Doubt is server
its the only game that does it
Did you turn off extra stuff in the settings
extra stuff in vr chat?
In one of the settings if I remember there is a way to disable some of it
To make it lag less
yea ive tried it
Rip
it didn't seem to help
it doesnt happen that much
but should i have any bottle necks in my pc im bulding?
Ehhh I can check later
ok
When they make raytracing ram
so is their a height
or no i cant see one
i need to know the height for cpu cooler clearance
i can make 51 mm work
i think
but it doesnt seem like they have a height for those rams
never mind
found it its 45 mm
also is it better to get the cl 18 for 3600mhz for that or just go with 3200 mhz cl 16
3200 is more stable with your cpu
ok then i will probably get that just cause it seems like a good option
plus smaller then vengeance rgb pro
and only 1 mm bigger then sl
ok so any more suggestions i update list
and depending on my dad cause im giving him my prebuilt cause he is buying a new 240 ssd
and most likely giving me a 1tb hdd
to replace the 2tb since i got 1 tb ssd nvme m.2
so we will see what 240 gb he buys me
3600 ram is fine for 5000series
and you'll actually get more performance from quad channel
planning to order a custom built pc, and idk where to go to find big pc nerds
anyone here got good advice for my choices that id show you, or somewhere else for me to go?
just wait around a bunch of nerds are here
pictures allowed in this chat
Hm.
That’s me
Anyone who's willing to help me out, i'm one of those people who know little to nothing about PC's. I've gotten advice from friends over the last hour or two and have came up with this. I have questions about just about everything, including price and whether or not these parts actually go together (i was genuinely pairing an i5 with a RTX3080 at one point)...
So why ping
am ordering from NZXT, my friends and some family buy from them often
im 99% sure what ive built there is frustrating to some people
so i wanna know what i can do to fix it
ah i meant to have 16
ignore that
didnt change it before i took the pic
im curious about the gpu, cooling and power supplies
and have questions on the motherboard
Cooling is alright, but you could go cheaper ig lol
- does cooling really matter, as long as its decent?
- what do power supplies do and what kind could/should i shoot for?
- purpose of the motherboard? heard it was just to hold things in place, so i went for the cheaper one.
took me too long to type that lol
they have a $35 dollar cooler but it seemed small, so i was concerned over that
What is it?
called a "DEEPCOOL GAMMAX GTE V2"
does the term 'dba' mean anything
Uh
ill see
one of my friends could prob teach me if they werent so busy
whats up with the power supply stuff?
$140 part
Basically takes power out of outlet and splits it correctly to every part that it’s connected to
could you tell me if what ive picked may be too high or low for what i have
always wanna go cheaper if i need to
dont wanna waste power or money
You don’t want to go cheap ish on the PSU, you get a bad PSU, it won’t work or it will for a moment and possibly kill some other component with it
better safe than sorry then
plus you need a psu thats able to properly supply enough power
I can recommend a Corsair cmx 750w with an 80+ gold rating
theyve got a EVGA 750W GQ Gold up for grabs
750
wish they had a bit wider variety but
meh
oh uh
its 80+ as well
Then use amazon ig and learn to build lol
Yeah, just use a video and don’t worry about cable management as long as it’s not touching the fans or GPU backplate
do they even make sense together
yee
Yeah it’s pretty good
i5 6-core 4.1 Ghz with the 3060
shweet
and im shooting for 2TB of storage
maybe 1.5
laptop
yeah
geez
i have an external hdd
Get an SSD with dram paired with a 2TB HDD
Or an m.2 SSD if the motherboard has a slot
oh yea forgot abt the motherboard
does that help my performance or is that just a placeholder of sorts
may be the most dumbest question of the year but
eh
I dunno too much about the motherboard but I know of AMD ones ish. The motherboard is pretty important to decide on for different things
Some will have more USB ports, some less, some will have a single m.2 or more
Yeah
ah is the motherboard what gives me my 6 usb ports in the back of my tower
yes
then a motherboard with sufficient vrm cooling for cpu, preferably 2 m2 slots and 4 ram slots is good enough
m2 slots usually come as standard now
not rare anymore
they all come with them, so it seems so
Make sure they support m.2 nvme
M.2 NVME will have one indent on the golden part, SATA ones will have one
16gb ram
On the m.2 SSD ofc
Personally with the RTX 3000, I’d go 750w cause lol those guys are power suckers
750w for 3070
3060 650 is fine
and that motherboard in your screenshot is way too overkill
I'll do a LOT more research and talk to plenty more people, but this is my rough draft for what i think would be a pretty decent PC.
coming out to around $2k
motherboard too highend
really
no clue what overclocking is to begin with
Wish my motherboard could do my RAM 3600MHz instead of 3200MHz
Then again I’m still not sure if it’s ram or board fault
Or I’m just a terrible OCer lol
ill see what i can do about the motherboard, but most of nzxts options come with overclock already
could try contacting support on both of the companies
My ram should be able to do OC as it’s got Samsung b die
no b560 options?
nada

There’s always the build it yourself option
could go with an amd build
only have to pay for parts shipping
100% trust that they can’t rip you off on bad build
5600x with a b550 motherboard
That’s also a great combo there
thats the other option
Might even get to spend a little more on other stuff if you can
id be restarting completely, not like thatd matter much tho
Unless they made it more expensive
i would just not know what im doing again lol
cpu 5600x
mb b550
ram 16gb 3200mhz
Try to do a quick put together with a b550 board, 5600X CPU, and 3060 Ti
Then we’ll just help with the rest lol
would be cheaper prolly too
Unless they’re kinda assholes and charge extra for AMD
already have sufficient power from your 750w psu
But tbf it’s gotten a little higher on price compared to last gen
not needed for gaming
That’s fine I guess, but it’s unnecessary
All of the CPUs are absolutely great for gaming
So just get 5600X
more than enough
i just dont want to have a gpu working harder than my cpu
yknow
so that sounds good
1080p?
The GPU is supposed to work 100%
1440
yea its preferable to have a gpu bottleneck than a cpu
ill have to make up my mind
CPU has to work less, as long as it’s below 70-80% use for CPU
what motherboard were u telling me abt earlier
b550
i see that one
1440p will easily saturate a 3060
ASrock b550 Taichi
is that a good thing
well you'll be using the 3060 to the fullest
I forget about a low use (20-30%) CPU and 100% GPU if that made problems but I’m sure it’s perfectly fine
The 3060 should do 1440p at 144FPS+ fine
even at native 1920 x 1080 itll look great
pc will come out to around $2.3k
if it would really get close to even 120 fps id be more than happy
1080p will not look nearly as good as 1440p
yea
It’s still pretty good, but the image quality massively increase
im going from a office computer to a decent pc
so either way its gonna be a huge difference
Yeah now you’ll play Minesweeper at 1440p

old school rs

That’s pretty good, you could go a little under for the PSU
alot
But I’ve seen 650W gold for like 100$ lol
could i run gtfo max settings
ye
I have a 2070 super, should be just like 3060 or less better
its not worth to run on max though
only thing you need on max is shadows
was gonna do the 750 but the 850 was just $10 more
sounded good to me
Ah nice
if i need to ill go down
shadows in any game is a big fps hog
seeing the invis enemies >
as long as i never have to play windowed again
im fine
idk if youve ever looked at a shadow scout with low quality shadows but its ass
especially if you dont have a bio and need to do a whole alarm
ill prob be playing games like gtfo, deep rock, csgo, valorant, cod games, etc
any new fps that drop

I’m sure the 3060 will run anything above 120FPS with anything
its terrible
ik
i played gtfo windowed lowest graphics across the board
i play on a laptop
like 800x600
Cod games? Yeah COD world at war
its hard to tell where tf they are sometimes
so cool
modded waw is fun
You know what’s so cool? Me thinking of possibly getting a laptop
Custom zombies map gaming
but yea if yall think those specs look good, a $2.3k price tag doesnt sound like a bad deal if that pc really would be a beast
Or a good ol multiplayer shooting
it will
of course
2.3K for today on a PC like that ain’t bad at all
custom builds are sometimes pricier cause of labor etc
im not gonna order this thing for at least another week
if u wanna whale
Lol it’ll be fine
nah all ur parts are good
i dont see any gigabyte parts so you're good
its just extra cost from someone building it when you could build it for free
If any are fucked on arrival, call for replacement for no cost
am rolling with the 2TB storage
nzxt bld is good service
bc apparently 1.5TB would require a new case
thus half my parts got to change
size reasons
ig
Lmao
Fucking stupid site builder making you have to change a case for that
Any PC could fit at least 10TB
too bad they have very limited motherboard models
Yeah, if you wanna not use them, go use PC part picker
They’ll autocheck for parts compatibility warnings and filter out incompatible ones
build services give a peace of mind cause all warranty under one reciept
The only warning I’ve ever faced with them is “Ryzen 3000/5000? Ryzen motherboard? Might need bios update” which in almost literally no cases anymore, a true thing
nah just their options were 250GB, 500GB or 1TB
if i wanted 1.5TB i had to do 3 500GB
case can only hold 2 memory thingies
apparently
did they say if it was a 2.5' ssd or an m2
Damn
He fucking shit on us
Or at least, an SSD with DRAM
wd blues have dram
The only thing I’d buy from WD are HDDs
Solid state drive
bruh
Basically chad version of HDD
which means?
Hdd is hard disk drive, cheap as hell, gives big storage amount, but disc = slow ish
like is ssd my storage or smth
ssds are fast storage yes
Just a bunch of fucking idk and it goes brrrrrr
think it was 2.5
ssd means super speedy drives
But pricy, and some might not even have DRAM
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
then
you would have an easier time when u upgrade yourself
cause u can get m2 sticks
DRAM is like a mini CPU inside an SSD that’ll locate any file really fast and lets your SSD live a lot longer than one without a DRAM
and those require literally 1 screw
A standoff and s screw
stuff that should already be mounted on motherboard
that some companies dont do
cause they're bitches
Lol
Do the least amount of work possible
What if
What if all the companies did their best and put all the standoffs on the motherboard, or make it something completely built into a case?
am v hyped for the pc
just gotta do more and more research
might just sleep on it
its a good mindset
Went with 1060 3GB
i mean the amount of people that just dump money on a prebuilt out there
saw the prebuilts on nzxt for @2k
My brother went with the 7700K for my PC though
Whiiiich was ehhh
4 cores for lot money, but I assume he got one that was used, because the 8700K most def must have gotten out by then
I made the switch to currently a 3700X from AMD when my 7700K started to just do weird stutters and freezes
7700k is basically an i3 now
Oh how so much changes over a few years
tfw 3770k
so i just checked to see if my rig can run GTFO.. apparently i can meet minimums (just barely) so, i wonder if i should try and get the game or wait until i get a better rig
you could try it out, if its not very playable you can just refund it until you upgrade
i think i may have to wait. it sounds like a great game i dont wanna ruin it on a terrible machine 😦
I had to order it lol (Acer 311 C733-C5AS)
$100 CAD chromebook that is $100 less than N3060 sure I can use it on the go.
andddd the bot flags the link
I've been buying a lot of games, 90% which i cant play on my current build, so I've bought them in preparation for when i get a better one. If you think you'll enjoy a game you can't play, just buy it now and play it later.
2 weeks since purchase, less than 2 hours played - steam has a no questions asked refund policy within those conditions
just try it and see if it runs bearably
especially if that game is on sale
I collect games I never end up playing all the time. It's a habit I'm trying to drop. At least
is happy
psst
how good is a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700T CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz
copy and paste name
oh uh
yea
its my current computers cpu
wondering what makes a pc lackluster at performing like mine does
Whats the max frequency the CPU can go up to in terms of GHz?
Processor Base Frequency
2.80 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency
3.60 GHz
Thats not a lot considering that most CPU's today go up to 5 GHz. But for a 6th Gen I7 it's alright
but if i were to meddle with said cpu with a modern pc, then it wouldnt perform as well as more common ones
right
grammar.
Well computers have a lot of factors. I terms of performance there is a lot; CPU Cores and the frequency the run at. RAM and the speed of said RAM, Storage for the operation system, how fast can it read and write. And then i terms of game performance the GPU have a lot to say
So it's hard to say without all the information at hand
then there is also cooling, most setups gets bottlenecked because of heat. So how good is your cooling system inside your rig and how does it transport the warm air from inside the tower outside the tower, how much can it drag into the tower etc
with this pc i couldnt tell ya much. outside of what i can find in my settings id have to just research on google
There is a program called "Speccy" which will give you all the information on each component of the computer
i just know its a office computer that can play games, but not excel at them. which is why i want to get a genuin rig within the month
it's free to download that is
Well it also depends on the budget you are working with
last night i went over some stuff with people in this channel and relatively have what i want in mind
are you going for a prebuilt or making it yourself
custom built but im not doing it
i tell them what parts i want
so nvm
pre built
have you looked at any of msi's prebuilt ones? would reccomend
whats ur budget right now
including keyboard, monitor, etc or just tower
whats ur monitors resolution and framerate
wanna say it was 1080p but i dont even know the fps
do you plan on upgrading it in the future
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7 6700T @ 2.80GHz 34 °C
Skylake 14nm Technology
RAM
12.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1063MHz (15-15-15-36)
Motherboard
HP 81B4 (U3E1) 45 °C
Graphics
LF27T35 (1920x1080@59Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 530 (HP)
Storage
1863GB Seagate ST2000DM001-1ER164 (SATA ) 45 °C
2794GB Seagate Backup+ Desk USB Device (USB (SATA) ) 45 °C
Optical Drives
hp PLDS DVDRW DU8AESH
most likely
would highly recommend this then https://us-store.msi.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_74_108&product_id=887
but if i were going for upgrades id work on it after i get the tower, unless something else pops up
that ones nice
ive been planning on researching with the intent of better prices, but now i may consider other options for a tower itself
as ive said im definetely taking it slow with this purchase
ive been planning on getting a new rig for awhile, and learning more about them
So now my PC wont load it'll turn on but it'll just shut off and repeat I deleted the Ryzen drivers and restarted and then it started to happen
so why did you delete ryzen drivers?
just wondering
cause if you were trying to uninstall old drivers ryzen installer should have done it for you
why did you delete ryzen drivers???
And how lol?
because i switch to intel
......
did you format your old drives
except for windows
isnt it recommended you do that when you change cpus or am i crazy
or uninstall it all and reinstall windows
and windows should grab your required drives
i believe when you install it again
@fleet canopy is this right?
I mean, I assume you should be able to have drivers auto installed since it will recognize the device n all
Safe mode boot perhaps?
I'm not too sure but I possibly found something "You just need a working PC and a pendrive and a considerable net speed
You can create a bootable pendrive (Google it for more info) and then repair your Windows using Windows restore (Troubleshoot> Advance option> System Image Recovery ). You don't need to reinstall Windows."
alot people just say its easier to do fresh install
and leads to less hardware problems
Yeah that should do a quick fix if you don't mind doing that
@abstract kite i would try what Canada said and if that doesn't work try a fresh install of windows
Neato
Tho
Booted into safe mode and properly uninstalled the ryzen stuff then just kept trying to boot eventually it worked
I never realized how intensive Rendering was
If anyone cared for a LG C1 review lol
OLED as it is, can't promise it'd last long since iirc they'll go bad pretty fast when they're used as often as normal monitors, but here I guess
Behehehehehehe
nice
yea rendering is not good for a pc that cant handle it that well better make sure you have effective cooling or that cpu will be hot as shit
but the cpu safety should keep it from getting to the point where it would kill itself
Just bought that board but got the white version
i have the MSI MEG 550 unify
I got it so I can use 5000 series cpus and more ssd's
Hi
I am here

Hello
I am looking for a Standing Microphone, Budget is around $150. Anyone have any Suggestions that is not the Blue Yeti?
Honestly, i just have the cheap amazon choice cardioid mic that was 30$
Sound quality is pretty good.
my only complaint is that the tripod bases are in the way of my monitors
I would go with an xlr setup for that budget. Cheapest xlr mic should beat the most expensive USB mic
Yo guys, I have recently got the i9 9900k cpu and tested it out by playing a bit of A1 and A2 whilst recording with the x264 encoder with high settings and veryfast preset on OBS. The temps of the CPU were reaching constant 100 degrees celcius. I ahve a Thermalright macho x2 cooler (if you wont find it on the internet, its pretty simmiliar to the Le Grand Macho). Is my cooler not strong enough for my new cpu? The cpu is running in stock speeds btw
The temps have only risen this high when I used the x264 encoder alongside with the high settings, so it deosnt happen when I just play
Yes what clay said
Idk what the cooler is though lol
realistically, if your cpu is breaking 85c with max fan speed or higher at max load with that cooler
something is dearly wrong
If it’s a water cooler, probably the fans aren’t working/not connected
6 heat pipes on both sides
enough to put that standard cpu cooler everyone defaults to thats not the stock one to shame.
The temps of CPU could also depend on the airflow of your case too
realistically, we need more information
I don’t think airflow caused a 100
you'd be surprise.
So when you put the CPU under heavy load, it will heat up the case and without the fans, the heat will be stuck inside. So, the CPU cooler keeps drawing in hot air
The paste and plastic cover thing is sorta common too
Yeah i forgot about the plastic
Oh sorry ;-;
I think it could be thermal paste or he/she forgot to peel off the plastic
That's all from me
but also, if you typically leave the cpu fan unplugged, it wont post.
yea cause it seems like that cpu cooler shouldn't have an issue
I know I almost put my dark rock pro 4 (don’t have, lost am4) without taking off the plastic
im betting he didnt pull plastic
did you pull the plastic off the back of cpu cooler and put thermal paste
its a 250 w cpu cooler so something is up
Maybe the cooler just needs a good kiss
maybe
I put thermal paste and removed the plastic thingy
The paste is from be quite, dont remember which modell, i threw away the package, it costs like 10 euros
I have a sharkoon nightshark rgb case, 2 intake fans and 1 fan pushing the air out
All fans are running in the case
Its quite warm in this room, not sure how much exactly since I dont have a measerument tool
But its definetily way warmer in my room than outside and rn for example outside is 24 degrees celcius
I will check and open my case later, also observe the fans, aswell as check my cpu (, I will face palm myself if there is actually a plastic cover still on the cpu)
And a reminder again: It only happens when I record/stream with high settings in obs
AND LASTLY: I think I forgot to mention one important thing which is, that the cpu Power rises in avarage of 110 Watts and peaks at about 130 Watts (again, only when ai start recording/streaming)
Perhaps that is the issue? :/
well i already see a problem with that case in my opinion
is that it not getting as much airflow in the front as it could but it should be good still i would hope
send a picture of the case and inside
of case
just want to see the setup
Do I sacrifice the back argb light for the cable till I can find out why it's not lighting ?
that's way to much rgb lol but it looks cool
@cinder crypt I have a GPU cable to like the motherboard one but my GPU is too close to the front for it to fit haha I think I'm being ambitious and I need a bigger case
Turn 103mp off
Images dont load for me for some reason, maybe I will take a new picture once I come back
@cinder crypt
@lunar zenith you got Samsung ultra ?
Pardon? Samsung Ultra?
S21 ultra *If so turn your 103mp off
Are you reffering to my case fans?
You need nitro to upload the images the mb is too high happens to me all the time
Ahhh
I have the xiaomi mi note 10
Yeah, I will just do another picture once I come back home
@lunar zenith no haha sorry I'm not really being clear. Yer the images are too high in mb it happens with my s21 when I use the 103mp cam haha
I dont remember whether I used the 108mp mode for these pictures, they are very old
So cant really tell
Damn, another long session of endless headaches and pain just to fix a fucking cpu awaits me, lol
you could try compressing them to lower the file size
Dont know if this is any helpful @cinder crypt but my pc is standing between the table and the bed
my previous i5 8500 didnt run into these temperature problems
Have you switched the case recently?
Can’t see very well, blurry
But looks like front is just no good for airflow

yea that what i was thinking aswell it looks like glass in the front and slits on side which reduces the amount of airflow it could have
vs a case with mesh front
like one i got
yea that doesnt seem lile it would get very much air
like
and yea it might of not done it with your i5 becuase if it didnt have good airflow it would be less noticeable on a lower wattage cpu
but you went from 25 watt cpu
to a 95
so ypu would need to make sure that the fans are blowing correctly depending on what type of case its supposed to be
ahh
yes
the case i meant to be watercooled
mine says air but i can also be watercooled
@lunar zenith
so if it says watercooled on Amazon i assume the case is meant to be fully water cooled
so if you are using just fans it make sense why your cpu is getting hot
it say it can be aircooled but its designed around water cooling
so i would look for a case thats mores designed around air cooling
like this one the one im getting
it is designed to be air cooling but can use a aio
There’s the Meshify C if you want. The front has a nice mesh design
Wait a little over a decade and it’s done
Acrylic/glass front panels piss me off.
What could otherwise be decent airflow is replaced by hot bullshit
And drivers to control fan speed manually if you want
dont
get a meshify c
get the meshify 2 compact instead
better parts compatibility
Is meshify a chassis?
yeah a case
i got the meshify c right before the meshify 2compact came out

ragerts
easier filter cleaning too
yes
for a compact airflow focused case i'd reccommend the meshify 2 compact
if size isnt an issue u could go for the fractal torrent
🙏
my recommendation is the case i have its the coolermaster mastercase h500p mesh not none mesh version
it has easy filter cleaning all the place where filters are come out easy to clean
and it seems like its has good airflow not the best but its recommended from gamer nexus
Got my other cable in but I'm going to buy a bigger case I think
@cinder crypt is that bigger that the td500 ? i need a bigger case
more colors than that deep sea jellyfish.
Holy shit dude pick a color
rainbow pukes
if u want bigger case go for full towers or super towers
most cases nowadays are midtowers
7000D from corsair is pretty good and new
full tower big bois
@hasty prawn yes it is slightly bigger
in all aspects
this is cooler master mastercase h500p mesh argb
this is your case
they have 3 different versions of my case
there is h500 mesh argb $129.99
the h500p mesh argb which i got $183.99 but i got white one which was a little more expensive
and the h500m mesh argb $239.99
apparently you can put a heatsink on the one i got for a aio but gamer nexus said it really isn't efficient on the top
because of the glass or what ever is on top not mesh
also the bottom one which is the most expensive has a water pump bracket so if you want water cooling
hope this helped
also the one i got and below are easy to clean filters top one i believe does not have easy access to front fans and mesh
@cinder crypt do you think my shroud from my td500 will fit in that? Just wondering because I have a Asus Thor PSU and it would be a waste of money if it was hidden and I couldn't see the screen lol
@cinder crypt Also yes thanks it's helped I'll look into of I can switch the shrouds and if I can that may be my next case as my GPU is clearly to big for this one lol
@cinder crypt I'll have a look at the manual for it now online and see. I definitely need a bigger case with bigger fans as long as it can support a 360 rad on top I should be good. Thanks!
uhhh it should
but from what ive seen on it from the review on gamer nexus
in his opinion the raditor on top wouldnt be good cause it doesnt have a mesh top but idk if that true or not
it has mesh slits in top of it
ill take it out of its box
and take pics
hope this is enough
@hasty prawn
Maybe I could mount my AIO on the front and my fans on the front on the top.Yer that's more than enough thanks! I like cooler master cases. I'll have to look at them all as my GPU can get really hot so air flow is a must have haha
yea i really like easy access to everything i think ill like this case once i get everything else
i just need my ram,psu and my cpu cooler
and possibly a different back fan
so im so close
the case has also seemed like it improved from when gamer nexus reviewed it
the lock for the front of glass doesnt swivel all the way around to where you dont know where it locks
it only has 2 positions up or to the right now and one is locked one is unlocked
and yes just rewatched gamer nexus video he said if you wanted to you can take off both shrouds
psu and ssd/hdd shroud
also if your going to go all air cooling this would be good but a aio wont be optimal unless they have a mesh top instead of acrylic
but i wouldnt recommend puting fans up top definitely not just cause those fans are going to have a hard time pulling in air like that
if theres a mesh top though the radiator should be good to go up top ill check
doesnt seem like it
but thats completely up to you idk if putting radiator in front will help at all it might make it worse cause by the looks of it its a case made for positive pressure like gamer nexus said
@hasty prawn
so if your gonna put an aio i would recommend looking for a different case
just from what ive reasearched
@cinder crypt I have all my stuff I'm just moving case as this td500 gets too hot since my new GPU so I need a wider one I think.
@cinder crypt Yer it's a shame about the AIO I really like the big fans too but thanks for all your input I may end up getting a Corsair 1000d or something really big lol
yea np
DIY wooden case with big length too big for any case size
You can move that RGB part on those lian li cables bit higher like this if you are interested!
I am buying a new case that's wider so I am just going to sort it then but thanks ill adjust it when I move cases
Took me 5 hours but I finally installed my new motherboard successfully
Fuckin hyped
This case has no cable management options whatsoever. But I did it
lol nice
Testing AMD's FSR with a 6800XT on Vampire the Masquerade Bloodhunt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5unOFvtQ7A0
That's exactly what last night felt like
it might make the temps worse
Thought it might also but was worth a shot! Dropped my GPU & CPU temps by almost 10c just getting more airflow up through the entire case
nice
just precautions cause seen some sff case reviews where sticking fans underneath would sometimes make it worse
Yeah absolutely most sff cases don't like it
Have side airflow on this also so worked out as a positive overall

Yeah this was my first sff so was intimidating enough
Came out clean enough for my liking & first try
Fuck dude that's nice
These SFF builds are so sick
Always liked the way sff builds looked. But no way in hell will you catch me making one. Not smart enough for that
My hand size also disagrees to work with these haha
It was a major struggle but the payoff was worth it
Makes me wonder how big his hands are lol
Does this suffice hahaha
The only real struggle I found that smaller hands would help with was connecting the PSU cables & front connectors
GPU was just generally a pain to fit
This was with the old gpu but gives you an idea of what's going on in there
I have lanky hands so I'm real good at plugging shit in past parts.
I struggled plugging my 8 pins into my 3070 and my 3080ti but the 3080 was a bit more open so it only took about half an hour lol. Everytime I almost had it in the 6 came away from the 2 lol
should be getting the rest of my pc parts next month
i have my cpu cooler coming in tomorrow
I had a client kill his rtx 3060 with that setup 2 weeks ago. Same case and configuration lol.
wtf did he do hahaha
Card overheat and died
Oof. Gotta take care of the thermals alright
deshroud mod
Only way my old card would fit, my new card is smaller somehow
optimum tech fans
Yesssss
The deshroud on that card w/ an undervolt dropepd it by 17°C
Just use saw and cut GPU if too big
Shave off a few capacitors
New CPU today
Im jealous
What motherboard you gonna slap it in?
What the fuck
I typed what and that came up so I tappef it
@viral geode lol it's in a Asus prime b550 plus at the moment until Asus release a board with more than 2 m.2 slots. It's not on the high end but tbh it's a good board for its price I will be getting a x570 soon though
Minesweeper is going to look soo damn good!!
Ah I've got the rog b550 as well. That's what I'll have for awhile
@viral geode I think they are good tbh just wish it had at least 3 m.2 slots I have seen the MSI b550 unify has 4 but I want to stick with Asus so I'll wait for one from them that isn't for a threadripper lol
I bought a bad 1tb SSD as I didn't know I could do better at the time but I don't want to throw it away that's the only reason I want more. Otherwise there is no reason to change my board really as it does everything I need. Hopefully the next generation will, I could get one of thouse w.d PCIE cards things that have to in but it would be directly under my GPU so it would probably get cooked lol
Like literally under it lol
I'm sure it would be fine with good airflow. Otherwise I've got a 1tb m.2 in and I intend to get another soon that's 2tb for my games so I can scrap my 2 tb external hard drive
I'm glad I got that b550 as well because when I put my 3900x in my old b450m a/c wifi it struggled. No crashes or anything but fuck it was slow
Send your CPU through the motherboard, and your motherboard into the wall
V nice
5950x is a monster
A hot monster though
i dont recommend using a sledgehammer to put a cpu in instead use a assault rifle
when you build a gaming pc for minesweeper
also whats that application
your using
Geforce experience
hmmm
ive never looked at that page on there
i kinda figured thats what it was but i had never seen those options on mine
man of culture
@cinder crypt geoforce experience mate
@jade ermine haha, I put the same pic on the subreddit and I'm getting lots of passive aggressive comments lol
Nah, use a .50 BMG sniper rifle for the maximum hit power
Also nice, hope it works great
They can cry about it cause they don’t have gamer 5950X
Anyway dunno why you even bought 5950X smh I have a 3700X it’s perfectly fine and can run games great. You paid for an overpriced thing you probably would switch out about 3 years after using it smh makes me disappointed. Anyway nice cpu and stuff yeah

@fleet canopy I did detect a hint of Envy from them as it was because I took a picture with my phone and used the app to post instead of a screen shot straight from my pc lol It was that ridiculous only envy would explain such a negative response.
Ah lmao
@fleet canopy I have a 5800x but I kinda ruined it lol I tried to get a 5900x but they had none in so I had to get the 5950 or downgrade basically lol
How’d you ruin? Pins bend broke bad?
Lol , funny story that's the only thing that didn't happen. So I am a new to it all and was replacing my 240 aio for a 360 but I put to much thermal paste so it was running hot. When I removed the AIO I pulled harder and ripped my CPU out too. It was literally stuck to the heat plate. Well I cleaned it up and used the artic cleaner 1 and 2 then I scrubbed it with a toothbrush the first I found. Then I used my portable AC to try dry it bit it made it really wet. Metal and cool air condensation kinda stuff. Then I used a hair dryer to dry it and I also got thermal paste in the socket too. After all that it ran really hot not matter what I did I tried 4 different thermal paste applications and ripped out my CPU every time I tried a new one then I got a thermal pad. So yer that's the story how I basically killed my first CPU half an hour after installing my new 3080ti i paid loads for. The story is hilarious when I tell it properly lol.
Oh I'm selling a 5800x just thought I'd let you know too lol
😉
God damn
I drenched the socket in alcohol too I actually got all the paste out lol
You’re planning to sell a broken CPU is what I’m hearing lol
Semi Broken lol it runs 10c higher than it did before haha
Oh dang lmao
So it used to idle at 30-35c now it's 40-45c lol
Anyway yeah just twist the cpu cooler before pulling it out
My pc never shut down though I can't with the Asus LC 360 lol
The amd plate moves like 2 mm if that lol
I tried that first my face when I looked at my CPU stuck was priceless. I said to my gf do you see that gold thing there she went yer I said that shouldn't be there lol
Gold thing what thing?
Bleh
If I use the 103 MP mode it pushes my mb over the limit lol
I have to screen shot and crop or take them without it but when I took the pics I wanted the high resolution so I could use space zoom and stuff.
Yer only way I can get it on one sec I'll get a better one
Reminds me of the time a guy had an image that had the biggest fucking resolution
It was like a million by a million or something lmao
But yeah I see nothing with the pins
I focused in on different parts so I can see it all zoomed right in. I have an s21 ultra so I assume discord with down grade the pic when I post it like other apps do
I might be blind as fuck but idk lol
Pins are all fins I think I cooked it with the hairdryer or I just wasn't putting the right amount of thermal paste back on
That's how much I put on my 5950 and everything is sweet now so my CPU may not even be broke lol
Someone took a shit
Probably
That's my board socket soaked in alcohol lol
A drunk motherboard
Looks wet
so how did it get stuck
you said you assumed it was heat
lol theres a video that says play your pc heat up cpu before pulling the fan off
or aio in your case
it says let it heat up then gently twist it side to side and pull
gently
ill just have to remember that
Yeah heat up paste so it won’t stick like superglue lol
@cinder crypt yer i saw all those videos after I had ripped it out 4 times i felt stupid too. I was like why didnt i think of that. apparently though its common for people to do if you use too much paste it creates a vacuum lol
I accidentally got paste in my motherboard socket
Gamer moment
Leason learned, if you have paste on the side of the CPU dont be lazy and wipe it off.
Everything works fine though
hopefully next month my pc will be ready to be assembled
and hopefully i did not get any dead parts

Not enough room for poddy to flex in that desk setup
Poddy gamer plan to sell his gaming laptop $50 less than he bought it because covid prices made it increase

Then buy a laptop thats lighter weight

Time to hit ebay and see what a used 2070 Super is
The same or more than the MSRP of a 6800XT
Perfect
That should at least pay off half of the fucked prices of a 6800XT

Video is melting my brain on trying to understand how this is even possible
Once there was a guy that made vodka liquid cooling system and ur wondering why PCs are getting stronger
tsk
Not about it being too powerful
But the fact that you just need to have the most powerful and power hungry PC to pass a set of guidelines so it can be sold in a few fucking places
I got a new tower 🤣
That on the right is actually a midi lol
Or shall I use my frilled dragons new enclosure haha
5000D?
@barren wadi 7000D
@barren wadi the one next to it is my midi cooler master td500
Makes it look lkke a micro haha
does anyone know if the game will slow down if i move it to a hard drive instead of a ssd?
the game? GTFO?
loading times? absolutely.
and considering you need to re drop every time you fail, its a good amount of time save.
but active gameplay? the effects would be minimal at worst.
is dx11 anti aliasing bad ? cuz if i use dx11 on game like gta 5 there will be a lot of jagged edges and when i switch to dx10.1 it reduce the jagged edges a lot
Have you tried all anti aliasing settings in dx11?
I’d prefer to keep dx11 for performance
msaa and fxaa i cant see any different but a lot of jagged edges
on dx10.1 i dont see any performance drop
u need to go pretty high msaa to smooth
fxaa is very old aa tech
for slower pcs
also resolution dependant, sometimes super sampling is better than aa too
also game dependant to an extent i suppose, on some games i still get mad jaggies even with max aa cranked
like grw
bugs me so much
I try using AA in gta but it just never worked for me and I couldn’t give a shit
Maybe gta’s aa is just bad
It amazes me that you can compliment something about a console and everybody will attack you for being on pc
They’re just crybabies about it
most of those usually have a 750ti and 4th gen i5/i7
the ones that gate keep pcmr
pretty crinj
No they were console players
I was talking about how I missed the absurd amount of bullet magnetism in console destiny and they attacked me for complimenting their own platform
tfw i7 3770k and 970
Bullet magnetism? I think that’s the entirety of Destiny 2 and tracking shit
Yeah that
That doesn't exist in the PC version and I was saying I miss it
My keyboard and mouse aim sucks
I think rockets have that? Think that’s the only thing
No on console you can hit a headshot like 3 feet away from the head
Get gud
It's insane the amount of magnetism console has
Just shoot in their general direction and let aim assist and magnetism do the rest
On keyboard and mouse it's gone
Fucking can’t understand how I managed to be good on console
And it's a difficult to get used to
But all I said was I missed it and they jumped on me and I was so confused
Because again, they’re crybaby losers with barely half a single brain cell
I got nothin against console players. I came from using console my whole life to PC like 6 months ago.
Yeah it’s just that most of the time console people are assholes about anything that isn’t their favorite console
Fair nuff
And they just kind of have this stupid superiority ego about it

bless the mods
