My 3080 ftw3 would hit 83 in a SFF NCase. I then undervolted it and elevated the case a bit. Wouldn’t go past 65°
Now I have a Meshlicious undervolted and in GTFO, it’s like 55°, but I limit the frames to 90

either way, they are miles ahead of the 8700k. I went from 9700K to 12700k and its pretty massive
overall FPS increase isnt huge as I play at 1440p, but its a lot more solid.

yup, thats the problem with 12 gen intel. If you buy a K sku, might as well also go with Z690 for OC'ing. Buying a K sku without plans to OC you can go a B660 board for a bit less
but K sku without OC'ing in mind is kind of a waste

not a bad plan. This is my hobby not my business so I didnt "need" to upgrade but I wanted to. Most games I play were fine with my 9700k/3080. Honestly, that set up was more than sufficient. But I convinced myself to upgrade cause certain parts of CP2077 just chugged and got cpu bound. Now I dont have that problem, and I lie to myself by saying I wint upgrade for 5 more years

All jokes aside, I feel that the 12 gen CPU’s from Intel finally level the playing field and will kick start some true competition. AMD is also set to release some new stuff fairly soon I believe so it might be worth it to wait. I’ve just always been an Intel user

You can edit the voltages through the bios, however I do not believe you can get a four hundred percent increase before suffering an unstable voltage problem. You might be able to cook an egg on it before it bricks though.

a card like that will letyou take it to 40% oc tops before it grows morbidly unstable. remember extra juice+ extra clock speeds =hardcrash. also never overclock it kills part lifespan.

I always opt for downloading a windows iso from heidoc's iso downloader and load it into the USB with rufus
or if you want you can just search for a stripped down windows iso if that's your kind of thing

And 200mm fans don't have enough pressure to effectively work a rad up front without replacing them with just more fans and a rad up front losing the fresh airflow I want

as long as you don't want to use a big air cooler or a "normal" AIO it's a good case. can only bottom mount AIO (water gets into the pump) and big CPU coolers does not fit at all

The most basic advice I can give right now is the try to plug in your keyboard to a USB 1.0 slot. 2.0 has issues connecting straight to BIOS

Ssds dont need a heatsink in a laptop, moreover there is no clearance for it. The case itself should act as a heatsink as there probably isnt much airflow over it

I'd say so. The mesh bottom makes it pretty comfy to sit on, and you don't need to worry about the foam getting pressed in or making contact with anything on the chair

About 300 hours with proton as host
My general feeling on it is, performance is generally on par with windows or slightly worse. 970, 3770k. Advice is lower fog, shadows, bump prerendered frames by 1. Vsync off, cap to refresh.
Have gamemode set to boost gpu clock by 200mhz
The proton db reports might be stale from when reloading checkp nerfed everones frames, that was fixed.
