garganta's vent system must be an absoulute mess
there really aren't any good irl comparisons, but the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notobasis_syriaca syrian thistle is the closest i've found for the shrubs
Notobasis syriaca, or the Syrian thistle, is a species of flowering plant in the tribe Cardueae within the family Asteraceae. It is native to the Mediterranean region and the Middle East, from Madeira, the Canary Islands, Morocco and Portugal east to Egypt, Iran and Azerbaijan.
It is an annual plant belonging to the semi-desert flora, growing to...
even flowers the same color
ahh yes those things, it says native to those areas, except the british have their own kind that makes it almost impossible to sit down in grass
considering schaeffer used it to get around before he HSU'd himself, definitely.
could also explain how sleepers always spawn two zones away
they're coming out of the goddamn walls
like if you look at any big building complexs ones, they have messes of ones. And garganta is fucking massive in size, so them being in the walls is possible
oh fucking god above, the piping and sewage system.
you are just describing the floodworks tileset
the vents is the start of it, and then you think of how it's below sea level.
i like the broken one B]
a great many pumps.
so the piping has to go up and around, and then there's the whole filtration system
you know, it is really hard to get oxygen this far down
don't forget the massive kitchens either, putting out co2
** I haven't eaten since this started, I – I tried to get to commissary but there's a hundred of them in there just waiting.**
oh, then there's the food system, i have so many theories on how they fed the workers
Incident Description
Myself and an unknown Kovac Security Operative (unknown because KSOs apparently do not have to give their name when asked) got into an altercation when he refused me entry to my own sleeping quarters. The security officer informed me that my belongings were being "processed". When I asked what that meant I got no response. I then attempted to gain access to MY OWN QUARTERS and was forcefully prevented entry.
including using corpses, masses of poultry, and prison stuff
all workers and employees have their own sleeping quarters and amenities.
so there are offices, bedrooms/apartments, bathrooms, kitchens, etc, we just don't get to see them
of of it anyway would be on the upper floors
and we spend most of our time near the bottom, barring A-tier expeditions
(even A tier is a couple hundred meters down)
corpse stuff meaning any dead bodies were used as food
i don't think that'd be something that would be happening until the very very end
and even then, i really doubt it
by that point just about everyone knows how lethal the virus is
if you had it, they'd kick you out of wherever they were hiding
remember, the warden sealed all of the doors, and the sleepers coming from far below, the upper floors held out the longest

I let him go. I had to. He was, his manic behavior was a danger to us all. I mean I didn’t see any other way to… I think I may have received… or… or been given a dose… of whatever it is that… I just… wait. I didn’t tell you the patient’s name. I’m sorry. It’s Edgar… His employee ID is… you can look it up. But… but he’s gone now. I tried everything but the more I listened to him, the more sense it made. I think… I think… he’s right. There’s that noise… that… it’s like insects in my skull. it’s there, I hear it. I can see them moving sometimes, in the corner. It’s not a hallucination. It’s clearly an infestation and no one seems to care about it. Ever since that BIOCOM thing took over there’ no people left to talk to. It’s just machines. This is a machine. I’m talking to one now. Susan! Susan! Come in here I don’t want to use this thing–
[4.7 second silence]

I don’t know where she’s gone. She’s been ignoring me. Something is up with her. I catch her looking at me all the time…
[3.2 second silence]
Teale
Edgar Soweta. We can close the file on him. KDS have removed him from the Complex so I doubt if we’ll ever see him again. Actually… don’t write that Susan. I don’t want that on the record. Susan? Don’t add that to the record, okay? Hearsay off.
[1.6 second silence]
Teale
I can’t trust her, or them. I have a job to do. Or do i? Maybe that’s the point. What if they want to see how much it affects me? This thing, that’s changing people, what if it’s me they really want? What if… what if Edgar was put here to test me?
[3.3 second silence]

I have to get out of here.**
dissenters were also executed. people who knew too much
being shot was very very easy.
oh..that gives us a perspective on what the infected saw in their pherial vison at times and those noises hmm, but not sleeperifed yet ones. intresting
oh..oh that image that description makes is horrific, and the bug might be the parasite which..oh fuck that's gross to think about.
oh hell i didnt hear that end bit
parasitidae garganta
Parasitidae is a family of predatory mites in the order Mesostigmata that has worldwide distribution. They are the only family in the superfamily Parasitoidea. Relatively large for mites, their color is often yellowish to dark brown. The family as a whole preys on a wide variety of microarthropods and nematodes, with individual species usually h...
given they are alien in nature, they obviously aren't actual members of the parasitidae family, but that is what they were classified as.
## Goals
I need to complete the process of naming the parasites. I have instructed by staff to temporarily call them the Parasitidae Hammerstein, but I'm not sure if I like it yet.
(guess who wrote that)
jk, its obviously mr. ego
okay, whoever did the sound design in this game is excellent in their works but horrific in their sound effect department, dauda maybe
he did all that virus experimental stuff
that he did. dauda did human experimentation in an attempt to determine the capabilities of the virus and to find a cure
he succeed at one of those things
giving the virus plenty of bodies to feed on, and found out it's capabilities.
i know this sounds weird, but all the logs where it's got one of the main 4 in it either alone or with another, which one of the 4 talks oddly quiet. Oh, this is the nightmare log which made me think abbado dauda has, even if it might be little, remorse for his actions but it doesnt change the horrificly bad nature of his tortues experiments. His accent is intresting, the image that needle bit gives is AHAH.
It is my conscience telling me to stop, imploring me to change who I am, what I do. But I cannot. I am in this now. I must finish the work. It will have value one day. I'm sure of it... I hope. Hearsay, off.
from ALT://
also for like a 40 to 50 year old (or however old he is), dauda sounds remarkbly good.
they already exist in perpetual torment without the violence we perpetrate upon them.
he knows
dauda knew of how the person who once lived are awake in the infected and mangled form of the sleepers
**The virus is remarkable. It appears to have been perfectly designed to infect regardless of the
Circumstance. When it finds a host, it induces coughing, sweating, sneezing, and ultimately violent attacks
to draw blood and saliva. Without a host, it can transfer itself through any medium. The only test I have
not been able to perform yet is in a vacuum, but I am planning such experiments next week as soon as I
receive new subjects from Mr. Piros.
Research continues.
Dr Abeo Dauda A153**
When dauda says any medium, if he truly meant that then humanity was completly fucked anyway
cause the only soloution would be to burn every sleeper and that entire earth to just be able to completly get rid of it
**Through my experiments, I have discovered the virus has a multipronged attack strategy, which not only
increases the R0, but also allows it to be highly contagious in multiple environments. Infected individual
can release create pathogens and fomites through any bodily fluid. The virus has been observed in fluids
extracted from anywhere on the patient - sweat, blood, saliva, bile, urine, even in the aqueous and
vitreous humors. The virus can also survive for several weeks while airborne or on surfaces. In my control
tests, subjects exposed to locations that had been contaminated up to 4 weeks prior to exposure still
contracted the virus. This was also true of subjects immersed in various solutions (I tried fresh water, salt
water, and several synthetic oils and polymers). 85% of subjects contracted the virus within a few
hours. The remaining 15% who survived other exposure methods contracted the virus when exposed to a
vaporus environment heavily dosed infected fomites.
The parasite that we had previously attributed as the primary carrier of the virus is, in my opinion, merely
another victim of this remarkable lifeform. The only difference is the virus does not mutate the parasites,
rather it prolongs the life cycle of the parasite indefinitely. The relationship is symbiotic. The parasite
carries the virus to new hosts, and the virus helps the parasite live for an extended (and currently
unknown) period. Perhaps indefinitely.**
oh
the other half of that log
that means alot of things
from durant:
We can assert categorically that both NAM-V and Parasitidae Garganta are extraterrestrial in origin. There is no way of knowing for sure if they evolved in the same location (or even if they evolved at all), but we do know that the environmental conditions for both lifeforms was at least very similar as their structural framework share many features. It is highly likely they have the same origin, wherever that may be.
**
The progenitor of the relationship between the virus and the parasite is not clear, so I have been working under Dr. Dauda's theory that the virus happened upon the parasite at some point, found it to be an appropriate host, and evolved to manipulate the behavior of the parasite to ensure transmission. We have also discovered that the extent of viral mutation within the parasites is unusually high. Each infected parasite carries it's own mutation of the virus, which means that any host with multiple parasites will allow the mutated viruses to gene shuffle and create new strains. Many of the new strains lead to mutations of the host to varying degrees, resulting in the physical deformities we see in some hosts. This is almost certainly the cause of at least some of the abominations that have been uncovered as excavations towards the Inner continue.**
**
However, I have also isolated hundreds of parasites that do not carry the virus and yet their behavior is identical to infected parasites, indicating the presence of collective intelligence. The parasites are highly social and will work together to ensure attachment to a host - using strategies that are far beyond the capability of an individual parasite. It is unlikely that these complex behaviors can all be attributed to implanted behaviors from the virus.**
**
The relationship is certainly symbiotic. The virus triggers life-prolonging chemical production in the parasite, and the parasite provides a suspendable organic structure for the virus. The parasite transmits the virus to new hosts, and in turn the virus alters the behavior of the host to accept the presence of the parasite and inhibit the desire to remove it.**
**
With so many mutations of NAM-V being created with each new host, there are potentially millions of strains of NAM-V that no longer require a parasite to transmit. This explains why Dr. Dauda's research shows such resilience in the virus. It evolves everywhere, in every way. This virus is an omnipotent force of nature.**
**
The only method we have found of killing the virus is by stopping the biological functions of the host through hydrostasis (or death). Fortunately, the parasites have not yet found a way into the HSUs. However, after hydrostasis reinfection is possible. We continue to improve our sterilization and prophylaxis methods, but we are fighting a losing battle. I see no future for us if we do not seek the origin of these lifeforms and find an immune genome. If we are to survive NAM-V, we must turn to the nature that created it. Evolution has had millions of years to fight the virus. We have months.**
something intresting is how each of the leaders of the companies writes
in logs of theirs
and then you have hammerstein:
**# The Hammerstein Collection
Abstract
This is the weekly report of Dr. Gallus Hammerstein, lead researcher and founder (or co-founder according to some) of Project Insight. I have decided to stop using the Hearsay system to record my daily and weekly notes as I believe prying eyes may wish to take my research and use it for their own gain. As such, I will be keeping all of my files local in a markdown vault so that I have complete control over the information I am gathering. This is clearly the wisest solution given the competitive nature of the staff I have hired for Insight.**
**
Weekly Achievements
This week we received a new shipment of specimen display cases and formaldehyde. To their credit, Dreyfus have been more than helpful in making sure my project is sufficiently funded and supported for the last 2 years. I'm glad they recognize the importance of my work.
**
**
I have started a photographic record of the specimens. At some point in the future I will be getting published for these breakthrough discoveries and will need imagery for the inevitable book and tour lectures.**
**
This week I drew the conclusion that the lifeforms we have been finding do not appear to come from the same evolutionary tree. Indeed, many of them appear to have at least partially evolved in drastically different environments, though there is clearly a commonality in the mutations they all share. There is no indication that the artifacts and objects we have found within the fossil were designed for use by any of the creatures, so quite how they ended up there is still a mystery. The bizarre disappearance of the equipment while working on Artifact 13 suggests some method of transformation or even transportation beyond our current understanding. As such, the origin of these creatures remains a mystery - but they come from different places. Different planets? Universes? I am confident I will unravel the mystery, but my impatience for understanding is overwhelming!**
**
Goals
I want to display my specimens in as many places as possible to inspire my team to new discoveries. The Hammerstein Collection is destined to be one of the scientific wonders of the world and I feel it is my duty to reward my staff by showing off the work they do to their peers. It is inspirational and I will allow forgive myself for this brief display of pride.**
**
I will be conducting a behavioral analysis of the few living creatures we have managed to capture. They have an extreme sensitivity to aural stimulation, so I will be setting up an experiment to project a range of frequencies throughout the lower levels of Garganta to see which ones draw the most attention. Obviously, this will be a controlled experiment. We will have Security Officers there to protect the researchers as they capture as many varieties of creature as possible. In an ideal world, I would need to order more display cases!
It should be perfectly safe if everyone does as I say. Next week will be monumental for Project Insight!**
ahh, yes the egotistical prick
(the formatting is included in the log)
hammerstein writes his with a sense of insane amounts of ego and that he does this for his own gain, while durant writes with a sense of info gathering and noting down things with it's operation and credits others
also it seems he captured live sleepers, during his expedition
like that is such an amazing idea
and then there's the third who i forget their name but writes with a sense of confusion and hope
this log appears to be just before the blast caused by the alien gun
since he mentions his frequency test
that ended up causing it to fire
without a name i can't link it, sorry
i assume you mean stokes, from insight at least?
oh yeah, the gun that somehow didnt explode earth itself after shooting the heat of the sun out. Yeah stokes
that's his name
collector tech be tripping balls
stokes is wamen
wait their a women
isnt that two ksos she mentions
it doesn't seem like she has many, if any text logs... just a shit ton of hearsay recordings
seems like the kind of person to make audio recordings instead of paper
what two KSOs?
C067 and C085, well C067 is schaeffer so...
not ksos
at least not yet
like i said, she in the logs has a sense of hope with at least somewhat knowledge on what the stuff is and newbie talk. The numbers in her log, which means that was when schaffer got launched to destination isnt it
wait he didnt?
The two employees who first discovered the object (the matter wave projector) ** disappeared as soon as they touched it.**
We know this because there were two witnesses to the event: C067 and C085.”
schaeffer was a pit boss working in the mines for santonian, leading a team of miners.
they probably encountered it while drilling a new tunnel, called Insight in, and watched as the two reps that got called down vanished
this event is entirely unrelated to EF01
this was before they lost a wing of their lab to it, even
yeah, must've got that mixed up with however did get yeeted there
which i think was one of the two bishops or hackets
discord can't censor official lore
hackett was never a part of ef01...
what even set that off, there's been worse logs
it was Bishop, Durant, 3 other unknown KSOs, who all died, and an unknown team of scientists, who all also died
in OG the bishop that left is the same bishop that returned.
in ALT://, we get the log where their bishop wasn't the one that returned
huh yeah, wait that alt bit means...
alt didn't go to destination. they went to the jungle world.
there is already a living bishop on the jungle world with durant and co.
the alt://bishop isn't the alt://bishop
that is it.
wait so your saying that the alt bishop from durants team is not the alt one we play as intresting... that jungle planet is weird
alt://team are all from the alt://worldline, born and raised there, except who we know as alt://bishop. the real alt://bishop is living with durant and the rest of the scientists and KSO team on the jungle planet.
so post r8e2, the two bishops would presumably meet.
where who we think is alt://bishop came from? who the hell knows!
if only alt team could've been brought with them, it would've been the spiderman meme with guns. or the cod zombies meeting thingy
i mean it is still spiderman with OG bishop and the original alt://bishop
if OG took alt:// with them, there would be 3 bishops
yeah, i mean the 2 groups meeting each other could've ended with both groups shooting each other on sight or the 8 working together to GET THE FUCK out
is there anything else you'd like to talk about?
or you know the insane amount of sleepers on alt team's asses along with the tons on og team's leading to their deaths
i have nothing, for now i am trying to figure out what their reactions would be to eachother
how many total people were in garganta?
/ whats an upper bound for the number of sleepers in the complex
1st: we don't know the total number of collectors that were infected on the vessel.
2nd: we don't know the total number of specimens that were infected on the vessel that the collectors had collected.
3rd: we don't know how many ancient Mayans were trapped/infected during their war during the 16th century.
4th: Of KSOs, 32,000.
5th: Of workers, scientists, and staff... Garganta was fucking huuuuge. I'd easily say several hundred thousand.
gtfo's alt and og teams are all insane or have clear signs of mental stuff
dauda and hackett are the most prominent of the 4
actuallly it's either hackett or Wodds, but then bishop is the most "normal" of the groups
woods might just have the mandate of heaven so its kinda hard to tell
Hackett is just a sociopath iirc
Yeah, iirc Woods has turbo ptsd doesn't he?
woods just killed some people
most of the crew has some kind of ptsd
and then said "god praise the lord!"
and uh accidentally predicted his future
twice
caused by a fucking variety of things
thats why i say he just might have the mandate
he might just actually be blessed by god
one being garganta's hellhole and how alot of them have been through a lot of traumatic stuff in their backstories
abusive parents, warzones, classified stuff.
dont get me started on that
these are mostly the og ones: woods, these are all based of psycholgy and my opnion, has a kind of insanity (he claimed to hear the voice of god) along with most likely having ptsd, due to being in a warzone and garganta, also might be a sociopath. Dauda is a complex case, due to him being a fucking weirdly documented character, i think dauda has a kinds of ptsd, caused by his past and other things, judging by how he speaks of his actions and what he did in the experiments, could be either a socio or a psychopath. Hackett most definetly is a functioning pyschopath, as he happily joined legion and killed over 20 civilans in a village for no reason, has mental shit from his father judging by how hackett said if he saw him, hacketts father would have a bullet in his brain, and gargantas stuff. Bishop is the most normal of the entire squad, has probably got alot of lingering mental problems from his time in velincia: That's all i got.
It's not one
huh
the end of r8e2 looks beautiful
the lighting looks nice, the many many explosions helps makes the escape more frantic, the kidnapper sleepers just coming in for the ending to screw you over, the og teams betrayal of alt team, how we drag an entire bit of kds deep with us on the exit teleport.
wish it was just more batshit insane on enemies but otherwise its great
just shouldve had like every enemy, shadow charger big charger striker shooter
not just sleeper and tentacle sleeper
oh god, that after fighting a kraken and 2 tanks, if they threw all of that and a few mothers would have made for an absoulute hell of a finale
wait....if we drag a chunk of kds deep with us, could we have brought biocom/the warden with us too
i mean probs not mothers kmsdkms
but everythin else wouldve been fun
moreso as ur stacked UP by resources by that point
warden just lives in the general biocom but if im not wrong kds is just the storage, not the brains of it
the brains of biocom are in the mainframe
which isss r7d2
thats were we trojan it
yeah the storage systems, and we dont know how much of kds we drag in with us.
thank u for validating me frosty
I'm cooking potatoes
judging by the looks, the same room we extract from
:O DELICIOU
That's why I haven't jumped in rn
yummy
yeah, the same room and about a few hundred hsu's
Still reading tho
the worldlines merging in r8 due to matterwave collapse, could lead to so many scenarios
some funny, some bad.
it just blocked my message
me when automodded
cause i said 15 skyscrappers merging at once
in the same space at the same time with all of the occupants inside, suddenly going pop
i wish one of our characters was a chronic gambler
nothing says hackett wasnt
wouldve been easier to absorb myself into the environmental story telling
I mean, there's nothing saying they werent
put that on skibidi
dauda gambling on the life of his experiments
or the two schaffers playing blackjack till death or the jungle planet team playing card games to stay entertained
REAL
in a heavy technicality, the team that goes to the jungle planet with one of the companys leads, was said to have at least one woman, so humanity can restart.
Not really
Not big enough DNA pool
i ssaid with a heavy technicality, cause the woman might've just died at some point to any number of things and the dna pool thingy
should i remind u the almost entirety of kds is there too
kds deep
with probably a lot of hydrokinetic liquid
they dont have the stuff needed to pull them out of it, cause in one of the logs when schaffer does it without the liquid, the kso dies fast to say the least.
Do we even have what it's needed to wake them up?
And not get a second Maddox incident
the kds operative immediately went batshit insane
they first probably know as they are scientist after the rapture and second could have come with the chunk of kds deep
its kds deep how would they not have hydrokinectic liquid
the hell does hydrokinectic mean
hydrokinetic liquid is the thing that helps them awake normally and not go batshit insanse
we collect a hydrokinetic fluid collection case for schaeffer in r7b1
so he could wake up henrikkson
uh uh same thing
he sounded pretty crazy
u kno
jumping to kill schaeffer n shit
skill issue
closest thing to it is hypokentic which means abnormally decreased movement, or a movement disorder
hydrokinetic relates to hydro-water kinetic-movement fluid-fluid
so technically its energy converted into liquid from plants

the ones in the question are all reall nebulae
i presumed so lol

"Neural chip"
There are 32,000 of us
And the universe is post-apocalyptic
It's why all of our guns are trash
Warden is making do with scraps and repurposing stuff
I'd argue if they have the money to RnD a chip that turns you into a slave they can afford some gopros
Nah like
Originally
Biocom
For that I can't say.
Perhaps the fact that the scene pictured is so dark, is the issue
Kovac and the KSOs predate Warden controlling us, so it's insane to me to think the optimal way to feed info back to a handler was through an eyeball
But under normal lighting it would see more
Biocom likely had other ways, too
Like the hearsay network to track our positions, or other senses via the chip
It never really had to worry about us
We cannot disobey it, like, physically, at all
And we do exactly as programmed
Nothing more, nothing less
I might be misunderstanding then
Under biocom, we were like genuine robots
Was biocom an ai running the teams?
One log describes a KSO being ordered to stand in a broom closet for 20 minutes. This was when warden was first learning the system
Another has Bishop standing on the EF01 launch pad for hours waiting to be carted back to deep by kovac staff
Motionless and without speaking
Yes
Okay, that makes more sense then
Biocom ran all 32,000 KSOs within the complex
An AI doesn't need eyes like that
Kovac designed it along side legion
Dreyfus alone owns half the companies on the planet
Kovac literally had governmental control over the yucatan
They bought it from mexico
The entire peninsula
Is GTFO commentary on unchecked late stage capitalism?
It would be if everyone wasn't already dead
Moreso corporate greed
Seriously though, read the for dummies docs in the pins.
It's what they are there for
Bro.... God help you
If something had letters and multiple pages I have to be in the mood for it, unironically
Oh we're probably the dead opposite
If I find a log in the terminals in game I open it for the achievement and do not read that mf lmao
Well let me put it this way, it's impossible to learn the lore by yourself
what is this lore activity? Lores not dead?
And walking through garganta
You missed the quiz cubix!
F for you!
yeah i saw
Truly unfortunate
How much minutia does GTFO lore have
What does minutia mean
Do they ever explain how ETC tech got advanced enough to be used in man portable weaponry?
Literally; small, precise, and trivial details
I don't know what etc means, but no.
ETC is Hel weapons
Some of it insanely, some of it not at all
Electrothermal-chemical (ETC) technology is an attempt to increase accuracy and muzzle energy of future tank, artillery, and close-in weapon system guns by improving the predictability and rate of expansion of propellants inside the barrel.
An electrothermal-chemical gun uses a plasma cartridge to ignite and control the ammunition's propellant, ...
Gtfo goes to all sorts of twisty corners
Answer is still no
Shame
It just is
But we do know a bunch about the ancient 16th century Mayan civilization
They fought the virus and somehow fuckin won
Or at least made it a draw
Since they died out, but the earth didn't go extinct
Who would've guessed you only need a macuahuitl to fuck up sleepers
They describe fighting "flea demons", Ala the parasite and the sleepers
Though the sleepers they would have fought, none would have been human
I mean unironically how the fuck do you explain the mayans winning
It's funny to think hammerstein and his expeditions could have encountered sleeperified mayans
A lot of self sacrifices.
Going down knowing you can't go back up because you'd be infected
Sending soldiers into the caves to take as many with them as possible, suicide missions
I mean
Alright look at it this way
How did the mayans manage to beat it back when Kovac/Santonian/whatever the conglomerate with tens of thousands of biological weapons and presumably infinite money couldn't?
We use spears in-game as a melee option... imagine them dealing with the equivalent of a blood door or scout wave... Melee only
Just fucking chads.
Perhaps they did run out
That's it. That's the meme. Gigachad mayans.
They DID run out.
Canonically, it is what caused the IRL fall and disappearance of the civilization
Or rather, they were much, MUCH more concerned about the sleepers than the conglomerates did
And engaged in strategies that simply sealed those that fought the sleepers and the sleepers themselves away
The superbug log talks about this
Gtfo but you play as the mayans?
GTFO but in R8 there's a sleeper t rex
I mean... it's mega fucking unlikely but the vessel's crashing did wipe them out...
Maybe one or two made it down there before they died of starvation
Oh my God I was guessing it was the asteroid that wiped the dinos it came down on
I'm right?
Except it wasn't an asteroid in the gtfo universe. It was the collector's ship
The collectors had on board the virus, the parasite, and tons and tons of catalogued species
And crashed
Santonian thought their ship was a vein of iridium, and dug into it
On Earth
That's how it got out
Lame as fuck ngl
We don't get to see them either
Like unironically wildly lame
We never get to go to the ship
As far as we know the warden is the last "living" collector
He could be dead for all I care, I just want to see one, yk?
Granted the corpses in this game are kinda low quality models sometimes
That is what caused the holes we drop down into too, btw
The ship crashing?
During insight's expeditions, they accidentally triggered one of the ship's weapons systems
According to the logs, the blasts burned at a temperature only thought to have occurred during the big bang...
Yeah well
If the alien species was so advanced whyd they crash land and doom us, huh?
Don't drink and fly.
You ever watch Pandorum?
The ship drifted for a time, and eventually fell into our orbit
Never heard of it.
Tbh I think you'd like it
But the scenario reminds me a lot of john carpenter's the thing
2009 Sci Fi horror, dude wakes up out of cryogenic stasis to find himself on a mostly abandoned ship with a bunch of "things"
Think you'd like it tbh
Kinda Event Horizony
Talking about what happened to the collectors reminds me of it tbh
There is a whole lot more covered in the docs you won't read.
It's not that I won't
It's that I can't
I'm illiterate
This entire conversation? Long series of good guesswork really.
Now I feel like I'm falling into a bit of a trap here...
Do you mean genuinely illiterate
Or like...
No I'm fucking with you
Are you using TTS?
read the damn docs
I'll answer any questions you have after
Genuinely lack the willpower to physically read prepared documents most of the time
Well good for you to know that they aren't very long
Tbf I don't think the docs would've told me if you've seen Pandorum
Looks interesting. I'll give it a watch
intresting
lol
frosty urges someone to read for 10 minutes straight
Accents are weird to describe in text and all of the main gtfo team members have different ones
Most of the voice actors in the audio logs sound either British or American
Other then that, the logs have really good quality to them.
which of Dauda, Bishop, Hacket and the other one is considered the "best" from a moral point?
bishop but it is very variable as we dont fully everything that he did
technically he just blackmailed his millionare boss, but he couldve done more
as the official page states "he'd rob, kidnapped and destroy" or something like that
Bishop. Easily.
couldnt thatve been "faked" or is it confirmed true lore?
Compared to woods, who murdered dozens in the name of god... Hackett who casually slaughtered a whole village, and dauda's... experiments
It is still canon.
It's just never been elaborated on
fair
** BISHOP, FRANK GO-1395
A lifetime ago, Frank Bishop made a losing bet. He’d robbed, kidnapped, and trafficked in a bid for fortune and power.
This time, it was blackmail, but things didn’t go to plan. His target turned the tables, condemning him to years of brutal captivity.
The torture and deprivation he endured ended with Bishop suffering an even worse fate: Hydrostasis.
Now, unable to remember the man who destroyed him, he’s left with only the rage and mistrust that sustained his tragic existence.
**
tyty
Out of the 4, it would be bishop as from whats known only did attempted blackmail on his boss, while the other 3 have committed mass murder in the name of god, slaughtered an entire village casually, and then theres dauda...
according to frostty he did a bit more but true
Yes he did do more, but the people who the boss worked for couldve done that to give more evidence on his shite
Essentially they could've edited it to paint him in a worse light.
fair
I mean kovac/the other 2 companys have done worse
kovac is the prison company and whats the other two?
Santinon mining, the company behind garganta and its construction, and then theres the third one who I canr remember the name of
aight
Dreyfus
There might've only been two but there were three main leaders, those being hammerstein, stoakes, and durant but he ended up on jungle planet.
who owns Santonian Mining Co, Santonain Strategic Investments, and Project Insight
then there is also Kovac Defense Services, who owns Kovac Research
then there is also Nyxos
Or destination depending on which one of worldlines it is, whether its alt or og
Which is the planet at the heart of a butterfly nebula and made of sand dunes and beautiful skies
the place after you betray your counterparts im guessing
Yes, in r8e2 after we betray alt team and make the jump to the clean worldline, it turns out to be the jungle planet.
yea that one
Cause we hear the voice of durant right as the game fades to black.
doesnt he tell them that the entire place is trapped?
Also weird fact, that planet would have two daudas on it no matter what, yes he does
Cause the one that comes back in the alt worldline is not the one that goes there
paradoxical
you mean bishops?
insight
Gtfo has a fuck ton of paradoxes, just look at the two teams of near identical people existing at the same time, oh yeah not dauda its bishop
yes
not paradoxes given it is different universes
i mean not really, depending on how you look at it. it just dragged a bunch together
it probably left a bunch of chunks in spacetime, but in general its a mesh
Which considering multiple universes or worldlines merging, must've fused many planets and stars into each other resulting in a said paradox of boom
aren't prisoners just cured sleepers
or they haven't gotten infected
I think it's more of being cured by henrikson
They cant due to constantly going in and out of cryostasis which puts them in a state on the verge of death.
They arent cured though
the damage they sustain every mission slowly builds up.
the virus kills you over the course of an average of five weeks.
we are out of stasis for a couple hours at a time on average
Lore wise, who are the strongest enemies in gtfo
Krakens
so we are slowly dying to it's damage
I remember calcing it for pablo before with @karmic vale mine math
pablo actually tanks way more funnily enough
keep in mind, kraken does get countered by hybrids
Does strongest include durability
Krakens are fuck off massive bits of infected flesh
pablo in theory has to be incredibly dense and incredibly strong to carry itself around (likely)
kraken are definetly 2nd imo
hybrids are fast enough dodgers and they can spew massive dps into kraken
Against a tank or pablo it could just crush them or pulverise it to death
you could probably kill pablo with an anti-tank shell. the kraken... not so much
they are too squishy. they get chipped by flyers (reminder on the kraken melee)
why cant a trillion mines kill pablo
pablo tanks gtfo mines multiple hundred times over without taking dmg
Kraken is too bad against mines, he dodges them
Also how it can command flyers and other sleeper types
iirc pablo can take a mine x 50.000% or smth before taking ANY damage
wait rly?
we don't know.
something like that
you basically have to nuke pablo
dont they just have a mind of their own?
wait does the kraken get flyers? does the kraken actually spawn fliers or is it that fliers are around the kraken when u fight him?
it spawns them in r6d1 and r8e2
r6b2 kraken doesnt have them tho. So its a tier down
In its fights, a constant swarm of flyers just spew out at the target so maybe
thx
less than that % doesn't even leave a scratch
That is if pablo can even reach the kraken to attack it
kraken is stupid for exposing its weak spot
i don't think that's very realistic at all. for gameplay purposes, you aren't intended to kill him
realistically with enough force you should be able to
will probably get stuck on a random wall
iirc that roughly translated to about it tanking 20-40 anti tank mine
The kraken can fly around with flyers to hit pablo long enough for it to either walk off the edge or die.
and it only takes 1/10.000.000 of its hp as damage
immovable object vs untargetable object
We don't know is it the true form of pablo or he was going easy on us
but pablo has insane durability feats
i feel unwell... i'm going to stop chatting for now
what about mega mom vs a kraken tho? can the kraken even hit the bottom tumors to kill the mega mom?
Against giant tentacles, the size of a school bus, no
yes
he feels a bit stupid in r7e1
Id argue its less stupidity and that he has to have a small brain to move around with
does megamom even have any lore to her
Out of curiosity how are you translating this
yea: not as breedable as a bbc
pablo takes 0% from any of the krakens attacks (or flyers)
she just was there
yeah so basically ur mum accidentally fell into the complex
If we're doing this, who would win schaffer with his trusty lead pipe or any of the main 4 in hand to hand combat
Small brain makes him stronger, just remember how he refuse to jump up ladders and just walks on them in sideways
rough math with general anti person mine compared to the mine dmg necessary (in explosive force) to amount of explosives in said mine compared to anti tank mine
schaffer 100%
Bucket
@frigid slate me
no like
pablo doesnt take any damage from anything ingame unless you krank up the numbers massively
Alright, lemme do some math on an apfsds round rq
id say main 4
we actually fight our way through, he often hid and went through vents
yeah hes a PUSSY
In a lore perspective
how would a tank vs mom fight go
i assume tank will have trouble hitting in the fog (same for babies tho)
For the team, We can break a solid steel soor with a sledgehammer in a few swings translate that to force and you get alot, add on how tanks and mothers can be killed with a spear. For og Schaffer hes only killed alt Schaffer, if you let him do it, and the conduit along with probably a few sleepers.
mom just runs away and births
every enemy bar pablo can be killed with a melee weapon
Uh. What's even evolutional purpose for mom to be able to spread fog
So In my opinion, the member of the gtfo team kicks og Schaffers ass
Defence mechanism
indigestion
agree
I feel mom only would have a chance if she could pre birth a bunch
But usually defense mechanisms appear due to year of evolution and the threat of a greater predator
and even then tank likely squashes babies
shooter
Shooters don't need to see you tho
id assume the fog is for smth that is no longer necessary potentially
and they have homing projectiles
but yea pablo has highest durability feat
kraken could have higher strength feat, but we lack any I think? Or is there smth in lore?
hybrid best dps
So, unless I'm wrong(which is possible) your average 120mm apfsds round should have something like 8million megajoules of force behind it
Sounds about right
Little under 20kg moving at roughly 5800kph muzzle velocity
Which I personally think would fuck a tank up
tank isnt pablo tho tbf
I'd have to find the exact joules of what the mines in GTFO are to give a like
Accurate comparison
But anti personal mines don't normally output more then like, 1000 joules of force to my knowledge

arent apfsds round very concentrated in force tho?
gtfos sleepers can be described as "I have no mouth but I must scream"
I dunno about that
to be that robust
pablo would need to be super dense
reminder
he takes 1/10.000.000 of his hp in dmg from a 400 times dmg boosted mine
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It would for sure do smth tho
I'm just a treadhead and figured I could do some math for fun rq tbh
That's not like, the crazy shit we've made either fwiw
Cold war era 140mms are something the fuck else
drop a tsar bomba on pablo
With NAM-V, death isnt permanent
Sub-Calibre AP rounds are, essentially, what they say on the label - the penetrator itself is of a smaller calibre than the gun barrel, using a sabot to make up the calibre difference. How the sabot is handled is dependent on the type of round - it may be either discarding or non-discarding. Sub-calibre rounds sacrifice post-penetration effectiveness for high round velocities and high penetration values.
APFSDS is the pinnacle of the kinetic anti-armour rounds. As with APDS, APFSDS utilises an extremely hard penetrator and a discarding sabot, however the penetrator is usually significantly longer than that of APDS and incorporates fins for improved long-range ballistics. The additional penetrator length improves the post-penetration damage effects. APFSDS rounds are the most powerful kinetic rounds.
would pablo just get a piercng?
I think it depends on how dense you consider pablo
The more material apfsds has to shred through the more it spalls and actually does damage
If pablo was paper thin it'd just go right through
Without knowing wtf the density of pablo is idk
the density of pablo is pablo
Yes
tbf im just presuming the density cuz otherwise we have to assume hes made of some weird material thats not dense but super tough (or hard to damage)
based on numbers his feats are insane
I mean at the end of the day he's made of like
Rotting corpses and gameplay abstractions
Right?

Maybe he's turbo dense congealed flesh lmao
Unironically that's what I was thinking of
When you play on zealot or later in game when the darker tougher necros show up
All things considered I would like to shoot pablo with an abrams
For science
It's time to leak military documents to see which country has the best AP rounds
Make this next warthunder forums
warning: war thunder player
documents will get leaked in gen chat
What idea would that be
Alright, my turn for a question

Do we have any lore of the prosthetics in game that pop up on skins sometimes? The legs are pretty normal but the hand is fascinating to me for a few reasons.
It's like, a proper robot hand
i mean its prob cuz of injuries or just cuz of infection
just seems like raw asthetics
no lore involved
Nah I get that
One of the audio logs wont stop playing
But like, the fact that we're 1. Worth that sort of thing and 2. That's particularly high tech for us
Fucking did it
Outside the hel weapons a lot of what we use it's pretty low tech garbage tbh
gtfo takes way in the future
so its pretty reasonable they would have that
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I guess, it just seems notable within the context of the game
the real question is who gave u the prothestics if ur character doesnt spawn with one
We play as the team that beats every mission thrown at us, I think giving us one of those things cause it went missing is reseanoble.
depends on context no?
Yeah, that's reasonable
idt the apparel is part of the lore
I mean yeah
But contextually the robot hand feels like it's on a higher level of tech then most stuff we get
I dont think so tbh
Iirc the team has a set look the entire game
I'm definitely overthinking the hand, but it's one of those small details that brings me in
There is little to none missions we've failed, only examples I can think of is us disobeying our orders and disabling the chip during r8 which is failing the mission technically, or alt team being betrayed which fails their mission due to not surviving.
Iirc that's non canon anyway
No its canon
Neat, was told it wasn't
It comes up on the in game hud as our mission and says survive, and alt team dying then is canon cause it happens at the same time as og team fucking booking it to the teleporter.
With sleepers, snatchers and whatever else you've got on your tail during r8e2
I'm sure I'll actually see it eventually
Once I finish R4E1 PE I think I'm content with having gone in order
Trust me when I say this r8 is a fucking hellhole and depending on what actions you do in a run of certain missions, it can end it right then.
Tbf that's just playing GTFO with pubs anyway
At the toss of a coin and its flip, the run can just go boom. Like theres a mission with an overflow and secondary
So it goes up to like an e mission if you do that overflow.
Tbh I've been told R8 is a hellhole cause of optimization
I'm sure it'll be a great time lmao
Oh and that, I've seen in peoples r8e2 runs them not being able to open the map because its lagging that bad
Or one of them or all of them being able to go through a none existing wall to cheese a section, or falling straight into the void cause of a different non existing wall.
Oh yeah, it'll be fun lmao
Or the audio completely fucking breaking cause they set off too many of the screamer enemies (I forgot their name)
Cheese what section?
Pablo might be a lot more "durable" but krakens are way stronger
They can not only shoot constantly but also command hundreds of fliers
And krakens can also fly
Pablo is a soldier
Kraken is a massive carrier
During either the overflow part of one mission or during a fuck off level hard holdout, there's a wall that doesn't exist in the area so they did that to cheese the section
Time to mod gtfo to rectify this and give Pablo wings
Thats C1?
Yeah it was, in a part of the mission either during the overflow itself or in a room where you have to do a crud ton of scans
Also the reason on his high amount of HP is just gameplay
We are not supposed to kill him and thats it
He is just an armored tank without weak points
his hp could be 1 and he wouldnt die still
he has ungodly amounts of hp and armour which rounds dmg to 0
Gameplay not the same as lore
I'm of the opinion pablo doesn't need to die if you remove his limbs through sheer kinetic force
Krakens are way stronger lorewise
vs wiki uses feats (through statements or seen)
maybe the lore reason for him not dying is that he reforms around dmg?
He is going to roll over to your position :)
Imagine Pablo nugget propelling itself with its tentacles at you lmao
also id argue removing his limbs would mean he takes dmg no?
so how would you remove them
The lore reason would be most likely be he has better armor than other tanks so convetional weapons dont work against him
we lack statements sadly
the dude takes 1 10millionth of his hp in dmg
from a 40 times damaged amped mine explosion
One, how the fuck would a tank turn into a missile, two how.
Gameplay
Not the same
As lore
Tbf it's more of an ingame lacks dismemberment thing imo
Games are not acurrate to lore
NEVER
if GTFO was lore acurrate one giant hit would be enough to crush our skull
game feats still are taken into account for vs battles and the like
not necessarily ngl

their body structure doesnt have to be the same as ours in relation
Uh
That doesnt change the fact the are hella strong
And one slap would be fatal for us
If gtfo was irl giant windmills unironically are breaking some bones
A lot more than just 40HP
It might not kill you but christ would it suck lmao
breaking some bones is likely quite similar to 40%
Depends on the bone tbh
the unrealistic thing is game hp
My dad is much stronger than me but I survived being hit
A rib? Maybe
One leg or arm? Maybe a bit more
I've broken my ankles, I'd call that like 15 percent ngl, when I broke my pinky I'd unironically call that like 2 percent hp damage
That's how my pinky finger was tbh
Get a better pinky toe
It does
frank has and others are humanoids ; bones flesh ligaments etc… If anything the force applied on hit should be harder due to the scale of frank and the force and mass applied
aka physics and ouchy ouchy
In other words: getting hit is bad
Fun fact, there are so many nuclear reactors in garganta
yes
Getting hit by frank would be fucked up
bones, flesh and ligaments dont translate to the same force
Now imagine a tank
they definetly hit hard
I will be blunt : do you think you can survive a frank hit directly in the head
You as a human can bruise someone's heart punching center ribcage hard enough
you a person
you would be unconscious
and have internal bleeding
and fractures and everything
you would not live
One singular hit from either a giant or a tank is putting you straight into the forever box.
not to mention prisoners have helmets
Tbh even if you survived one I imagine the concussion would mean another is inbound shortly
You think some bones will be able to take a direct without fatal injuries?
the argument isnt that
also headhits are generally scary, you can die from a normal guys hit there
the argument is that giants might not have the same structural build so they could hit harder or weaker. we dont rly know
They can break through foots of solid fucking steel as proven in one of the dauda logs. Not to mention the rest of what they're shown to be capable of
There's no way a giant is swinging weaker tbh
or the other scenario is that the scale of frank would make it so that its limbs would blow up in high velocity impacts (e.g. my head)
Yes
A Security door in a log about Dauda when he was in KDS Deep
honestly thats a fun lore explanation and kinda fits with their limbs exploding "easily"
we hear strikers giants and i think a hybrod
Yes
hybrid blast surely
What Slendo said

And it is true in real life too. Whales and elephants pop like balloons when they fall in greater heights, as gruesome as it sounds.
But in the case of small critters like bugs, mice, ect. They barely get hurt when falling
conclusion : frank is a balloon animal
no like
the projectiles (are they acid?)
We don't know what the projectiles are
alien origin
They could be spikes made of bones or flesh
the projectiles are uh flying nuts
probably a chemical reaction
A chemical projectile that is formed not via hormones but formed during stress
prolly with the use of acids and/or proteins
Going now to the original convo
Kraken > Pablo
I know a few people whod say its a potato
If you give me a minute I can get the dauda audio log that has the sleepers being able to break security doors.
You know
It makes more sense how Garganta collapsed
i think the sleepes are more compacts than frank and that would explain them being the most numerous bunch
behind a door
because you only see 1-2 giants in a blood door
but crap ton of smalls
Shit where did it go
tanks are rigid
they’re built like, well, tanks
maybe the rigid and more enduring enemies break the doors
while frank and others wait
sort of order in door breaking
Eeeh i always imagined tanks would be the ones in charge of breaking the doors/walls and rushing first while the other enemies follow behind
yeah the rigids go first then the squishies follow suit
frank is squishy but exerts extreme force into hits
I had the log downloaded as a wav file but now its gone
Got it
That log has really bad starting audio it balances out near the middle and right near the end you hear them
You would expect KDS Deep mics to have better quality
IN MY FINAL HOUR- DOCTOR DAUDA IS REVEALED AS A COWARRRRDDDDD!!!!!
i love daudas voice actor so much <3 its sO GOOD
my fav line of gtfo
Dauda might be a coward and a fucking bastard, but hes got a very nice voice
And has the shakiest set of ethics I've ever seen
go put them in
Look for videos with the section the voice line comes from
And boom or whatever the fuck
game files or or videos or record them urself
holy-- that voice acting is good
btw where do you guys get these wav files from?
All that static is also voice acting trust
0:00 Woods
2:22 Dauda
4:54 Hackett
7:31 Bishop
I got that one from the lore master frostty.
I also have one of the two Schaffer metal pipe ones
And another dauda one
ooo mind sharing them to me please?
Uhh sure
That is the one where he beats the conduit to fucking death.
Correction I dont have another dauda one, its just a weird audio log from og r2
Is the ending supposed to be them breaking down a security door?
Yeah, it is. That sound at the end is sleepers breaking down the door after dauda gets inside the hsu
is that confirmed with an audio to text log?
Cuz them getting inside could have been through vents or similar things no?
Its the same sound as a Security blood door
What other confirmation do you need
And KDS Deep doesnt have normal doors
Them scratching the door yea
but if I knock on your door and then you hear a crash and im inside
Does that mean I broke the door or could I have come in through the window
KDS deep also doesnt have broken security doors
You can HEAR them breaking the door
KDS Deep is huge
Theres multiple ways to enter
No?
You can hear static and them then pouring in
As we see in E2/E1
fair
E2/E1/E1 :^ )
That MASSIVE sound of static is them breaking the door
Mic quality sucks
unless thats confirmed from a text form of said log
Then thats not proof?
we know theres other ways
I'm going to blow up
good point for smth that has no real proof
Im not saying they did not break the door
Im saying, unless we have proof, then we dont know
In ALTR5 we don't hear that "door" since Woods. Bishop and Hackett end up killing the enemies outside and going into KDS Deep
Then they encounter with Dauda
what
yeah, it was my best guess with what i had
Dauda
If anyone finds this, we are no longer in control. The creatures have overrun us. The power is turning off in every sector. The security doors have all been locked. There is no way to the surface. We are trapped. I have followed a group of security operatives to a location called KDS Deep. It is so big; I cannot see the length of it. There are several guards waiting here. Every few moments, a mechanical arm delivers an empty hydrostasis unit. The guards climb into it, and then the arm takes them away into the darkness.
[The mechanical arm brings another HSU.]
Woods
Bishop, you're up.
Bishop
Yes.
[Bishop enters an HSU and is taken away.]
Dauda
I must talk to them. Come on, Abeo, you can do this.
Woods
Hackett!
Hackett
'Bout fucking time.
Dauda
Hello! Please do not shoot me!
Woods
Identify yourself!
Hackett
Who the fuck are you?
Dauda
I am Dr. Abeo Dauda! I am not a threat to you!
Hackett
You are not supposed to be here. Leave, now. I won't tell you twice.
Dauda
Please, the creatures, they are everywhere. If you do not—
Hackett
Your choice—
Dauda
No! Please—
Woods
Stop!
Hackett
What the fuck are you doing Woods? The stack is clear.
Woods
Exfil, soldier.
Hackett
Your lucky day.
[Hackett enters an HSU and is taken away.]
Dauda
What are you going to do to me?
Woods
Get in.
Dauda
Into… into this?
Woods
Yes.
Dauda
I—
Woods
Or you can die, brother.
Dauda
Okay… okay… okay.
Dauda
What will happen to us? Are we going to be evac—
[The HSU closes.]
Woods
Stack update. New resource designation. T-3701, assigned. Extract.
[Dauda's HSU is taken away.]
hmm
.
Hmmmmmm?
Its the same context as OG R5A3 but this time Woods and Co are also there
i'm working on a project with the main 4 of alt and og teams, and i can use this.
OG R5 the proof of them breaking a Security door is pretty much the fucking audio you can hear the loud bang clear
In ALT R5 you cant hear that loud ass static noise because theres no enemies out there or most of them were killed by the others already
Makes you think if Woods, Bishop and Hackett had a previous 4th member before Dauda
-
that is not proof
-
this isnt proof either, it just means theres no showcase of it in alt r5
yeah
the loud static and noise can be a multitude of things and doesnt have to be them breaking through a security door
Consider how often did they break a securty door in lore
something that annyos me with a few of the audio logs, is at the start of it how the audio can sound really weird
Scuff
2050 Xbox mic quality
Some things never change
like in that dauda one, you can barely hear him over the static or in the schaffer beating the conduit to death log, schaffer at the start is quiet as fuck.
and then suddenly is loud as anything.
which when your trying to listen to them without headphones, can be really awkward
Literally me looking for my headphones to listen a 2min audio log
did there group only have 3 operatives?
Yeah
It was only Bishop, Woods and Hackett at first
They probably met during Garganta collapse
i thought it was supposed to be 4 normally?
You are correct
did the 4th die before?
However at this point in the story everyone is dying, theres no resources etc
Everyone is teaming with however they find
ah, so that group of 4 wasnt in place yet
And since all KSOs had the same objective stack
Would make sense they found each other and decided to move as a team
ape together strong
Yep
Also that log tells us how Woods had certain "freedom" to choose not to kill Dauda
Unless the warden changed his stack right there before Dauda went into the HSU
(Woods stack changed after Dauda entered)
to update to the groups of 4 thing
Did the warden know that at the time?
or just sort of lucky given the multiverse thing
The Warden can communicate with other themselves from other Worldlines and also had access to Biocom
He either learn it from another Warden or read the logs about the perfect team
Interesting
if ur wondering the implications of door breaking lore-gameplay wise, take it as in we havent seen them breaking through normal sec doors cuz they never need to
blood door enemies are passive since its been probs years since they been there
most sectors we visit have sleeping enemies as they probs werent enough and maybe they fell asleep until the doors closed due to a lockdown
alarm levels, is always us who trips the alarm in the first place so they dont have time to gather up
and we see a lot of spaces where the walls caved in in levels that couldve had broken sec doors but were just blocked off
Real actual reason: no budget
hmm
I don’t know if I would call that passive as they scream and bang against it
not rlly a scream
Yelling?
loudish noise is erupted from whatever is remaining of their lungs
The old lighting system looks really cool
