That's a point for sure, it's just the rupture disk portion of the gun (a metal disk used to build up the pressure of the gas until it breaks the disk, releasing the gas to accelerate the projectile) seems hard to implement into a magazine fed weapon

Thing is this is super logical. It penetrates flesh really well cause it's soft, but likely also does less damage cause the bullet passes through so cleanly

It's not confirmed, but it's my headcanon for what c3 was.
