10 miles away, for example.
Because we know waves can pass through solid rock
Then the opposite occurs
why doesn't the entire level descend on us?
Partially, I think it has to do with game design for one.
I agree that it's game design for sure
but besides that
The other side of me thinks that the metal walls and doors are probably thick enough after a certain point that things in a certain distance can't detect it.
i still think more evidence is needed for it to be classified as a theory
But it's gotta be waves, how the hell else are they going to know where Schafe and the people who MWP jumped are if they're removed and hiding?
Because there's that second researcher who survived's log, he talks about how bish constantly has them moving to another place, and they find them every time
depends on what waves we're talking about
Who are you talking about?
Oh are you referencing Dr Durants 2 audio logs?
I’m talking about relativity’s time dilation, which also works both ways. it’s just in all instances of time dilation that i have heard of, time is sped up for the observer (people on earth). which would mean that red alpha is either traveling really fast (which is unlikely), or near a large gravitational influence (which it is not because it has normal gravity). that is not the case though, because time was sped up for the plants, and not the observer. i probably confused a lot of people, and i will eventually dive deeper into this and write something more comprehensible later on lol.
The guy who goes with bish and the other group as they go through the Quantum entanglement portal thingie to Red Alpha
one thing i would like to say on this
If we're saying it's an entirely different planet it means that something else could change to have it die that fast
we don't exactly know what but it is a possibility
yea like something in the atmosphere, which dr durant suggested in the log.
audio log
Oh, yeah, KSOs and Dr Durant's research team.
The only survivor of that expedition was Bishop.
Yeah, before he dies there's a log about how the floaters always find them
Speaking of Which!
Right. Floaters are an entity of their own, and I don't really understand anything about them other than what we can visually observe.
Not a damn clue, really.
Because if NAM-V+parasites+organisms communicate/sense where people are without conventional eyes or ears, then they would have some sort of vibrational wave recceptors, which could explain how scouts work, and why they're alerted by alarms/reactors and the like,
I have alarm bells ringing
We think that they're an infected native species to Red Alpha..
But we really don't know.
We could be dealing with an entirely different organism here!
My working theory is that the floaters are NAM-V + Parasite infected organisms
Go run D1 and you'll get some more insight.
Because they share similarities with sleepers
There's always similarities when it comes to parasites so i've gotten very excited
When I said it'll answer some, but offer even more questions.. I mean it.
They could be working off of normal echo location like originally suggested
Sleepers are also humanoid and have specific gamete-related abilities and attacks too, which means there's gotta be some kind of overlap
because they float
They also traverse through solid objects. 😄
WHAT?!
Like walls, and solid ground.
EXCUSE ME!
THEY CAN PHASE THROUGH WALLS?!
Alright so this is clearly a different alien species
or its own damn lifeform that was created out of biomass that somehow breaks the laws of physics to phase through objects
are we sure this is not a gameplay design decision?
They're able to quantum leap, too. Part of me thinks it has to do with the crystals that's imbedded in their backsides.
Though, it could very well be a game design choice.
yea i’ll agree with the teleporting and crystals
At this point, I know so little about them that...
I'm open to really anything.
Lmfao.
Are we saying they're able to literally do a star wars
and do a small distance hyper speed jump
That is correct.
You'll see it later on. I think D2 extreme.
Alright
Well then
i'd say more research is needed
but if what you say about the tether exists
So in B1, we left the quantum tether open because WRDN couldn't turn it off for whatever reason, so they followed us in to Garganta.
then we need to explain those bastards
As far as we know, that tether is still open.
That is true
that makes me think we've left a portal to the other world open for them to pour through
So I'm thinking the crystals embedded in to them allow for some small-distance teleportation.
which they do in B1 to hunt us down
And maybe even the ability to phase through solid wall.
But, again, could be game design.
probably game design
but the teleportation, i want to go back to that
with the Matter Wave Projector both in the log you've just shown and what you have said goes back to quantum tethering
are we suggesting the crystals can be utilised to create tethers in reality for short distance teleportation?
Well yeah
I would say so, yeah.
They'd require less power/juice than the long distance one
As to the science behind it.. couldn't tell you.
I'd imagine it's just a smaller variation of the larger jump, really.
I think the tether uses matter wave frequency’s as a pathway back to earths. when the MVP detects the quantum tethers frequency, it transports all matter waves within the projection radius to where the quantum tethers matter wave is originating from.
I would think so to
And assuming Red Alpha is at least a lightyear away, the ratio of power needed would be more than enough made by the aliens' body
this makes me excited xD
Definitely a possibility. When I visualize it, I just see it as a high-speed internet cable that allows for real-time communication and data transfer over a very large distance.
- I'm just using basic power principles here, not confirmed.
so the floaters detected the quantum tethers matter waves and they used it to transport to earth.
that i can believe
but what i'm hearing is that they can jump from one end of the room to the other
Uhh they don't do that visually in-game.
which is incremental compared to what the matter wave gen must be pulling
But I'm sure they could if they wanted to.
How much would the matter wave gen be pulling though?
Better Question
Light spoilers: when you trigger the extreme part of D2 or D3 (can't remember which) you fight a Titan and floaters that just start popping in from little flashes of light on the celing.
It's a fairly large room, too.
I have a theory
wdym
I wouldn't say the matter wave projector itself
but the material used for it
as it's foreign
My theory being that what if the Matter Wave Projector was starting to become unstable?
IIRC there is mention that it uses the new material, Cretasium 77A, as a part of the device.
But that the material gets eaten up quickly.
Ah, that's it's power source then
That would be correct
yea i’m pretty sure the crystals we see in the MVP, on the floaters, and on Red Alpha are cretasium crystals
I don't think it's the power source, I think it's mentioned that it's used as a stabilizer.
Then we're back to square one
It's in one of Stokes audio logs, I think.
Well, there's gotta be something that's giving literal terawatts of power
if it's used as a stabiliser then why would it give the floaters the property to teleport?
i think there's more at play with this mineral then just a stabiliser
I'm not sure. Remember, in B1 we don't use the MWP itself, we throw it in to a device that, I assume, is used to amplify it's power.
that is true
So we're not feeding off the MWP itself entirely, we're amplifying it's properties with that giant room.
but the MWP itself was able to send us to Red Alpha
For a very brief moment, though.
allens.
XD
well i mean... ^
Ah
No idea
not enough information to base it off of
So, in order to hold a wormhole open long enough for space travel, an incredible amount of negative energy would be required. For example, it has been estimated that to create a wormhole with a diameter one millionth the size of a proton, wormhole engineers would need negative energy equivalent in magnitude to the energy generated by ten billion suns in one year. As you can see, this would be a very expensive way to travel!
To create wormholes you'd need shedloads of power to create the negative energy to keep it stable
they grow naturally on red alpha
But if Stokes says Cretasium 77a is used as a stabilizer, where's the energy coming from?
That's the reason they deteriorate fast, due to the energy they produce it deteriorates the mineral itself
all we need is an electrical current
like quartz
Possibly
i mean there's a clear tether
no, it's factual.
evidence?
We’re looking into the possibility that the behavior of the artifacts may be inhibited or regulated in some manner by Cretasium 77A
Nothing else states it
other than your eyes?
that could be anything
who needs a log WHEN ITS IN GAME DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES
it's one piece of evidence that doesn't point anywhere
They are on red alpha, I wouldn't say they can be known to be natrual
other then black crystal go brr
you don't need a log to tell you where your HSU is in your mission
Anyway, if the floaters are all thats left of """intellegent life""" I highly doubt someone's growing these crystals
and if they're all over red alpha, that means they clearly grow somehow
I will say that is the case, i'm just speculating that it could act like quartz
have you heard of stalagmites? rock that grows naturally.
it's nowhere out of the realms of possiblity
Yeah, I'm in agreement with you
I will submit that clearly the mineral is connected to the planet
I'm just trying to think of how it grows
you wanted quartz? ^
however any other way is pure speculation
That's the right way to think of it
i spent like 4 hours today combing the desert for info
I wonder if it is natrual to that planet, but that's hard to point in either direction
We won't know until more evidence is given
Maybe it's the atmosphere?
is there evidence in logs for that carved sandstone circle?
no, but it's clearly there.
I don't fully understand geology too well, but it would seem very hard-pressed to find crystal naturally forming without some kind of incredible amount of pressure, right?
Correct, look at diamonds
Not neccecarily, heat can work as a factor as well.
That is true.
That too
For example, ammonium flurosilicate grows near fumaroles
weren't we literally talking about pressure earlier today?
with like airplanes, and stuff?
Atmospheric pressure, yes.
with gargantua being deep underground and us being teleported ontop a mountain and the felt pressure being the same?
Do we know if the felt pressure is the same?
we do not
@analog frigate
The pressure difference from being 1.5km under the surface to being on earth's surface is fractional at best.
Like, is that stated somewhere because that would be very interesting
Using real-world standard.
we can compare it similarly to earth's gravity because nothing changes when we switch planets
that's about it
Atmosphere is similar enough that you'd be fine for a while but not over 6 hours
Why six hours?
So long as there is fresh air being pumped in to a mineshaft, the atmospheric pressure is fractional.
cellular replication usually goes around 12 hours for skin/epi cells, is it affecting your skin?
Multitude of things. It could be what Dr Durant said: a potential unknown anomaly in the air, very little foliage, etc.
This links back to our plant
very little foliage?
there is bramble everywhere
Foliage doesn't mean much really
The plant that the doctor put into Red Alpha
it looked as if it died years ago
But foliage does a lot for an environment in terms of providing shade, like trees, etc.
what if it's the same thing that attacks us
^
Blocking wind, stuff like that.
That is true
That's looking at it from my outdoorsman eyes.
So if the plant and us are dying on that planet, would it be something that interferes with DNA? I'm sure there's something that could effect nitrogenious bases
these plants probably won't do much for blocking wind, they are thin and sticky
Do plants have DNA?
Lack of nitrogen would kill the plant?
and have you SEEN those dust storms?
I don't think the plants died from anything like that.
Earth plants have DNA
^dust storms
One week later on earth, we reopen that tether.
And we go through, all of a sudden those plants died months or years ago.
Yeah, but the cells would* kill themselves if their DNA got screwey
We get it, doesn't mean what you say is true
Denaturisation
Part of me believes it has to do with the time dilation.
and it would be their enzymes
Did i say that?
I think he's saying the dust storms wouldn't affect the plants because they were encapsulated
that your theory may not be true
it's not a theory
they may be dust storms
there is a picture
My Friend
a photo is a thousand words
I Am Not Talking About The Dust Storms
so keep talking.
The Theory of Said Dust Storms Having An Effect Is Theory
things can be implied
doesn't mean it's true
aaaanyway to get back on track, a lack of nitrogen would kill all earth based living things by the drop of a hat
so they would just have no impact on flora and fauna? it's heavily implied by their existance
That is true
without nitrogen we have no life
the atmo is like 70% nitrogen, right?
so nitrogen is present
on earth
No, there are substitutes for nitrogen
I'm saying that all earth based life would be fucked, including the water in the plants bowls
are you asking me?
I was wondering if there was a substitute on the planet we could think of
Ammonia probably
out of curiosity
but we can breathe just fine
Oxygen would be the cause of that
yeah but isn't ammonia deadly to humans?
If broken down within the human system, Yes
given it's a desert, i doubt it's the case.
As a gas, no
There's snow in c1 right?
or, snow based stuff
I vaguely remember you get pulled picking up the first data cube into a mountainous environment?
in a rocky environment
no, all 3 are like in caves or somethin
Oh, my bad then
No problem
it's the same place for all 3 aswell
I think it's rain, actually.
Liquid of some sort.
I would like to say
I don't know if it's H20, but it's a liquid of some sort.
i would notice if it was rain. pics
During the night of deserts they can become to the point of having ice on your face if you're wearing a Shamag
Anyway, lack of nitrogen was a bit of a spilfoil hat, the other stuff compounded on would have killed us in the world for sure
and we are wearing gasmasks
to the right of the sight. It's hard to get a pic of it.
meaning that the ammonia would of been filtered out right?
I was reading this the other day while I was writing a short story for homework
But R6C1 Main by Fireblade is the video.
i genuinely don't see what you are talking about
depends on the quality of gasmask & the size of the particulate
Punk?
That's some kind of droplet moving on the Y axis.
i dunno what that is, but it isn't rain.
Watch the video: GTFO R6C1 Main by Fireblade.
if that's rain then looks like we're dealing with something close to earths atmosphere
What's up? Talking about hazmat?
Yep
Prisoners wear a Class B mask with Class D apparel.
Can the masks our characters are wearing able to filter out poisonous gasses?
Negative, Class B can filter out fine dust particulates.
Poisonous gasses and other things of that matter, you'd want a Class A mask or SCBA gear.
More than likely, or suffer extreme lung damage.
So we have to conclude here that it's the same as earth
which means that is more then likely rain and that this may just be a biome
so it isn't conclusive
Now, that being said, there are some masks in the apparel section that look like they have oxygen canisters
But generally, those kinds of masks would need to be fitted and measured to the dimensions of your face.
Alright
And the prisoners use surplus gear leftover by Kovac.
So do we think it's possible?
It's hard to say, really.
Generally, if there's breathable oxygen, that means that Hydrogen is abundant enough to create rain in an environment.
If you pull up the video, you can see it moving downwards on the Y axis.

At the timestamp.
it's nearly 7AM and i'm knackered
i'm doing it for the sake of i'm interested, not calling your evidence into question
Just being thorough!
On that note, though, it is becoming 1am and I think it's time for sleep.
I want to find out what the extra material is in the atmosphere that’s danagerous to humans
Probably the burnt human bodies
?
that looks more like from a volcano
I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, Lilli.
There’s that log about how they were burning bodies with the virus outside of gargantua
Oh, that was years and years before current events.
yeah i realised that like two seconds after i posted it
Plus, the video is on Red Alpha, not Garganta.
Swing it, I'mma go brush my teeth and get ready for bed.
Looking at the biological reports of the sleepers they clearly show loss of pigmintation
along with them showing clear signs of albinoism
I saw the start screen on the youtube video and immediately thought you were talking about gargantua’s rain as well
so the sleepers themselves would react to UV rays if shined on them
possibly burning them
Taking that into account why do the floaters not show the same signs if these were a different lifeform?
I personally think it could be biomass collected by the parasites to act as hunters/scouts to use as more biomass
Because they’re in the sun the whole time?
Possibly
Also they’re a completely different organism, there’s a lot extra going on
True
oh i just understood what you meant
it is loose i admit that
but the biomass would not be affected by the albino problem
it would be immune to daylight
I’m under the assumption that the virus/parasite directly affects different species differently, and creates versions under what it reacts to.
it even shields the parasite from the light and uses it to shoot at us
But it seems to be making mutations from human bodies and creating "Variants" of itself
seen from the giant, sleeper, scout and now our schaffer friend
I actually do have a theory on why we seem to only drop during heavy rains. 👀
it's shown to use biomass to create certain creatures like the spitters
cause i refuse to believe that's human
again, i do not have any solid theories
Like, the virus reacting to someone with a uterus would make a shooter, because of the presence of literally hundreds of thousands of eggs, while we have other variants of shooters that are all human females but modified in some way that would make sense - a hybrid would be someone who might have a higher level of testosterone in their body than someone else.
It could be an embryo of of some sort
owowowo please do share
so the spitters are fetuses?
We have neonate hsu’s, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch
that makes me laugh
I mean, neonates appear to be premature babies
Think about it: rain defuses sound to a degree. 👀
We drop in to a pit that reverberates and possibly even amplifies certain sounds. Perhaps WRDN is taking extra precautions in the event that it could be discovered from an off-shore source and be investigated.
ooh
It's trying to stay secretive.
It’s also preventing alerting the sleepers on our way in too
Perhaps it is.
On the surface level sure
but the further down we go the less effective it becomes
Yeah, natural winds underground would blow the majority of rain away from hitting the bottom of the pit.
so it is plausible
good thinking
it also works into them using the grounds vibrations
if the vibrations are everywhere they wouldn't bat an eye to more vibrations barrelling down into the ground
same as when all you hear is noise, a gunshot won't alert you the first time, second time you realise what's going on
Or, if you're like me an live in Chiraq, you get used to it after a while.
👀
Yep
<@&408548765599793173>
Scam
yep
Please and thank you.
i got excited too for a second :<
don’t worry about it, they’ve got it
right click on their name -> report
damn
Yeah they’re pretty quick
if i knew to do that instead i would of had him
either way
i kinda want to look into Hackett and Dauda's backstory
don't know the american's name
Woods
Of Course it is
They all have voice logs!
^ they’re amazing voice logs
Dauda was a KSO scientist.
Hackett is my favourite character because he's irish and funny
You would get along with Ravenna, then.
I just want his santonian-themed hoodie
"I don't know why i look at this thing"
She is the proclaimed wife of Hackett, and she's an admin in the Discord.
"Ping, Ping and Bloody Ping"
And she loves us here in this channel.
200%
Well then, did i miss the wedding? xD
Lmao. Long before I joined the lore channel.
Well then
if it wasn't for nerds we wouldn't have the things we have now
I was there for her first wedding, I believe i missed the one with hackett
Hey, she got married to Elon Musk, aka The Warden
It was covered in dust or maybe a powder or ashes. From a… from a fire… Yes… a fire.
I can't imagine what life is like being married to a DI.
GTFO discord lore is meta in all hell
Ashes
What did we see on Red Alpha?
C2
Ash along with rain
it was falling from the sky
Daraxus and I theorize that it came from a pile of burnt bodies in Garganta. Schaeffer has been on the run since R4, I think.
possibly could also link to earth
Maybe it was R5. I forget.
correct?
but it came from ashes
it could be from a pile of burnt bodies or it could of came from the rift from the MWP
That's a loose theory again
Anything is a possibility in the world of GTFO.
why would the MWP create ash?
i’m confused lol
Red Alpha during C2 had Ash coming down from the sky and Rain
Also, just for clarity sake: Red Alpha is a coined name for the place we go to. Red Alpha is technically the catastrophic failure of a Mars mission... canonically.
But that's aside the main point for now.
yep
we really need a better name for it lol
So this is something the community came up with
I'm pretty sure we'll get a name in 6.5
but i think it's safe to assume it came from 1 of two places
is 6.5 speculation or will happen?
either a pile of burned bodies
Usually extensions have a buttload more lore than main.
or from the place we call Red Alpha
They're working on more patches according to devblog. I'd assume we'll get an extension before 7.0
sounds fun
ooh yeah that makes perfect sense
I'd have to contemplate that one a bit, really. It's implied that sleeper-like anomalies have been around for a little longer than the initial invasion.
When SMC cracked 'The Egg'
its a theory
but he mentioned the fires
and you said about them burning bodies years and years ago
Yeah, that one stumps me tbh
Yeah, they got rid of a bunch of dead bodies.
I think more bodies were burned as time went on with NAM-V causing a massive issue within Garganta.
State of Truth AM baybeeeee
So i think it's either or
At least, I'd like to think that.
(speaking of, i should design a state of truth logo for funsies)
Probably too many dead bodies to deal with properly
"Caller, welcome to the State of Truth AM. Whatcha got for us?"
can it still hold a quantum tether without the stabiliser?
I don’t think so, A1 kinda proves that
Mmm... I'm not really sure.
Perhaps for a very brief moment.
Like A1, yeah.
I don't know if it can go for much longer than that.
Like, we touch the artifacts, get teleported for a few minutes, then we get pulled back
Also, it's implied that we have more than one MWP.
Because we somehow get another one.
Don't ask me how.
we get another one?
We left the first one in B1.
maybe
We somehow get another in D1.
well damn
is it dropped down with you?
I don't know if that's oversight or if it's canon.
... Maaaaybe? It's been a minute since I last booted the game up.
Hell yeah.
then i can confirm
but one thing i want to think about is how the fuck do they teleport?
I'm booting it up now, I'm deadset on this curiosity train.
C H O O - C H O O
chugga chugga chugga
the prisoners?
The Floaters
I figure that the black crystal artifacts have some kind of quantum property
They probably have a lot of Creatium 77a built into their body assuming they come from red alpha
Lets say he's right
that Creatium 77A is natural
That’s too big of a plot hole for the devs to ignore
XD
Well, the crystals aren’t C77a
Uploading some candid shots for curiosity sake.
C77a is just used to help stabilise the crystals
They’re always black?
but in A1 it's orange
Like muddy river at night kind of black.
sun colour or smth?
I promise you they’re black in every mission
On red alpha?
I think I know what you're talking about; a very gentle orange outline in the MWP, right?
They’re in the glow of the sunset
Sounds good lmao.
but i think somethings to look at are this
Alright, off to bed for me it is. Good night, friends!
How exactly does the Tether work
I should probably do the same lmaooo
i do believe it to be correct as its implied
- We need to learn more about the sleepers
It's partially a question of entanglement.
NAM-V i believe is self explanitory
it's just those 2 and that should explain everything i need to know
Story elements themselves... i don't think there's much of a story, just world building and i love that
anyway, good niiiiiiight
Uh oh
Sorry
nah
Forgive me
it was because two scams happened at the same time

Two scans?
Oh
Makes sense
I thought you meant scans so i got mad confused
Miss read i have
An idiot i am
not orange
it's just lighting
they do look pretty cool though in this lighting, the light refracting through this crystal
also good morning
@analog frigate did you update the intro to gtfo lore with the plant life and storms on red alpha?
not yet
Is there anything written about the biosphere of red alpha?
I’ve been doing a huge amount of reading lately on that subject (Worldbuilding for a short story) and I’d like to throw something together
Clipped for my own purposes.
VIACOM better not claim this crap lol
LMAOOOOO
"So much sand, you really wouldn't believe it."
Sounds like Afghanistan
In all seriousness though, has a breakdown on the planet been made?
Negative. We only really know what we've seen thus far.
not really anything comprehensive
interesting
If you want to be the forerunner for it, be our guest. Lmao.
I didn't need to do homework anyway
one thing I noticed, is that there has to be a lot of dust in the atmosphere, because the sunsets are blue. just like on mars. so a lot of mie scattering is occurring because of the dust.
actually nvm, I was assuming that the d1 boss fight was taking place at dusk, but the moon/ sun / whatever is providing the blue light looks too high for that to be the case
Show a screenshot?
That's too big for it to be a sun, so it's probably a moon reflecting light into the atmosphere
it's a moon for sure
The blue is probably coming from either the moon reflecting more blue light, or the atmospheric composition
Could be krypton, xenon, or mercury vapor (which would explain what they don't want to breathe in)
((based off of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas-discharge_lamp))
esp. considering they don’t have the proper equipment
definitely not mercury vapour
i think that it would be noticeable that people are getting heavy metal poisoning
and that one person who durant told to have a mask on would most likely be dead
he kinda did die anyway though lmaooo
But where does the water go? (sorry for ping)
There has to be a large amount of vapor of some sort due to the fog in D1, as well as cloud formation
I'm not entirely sure, really. I don't even know if it is water. I just know that it's falling from sky to ground outside of that cave area.
Afghanisand
this entire topic has too many unknowns
we don't know where we are on the planet, how good the tech they used to detect things is, the star system it's in
there just isn't enough to figure out if there is water
for an example, we could be in the planet's version of sahara
and if we move somewhere else there are some rainforests or something
Yes
That is correct too
though we can infer a few things from how it acts within the game i believe
not much
best we've got
<@&408548765599793173>
Yea, I'm not excluding that possibility that the rest of the planet could have water
What about them rock carvings that lostty frostty found
there's rock carvings in the ??? level?
Stop calling it red alpha ffs.
why is everyone calling it red alpha, that's just a log in-game describing a confirmed mars mission right?
lol
As a mystery area, i have to say it is currently open to interpretation, so it really could well be related and somehow it is Mars, too early in the writing to let it trigger you 😛
But i do actually agree with you, i just scrolled up before you said that and was like "why are they all referring to it as basically Mars" lol
I'm using the term red alpha because everyone else is calling it red alpha
im everyone else.
the wiki just calls it Alpha or ??? that's what i call it because that's it's name atm apparently
Alpha 1 and 2 are sites on ???
Petition to call it Geoff
In the desert, yeah.
lets just call it large sodium rock.
I want to call it sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare
Oi i will call it what i want oky
I have to say though, because I'm sure the devs look at this for ideas, if you're one of the writers and reading this, thank you for giving me a lore/world to dig into that is right up my alley at a time when so many games don't offer this
A compelling af non-linear story.
I'm enjoying the fact it's reality based sci-fi that doesn't give you the answers
yeah man i don't read books, but I've spent hours reading the wiki pages
mood
Lol
yes the mystery is good, it may actually have a negative impact if they canonically explain more
they've avoided explaining more untill peices have been put together
At least, that's my observation
We are very gradually learning various plot points.
They told me that the game is actually all about me and how handsome i am and how much i love sand and darkness
well, that's just my observation
Yes for now red alpha remains a mysterious place
*sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare
?
To think we spent a rundown with absolutely nothing besides our objectives, and then the next rundown we had a single email.
It’s the planet’s name
yup i think rundown 5 amped it up from like a couple of emails a rundown to 30+ pieces of info in logs etc
No?
Pretty sure it is.
yes it is ask my dad
Red Alpha is a Mars mission.
There is no name for the place we go, only the particular research stations (alpha 1 and alpha 2).
sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare is the new name of the planet then?
My dad works for Nintendo and he says that the name is sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare
^
Seriously though, I wish they had given us a code name in d1 of the place, that would have been cool
Nah planet doesn't have a name but most of the community has settled with red alpha
then it wouldn't be confusing
@tall anchor actually mentioned it, according to the wiki, in all seriousness, the areas we go to are Alpha 1 & Alpha 2, and the name of the area those are inside of (the planet) currently, officially, according to the wiki if that's managed by devs, is "???"
The wiki is mostly made by the community
But we shouldn't take it all too seriously because again, this stuff is still being written and hasn't been explained and may never be explained the writers might not even have a name or place for it yet
but my dad says
sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare
The only dev who has actually done something on the wiki is D0c, and he bans people
We don't go inside the planet when we teleport
The complex is underground and thats on earth
it might even be just earth at a different time i think there's a log that says it could possibly be time travel
Alpha one and alpha two are the bases of the people who went to red alpha
No there isn't a log that states this
Never has
That's refering to quantum entanglement theory
not this time travel nonsense...
And if the writers went with time travel its lazy writing
Basically the quantum tether could connect us to Spikey Desert World 2 at different points in time
oh i get you
I just died a little when i saw time travel
No
I need guidance
maybe
thanks Clay
step 1: don't be a dick. @maiden crystal
step 2: don't be a cannibal
But yeah, it's not time travel, you're just connecting to the other planet at a later point in time theoretically
Step 3 don't talk about time travel
shaeffers audio logs are recorded in the future and sent to the past via the MWP
Either that or something merc'd the plant
you wanna die
Talking about time
its about time.
and now for today's sponsor
my boy
checks pants
sorry no
okke someone indulge me on RUNDOWN*5 cause I wasnt there for it and now I get vibes of travelling the clock in rundown 6 considering what you guys are writing
my MAN
is it lost tity frost tity?
What?
what?
checks pants again
still no
my woMAN
if you're travelling anywhere, even if you're not, technically you are travelling through time, so I'm still saying, Back to the sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare 2 future 2 commence

forward is easy. backwards is hard.
prepare my time travel gloves boy
No teleportation is instantaneously
There had an aneurysm writing MB lads
No need for time travel
my ears have burst like an overcooked hotdog
And you can't send communications from the past to the future
even stepping off the teleport pad is travelling through time
What rundown you playin man
we have to reach 88 miles an hour or whatever it was that is what the crystals are for
As in what have i missed in rundown 5, following up to this one
just read the logs on the wiki
back to red alpha
back to red alpha part two
Dude just stop because your speaking nonsense right now
nah fam to much letters
There's a pretty good youtube vid by that Professor lad that covers the basics of the lore and another by him that updates info on the prisoners and key characters
If I write a note, then mail it to someone, they will read it later, ergo I sent a communication from the past to the future.
Just do a quick youtube search and you'll be up to date yes
And here I am coming over to the lore channel to be sent back o youtube. Thanks!
instruction failed, accidentally watched 4 hours of souls lore.
Okay you and cannibal are just trolling
Merv, you seem tense, i believe some quality time travel at my wonderful timeshare in the beautiful sandy funtown happy gogo deathhouse 5 modern warfare could really benefit you
uuuh, not much. biomasses move, we had a weird high security cargo to crack open, and then at the very bottom we unlocked ||all of KDS Deep, which is a HSU storage structure, and an elevator to go deeper||
5 acres of saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
lush sand
im going to send all the sand back through the mwp
so we dug to bedrock and got ourselves more watery tombs, got it.
allens.
allens
lostty is that the carving you found?
basically.
there was another mother and a tank or something? nothing major really apart from that
wait.. is that...
directly behind where you teleport in in b1
red alpha stone henge
Is that Lambda over there?
OH NO IS THAT THE MAYAN CALENDAR
part of the cliff face is carved out too
PLEASE GOD
