Well what is it a zoo of then
everything ELSE.
humanity, other biological organisms, what the collectors are collecting
the bodies that the fliers, kracken, came from, had to be organisms at one point
I thought the log said "we collect the virus" or smhn
perhaps uninfected versions of those?
or they're trying to use RISE to make bodies that are totally immune to the virus
I wonder what an uninfected flyer would look like. Or the kraken, god that thing is hideously mutated
Probably a whale like creature of some sorts
My thoughts were always cuttlefish because of the skeletal (or cartilage?) Structure
Actually, it could also be a series of assimilated fauna
Still don’t have a good enough crew to see it in game though
I usually wind up playing solo
Ehhhhh I reckon the surge would be hell
If there's one thing bots know how to do is to how to scan.
Lol, I’m still having trouble with surges and errors
Are there surges on D1?
Need to get familiar with a knife so I can handle those
If there's one thing the bots know how to do its to how to die at inconvenient times
Yep
The pit before the TP room
That was a surge? I genuinely didn't notice.
It's like a class 6 surge
The enemies just have to run down 3 flights of stairs to get to you between respawns
Yep
What is respawn delay?
idk I can check
which alarm?
which alarm of R6D1 tho
Class 6
apex?
yuh
we got it
and 15s every wave
Yeah, that's pretty standard. Huh. Guess I was wrong
The room is the main enemy
Sniper sentry goes into the trash
Not long enough corridors
and as long as you can do the kraken fight on 15 health its easy
its easier
than doing intended route
i fucked up reactor with bots
and with skipping it i did it first try
fair
Got to have that on site nuclear warhead
i mean we kinda do
im sure there are enough nuclear reactors in garganta to equal a nuke
Truer words have never been spoken
Each reactor equals a nuke lol
I think we had taken a guess at how many nuclear reactors there was i think we got to around 20?
well the ingame ones dont seem to be full sized ones
We never see the full extent of them, we only see the control rooms
Which what facility needs that much power?
this was literally the plot of Frostty's modded rundown XD
i think
a giant ass mining facility?
with labs
and a giant AI
and with a shit ton of HSU pods
You don’t need that may nuclear reactors
A single power plant can power a city of 50,000 I think
i feel like the reactors in Garganta are defo not full sized regular reactors
but also with the size and scale of the garganta operation
Biocom probably sucks up the equivalent of Europe in terms of power
yeah that too
maybe not entirety of Europe
cause believe me or not
that would be a lot of power
What if electro from spiderman was sucking up all the power for the least few decades?
And then the big reveal is that it's part of marvels cinematic universe
And then a 2 hour long cutscene plays
lmao, yeah. squads sent in to a B-site that went dark to prime reactors for remote detonation and/or backup start the timer on the thernomuclear warhead to destroy the site before the parasite gets out
if so, im gonna find the 10 chamber writers and throw them off the biggest building in sweden
wich is funny, since the parasite is already out
But not in the OG timeline
we gotta appreciate their effort am i right frosty?
ehh, PT started development before alt// came out
yeah
also frosty didnt you just say the parasite was already out in pt?
or am i delusional
yeah. i didn't write it into og worldline canon, its its own worldline to give me freedom while developing its story
imo in-canon worldlines is excellent for modders with custom rundowns
This gives me an idea for an April fools campaign
tbh with you sounds like a transmission of a pulse like what you would get without waking a room like he/her is sneaking around
I think it would be a good idea if you could access any discovered lore logs from a section on the rundown menu. So that you could replay them outside of missions, I feel like newer players would be more insentivised to find them all if we could view them later.
Just a thought
Not all of the logs are in the game to begin with.
Not to mention the especially problematic ones like the cipher logs that took the lore community as a whole weeks to crack
(Also many just aren't in the game anymore or are significantly changed in the alt// versions.)
I see, I was just thinking because I wanted to listen to a log I found earlier but didn't want to repeat a long mission to try and find it again. Didn't realize there were that many exceptions.
You can find all logs archived on the wiki.
It's honestly better there for audio logs, as it's ripped straight from the files, no background noise

is Sniper Turet shooting 50 cal?
uh yes
Most likely. At best they get quickwashed by some machinery somewhere.
Considering it shoots basically same bullets and damage as Sniper Rifle - yes.
not most likely, if we had a maintanance guy he is very much dead... or as close as one can be to being dead in the complex
so if we are kept in hydro stasis, we don't shit?
or eat?
I wonder how many missions we need to actually get R&R
the fluid in the HSUs supplies us with nutrients
and we prolly dont have the need to shit cause we do not intake anything that would need to be shit out
what about thirst?
but why keep us in hydrostasis all the time?
and i guess we dont need to pee cause it goes straight into our bloodstream or smth
can Warden afford a logging area?
well what else would we do other than be in HSU?
we operate on orders
without them the operatives would just stand in place
and its just an unneccesary risk cause missions presumably happen in quite big time intervals
do you think they done something to our life expectancy?
i do not believe so, but the HSUs might stop aging
we are immortal age wise them
let's assume a mission is 1 hour long
to us we can do 24 missions in span of what feels like a day
although it seems like after enough time in Hydrostasis a person becomes unusable (prolly cause some sorta brain damage occurs) so they are scrapped
doesn't it say we are unstable in starting screen?
Warden overrides it and redeploys
yeah but it seems like the warden ignores that
prolly cause the warden is in desperate need of operatives
and like even if the statistics dont say we should be deployed, it still does it
its quite probable we are "unimportant resources" to the warden
yeah
these are images of what the warden sees through the chip that is implanted in us
you can see the PDW scope in one of them and a sleeper
so why does the warden need to watch through our eyes?
it was just a function that came in with the chips when they were designed
extra security
and the warden just continoues to use it
warden more so oversees the entire operation
yeah
shown by how it knows about different organic beings and security door overrides n stuff
that feels a lot like Bain from Payday 2
always knowin what to do
same dev
what I can't explain is why some prisoners kill themselves
that isn't mission directive
R1D1 transmission
the r1d1 thing i guess
i mean i guess its more so warden doesnt care
we are not brainless things, we talk we communicate we take decisions
we just follow the basic orders or the warden
u can see by how we talk in game and just operate at our own level
the warden sees a guy dyin? doesnt care, wouldve died in some other way probs
so that one operative decided to go out his way?
might be super faulty and thus can rebel and shoot themselves
seems like it
wether the chip malfunction
or actually going mad
"I can't...I won't make it" bang
yeah might be either
seems deliberate
there is a transmission where the other operatives shoot a guy for not getting in a scan
so we clean up after other teams?
more like just another one that goes into em
cough cough R5B4
Warden must love player team
I read canonically we have a 100% win and survival rate
yeah :]
chadness
and luck
we do get some training injected into us with the chip
plus Woods and Hackett did have militairy experience so they presumably had talent
and also we didnt forget everything
the characters still have... well character
also its possible our memories of the time in the complex get saved on the chips
meaning we might have simply been a team for a good while and got experience from it
how does Warden change our gear?
we most likely have it come down a seperate box that we just dont see in gameplay
or smth else that happens offscreen
think so too, we are weaponless when we drop
so weapons are probably stashed behind the drop pod. And dropped once touched down
but Warden is stingy with ammo
we get 60% ish
does he expect us to die?
perhaps
or
it is rationing the ammo
as it does have a finite supply
lurker is lurking in lore chat?
we are expendable were are expected to do are task he dosent care if we die
can't we automate ammo production?
why waste resources on something you dont expect to make it back
true
how it lacks resources
where is it gonna get gunpowder from?
the metal for the shells?
and all the other things a bullet needs
that was unknown until ALT R6
alt r1 had an answer aswell
||in alt R6 it was revealed the warden is a creation of some aliens and it seems to seek to create a portal to a world without the virus||
the log in b1 tells us info
ill get the log real quick
but its prolly just me and not remembering the logs on memory
so Warden wants to save remaining of humanity?
atleast thats what we were told
Or so it claims
could our guys even be rehabilitated if we make it through?
or we get locked up in a mental hospital?
Maybe some PTSD treatment, but that's about it./
in the virus less dimension
Our guys are monsters, each in their own way.
yeah
This is now normal for them.
if their memories from before becoming KSOs would be returned to them
they would either go insane or just continoue to commit terrible things
and even if not, the time in the complex would have surely distorted their morality and sanity
do you know what our characters did before becoming KSOs?
Dauda ran experiments on humans
yeah, 3 did murders and 1 was a blackmailer
we don't kill eachother
left to right
plus who knows what bishop did in the civil war
so we can coexist
if they would do so, they would doom themselves
I like to think in my head canon there is a life past all of this
a victory for mankind
As long as our guys can get the virus out and teleport without catching it again
But if even one infected human gets through - that world will be lost all the same
the remnants of mankind
"The Virus is the dominant life form in every membrane it occupies"
Nam-V wins. Every single time.
The only victory condition is to not engage - ever.
presumably the presence of nam-v
nam-v is killed by the HSUs
so it prolly shows how much of it was eradicated
in the body
So as long as we are disinfected by HSU we are alive?
sleepers are victims of nam-v and the parasite
nam-v itself just kills
the HSU doesnt exactly disifnect but fuckin kills you, which also happens to kill the virus
oh they get even more funky
can Nam-V get on weapons?
Probably
so gas masks keep us on oxygen?
hard to tell what they do
they might stop the nam-v from getting in
and only let pure air in
or they are a remnant from when the complex was an active mining site and had the risk of heavy metals getting in ones lungs
have you played R2 and beyond yet?
No, only R1
in R2 you'll see what can get in the mask
finishing it tonight
good luck with D1
Also just read up the pinned document of this channel. "Lore for dummies" or something like that.
can I knife shadows?
Our local lore man summarised about everything he could without going into autistic details of everything.
yes
minus ALT R6 which i dont think it was updated with yet
how do I know where the head is?
shine your light
Guess.
and guess
Shine your light, remember where head was, hit there
and if its awake use the bio ping to sorta asses where it can be
Or shine the light and hit it while it still goes through the wake up routine
or use thermal scopes
can I use the crosshair shrinking as idea?
yes
Yes, that's what everyone does
wait so shadows spawn in D1?
Why is the knife so weird?
wdym
looks like a single edged blade where should be a jaged blade
also blade goes back down after the tip
its like 2080 maybe they have a new design
Me thinks that's gonna do the opposite
Probably some utility feature
Maybe you're supposed to put some wedges into it or something
average morning... 228 messages. okay. this is gonna take me a bit.
keep us in working order and controlled (no diseases, injuries, keeping us without memory, etc)
by effects of being near-death, i wouldn't really say "stop", but significantly slowed
I think memories of missions might be kept for experience
iirc class f (faulty) are mostly contaminated hsus themselves. a log also states they were using the body parts from these dead KSOs for transplants. kinda unethical
thats lovely
players are F class?
frosty do you remember what classes did all of the squad members have?
woods is F i think
hackett was os maybe?
or smrh
i dont remember
to make sure we are doing what it says (while we are in range) and to keep an eye on mission progress in case we die or something so the next run can go better with a different squad
we can't really disobey the warden. we are mentally incapable of doing so while within range. our only goals are the stacks.
in the case of schaeffer, it was probably the warden thinking he was dead and not issuing further commands (then schaeffer removed it)
So i suppose the guy that ends himself was prolly so useless the warden allowed him to die
for the most part, yes. you can see that in the rundown screen last transmissions
so why did previous R1D1 operative off himself?
yeah
video game magic
some times, other times its transmissions of our team… somehow
g a m e m a g i c
(we dont know and he couldn't possibly fit equipment in our drop-down-HSUs)
i mean we go down with out equipment on out backs with it sticking out the back of the pod
whatever the collectors want. right now it wants us gone. after that? who knows. we probably will never know.
prolly find a new world to add to the zoo
i wouldn't be so bold... moreso it wants us out of the way of its zoo. like shooing away annoying pests you dont have the energy to really deal with
who?
like ex-vets who cant handle life outside the army
yeah, those the aliens?
even in different worldlines our squadmates are terrible terrible people
dauda's work is much worse than murder. its biological experimentation on unwilling subjects. thats like concentration camp shit
crashed into the earth with the asteroid that doomed the dinos and a super virus on board, then got put into artifical bodies by the warden to go put humans in some sorta zoo
1939 moment
we'd have to find a way to sterilize literally everything we use/take with us for the trip
the game was literally rigged from the start lol
Is GTFO universe worst timeline?
it can get on everything. the only thing that stopped its transmission is by literally having nothing -- the vaccum of space
the ALT timeline is one of the worst
this seems most likely imo
as earth will be forever haunted by nam-v
*she
in og timeline earth just had an mass extinction event
so not super bad
still bad for humans
we know the warden stores some, as we know certain KSO quads were capable of using c-foam launchers despite never being introduced to or knowing the existance of such items
so how is alt worse?
so in main they never did? But you said Humanity is already extinct
not all.
GO - Genesis Operative
T - Tau
F - Faulty
O - ...Sigma?
BISHOP, FRANK GO-1395
HACKETT, AIDEN O-4711
WOODS, ISAIAH F-2056
DAUDA, ABEO T-3701
yep just posted
nam-v reaches the surface either way and masacrates humanity
in alt the parasite also gets out
not really. biocom is just a giant computer.
turning people into sleepers
i'm actually not familiar with this incedent
yeah sigma i think
how would we escape to non extinction dimension?
no, this hell is very real
meaning we are badass motherfuckers.
and then we would need a matter wave projector calibrates for the world we want… which i guess the aliens would have to do
but how can we jump without dooming the next dimension?
its their tech after all
depends. gtfo has many timelines
We would destroy the jump gate after going through it
Other than that
no idea
arent we contaminated?
only nam-v got out. nam-v fucking killed everything. the parasite is required to create sleepers. the parasite keeps these infected hosts (and the virus) alive indefinately
possibly
alien deus ex machina
Naked teleportation, terminator style.
yeah probably
get in an HSU
get in the portal
we'd have to get new data-cubes to get coordinates for a new worldline.
shut it down instantly
so far we've been using the ones insight found
i mean the aliens should know where these are
its their tech
its their idea
this is the biggest point. it'd be really difficult not to
but why virus bomb earth?
yes
it came with the aliens
hard to tell if it was intended or not
the complex is thoroughly contaminated.
yeah, why did the aliens have a Species wipe out virus?
we'd get reinfected just walking to a new jump gate
Either their own problem or some sorta bio weapon
the aliens didnt seem to like the virus either
ah... so thats what that datamined prefab tile is for...
the WHAT
i cannot say.
did i just predict R8
will dm
hm
I will keep fighting until we are home free
you are gonna be fighting for a while
fight our way out of hell
id would be funny if it all ends with another alien ship crashing into the world we escape to
and just fucks us again
yes, they should do
was unintentional it seems most likely. a crashed ship trying to escape destination
i doubt it was intentional. probably snuck onto their ship
given it crashed and as far as we know all the crew died, it probably broke out and infected everyone onboard
and then the aliens casually come back to life
very, but honestly i think the most likely ending is us accidentally bringing nam-v with us and having it end on a cliffhanger
because of how damn viral it is
yeah the characters just fall over and start making sleeper noises
also ofc hackett is sigma as the best character
also notice the classifications are GTFO
yeah i know
neat little thing.
the true reason for the title
get the fuck out
also i wonder how do the classes get given (other than the faulty one which is quite obvious)
is T for people who worked in the complex before?
its spread out across a number of different logs. we have... very limited descriptions of the classifications
**Subject: Behavioral anomalies among Sigma gen
Ms. Klein,
I recommend only using Tau gen until we have fully investigated the issue with Sigma gen. The Pretoria lab is running some tests on our GOs and our remaining Sigmas to isolate the behaviors you mentioned. A few questions:
-
Can you send photos of the self-harm you indicated with 0-2056? We need to confirm if the scarring is indiscriminate or definitely religious. Our records show this operative has exhibited similar behavior before, despite multiple resets.
-
The head banging behavior is known in toddlers, but we did not see that behavior in any of the Genesis Operatives. Does it start immediately after resuscitation, or after some period of time? I would like video evidence for the records and a more detailed report please.
-
Can you send me a list of the operatives you marked as faulty and sent to recycling? We track both organ and tissue stocks here so we can trace the history should we need it.**
**Subject: Psychological encoding
Mr. Johanson,
With regards to the psychological matching of our operatives, we have found that each designation has a tendency to take a specific role within the quad. Genesis often establish themselves as leaders within a few minutes, as is to be expected with the increased 5-HT receptors. The designations do allow for flexibility of course. We have several quads where operatives marked as Faulty have assumed a leadership role, making me question our classification criteria. It may be that our standards are too stringent (excepting injury or physical incapability obviously), and we should be less hasty marking an operative as faulty when we see mental aberrations. The deviations happen more often when the operative is placed under extreme duress, or if an objective requires extensive violent engagement. I believe we expect too much given their social circumstance prior to acquisition. Despite extensive protein supplements, those embedded behaviors are going to surface and we should develop a curriculum to deal with them rather than throwing them on the trash heap.
This, of course, is all moot pending Rise, but who knows how long that will be.
At some point I’d like to address the auditory response irregularity noted in my previous report. While the short-term solution is to simply offer ear protection for operatives who are overly sensitive to certain frequencies, I’d like to put together a team to research the problem. Let me know.
We continue to strive for the perfect quad.**
hm so
GO and T seem quite perfect
sigma seemed to have some odd issues
(maybe incorrect resuscitation?)
like madox
and F just are faulty
These HSUs are all F/Infected classification so I guess it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we lost the meat, but the freezers may come in handy someday - or at least we may end up needing them as Deep backups or organ donations etc.
well that usually just leads to immediate death
I mean
madox happened
sigmas might have had a thing similiar to madox just a bit more comprehensible
thats what i mean. he died in under a minute
he was probably mentally gone by like second 12
by accident
oh
His brain was melting
**Schaeffer
Okay, come on John… you can fix this!
Notes… Notes, notes, notes, notes…
Here… hydrostasis revival…
“Before the synthiotic fluid transfusion begins,
a hydrokinetic solution must be administered to prevent…
catastrophic neocortical tissue collapse.
Without it, the subject will become violent and exhibit uncontrolled…”
“The solution is automatically administered by the D.I. controller
prior to the reanimation procedure. However, should the HSU be isolated
from a capable interface, the solution must be administered manually.”
Manually? Oh… Maddox. Okay, where do I get it?
Preparation… no… procedure… research! Let’s see…
“The study of hydrokinetic energy production in plants has provided a foundation for synthesizing hydrokinetic solution and other revival…”
Plants! Yes! That’s why they’re everywhere! Okay. That’s a plan!**
Hm it doesnt say it kills the subject
i mean... catastrophic neocortical tissue collapse.
oh
im blind
that seems like it would kill
i cant help but wonder how does that even occur
like the fuck does the hsu do to cause it
**Hydrostasis - a process that allows humans to be held in a state of suspended animation for weeks, months, even years at a time without suffering any ill-effects. The nuts and bolts of the process are a closely guarded secret, but sources speculate that the procedure likely uses a synthetic amniotic fluid to sustain and protect the body while it is in an induced comatose state. In this state, the body is - for all intents and purposes - dead, but no cell deterioration or physical decay occurs. For the human in Hydrostasis, the heart, and time, stops.
Hydrostasis is not without its critics. Many have decried Kovac Research's tendency to gloss over the problems found in the recently completed first human trials - namely that participants have suffered\ some neural degradation and “minor” memory loss. There have also been questions raised about who Kovac Research is using for the human trials, with some suggesting that participation may not be entirely voluntary.**
**Yesterday, the European Space Agency dropped a bomb on Kovac Defensive Services. They are severing ties and pulling all funding from the military contractor giants. They aren’t cutting back. There is no measured disentanglement over the next few years. The ESA is out. Now.
This is almost certainly due to the papers that InfoLeak revealed last week. The revelation that Hydrostasis severely affects long-term memory is bad for Kovac. The fact that they knew about it before Red Alpha and didn’t tell the ESA is worse. Kovac is in the middle of a public relations nightmare, and the ESA want nothing to do with it.
While there is still no evidence (yet) that the use of Hydrostasis had anything to do with the failure of the Red Alpha mission, there are still several questions left to be answered. The investigation into the crash landing on Mars lays the blame on “human error”, citing security concerns as the reason a more detailed explanation will not be forthcoming. There is data available for the public to review - but there are no black box recordings from on board Red Alpha in the hours leading up to its uncontrolled descent through the Martian atmosphere. Whatever the crew said or did remains a mystery to anyone outside of the ESA and will likely remain that way for the foreseeable future. Funding for the ESA remains under tight scrutiny, and it is natural to assume they would suppress any revelations that may damage their reputation.**
**What is known for sure is that the crew successfully woke from Hydrostasis 72 hours before the scheduled Martian descent. There was no indication of any issues with the ship, and the automated guidance system had put them exactly where they needed to be. We know that the ship has had an internal temperature of 23 Celsius, as expected. We know that the water electrolysis system was working and producing oxygen in precise quantities. We even know what time the interior lighting system was simulating - 08:00 UTC to be precise. We know atmospheric filtering showed exactly the right amount of carbon dioxide present in the cabin, suggesting that all six of the crew were up and moving around the ship within a few hours. What we don’t know is why Red Alpha went from mission normal to mission critical by 14:00 UTC that same day.
First the ship drifted from its programmed orbit, something that could only happen if the navigation system failed, or by human intervention. Next, the communication relays stopped sending telemetry to Kourou, again either by catastrophic failure, or someone pulled the plug. At 11:57 UTC, the primary propulsion engines were ignited, and the ship started it’s final, fatal journey. There, the knowledge of anyone outside of the ESA ends.
Which is why the revelation that Hydrostasis causes long-term memory damage may offer some insight into the problems on board Red Alpha on the day of
//file ends.**
this is literally all the logs we have on how hydrostasis works
thats great
nothing mentions a mechanic that would cause
”catastrophic neocortical tissue collapse”
Do we even understand what that means
N o ?
i recognise words "catastriphic", "tissue" and "collapse"
The neocortex, also called the neopallium, isocortex, or the six-layered cortex, is a set of layers of the mammalian cerebral cortex involved in higher-order brain functions such as sensory perception, cognition, generation of motor commands,[1] spatial reasoning and language.[2]
that sounds like smth along the lines of brain/cranium neural system failure
relating to the part of the cerebral cortex concerned with sight and hearing in mammals.
yeah
so basically if it fails - you lose control over most of your body
now
how the fuck does HSU cause it
and how to talk/think/understand language and where you are
does it like deteorieate it?
Probably the same way real life freezing stasis kills you
We technically can freeze into a solid state and then unfreeze you
crystals form in blood which causes damage when it thaws
i mean we still dont know why do we get memory loss
The problem is that human cells are not capable of withstanding the unfreezing procedure
And just... Fall apart. Or collapse.
the most plausible theory would be brain damage
I assume hydrostasis does the same in some way
cryostasis works on hampsters... but not humans. we too big.
It technically kills you. Everything stops.
blood freezes too slowly
so… hydrostasis doesnt stop all your cells from breaking
Putting life on pause is not an issue. Restarting it is.
its a plant-based anti-icer
and an extra thingy is needed to stop it from happening
oddly enough it doesnt seem to stop memory loss, so that must be smth else
So when you wake up - it can be assumed that the neocrotical cells just fuckin go "uuuh, ooops, sorry, we're dead actually" and just fucking' explode or something.
probably
memories are literally neurons firing in a specific patterns. when your brain freezes and slows, they slow down the rate at which they fire or stop firing entirely.
THAT is the memory loss cause
And the fluid in question acts as some sort of vitamin to give them a boost to withstand the wake up procedure
Now again: why the fuck is that not pre-installed into all HSUs by default is another question.
money?
also for the red alpha mission, they didnt even know about it
or its too complicated
youd expect them to do their human trials thoroughly wouldnt they
Apparently they make it from the plants in the Gardens Biome
Wether that is exclusive to gargantha or they are just random ass plants is a whole other question
m e t h f e r n s
"what do you mean? that WAS the human trials"
might be bio-enginered
trash trails if they didnt realise ones brain can explode
dauda was a trash scientist
no, he was a brilliant scientist. just trash morals
Im just joking
M E T H F E R N S
Actually that looks like dinosaur plant
I forgot its' fucking name
You see it all the time when you watch Walking with Dinosaurs
God, what an amazing documentary series...
I should try google some torrent for it or something and rewatch the entire thing
I used to watch that thing all the time as a kid. Had it on VHS or something.
A fern?
I see those plants in forests
So, a brilliant scientist.
Wtf did they do to the lore
the parallel world thing?
Has it been a complete rewrite for ALT?
schaeffer sayinng the warden wants to help
I'm just reading through the ALT6 logs and they changed a huge amount
Not technically
It's not changed per se... you are reading logs from a different universe than the one you played in before.
This has been the case for the entirety of alt//
I guess the next question; are they going to ALT//ify r7 or are they just going to leave it as is 🤡
No. After alt//r6, they are jumping to r8 -- and that will be the FINAL rundown
Afterwards we have no guarantee of content.
if r8 isn't in the alt timeline im curious wtf the point was
i love the "we didnt rewrite the whole story we just moved it to a new timeline"
one coherent storyline? nah, we don't do that here.
i guess ALT schafer comes with us to the og?
other than that it would make no sense for R8 to be og
maybe? it would be cool to actually have a choice (believe alt schaeffer or OG schaeffer)
yeah
but also WRDN in the original timeline might not evne have the same goal?
i kinda expect that
My point is, for new players they will see that the 'warden is the good guy' in ALT//6 then immediately Schaeffer is 'fuck the warden' in r7
i just feel like they didn't know where to go with the story after we fucked up WRDN at the end of 7
i mean... it was making units? seemed like it intended to do the same thing, maybe it was just slower in doing it
Stupid if they don't redo the lore for r7
exactly. incoherent story for a new player
and IMO OG lore was better
yeah, the RISE project was the same
I really wish they never did alts
trying to explain the story to a new player is ridiculous
or rather, just didn't make them canon
To be honest else what, leave the game in r8 with a single rundown?
i phrased it wrong
That's the thing, they say they made them lore distinct in a way to "justify them"
i'm glad they brought them back, NOT glad they made them canonically different
just another 10cc insane logic IMO. there was no need to 'justify' bringing back 6/7ths of the content for your game
the budget they spent towards re-voice-acting all the logs, character interviews, etc could've gone towards way more important things
with maybe some new lore bits but without a full new storyline
This game's only life after r8 will be modders and custom rundowns, Alt//, OG, or not
well we shall see what R8 brings and hopefully it makes the story comprehensible
(it won't)
unless they return to GTFO after a while
which would be nice
If they will it will be a sequel. They won't continue to add to the clusterfuck that is this game's code at current.
Anyone else expect (based on the sizes of the rundowns on the rundown select screen) that r8 will be the smallest rundown?
that size isn't really reflective of them is it
r6's one is small and t's the biggest rundown
they prolly just run out of space in the menu
so they made R8 smol for the time being
Really can't be smaller than r1. Only 6 expis
or forever
Hopefully
i'd hope R8 will be big
Honestly 10-12 is about what I expect. On par or close to r6 and r7
they've said r8 will make the game have over 80 expeditions
so bare minimum 9
Praying r8 has 29 expeditions to get to an even 100
Assuming we have 71 now (can't remember)
Hi, back after a longer while but whatever happened to the pinned posts? The docs, I was kind of hoping to get more insight into what new knowledge is available now.
Nevermind
They are visible now all of a sudden…
The "for dummies" document should still be available...
It is, but for some reason everything was wiped when I opened it. Must have been a glitch.
chip malfunction probably
or they were faulty from the beginning
im pretty sure the team that was first sent into C2 refused to progress so the warden started the error alarm to get them to move
and it kinda left the error on when we arrived
ah, we as people with the chips we can take decision, warden sends us to do stuff and we do it but in many flacour texts or even in our own playthtoughs we can do different stuff
but at the end the only way to live is by, doin the objective
or at least thats how i think of it
the guys either had maflucntioning chips, or just found some sorta loophole
i mean henrrikson hoped into the funk machine still with the chip on
i defend its just like a cohersion kinda thing
where we can do stuff by ourselves, but we cant either way cause we need to keep livin
so we do objectives n stuff
Maybe they broke the chips?
probably
I think the chip is in the frontal cortex. That's what Warden connects to
if we survive this all, could our guys live in Civilian civilisation?
could pass for veterans with ptsd
maybe break the chips?
civilization is kinda ded
no, I mean no virus dimension
the end goal
escape to a timeline the virus never killed humanity
The Complex has those gates but no idea how to escape without being compromised
maybe Rundown 8?
yeah presumably R8
and our guys would prolly either be unfit for civilisation
or immoral
like they were before the complex
I don't think we're surviving this
Not sure a happy ending fits our guys
I predict either a trap or a heroic last stand to hold off the hordes
"Escape for thee but not for me"
to be honest, this is our hell
people too broken for a peaceful life
but I still hope for a happy ending
The aliens put us in stasis permanently
Potential scenario:
Squad gets teleported to the jungle-world Durant's new logs were talking about (or something similiar).
Water supply and food supply clearly present
Hackett: "Well... What do we do now?"
...
Woods: "We get to work. Together."
Cue in title drop and 90s rock or something
Cheesy, but i'll take it
survive on a jungle world?
im still wondering how/ will henrikson and madox get woken up
i mean, that was the original environment of most apes
so i guess back to the beginning
just as way smarter apes
Well we aren't reproducing so might as well live the rest of our lives in a forest
beats getting eaten alive by sleepers
possible
and i doubt the aliens wil only take our squad and schafer
but how can the surviving KSO gain free will?
Chips should lose functionality
Plus
they can be forcibly removed
schafer managed to get rid of his and henriksons
we might have issues with mental disorders and lack of morality
With the use of a highly advanced machine...
Not just flint and a spear
Its not like manking exactly had them to begin with
living in nature might ease up the crazy
I feel like the chips will either just lose connection to biocom and shut down or the aliens will free us before sending us on our merry way
so our happy ending would be gaining freedom and restarting humanity on a new world?
Or atleast trying to
the only other happy ending i could see is
complete and utter ending of our existence
so the squd can rest in peace
which is debatable on if it would be a happy ending
death or freedom we will see what devs cook up
From what I've seen... looks like death, but they could easily be hiding things not yet in the public build
although regular sleepers seem to have their human selves very dead
we will fight our way out of hell
you know, its possible we get 2 endings depending which schafer we trust
or smth along these lines
Maybe? But then they've gotta make a system where a choice is even possible
As the objective DBs are currently, there can only be one trigger for the end level. It's 100% linear
well we shall see then
who is Schaffer?
I honestly think it'd be funny if the final level of gtfo is actually impossible -- like no extraction, you can only die
a prisoner who went rogue
We helped him hack the warden in R7
then in ALT R6 we got introduced to his alt version which trusts the aliens
Santonian employee. A manager of sorts. He was the last surviving staff member in garganta. He followed KSOs down to KDS-Deep through the vents ala half-life. Sleepers were chasing him however, so he sealed the doors to KDS-Deep once he got there. Afterwards, he couldn't get them back open again. After about a week and to avoid starving to death, he entered an HSU and became the KSO we know today. Warden assigned him to a squad, and in OG, he broke free and has since been waking KSOs and disconnecting them (henrikkson and maddox), and hosting an active rebellion against the warden. In alt//, he decided to work with the warden. If the two schaeffers met, they very much so wouldn't like eachother
i smell a schafer essay brewing
Lmao
my predictions are still on point
wait, so Alt1-6 aren't the main Canon?
not but yes
only R7?
so Alt 7 can not exist?
we dont know
It can
there will be no alt R7
Devs just don't want to
Its extra work for... What reason, exactly?
Players will crucify them for adding a literal copypaste of content that's already available
It's just not what they want
ngl
why not just
take r7
blow it up lore wise
add an alt label to it
and do some new voicelines and terminal logs
if 6/7 are alt storyline
why make 7 and 8 non alt
pretend we've always been in alt timeline...
Because the gameplay would be identical and everyone would haaaaate that?
Bruh... that defeats the purpose of the entire story
they arent making an alt for r7 though
i kinda doubt they are
since they said r8 is possibly the last of the updates
same can be said for the random jump to alternate timeline in the first place
It is the last rundown. Regardless of future updates and bugfixes
so then why would it matter if the gameplay is the same
cleaning up the story would be nice
Not at all. We are still playing the original characters and original schaeffer is in alt.
You are right this was confirmed by Calle on this discord not too long ago
the original is in alt? then why is he suddenly supportive of the warden
saying the warden isnt our enemy and all
i never said they were? i said specifically they ARENT
yeah so why mention "the gameplay would be identical"
obvs it would be if they arent making an alt
but why have 6 alts and then 2 normal?
you are confused. that isn't our schaeffer. that is alt//schaeffer. you hear ours banging in morse code in alt//r1d1. he hasn't talked to us directly yet.
man
why not just
take r7
blow it up lore wise
add an alt label to it
and do some new voicelines and terminal logs
did you even read your own comment?
ik the gameplay would be identical
but the fact that we come from an alternate timeline is just
random
it doesnt fit into alt because it isn't alt. its the last part in the game so far that is our orignal worldline
we do not know if r8 is in alt// or not
we've been to *6 of them so far... hardly random
so every alt is a different alternate timeline???
no.
original worldline (r1-r7)
then there are the three different gargantas between jumps in r6d4
destination
alt//
if you include ones we've only heard about, then we've heard of 8 different worldlines.
No no he is right
a document or timeline
im not saying hes wrong
including the one the collectors want us to go to following alt//schaeffer, and the jungle world alt//durant went to
im saying i cant follow this convuluted timeline hopping alternate rundown whatevers
R6D4 has us going to 3 other timelines
*she
mb
it is incredibly rediculous, i agree.
its why i dont bother covering it in the for dummies doc
it's easier to just explain on a case-by-case basis
a timeline going from start to finish
i probably will when r8 comes out as a replacement for the for dummies doc
just starting from the first part in the story
fair
is r8 going to be next chronologically?
or is it in the middle somehow
r1 r2 r3 r4 r5 r6 r7 alt//r1 alt//r2 alt//r3 alt//r4 alt//r5 alt//r6 r8
the story is a single narrative, its just moving us between worlds as it goes along
we play as the same squad from star to finish
you can even find the corpses of alt// bishop and dauda if you look for them in alt//r6cx
correct
i'd recommend reading through the "for dummies doc" as it covers the basics of what happens in pre-apocalypse. in terms of the alt// worldline, the only major difference really there is that the parasite got out with nam-v, so the surface has sleepers instead of mountains of corpses. in terms of gameplay, we only know as much as we see really. there are only like two logs that take place during gameplay in the mid 2060s.
alt//rundown objectives are for the most part identical to the originals. the only difference really is the background subplot with schaeffer. in original, he was plotting to take down the warden and was eventually successful in r7. in alt//, schaeffer seems to be on friendly terms with and is working with the warden. who knows what will happen when the two schaeffers inevitably meet.
^ that is another thing. we know both schaeffers are currently in the alt// worldline, but we haven't heard anything from our own since alt//r1. we dont know if he is just going dark to hide and monitor the situation with henrikkson, or if warden finally got to him.
everything you hear from "schaeffer" in alt//r6 is not our schaeffer. do not be fooled. from his background, alt//schaeffer also seems to be more intelligent / was higher up in the management of the company before the collapse
@shut mountain Would you kindly please replace the 📌 of the previous "FOR DUMMIES" document with this one? This file has been UPDATED with information from ALT//R6.
- A reminder to those reading this document to get familiar with the lore, this file is too large to click expand, as such you must either download it, or click "View Whole File"
It would be cool to create a chapter entirely dedicated to the differences from the original storyline
Basically every single alt// log is different. Some even just by a month forward/backwards in terms of when they take place
It'd be a chapter of boring changes lol
No, I'm talking about the major changes. Especially the history of the alternative Schaeffer
god it pisses me off they don't react to seeing their own corpses
Guys. Who can tell me the name of the person who decided that changing the lighting was a good idea? Why did they just ruin one of the most beautiful rooms? I'm pissed
wait where is the original schaeffer in alt?
R1d1. You can hear Morse code.
But is that the original or the new one
oh I did hear that, but I didn't know it was OG schaeffer
New one wouldn't be telling us to escape, and even so, schaeffer doesn't get out until r4/r5
But wasn't that noise already there in the original D1
kind of unrelated but is there anything that actually confirms the warden somehow sent us to the alt dimension at the end of R7E1?
or is that just kinda the best theory there is right now
I was told schaeffer abruptly stops talking to us after one jump, but other than that, it's simply that we know that it happened, but not how
Because after alt//r6, it's impossible to deny we are in a different worldline.
but also when we come back from the matter wave collapse the glowsticks aren't the alt yellow
but that might just be devs not bothering
I think that's just because the LevelLayout is the same. If it threw you into an identical dimension file, 100% could be possible. Only problem is performance and anything you missed would be gone permanently
that would've been a nice touch to actually signify the change
was there any chance in the one r6 schaeffer room?
I'm assuming you mean change, not chance, and yes. The removal of the log about schaeffer assembling his own perfect squad
Same
To fit the power outage
@ruby lake can anybody swap the pin pls? Ty
#gtfo-lore message
[think its dming it, idk if pingin it does anythin]
Switched the pins for ya 😌
Just a small heads up thou that sadly mod contact does not ping mods :(
Looks like you accidentally deleted the wrong one... you deleted the audio log cipher that was pinned
Did i? Fuck
Lemme
Okay, fixed 😭 My apologies, I just woke up like 3 minutes ago
Hahaha, nah, your good 🙂
CX, the very very end.
i got to the power outtage solo, and was just like nope
r7a1 is named unit 23, is that thing the one we made throughout r7?
Yes
Schaeffer killed u22 in ogr6
R7 is us making a replacement before being derailed by schaeffer
well alt r6cx tells us to locate unit 23
maybe we finished the job and it got warped back with us
wait nvm
it's unit 27
Poor warden
It's just trying its best and then Scheaffer just runs his shit with a metal pipe
Honestly I would be offended as a prisoner
I went through hell and back 7 times to make this thing and you killed it with a goddamn pipe
Are you serious
@strange grove do you know how the HSUs DNA sample tissue are extracted?
This is from the new patch: Fixed bug where clients did not trigger voice lines.
So there are actually more voice lines than one of D1?
Time to replay a1
I thought they meant the new ping voice lines
Then why is it that after the task is completed, the light remains so awful?
You dont see the power rerouted?
It gained power to secondary
But you do secondary it takes time for the protocol to take place
There are two huge, working spotlights in that room. But they are set so that they don't light up the center room. I think it's just a bad gameplay design decision.
Dont ask me
The moss grows in dark
And the place is pretty overgrown
Moss is growing all over the Floodways area
In the original R6, the lighting was beautiful. It's gotten worse, in my opinion
A reminder of what it looked like earlier:
Is the warden even a person? Or maybe a computer program?
Alien.
from what planet?
no one knows
pretty much
None. Multidimensional beings.
They can come from the other end of a diffrent version of our universe as far as we are concerned
How does Warden sharpen our spears?
canonnically our characters never take Spear.
Hmm? Why?
Cause they never die and always first clear in canon. so obviously they have all Hammers and are not handicapped
logical conclusion
so metal limbs are non Canon?
they never die. dunno if they lost a limb
but i would guess that yes metal limbs also not canon
the hand looks cool
It really does.
is knife also not Canon? I guess it would be easier to wash and sharpen
Again if they winning then most probably not, 1 might have it but certainly not all 4
Technically they are
You're just creating your custom Prisoner from alt time line, so any and all Prisoner apparel combinations are canon. The only thing that's not canon is that they can put their amputated legs and hands right back.
Although given the state of technology in 2050 - who knows. A biological AI, artificial workers, dimension jumping warp gates... Surely stapling a hand back is not much of an issue.
it is canon the warden gives us transplants of the KSOs who were scrapped
like hands and legs
I don't think necessarily us... that log seemed like it was referring to like hospitals and stuff outside of garganta... and besides, that's pre-apocalypse stuff. Who in garganta could perform surgeries?
i dunno the robots?
The robots that are all deactivated and battery dead littered across the complex? You don't use a loader bot for precision work
Even "robots" in hospitals in modern day are directly manipulated by humans. It isn't purely ai
i dunno then, maybe the lore of cosmetics is that is how our squad looked like before all went to shit
so they were given robot arms and stuff
...but that would make dauda a plot hole
What do you mean? None of our core crew have any robotic limbs
yeah i know, i mean that if apparell was actually lore
We never fail
which i doubt it is
I agree, too many exceptions to be made if it were.
agreed
The only time we really play as "ourselves", is the eval.
Everything else is us playing as the quad
I like to think that we die during the eval
or instantly after
also i wish we had more eval training for other stuff, like bulkheads, and generators/the like
ah well those r introduced more normally, carryin items on r2a1, gens on r2b2, first bulkhead on r4a1
they organic their introduction is fine
Hear me out if you come back to the HSU in critical, and the Warden doesn't have a limb on hand to replace a messed up one, wouldn't you get the robo leg
Like if people can get giant smacked (I assume this breaks bones due to the damage and force) I doubt the med kit does more than give you a splint to barely function for the rest of the mission
i feel you'd just bleed out and die. hydrostasis isn't a surgery doc from fallout.
Maybe you're put in hydrostasis, then moved to a surgery section
Fixed up, then put back in
Though honestly in lore at least the squad probably does every mission on a no hit run
as far as we know, we just go straight from one mission to the next, the warden doesn't have a free-roam "KSO hub" as it were.
that, and we never ever lose. we do every mission with all optionals first try, so you could assume it just is nothing but no-hit runs
I'd honestly like to see someone make a mod that has the bots play the entire mission
Like recode the AI to be able to do objectives and terminals
It'd be funny to watch
bots can barely walk while tethered to a player. i seriously doubt they'd be able to freely, even with nodes
Well bots CAN walk between players
If you have two people and tell them to follow you, they will just walk there
bots from drop down, are tethered to a player. you can change this with in-game follow commands, but they are always "in adjacent" to that player
Making them path towards objectives while stealth killing enemies would be not too wild I'd think
if you shut a door behind you they will just get stuck and eventually noclip through
using sleeper pathing in a straight line, but when they hit a door/wall, its noclip time
seriously. without noclip, bots just would not function, at all
yeah, sleepers can also use stairs.
But they do try to walk normally
