I have offered some suggestions to SMC on how to initiate Project Insight and recommended some key personnel, but that is the full scope of my involvement. Project Insight has its own entity and structure. I am only an observer.
That being said, I fully support the SMC board in this decision. Santonian are making many interesting new discoveries at Garganta, but they are a mining company at heart, and their research capabilities are limited. The launch this month of Project Insight, as I understand it, will enable greater and more comprehensive explorations within the mine and properly systematize the collection and analysis of artifacts.
You will of course still oversee all mining operations within Garganta, but where you drill, when you drill, what you drill, how you drill, and if you drill will now be dictated exclusively by the Project Insight team. This is, after all, a collaborative effort.

trying to figure out what is going on with that one Aelfo light in R1B1...
So, what this appears to be is modular storage trucks with Santonian + Aelfo. The fixtures for each truck are interchangeable, and can fit stuff from pallet cages to fuel tanks from Cornell
those lights can be at various parts of the trucks, it's not unified, I've found a few but this is the only Aelfo light I've found
And Santonian rigs up custom chassis for what that truck is meant to haul
A good level to observe it is R6D3 if not R1B1 (starting zone vs just after 2nd alarm)

question for the lore nerds. in r8c2 when the gang are getting the brain chips sucked out with the mri, schaeffer tells them that the other team would probably betray them because they're AU copies. but is there any indication prior to this moment that the two teams were actually aware that they were AU counterparts? when they communicate throughout r8 using hearsay terminals it converts it to a vox, so do the prisoners know that the 'other team' they are helping are AU versions of themselves prior to this?
the alt team never rlly did knew they were alts, but in b3 schaeffer hears himself talming to the other team, its possible he investigated and saw it was them too and just happened to reveal it in the frenzy of trying to convince them team to not pull out their chips

This week I drew the conclusion that the lifeforms we have been finding do not appear to come from the same evolutionary tree. Indeed, many of them appear to have at least partially evolved in drastically different environments, though there is clearly a commonality in the mutations they all share. There is no indication that the artifacts and objects we have found within the fossil were designed for use by any of the creatures, so quite how they ended up there is still a mystery. The bizarre disappearance of the equipment while working on Artifact 13 suggests some method of transformation or even transportation beyond our current understanding. As such, the origin of these creatures remains a mystery - but they come from different places. Different planets? Universes? I am confident I will unravel the mystery, but my impatience for understanding is overwhelming!

what is dim0 and dim1?
index of dimensions in a level as they are defined in unity, we always start in dim0 and every teleport to a new area is a different dimension but does not necessarily correspond to an actual different dimension lorewise or gameplay

The silicon resin does temporarily block the jump defect, so that has helped. It decays pretty quickly as the Cretasium eats through it, but it means we actually can touch the artifacts at least. cretasium-77a is corrosive

If you recall the alt://r6 log where a version of our quad encounters the conduit and ends up with dauda and woods dead, that conduit also had a strange interaction with the nearby sleepers.
I can never remember between the two.
Anyway, that log is where the whole "mimic" name came from before we knew what it was/when it was officially named in r6 extended.
Another fun fact, originally in r6 extended, it was called "subject" but was later patched and changed to "unit"

It's highly likely (though unconfirmed so take this as you will) that us in r6c3 are serving as a distraction so another team can go get the mwp that we left behind.
We leave it behind again in r6d1, but an indeterminate amount of time passes between r6 and r7

Woods went on hsi rampage in 2048, got shot. We know he's healed by the time his first audio log happens because it sounds as though he lifts his shirt to show off the scars, and i imagine it'd take a long time for eight gunshot wounds in the chest to heal- lets say 6-12 months. Then he gets put in hydrostasis, that takes a bit to wipe all his memories, could be anywhere between 6 months to over a year. I have a theory that the person in hydrostasis will lose their memories faster if they're willing to lose them based on Hackett and Bishop's experiences, so lets say it takes a year. That puts his second audio log, two years after he become a KSO, in 2052 somewhere. In said log he's told he'll have to be reset and marked as faulty if he believes in god, then later in 2052 he's reported to have scarred himself with religious iconography etc. Im guessing he's marked as faulty almost immediately after that, in June of '52
maybe the timelines a bit of a stretch right but I think it makes sense that he'd be told they're gonna reset him then he'd mark himself to make sure he'll remember, no matter how many times he's reset
