Overclocking is a bad meme for gamers

There's minimal reason to overclock outside of voiding the warranty, showing you can, or in the case of data work and such you're doing it to speed up a process.

If you know what you're doing even if it's for gaming its fine, just a waste if it's only to push your fps counter up to frames your current hardware isn't even capable of rendering

Just became my max temp limit is 100 C doesn't mean that 95 is good or does it ...?? If it spikes just for a few milliseconds i wouldn't care but that isn't the case. CPU stays in 90-96 range for 2-6 seconds, that might not be much BUT it happens on every single loadingscreen so after all it isn't healthy for the cpu and if the game could be programmed more efficenty to avoid these insane spikes that would be good.

just a hunch by your symptoms, xbox 150-170mb but pc only 30mb.. sounds like your pc has a setting on the ethernet interface where the max transmit unit is too small, very much hindering actual speeds

i had this exactly for some reason (long time ago), my interface had mtu/mss which was abysmally small making my download speed less than 20% of available.. doing a small tweak on the interface fixed it

the other thing that comes to mind is.... if somehow xbox connects to a "bridge port" (or wifi goes bridged) and gets a direct ip address. for your pc, your modem has an NAT profile enabled on the ethernet jack, but the modem has a cpu from 2003 (had that too, router could pass 100mb/s bridged but only 18mb/s when going thru its NAT) ..

in case your pc is always slow no matter where u test or download from .... u could check your xbox system settings -> network -> info, is the xbox directly connected or behind the modem local network (10.x or 192.x usually) .. and for your pc the same.. if not, then try plugging your pc to another port on the router/modem and fast.com to see if <jeremy clarkson> speeeeed

bridge: modem just passing internet thru, device gets a "real" ip. nat / network address translation: modem has ip and creates a local network and "translates" traffic thru so your pc is "off internet" but everyrhing still works... some modems/routers really struggle to perform on the latter

You can also change the location of where you are downloading from. I live off the west coast of Canada near the US and it defaults to Vancouver Canada but I get way faster speeds from Seattle as the server is way bigger and has a better bandwidth. Just a thought it you think your speeds are slow. This is just a download server so ping etc is kinda irrelevant and this doesn't affect ingame server settings just where you download from. Just a thought that might help some get better speeds.

Just for context I have 100mb download so about 30-40MBs I got like 15-20 from Vancouver and like 32 on Seattle. It can make a huge difference.

I hope this is the right channel, I have an issue: I bought GTFO today on Steam. I have a Windows 10 PC, using a Nvidia 1080 Ti and i7 processor, my PC is more then capable of running any game decently. Once I downloaded the game it ran without issue, I played a CO-OP with a friend, played the tutorial and the first mission. Then we stopped for a few hours. When he got back, I wanted to start up the game and it didn't work. My game get's stuck on the loading screen. I start the game in my steam libary, it starts, I get the warning about flashing lights, then I get a black screen for a couple of seconds, then a red screen where I can hear music for about 1 second, then the red screen just freezes and nothing happens (I left it alone for 10min).

What I tried: I verified the game files on steam, I reinstalled the game, I restarted my PC, I turned off my virus scanner, I updated my Graphics driver, I disabled the steam overlay for GTFO (was recommended online). None of that fixed it.
I am out of ideas. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be?

my friends loading into a rundown seems a bit problematic and takes alot of time

his loading is laggy and makes the computer unresponsive.

even though first mission loading took ages he still gets to play the game absolutely fine without lags

though second mission makes his game unresponsive and his pc totally freezes

I've set gtfo to high priority in task manager, set nvidia's performance to max, lowered my in-game resolution, set fog quality to very low, and upped my cpu culling workload (as it can handle it). It's concerning that a game is forcing computer shut down. Life of the ddr3 ram could be at its end which would require new ram and/or a board. Alright D0c, I have an arguement with my technician with him saying that 850W is not enough for 12700K, 3080TI, Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro AX, 2x16gbs 3600 CL18, H100x with 2x stock fans, LL120 3x with hub in a Lian Li O11 Mini. PSU being a Cooler Master V850w.

With the client saying he would only play light games being Valorant, CS:GO, LoL, and Apex... and he's getting rid of his R5 3600, B550, 16gbs ram, Hyper212, RTX 2070, etc... because his computer "was not fast enough."
