Ah
Pay attention next time you drop. It looks like an explosion went off.
It burned all the way to the surface
Could see the rubbles and steel shrapnel
But hey
This might be late to ask but
What really is the main way these things reproduce
Multiplying in the great numbers
Big shrug
We know for a fact at least some are mutated humans
But then the cocoons exist
And mothers... Do the little ones grow up, or?...
Im thinking about them assimilate humans
I think the birthers can be a big sorta to cause they are red variant
Frankly all 3 could be true simultaneously.
And the white are assimilated
this makes sense 'cause the ripped up pieces of metal are pointing upwards
indicating it came from within
Idk bout giants and hybirds tho
But it doesn't explain why cocoons reliably produce standard human like sleepers.
i think strikers are 'native' aliens aren't they?
Surely they would be producing random ass flesh horrors.
but they can assimilate humans to become basically. the same thing
It could cause if you look at how long they take to form
Nah.
Hmm

It could be a nuke explosion

Idk how much power anything could do that in that deep
Yeah it was a wild card guess
Well at this point I'm 99% certain its an ancient alien ship.
And someone there still knows how to operate it.
Well we did warped
schaeffer pushing random buttons
So possibly big chance
He wasn't even a KSO at this point. He was overseeing a drilling operation when things blew up. We have letter of him talking to his friend after the fact.
alpha....two?
A1 was 3 or something
is this real? holy cow.... this means gtfo actually happened?
i need a minute
Not sure why you are surprised
I can do much worse than him
stopped just shy of it.
so just noticed that in this log it is said that on the day of the giant QGP beam explosion, right before the explosion occurred, project insight broke into a chamber deep underground. inside the previously sealed chamber, a sleeper was found.
how was a sleeper all the way down inside that sealed chamber? does this mean that some sleepers are not human? because how would a human even get down there to be infected in the first place?
^the log, from ALT://R5
I do remember it being sealed but this log isn't saying it was sealed. Granted if Gianna's team are the people doing the drilling then it means how they found it was through a wall but that doesn't mean it has to be sealed same way if you drilled through to a cave system it doesn't mean that's the only entrance into it so maybe I'm just making up remembering it was actually a sealed chamber they found?
It 100% implies they found a new room
Right but again, finding a room and going in through a wall does not imply there is not a door
Sleepers are not universally human
Fliers are an example of that
They're still part of their hive
...they just don't sleep, usually
because chimp's brain matter is concentrated in the back of the head
so, the sleepers, being mutated chimps, would naturally take more damage there
I think it’s cuz of parasites itself. I’m they use the head as a main part but If the head is shot of with the vital portions still alive, then it would still be active
Hence why the “worm” part of it (the ones licking us) can still get us
maybe in stealth the parasite didnt move from the back of the head (you snooze you lose)
since it doesn't know it will get hit
i assume the parasite 'rests' in their stomach
that's why it looks so fucked up
and it can still lick with no head + a blown apart chest
wasn't their tongues alr in their stomachs? weren't the tongues mutilated bowels?
i figured the tongues were the parasite
also
didnt it say somewhere the parasites were just in symbiosis with virus particles?
They are creatures that resembles alot of microscopic creatures
They can detach parts on their bodies and the main body still functions fine
Like the microscopic hydra for instance
It also meant that they dont bleed
The blood splattered all over you screen is there organic material being sliced up and or blown off
Oh wait @burnt wren do the sleepers regenerate or they just stay with their wounds
last i checked - latter, damage they take is permanent
Imagine frank or Tyrone with their legs blown off
Completely new animations set
Don’t mention it
I have a few questions that I am just going to list regarding the logs in r5a2
What does Duada mean by this is the eleventh plague?
Did woods know that nam-v was going to happen, and does he know about the multiverse?
Probably a religious reference to plagues. I think he understood that namv can't be beaten so might as well.
Not sure about Woods, but he definetely knows something. Or at the very least he believes he does, and it just happens to align with the events.
I think he's getting premonitions and unlike most people he reads them for what they are and fully trusts them whole everyone else questions them and slowly goes insane. Woods is already insane, so for him this is all according to plan.
Listening to bishops log was kinda of sad, the “you don’t exist”
Very good voice acting though
Ok thank you
That what we came here for
fucking europeans
man fuck dem mericans
don't be ridiculous, the English and the Irish will never get along
That's what's so great, it's a forbidden secret love
woods bout to kill them for being gay
🤫
Damn, didn't know GTFO was inspired by Shakespeare.
wait so like, what actually are the sleepers
I know they operate kinda like necromorphs or some such
there's a document in the pinned comments that explains like at basic level all the lore, including what r sloipers, but as a short answer they r mutated humans that act funky
Less hyper aggressive
And not fond of infecting victims
To assimilate them into their own
weird
also what the fuck is the kraken
I dont think that was ever actually explained
Many things, but for the most part just mutants created by a parasite who is kept indefinitely alive by namv virus.
Theyre not zombies, they're not walking corpses. Just horribly transfigured organisms, the thing style.
R6D1 boss
terrible terrible implementation, NOT something to look forward to
Big shrug, could be anything
Its clearly an apex sleeper form, but like...
Is it original?
Is it an infected form of something that actually lived on that planet?
Dead Space style final amalgamation of all the sleepers on the planet?
Toss a coin and your guess will be just as good as ours.
If we're lucky - we'll get an insight in ALT//R6
"Noooo dont look forward to the boss fight :("
weak talk
me and my team walkin into d1 hyped
Bro I loved the kracken it was cool af
Also I believe it was once an alien that made the parasite and/or the virus but was transformed by its own creation
Or I think its some sort of hive mind that is almost commanding sleepers back on Earth.
I know the "hit the crab's weak point for massive damage" is like a smear in gaming community, but i don't know
What were their alternatives? Just let us shoot him nilly willy until his HP bar runs out either way?
They're not doing custom cutscenes / QTEs, that much is clear so they can't even go Dead Space route
Hmmm... Maybe... One neat idea would be to have some kind of giant cannons pointed at the thing and we would have to execute terminal commands to shoot and maybe even reload them.
That would be very much on brand for the game.
But fine, i'll take glowing eyes too.
Carry the sheel to the cannon
I could see it
I think something that required a bit more coordination would be better. Though I still love the spectacle.
now hear me out
I have a theory as to what the kraken is
You know how sleeper corpses teleport away when they die? I think the kraken is all of that biomass pushed into an amalgam shape
humans can't teleport.
as far as we know the kraken is exclusively trapped on destination.
floaters also can't teleport back and forth, only locally. this is easily shown by the fact floaters dont appear in garganta until we accidentally let them in in r6b1
what do u mean locally
take r7b1 for example, they teleport into the room with the neonate box via the roof of the greenhouse
they've never teleported from destination to earth before
they only got to earth because the wrdn failed to close the tether in r6b1
no floaters in the game before that
gameplay-wise, its because they weren't made yet.
story wise, its the only that fits.
-- i should say, best supported by evidence in-game
valid assessment
Is there an important text log this rundown? I havent been able to read trough all logs yet
Plus anyone got the log in r5d1, the door that open after you shut down reactor
Or another question anyone got all the logs from alt r5 they can DM me to
Just open up the wiki
Google: GTFO Alt Rundown 5 Logs
Should be first result
You can skip the character related logs
But there's a couple of completely new ones
Just noticed that Alt R5 has no text logs that aren't a variation of older logs.
What will happen in alt r6? will we teleport back to r7e1?
that would be pretty cool
wish we will get something such as ALT r6ex where we teleport back to r7e1 during mid mission and schaeffer asking where tf were we gone to
I could certainly see some nice opportunities to visit some intereting locations/points in time, since we teleport so frequnetly in R6.
Yeee thats why
Can't wait to see what will happen to R6 logs and most importantly to mandatory audio monologues.
Do you think they will change?
Make alt R6EX pls
The audio logs are pretty cool to balance that out I guess ^^
I mean... Log is log
Audio or text - we are only interested in information it provides
While text logs remained untouched (mostly, there are differences) - we got some very cool audio ones.
Like NATO mission progressing deeper into the complex.
Or Mr Truth slowly losing his mind... Or Woods regaining it instead...
Gotta love alt R5E1 audio log
Here's an interesting thought: do you think any of the guns that we use were specifically designed to fight sleepers?
Hel guns seem pretty sleeper heavy
Though again would be very useful for CQC in a real engagment considering how easily targets could line up or possibly penetrate through walls
anyone got the log from R5D1 from the zone that opens when reactor shuts down
There are 2 of D1 logs, so it's one of them
One is describing effects of namv on victims, the other describes a suicide accident
Unless wiki is missing one...
Both are old logs, but theyre changed. The suicide in particular is much worse than the original one.
https://gtfo.fandom.com/wiki/ALT://Rundown_5.0_Logs#507-YJQ-FNB
Should be this one.
Sentries probably were.
seeing as they're able to detect sleepers in particular
(unless ofc they're programmed to just 'target anyone/anything who isn't Kovac' or something)
That's actually indeed how it works, there was a convo about that like a week ago
We had a log where a guy attempts to condence all the security procedures into one for everyone and he mentions turrets and reminds every to update their biometrics, in very bold text
yesterday

Found this room in R7E1 after you get the last code for reactor.
Makes me think the Warden purposefully teleported Pablo back into the complex
but why would it do that...
where do the logs referencing a nato team begin?
To stop us from escaping, to kill us before we can do more damage to Biocom/ The Warden.
would it even have a self-defense mechanism like that? it seems completely wrecked after AWOL
Maybe we will be teleport back to this R7 universe's matterwave projector during ALT R6 🤔 💡
The very first log that mentions it was back in R6D4: https://gtfo.fandom.com/wiki/Rundown_6.0_Logs#KLIW-432-B6Y
But the audio logs following the mission itself started with this log in Alt R3B1: https://gtfo.fandom.com/wiki/ALT://Rundown_3.0_Logs#57H-K78-EVR
Do we know that the original mission was for r7d2? The one that we were supposed to go on but they hit the breaks on the lift
So new hsu case things
If anything I think it would be a mission to prepare for another round of the neonatal process that we spent all of R7 doing
But its a lot deeper than most of those other missions
I doubt the depth refers to AWOL because this is the wardens interface
Also this
R7c3 the warden opens the armoury and then supposedly does nothing?
I am curious on what the wardens main goal was here, if he just was going to leave us for dead? But then why open the armoury? Or try and get us out, again but it didn’t open anything we had to wait for Hendrickson to open it for us
maybe the warden was tryin to open it but was slower than henrickson [dik how to spell it anymore qwq] but the warden didnt had any problems with the armoury so it just opened right away
Possibly whatever is left of it is trying to fight back and now sees us as a threat.
Besides we may only be controlling the drop
Henrikkson opened the armory didnt he?
No
That was the warden
Plugging in the main objective gave us down time to reach the armory before it could try to unlock towards extraction
I think this really validates the point that we really have no clue what the Wardens goals are
Whatever we think they might be are most likely wrong. Especially if he's helping a bunch of rouge KSO's survive their mission
Even Schaffer digging up files reveals nothing
It is trying to save alot of resources (like KDS deep)
Maybe it's getting ready for something
Cause the worlds end is already is
And where u gonna find anyone willing to jump in a hsu and do ur bidding
Maybe our team is so valuable that he doesn't wanna let us die
I wouldn’t think that
It sends us down and already said that prisoners/resources loss is high
So meaning that it dont give AF
I figured it was slowly working on a cure
Thats why we do all this science work with the babies
Some stem cell bullshit or something
than why would it have any incentive to help us if we are so expendable
There is no cure
All the valued assets are dead
And or have no access to that
Because were likely the only ones
If it could clone us
Then it will have a connection to us playing in simulations
Then again by R7 it already has access to KDS Deep
Like how many players have survived and or completed the tasks given
It is doing its mission
We simply get help from Schaffer and henrickson
But props to Schaffer for hitting the brakes
It was a move the warden cannot calculate
So the mission that you took the Trojan was likely under its nose
Without it noticing
Id imagine the Warden works and give out work loads in order to achieve goals set on A1 till E1
Given infinite worldlines, an infinite number of them.
Crackpot theory time: what if the warden sent us over to ALT// because another warden ran out of KSOs?
Could be
But it coulddd mean that were the only assets in that specific time
And its gathering alot of more resources
And KSOs
Schaeffer also got TP'd despite no longer being a controlled kso.
For KDS
It's what time travel / alternate universes do to fiction
Stakes are no longer existent because there is the perfect ending out there somewhere
Deus-ex-machinas are easily explainable and infinite in quantity
"It was all a dream" but worse since it actively tries to be possible
Only real piece of fiction that comes to mind that does it good is Steins;Gate, and that's just flipping it on its head and portraying the journey to that perfect ending
In gtfo, forgive me, but I've not seen much traveling.
We are side characters to schaeffer's story
And we only see it in infomercial sized chunks.
Like, where's THAT game?
GordonFreeman.exe
Nah
He is literally the vent man
I think Schaffer is good on his own
The Doug rattman of gtfo
Honestly he is just more avoiding than escaping. He isn't like us. Hell, we don't even know if he still has any weapons
Maybe a pistol.
Anything he might have had when he was indoctrinated into the KSOs is probably long gone by now
Maintenance is a bitch
Eh. Our pistol looks like it could shoot in the dirt.
If there ever is a GTFO 2, it really aughta be a tighter story, maybe even singleplayer.
is the flavor text when selecting a level / dropping to a level supposed to be coms from our characters or other people ?
another people, other funky groups
He definitely has
A nail gun

From ours
Do you really think besides us there’s anyone or anything alive ?
It's not from us. R7d2 proves this.
It's previous squads the warden sent that died.
Where at i dont remember
There are 32,000 KSOs in garganta
The level description, posted above
Well yea but not down there talking or doing stuff right?
Also the numerous "distraction missions" like r6c3
They are very active.
Huh
There were alternate teams helping warden collect the genome data in r6 extended Aswell that we forwarded the data to
At this point in - who the fuck knows
From r6dx when we go to the STAIRCASE OF DEATH
We aren't dead, so not us.
It could be other squads, but it doesn't explain why we can't find their corpses or why all the objectives are untouched
It also says previous transmission or something of the like
"Intercepted" maybe, I don't recall
Since many texts reffernce them carrying shit yet I don't see power cells just laying around in a puddle of blood
Could be
And with multiverse bullshit sipping in - it could be alt realities where our lads didn't make it
No, it literally says, I just don't remember off the top of my head
When you go to select any level
Still in the menu
Or likewise... They did make it and Warden just relays the more important bits to us
yeah the whole untounched objectives thing is what made me ask the question, but I guess it's just a matter of gameplay being more important than lore
Well we did hit the brakes
So likely we get to know what is the original objective stack
Just put a cell in a puddle of blood, it's not that hard.
Btw we are just sleeping on a log of Warden updating his alternate selves
Updating W4DN(Local) : 1/18485738
Well we always get injections via chemical compound that dont make us go into monke mode like maddox
LOCAL
Huh
Alright boys tell me what’s cooking in here with that juicy LORE
im cookin pasta
@eternal talon sounding the lore bell
lore pasta
Did bishop and his team successfully did they’re mission?
Or did the whole team die
Ans Bishop was dragged back the our world via tether distortion
Ooooh, dimensional tomfoolery?
Yep
The thing was dr Stokes and her team of valued assets was conducting the warp gate
@burnt wren anything u got on Dr stokes my good sir?
She was the director of the warp gate am i right?
Not super sure with her. She was overseeing the teleportation ops in R6, she butted heads with Hammerstein a lot because he's an ass hole and once he died - she became the new head of project insight
She's also the one who cracked the planetside time discrepancy for us
@fluid crypt continue the chain bro
But how did they pull bishop back
What was the objective for the team tho
Like scouting?
I think he was just a security detachment
The big goal was just... Exploration
They were checking things, air, trying to find something useful
But yea supposedly theyre all there to explore
And then they got swarmed by flyers and a pack
Maybe
I mean that could be it. it just doesn’t make sense that it would open the armoury and then do nothing
Unless it wanted us to make noise for another crew to get their mission done
Heh
#relatable
@burnt wren did you take a look at R5E1 Schaffer log ?
Any different from the og ?
Sp the original objective of the mission is to create an uplink. What is the sniffer Henriksson talks about?
Where he wonders what the warden is gathering all resources and ksos for
Which level again?
That's an original one.
C3
I want to say it’s using ports to find where bio com is
R7
Was not present in OG or was completely different.
OG Schaeffer had his brains scrambled good
@fluid crypt cookin
No, i meant it's completely new
New lore?
Yep
The most lore I know is how each of the inmates ended up here in the most basic way
This time Schaffer actually goes to dig up more
Hopefully it makes Schaffer look good in Alt 6
That being that woods caused a shooting, dauda did illegal experiments, Hacket is just trying to feel and Bishop blackmailed the wrong people.
And the bio mecha mutant not being so dumb
Because I remember after the uplink they try to do something and end up tripping an alarm of sorts
That is basically the tip of the ice berg
Youll know soon
Elaborate
Schaffer runs into them
And like all dummy robots are
This thing exclusively calls him friend
Are you reffering to the mimic
Are those the robots and seem powers off around the complex
Even while killing him for example?
Idk what kind of friend would be dumb enough to drag a whole pack on to him
It's an it, easier to understand
Yea
Mimic?
The mutant that calls to him
There’s fucking mimics now?
what?
Mimics are children intelligence wise, it was an honest mistake
Yep
Mimic, unit, Specimens, the replacement...
But it did mention some good details
Those are their nicknames
That Schaffer didn’t get
Artificial humans
Oh
...for now
Idk why the sleepers don’t attack them
Project Rise was the mission to create artificial humans that cannot be detected by humans. These are also called mimics for their resemblance to humans.
KSOs would be out of job if project rise was finished
The sleepers can’t detect them right ?
Explains the robot exo skeletons in data center tile sets
Yep, most of them anyway
Yeah but they can set of scouts still
Scouts still can though
It is composite of flesh and metals
Those are just random robots not mimics
Well I assume scouts detect anything that moves
Anything that makes them feel like a intruder
Hmm
So would a sleeper that is moving cause it to trigger?
Could had sworn i heard alot of static and metal dragging sounds
Complete r7d1 and you can see a mimic for yourself
Imagine ants
No no no. Scouts are checking something else.
Ah
Mimics reproduce pheromones that trick sleepers into thinking they are one of them.
But scouts detect intruders by different means, not pheromones
Yep
So the disguise doesn't work on them
Scouts really do work differently than the rest
So the scout is both a patrol and a security for the sleepers
Pretty much, just making sure.
Like the soldiers in a ant colony
Do we know how the different sleepers form?
It will detect sus amongus and kills them on smell wrongly
Biters = men
Shooters = women
Well they are mostly form humans
What he said
Yep I knew that, what about tanks, mothers and so on
Giants excel more growths
They are not multiple people together?
If Hammerstein is to be believed - shooters act as officers of some kind, which Is interesting
Tank are pretty much a massive bulk of growth assimilated by many organisms
As for different creation process.. Absolutely nothing. Parasite does whatever it does.
So the possibility of new things in r8 is still there?
Explains much of theyre very un canny movements and attacks
We don't have a single log directly reffering any of the mini bosses
Which is... Fascinsting...
Although... Although...
There is not a single mention?
There is one very creep log in ALT 5
Birther?
Mother
The prisoners never have a voice line that refers to the birther (mother)
Even the tank
Oh lmao yeah I’d rather fight two tanks than one mother.
Yep
Or was it alt4...
Mothers are easy to deal with when out of sights and are prioritized
Tanks however do not
Hel shotguns are a funny thing with mothers
Oh shit, it was Jordy...
Likely hood of you fighting one
Elaborate
But towards your opinion about forming of a sleepers
@plush nest hybirds a d chargers are a different thing
Do we know what they are?
Y see the black hardenings of a normal sleeping giant?
That does make sense
Its the same stuff that is creating the hard toughness to the chargers
In R4 there is a log of a session between local psychiatrist and the worker named Jordy.
Jordy later committed a suicide. He does it on both universes, albeit by radically different means.
But personally I think we should view the monsters as a more advanced ant colony with a rugged caste system.
Viewing them as ants but with a virus kind of ideology
Any colonies have workers, fighters and the Queen. We can just assume this caste system has more layers
However what's interesting is that in ALT R4 the log is changed completely. Jordy is swapped for a different person - Mia, who is claiming that something is inside of her head.
At the end of the log she.... Apparently starts turning into something.
They are born from infected by Nam V
Og R5A3 Dauda
No
A2
Rip
He shoved a huge syringe
But there was no blood
Just a gaping hole
I am curious on who is the queen in this scenario
Screams emitted from it as all the others strapped on beds was all screaming too
I think it’s best we don’t find out, but I’d argue most likely the kraken.
No
You are warped to it
Then again, different types of monsters may have different queens to birth them.
I was going to say that would be a different colony
I mean unless he's stuck in the rocks at deeper levels
After all, some ant colonies have multiple queens.
Queen Pablo
But would you look at the ants
As well as splinter colonies that later become entirely indépendant
They kill each other to decide one true queen
Only sometimes
Very little chance they make it
And the mother colony just kills them off
Incorrect. They more often than not become a threat to the main colony.
Rendering only one queen wins the battle Royale
Ants are kinda baller
Not a threat
Sleepers are a single hive, we know that much
Yep
Correct, with multiple diverse castes
They are a single hived mind
One of the logs is describing the fact that parasites act the same weather infected or not
Elaborate
What was the parasites again?
Which monsters had it
Parasite are infected by namv like any other creature. Namv just arbitrary decided to use them instead of killing them.
Apparently there are parasites that are not infected with namv
But their behavior is exactly the same.
Explain parasites
Would be cool to see animals get infected by Nam V
And having new enemies made from those animals
Infected grizzly bear
The sleepers are a product of teamwork between 2 different players: namv virus and "the parasites"
That thing would be a power house of 20 giants in terms of ferocity
What are the parasites though? Are they literal parasites?
We don't have a confirmed visual sighting or anything, we just know that they exist
One of the logs mentions that they can get through a high tier protective gear
But what is confirmed is that the NamV virus spreads primarily through said parasites?
As in they can bite through very tough rubber
Or maybe even metal? Or is that where we draw the line?
Air infection blood and anything
We don't even know their size: are they microscopic or like a cockroaches or what...
Well
Anyway
It is a full proof no cure virus
What I think is if a parasite can bite through tough gear it likely has a maw of teeth
Or a whole swarm
i feel like reading the "for dummies" in the pins might be helpful. (just catching up rn, over 100 messages)
Or acid of some sorts
These teeth would likely have to be made of keratin, or maybe even the stuff snail teeth are made of (which are proven to gnaw through steel and titanium)
Namv is a bitch and his goal is to infect absolutely everything through every means possible. It spread through all known possible ways on infection and then also on top of that it basically forced symbiosis on parasites to use them as well.
Nam V really did shake hands with these MFs
More like locked them in his basement
So it’s a total freak of nature and an affront to god even if we ignore the monsters it makes?
How so
Or held a gun to their head
air, water, contact, literally everything except the vaccum of space.
That’s fucked
He gives them indefinite lifespan, they in return ensure his spread by... Doing the mutant thing.
Zamm dauda
Its all but confirmed to be an S tier biological weapon.
human experiments, he was a horrible horrible person.
Natural born viruses don't act this way.
An end of the world bio weapon
Yes he was
I’d argue more like X class if it’s that contagious
Uh, phrasing
Hell, I bet the vaccum of space isn’t out of the question either considering that, with enough biomass, the virus could supposedly clamber up a fleshy host that can keep itself warm enough to drift through space.
Yeah i have an headache but nvm
Ethics.
Yuh
anyway, in regards to the parasite, sleeper-ificiation happens in stages:
1: infected with nam-v, begin to mutate. subject dies if not infected with parasite before mutations complete.
2: mutations mature, parasite takes control over central nervous system.
the parasite, with the virus, keeps the host alive indefinately. the host literally never dies. inside every sleeper you kill is a sentient and "conscious" person that has been suffering for god knows how long, obviously without the means to either speak, hear, or whatever depending on the mutations. Just be thankful that strikers at least do not have the same level of cognative thought to understand what is happening to them due to their brains and skulls being split apart.
I mean water bears can live in the vacuum of space for a bit
well yes, but we are talking about infectivity, not survival. there is nothing for them in contact with in space to spread themselves. so its simply lack of anything as what little there is in space, is spread out too far to effectively transfer infection
individual floating atoms or molecules are too small
Whole brain gone

brain stem really is all that is needed to be kept intact.
I like the wording of the end of one of the emails from Santonian higher-ups: "our door is always open" (for you to walk out if you don't like it here)
Stem?
juicy flesh puppets. that is what sleepers are.
Hmmm
The brainstem (or brain stem) is the stalk-like: 152 part of the brain that interconnects the cerebrum and diencephalon with the spinal cord. In the human brain the brainstem is composed of the midbrain, the pons, and the medulla oblongata.: 152 The midbrain is continuous with the thalamus of the diencephalon through the tentorial notch.: 152 ...
too dark?
Does vital functions
oh no
No
I have ăn headache
And honestly its a miracle I’m still up rn
So peace out ppl
Keep the lore comin
Tyranids
Don't even
Tyranids are very different
They evolve by consuming
And these monsters take a longer and different route to even begin to change
kds scan?
"Synchronously awakens all available KSOs in KDS Deep 1"
We wake up a few thousand KSOs.
That group was us, yes.
KSOs are also us
Basically Warden gained access to immense man power to escalate his operations
Damn, that's sad
It specifically says awakens? Like AWAKENS? Not just prepares to be awakened?
That would imply he woke up an army in an instance... Yet I don't remember seeing or hearing anything in R6 to suggest that there was an army marching through.
KSOs gonna flood the sleepers on Alt R6

Unless that was what R6C3 was about...
We literally just distracted the horde while an entire army out there was doing lord knows what
R5B4 as well. so warden already has multiple teams BEFORE KDS Deep
But so far
We haven’t even got a glimpse of is there any teams working out there
Like at extraction (other teams fighting or getting extraction)
Like I said R5B4 and R6C3 tell us we are a diversion for another team to do something
Not even a turret or a misplaced mine
All of which were in logs (mostly)
Those 2 missions basically confirm we are not the only ones
And that we are not the only ones before KDS Deep as well
Not basically
It tells us that
But it doesn’t mean that all those were true
It could be a misplaced comms or logs from a long time ago
Proves a point
But we literally would hear em through the interrupted transmission
I have a theory
If were prisoners
We are easily to be disposed of
Meaning that other KSOs are mostly a lil more valued assets
Such as mercenaries and or military personnel
unless schaeffer is talking about someone else apparently we're pretty good
log is in altr5c1 btw
Yep, we are canonically Warden's chads
Schaeffer basically confirming we the chads
i cant tell if that makes my performance feel better or worst
Break in, kill everything, get things done, leave.
makes me wonder if there are any other squad remotely close to our squad's efficiency or if everyone else just dies after their first few missions
R6c3
Not necessarily an army, it was a distraction for a single team... doing whatever their mission was.
Honestly, probably closing the tether we left open in r6b1 so that we can get the MWP back just in time for d1
8k total before, 24k in KDS deep, up to 32k now.
Due to multiverse shenanigans, warden could potentially have access to an infinite number of our squad now.
I might have heard this somewhere but is our squad immortal in some weird way? Since when we fail a mission we can just drop in again?
Purely game mechanic until confirmed otherwise.
Can I throw out an idea?
We have hints that other us exist, but no dimensional swaps yet.
Every time we fail we swap consciousness with another group similar to us
Oh nvm then
Again we are confirmed to be top Chad of Warden Operatives.
Also provided bots are canon - we have specific faces and all.
Our characters have names, history... Theyre not different people.
Unless there's some kind of unreliable narrator going on
That too.
Even voices are the same.
If devs wanted to hint something like that - they would chance voice actors.
That’s a good point, slightly change the voice would hint that but they are the exact same, just what they say is slightly different
Technically that happened
Alt characters are not the same as originals
Most of them are a lot more unhinged and pronento anger with sole exception being Woods who got calmer instead.
And then there's Schaeffer who got much smarter.
i just assume that canonically we've never failed
also would make sense why Schaeffer / the warden values us so highly
top of the efficiency list and all that
We should ask for a raise
My head canon here is that there's just these large balls of the active sleepers roaming around the complex, and by peeling off large groups of them we end up redirecting the larger group to move into other sections of the complex.
That would explain why the sleepers during alarms are different colours than the sleeping ones
Obviously there is some sort of immense biomass that spans the entirety of Garganta. Idk what to call it but the black biomass that we see in multiple levels I think is all part of one big "biostructure". I think that when an area gets empty of sleepers, more would emerge? be created? from this biomass. This is especially evident when in R7E1 we actively see sleepers emerging from the biomass during the reactor startup. However I also think that this biomass is collapsing in on Garganta. In R7E1 we saw more of this biomass than in most other levels, it also happens to be the deepest level we have been too. Meaning that we are closer to whatever the center of this biomass is than ever before. That same biomass we see in the reactor startup may be blocking off an entire section of the complex and has closed in around it. This thing is massive and if I had to guess, whatever the Warden's goals are, are probably related to this structure.
Interesting thing this reminded me of, in the tutorial we play as a delta class KSO, the only one of which on our team is duauda -- who is black, yet when you go into the menu during the tutorial you are clearly playing a white character.
The only time in the entirety of GTFO when we aren't playing as a member of the squad.
And if I remember correctly, (and I might not, I haven't played it in like half a year) we also get the designation number for this unknown KSO
And to actually answer this question way late: yes, they are. If you are playing as dauda in a lobby your character will be black, regardless of cosmetics
sounds like a bug honestly
its been this way since they first introduced the tutorial so... whatevs.
if it was i'm sure they'd've fixed it by now
as far as lore goes, they've fixed other big errors before like the "meters vs miles" thing.
at this point it aughta be intentional
The parasite gives the virus increased lifespan and the virus infects others right?
Or how does the symbiosis work again
Backwards. Virus prolongs the parasite, and in return parasites act as a extra vector of infection for the virus.
👍

If you listen to Dauda's report he's making it out like the virus is the mastermind behind this forced symbiosis and parasite is just the "Yes, honey" meme.
will there be alt R7 or we return back to original timeline in alt R6?
I think Calle confirmed that there won't be an alt7
There is no reason to
Unless just for the sake of it
Maybe D4 is us sealing up the timelines
I'm actually low key hyped, because being an alt it will have to change the audio logs
Much like it changed our character logs, for example. Or Mr Truth.
What can of batshit nonsense Schaeffer will preach to us in A1 this time...
I mean we do remember now
“Do you- do you remember me? I told you to go deeper, remember?”
Makes sense in a way now to the new payers
AI
So its just an AI that forces us to do rundowns
Yes
It hijacked the original ai Biocom that manages the complex
Nope, none of that.
Just basics.
There was an original AI called BIOCOM (BioCommunications) which operated the facility, but then it was hijacked by W4RDN protocol who forcefully took over and now runs the remains of the facility.
How it got there, by who, what is its' goal... Zero on that.
We have a log that pretty much directly tells us that hacking BIOCOM is next to impossible.
Which doesn't help.
if biocom's mainframe/processing unit is organic, what happens if placing it into a HSU? 🙃
Put an entire program folder into a ZIP then UNZIP it and see how it works after that.
the monsters have dumpys

yeh :D
and look closely at a shooters face too they sure have a face too
look close enough and you'll see their nipples too
It's actually a neat look into human psyche isn't it
These are technically absolutely horrifying monsters made from terribly mutated human individuals.
But by the time you killed about 100 of them you just no longer care.
They now just look goofy to me.

Look at this fella
100 is a low number ngl, in ur first 3 levels u must come across 150 or so id say
maybe more like 1000
He looks like a dumbo
I imagine this happened to our team in game too
They just no longer see these guys as a threat, probably
Not any one individual anyway
A horde sure, but that's a horde
Otherwise it's just this little asshole with his squiky voice
CERRAR PUERTA

Lore question
What do they put in tool ammo that can refill c-foam, different types of turret bullets, and landmines, all from the same box
game mechanics
Schrodinger's tool refill. It's simultaneously all of them and none of them, collapsing on the exact one you need when you use the refill
the same applies for ammopacks
fuckin' imagine if differents tool consumed different packs
then agian, ammo packs also refill different kinda of ammo
you're telling me HCP, Sniper, LMG and SMG all have their ammo in that... And you can only give it to 1?
Yeah. Game mechanics, much unfortunately.
At some point you have to cut off the realism or else you're risking just recreating IRL logistics, a.k.a. the things that turn wars into many-year-long-grinds
Friednly reminder that germans invented a special device that you could stab into a russian PPSH so that it could accept german MP44 bullets
i mean think of dayz, u need one type of bullet for one tyoe of gun and to find both, it can take u many hours
dependin on just position n such
Impossible challenge

? they are there tho https://gtfo.fandom.com/wiki/ALT://Rundown_5.0_Logs
I literally went through comparing every single one, they're all there. Maybe there's like one missing.
Genuine question: how exactly do you guys acquire logs?
The legit way?
The cheating way?
Or the data mining way?
Data Mining so I don't have to type everything myself (used to do that, takes quite a bit of time). Then mostly taking screenshots while playing normally. If I end up missing some because they are in some optional zones, I go back with mods to make sure to find them all.
So I thought. Alright, that leaves little room for mistakes.
Lol wiki says its only till r4 alt
Ah. Just the contents issue. The page is there, you can even Google it and get it first result.
That's how I find it every time.
Also I swear Frosty had that issue before and Duck said he already fixed it. Weird.
Maybe some big brain reversed the change.
Oh, yeah as Artek said, it's just not linked ^^ And yeah frosty was talking about yet another link that wasn't there. Let's see if I can fix that on mobile.
OK should be linked now

Rereading R5 logs I've stumbled on an issue for upcoming R6.
This new Schaeffer is way more collected and thoughtful than our old one. He directly says that he doesn't consider Warden a threat.
So... What's going to happen in R6DX? It will be out of character for him to kill the Unit 22 out of the blue this time.
Either it will be an accident or... Or it will be a self defense situation.
But why would it be...
Cause the Units will be the new enemy type in R8
Fucking imagine if alt R6 and R7 Schaeffer's will be completely different people. Players who pay attention will be so confused upon reaching R7.
The new Schaeffer wants to destroy Warden even more than the old one. It's just that for some reason the old one still wants to go down as deep as possible, and eventually get free
Go deeper to be set free...
Even the old Schaeffer is crazier. But in R7 he literally pummeled Warden.
This game becomes more and more like Phoenix Point lore wise by the update.
Inb4 virus is a creation of Shaggoth or something.
I feel like r8 is going to be the warden pretending that it has been beaten but is just watching to see what happens, and towards the end just trying to kill us
Could be the case, since for all intents and purposes it should've seen this coming.
I will remind you that Warden has taken over Biocom. And we essentially hacked into one of Biocom's systems
We disconnected Warden from this system, but he's in one piece. Although I still don't understand what that thing is.
More so read, but yes.
Whatever is going on is affecting more than just garganta.
But he did have a physical recording of it on his drives or whatever it is he has.
So:
A) The audio recording glitched from one universe to another
B) It is the Mr Truth who dimension hoped from a universe where he didn't had that call to one where he did
C) He's losing memories, even though he never was near an HSU.
A bit of fantasy: ALT:Rundown 6, a sudden teleportation to the winter version of Alpha
I don't think we have seen even 0.001% of this planet
Also correct
Frankly were lucky it didn't send us straight to north pole or something
Or to the bottom of local ocean
Planets are very big places
Capcom's Lost Planet... again
God, now I'm just thinking of mech based combat. Those games were amazing. Terrible shame the franchise died with #3
Hey, first game was alright
I'd argue 2nd game was great too. Co-op especially
Story makes no fucking sense but aesthetics were top notch
Snow is just peak when it comes to horror environments to me, and I don't know if that's just due to my love of The Thing, or what
But isolated arctic environments or like deep sea are 100% some of the best settings imo for horror
Same with space, and why Dead Space did so well
Sleeper fish would be awesome though you know water effects would be too much investment for 10cc to bother with. They'd've had to have planned for that from the get-go, Ala Bioshock
if this game had another few years of content we might've seen that
If a healthy individual gets thrown into GTFO's the complex, are there any ways for the person to avoid NAM-V infection? 🤔
A small one. Very small one. Otherwise you'll have to climb onto an hsu, which is sort of cheating.
this is very bad. even if you "win", you still die, your entire origin earth too.
its in the air you breathe. basically impossible to avoid infection
fog is only areas of extreme concentration
schaeffer being alive is... a plot hole in and of itself.
The lore seems to put a lot of emphasis on dates. Many events seem to be delayed by about a week or two.
I still can't fully grasp this multiverse BS and why Warden needs it.
Warden Is aware of it (membranes) and he's directly working around it. Why? Is this his way to stall for time? Because namv is just that big of a piece of shit to deal with and this doomed facility is his one and only chance to do something about it, reality limitations and slowly dying prisoners be damned?
This reeks of desperation.
He could be immune
Him, of all people? That would be exceptionally cheap.
As far as we know no one is immune and no such case was ever recorded
Welp it like that with Ellie from the last of us
Not comparable, also her was a very unique case
Shaff doesn't have an excuse
Aside from writers' whim
In post apocalyptic stories, if they have a person who is immune, they are a direct plot point and their immunity almost always is the entire plot, in the effort to save humanity. Schaeffer isn't out to save anyone except himself.
It would be incredibly poor writing to shoe-horn in at this point. If he was going to be immune, it's something we would have learned really early on, since it would be a significant part of his character.
Writing it now, would be at best, an excuse to keep the plot going. The plot as a whole of GTGO is still just "what is the warden doing"?
It's not a good idea to make two seperate narratives within a single story. Those that do attempt this as far as I am aware, exclusively combine them around the mid-point to form a single narrative. We have one rundown left

I'm not likely to believe that the staff that write the story of GTFO at 10cc are unable to follow basic, common understanding of storytelling
This is a thing that is beyond misunderstanding, errors, or plotholes. This is basic high-school level fundamentals
Frankly I'm not sure why they'd introduce new characters in the story at this point anyhow. He will never get a full character arc.
The following quote: "I am the fucking virus" I would assume to be an analogy to that of a computer virus, hijacking Warden's control over biocom, which he later goes on to do.
Rather than being meant to be taken literally, as NAM-V
Of course, that's a stretch
To me it's just a very raw line of defilement
He just wanted a cool comeback
But it does bothers me that he ignored the obvious warning
Like come on
"I'm not taking orders anymore, I'm giving them"
He says a lot of these ultimately meaningless one-liners.
With what he says you'd assume the effects on the story and game as a whole would be drastic, but honestly we are still doing the same things we have always done
It's also an interesting thought that maybe warden started whatever caused ALT// to undo schaeffer tapping into biocom as a sort of "fuck you"
Since it essentially reverted us way back before that happened.
Just a thought. It is a massive coincidence that alt happens immediately after schaeffer finally gets what he wants
But it would be very funny if Warden decided to tap into other realities just trying to sidestep Schaeffer's intervention
Which just throws more questions at r8. They can't possibly answer everything.
But that doesn't explain something Schaeffer himself says: "Theyre clearing a path in my direction, but I don't think they are after me. Warden wants KDS DEEP."
The ending of GTFO is almost guaranteed to be dissapointing at this point.
Also if this was truly the case Warden should just stop KSO'ing him in every reality
Most likely, halo 2 style cliffhanger.
Schaeffer gets what he wants, ready to go, game end
Gsmeplay isn't going to change in any significant way
Gtfo 2, the xcom like turned based strategy
It'll just stop when shaeffer does because... what else? Make both an Inner tileset AND a surface earth one in a single rundown? What about an ending cutscene?
Honestly gtfo would be the perfect setting for that kind of game. It already works in squads, and has much better potential for cutscenes and grand scenarios
Fps games, especially gtfo which has randomly generated tiles, isn't suited for setpiece events.
The destination teleports themselves are just single small locked off chunks of what could be a free roam style level
Hell, more than half of them have been in caves or caverns
Other half, blocked off by sheer cliffs.
The one open one, r7c2 I think, doesn't give you the opportunity to explore
R6B1 had some
Gtfo has extraordinary potential... but not as a fps.
But very bluebalish in retrospect
3rd person tactical style would be great honestly, but anything like this requires a "from the ground up" approach
If 10cc ever decide to make a GTFO 2, I'm certain it would be 10 times better than the original
Because they'll have the ability to design what they want beforehand
Liek checkpoints, not having to design it in an already finished thing, and end up a buggy mess
You see, I don't really think that's the right way to go though.
The hardcore stuff is great. It's a unique angle that draws players
Left For Dead works because it's casual. Brainless fun.
You don't see people really theorizing or digging into the lore of left for dead like they do dark souls
Actually kinda wrong
There were some bits and pieces
Writing on the walls I safe rooms say a lot
The green flu yes.
But if you consider the total population of people that play left for dead... the percentage that care for that is significantly less
That is what I'm getting at
The midnight riders still being alive
Eh, it's more so everything was explored already
It's not worth as much time, effort, and investment in a game like L4D because less people care
There's a couple of videos on YouTube, they are pretty interesting
Regardless if the total player count is 10,000 or 100,000
The only big issue is that it leads nowhere
We don't even know how the story of 2nd crew ended
This is another thing. Gtfo spreads it out too much. New massive info every update
It's not a linear narrative
Last we saw them was flying away on that helicopter and it's complete radiosilence after that
Everything we have is from decades ago
None of the lore and story we learn is really pertinent to the current situation
It's like a completely seperate narrative
Low key a drag
Good for background lore, but not good for retention
The average player, as is quite obvious, doesn't know shit about the story of gtfo
Even with our community resources here, we are a very small minority
Despite being a significant part of what 10cc spends their time working on
You know the community reaction to the forced audio in r6
They hated that lore was being "shoved down their throats"
They didn't give a shit before
It was great for us, yes.
But they didn't care. It's a fundamental split on priorities
They don't play the game for the story, yet 10cc focuses heavily on it
You get what I'm saying?
They are trying to do too much at once
They need a sequel from the ground up, designed for a more compelling DIRECT story. Not just background newsclippings about people that are long, long dead.
i feel like if they had more story in the earlier rundowns it wouldnt have been so jarring
Think this: playing as a miner in a survival horror style game in the mines, DURING the lockdown. There are other people still alive that haven't died to the virus yet, and Kovac squads are a constant threat looking to kill anybody alive
I think the NATO team could be an interesting pov
Their misadventures are like by the book horror movies
Only if the game isn't entirely in garganta, and has surface levels. Otherwise, it could easily fall into the same trap of repeating levels over and over
Imo, procedurally generated levels was a mistake
Most certainly. Warframe has this issue too, but the way that game is played no one cares
Is the warden an AI or a person?
You can't have a story when the plot takes you to the same 5 rooms every level. There is no journey
Most certainly an AI
AI.
Recommend reading the "for dummies" document in the pins of this channel
o7
Well... Actually...
There's a small possibility it could be something else
Maybe even an eldrich god
Even warframe has dedicated quests that aren't random. The sacrifice, new war, second dream, were fucking fantastic
Still no toilets though
Eh, they can get away with that given the nature of warframes, which I won't spoil here.
And kiddos basically permanently live in the chair at the back of the orbiter
Not anymore they don't
Also like millions of years in the future
Shhh. I said kiddos. Not adultos
If you have any questions that it doesn't answer for you, let me know.
Allen go brr
@burnt wren old intro was like “succeed or die”
Would hope that they atleast say something like “Prisoners/KSOs deployment initiated”
And then based on is it a return or a forwarding extraction scan
“HSUs redeployed for extraction awaiting Prisoners/KSOs”
Aye just got back from preaching gospel to a couple degenerates what’s poppin in here
||hi woods||
I loved when the warden said “sussy or die” at the start of every mission
pretty sure this has not been confirmed? the warden could be a trojan program that is used by someone or something to gain access to biocom.
Real reaction
Bruh. Trojan by who? Unless you are talking allens,
It's Kovac, who are long dead.
daylight project, kovac, aliens
