Through my experiments, I have discovered the virus has a multipronged attack strategy, which not only increases the R0, but also allows it to be highly contagious in multiple environments. Infected individual can release create pathogens and fomites through any bodily fluid. if the collection was not the virus, then the goal of the warden/collectors would most likely to be to help our squad escape to a clean worldline.
however it is in my personal opinion that the collection being the virus/parasite is more likely.

because we have been betrayed by the warden before, and the fact we were slaves to it that it would throw into deadly expeditions with little regard for our safety, why care about us escaping now?

personally I think the warden growing a concious or whatever is a bit of BS.

i think it simply wanted us to all die so the worldline could become purely infected, as us and schaeffer were one of only a few likely surviving non-infected on the planet.

the wrench is, the OG team and OG schaeffer, broke free of the warden in OGr7 so the alt//warden couldn't account for them, and even moreso after OG remove their chips in the second half of r8.

Other Tropics can be woven inbetween for a more fluent Transition. For example you Could start Off with Garganta and affiliated Corpos mentioning the ship as the Source of the Virus, to Move to the Virus/Parasite slides.
Also Warden were nowhere mentioned, what Could have been a tie between Kovacs, who we are, the Project Rise and the Collectors.

But other than that, it is phenominal Work, great job

...We have reached Garganta and have established a base camp on what used to be the sea floor. It's... disconcerting, knowing that the only thing holding back the entire ocean are these concrete walls. It feels like they might cave in at any moment. The entrance to the mine is drill hole into the bedrock. I'm guessing it's about 100 feet across. Looking into the hole is... unnerving, but impressive. None of us are excited about having to go down there. There's a smell coming up from that bottomless black pit. We know what it is, but we're not talking about it. There are 3 freight elevators around the perimeter of the opening. There's also several satellite buildings under the shadow of the sea walls: a triage center, a few military huts and a barracks, security checkpoints around each elevator, an area that looks like holding or containment cells, and storage depots. There's no people here. No bodies, nothing. If they evacuated the facility they left a lot behind - including a fueled Chinook. Captain Puente has stayed up at sea level. He said the men won't come down here. I don't blame them...
