Gentlemen! Consider this: it seems I won't be able to get a license for GTFO fanfiction. Could there be Sleepers on the surface, beyond Garganta, after the virus has engulfed the world and humanity has fallen, perhaps in the form of dogs or other animals? The virus is supposedly all-consuming. Or does it only affect humans? From what I understand from the descriptions, it destroys all fauna. What about flora? Does it have any effect on plants or trees?

AFAIK, Sleepers on the surface aside those that escaped from the various digsites in the immediate proximity which were encountered by the Cuban military and are of the Wave (dark skinned) variant specifically. What is mainly on the surface are countless rotting corpses across the world littering the streets (as told by Dr. Truth logs)

As far as I understand the timeline, the parasite emerged onto the surface after Mister Truth was long dead. Around the time of the Daylight Mission's demise. That's when it all began.
So let's say the Parasite, along with the virus, spread across the entire planet. And besides piles of rotting corpses, could there be Sleepers of animal origin?

OG Ef01 went to Destination. (a) bishop eventually returned alone with a matter wave projector. It's implied that this is OG bishop, but we cannot verify because multiverse shenanigans.
OG bishop would then be with the OG squad for all of gameplay.
the ALT://bishop that left for ef01 was not, verifiably not the ALT://bishop that returned, and is playable in the ALT:// rundowns.

I have just collated the final post-launch report and I noticed something odd. I'm scratching my head on this one - maybe it makes sense to you?
During the scrub down of the jump site, we discovered a security officer mask jammed under the launch platform. We ran a forensic on it and the DNA came as KSO Bishop - the only operative who returned from EF-01. However, Bishop had all of his equipment when he returned - including his mask. The mask we found was also a different design to Bishop's mask, but at some point, Bishop must have been wearing the mask. It was covered in his DNA.
I followed up with Mr. Piros and explained the conundrum. Mr. Piros informed me that Bishop's equipment is all accounted for. I asked Mr. Piros if they had issued Bishop any new equipment after the expedition, but Mr. Piros told me Bishop is using the same equipment he was issued with when he was delivered to Garganta. Mr. Piros refused to give me any more information at that point and simply stopped responding to me. I don't think he was hiding anything; I think he just had nothing else to say.
So now we have this mask. I don't know if this means anything, but I'm stumped. I have secured the item in the artifact vault should you want us to run any further tests on it.

in OG logs, from the perspective of someone on destination, the time runs super fast, as between the days of the plants being sent through and the team going through, siginificant time had already passed on destination.

if the virus infects someone, they just mutate and mutate until their body can't handle the damage anymore and they just die. The parasite on its own, we don't really know.. We know how they operate post-symbiosis in the current epoch, aka, post collector interference/collection, where the parasite will go after infected hosts (with nam-v) and just continue the mutations and go from there, but if it was just the parasite itself... i'd imagine something primal. like the velonaceps calyx in barotrauma.
