the story of Durant is told exclusively through the logs, and some of it is no longer in-game as far as I am aware.

In the original worldline, he led the first expedition to a different worldline. this expedition took him to Destination, where he and his team died to either the floaters, starvation, or worse, as the time desync of destination compared to earth proved too significant. For example, Bishop was a part of EF01. According to stokes, from the lauch of the expedition to the time he returned on the launch platform alone, a period of roughly two weeks had passed. To him, and on Destination, he had been surviving for a little over two years. It is why the plants Durant had sent through just the day before the launch of EF01 were all dead and decayed, and looked like they had been dead for a really long time.

in ALT:// EF01 functions mostly the same, except Durant ended up on the Jungle Worldline/Planet, and the only one known to be entirely clean of the virus and parasite (NAM-V and Parasitidae Garganta). EF01 launched just before NAM-V began to run rampant in the complex, so he likely juust made it through before he and his team were infected themselves, so they were likely the safest humanity had ever been from the virus and its universe-destroying potential.
