Not even on acid does my game look like that
liquid bug and "kaleidoscope" bug have been in the game for centuries, if not millenia
hey is this a new feature?
og r4a1 also had a place you could fall through the floor, before the bulkhead door room
Leave it to Hertz to find game-breaking things
Also happened to me the dark screen i told my friend then he shot me to see if downing me would help, surprisingly it did cost me my health but i was able to see again
but i didnt fall through the map... that would have been cool
when I try to start a level i get stuck in the drop part forever is this a glitch?
also the discord link doesnt work in the game
Its all features
What’d be a good place to purchase like customs or prebuilts online
Do any of you have experience troubleshooting sony vegas?
stopped using Vegas because it lacks so many extension support
None. All prebuilts are bad and the best you can find is a company that makes an acceptable prebuilt. There is not a single good one. Alienware is a great example of some of the most horrific prebuilts you can imagine for sooo much money
I know Alienware is horrifically bad
But mainly what are the “acceptable” prebuilts
it's always cheaper if you buy parts than prebuilt
I know that, I’m fine with spending extra
You might want to look into companies that sponsored YouTubers
Not a great metric but some YouTubers at least looked into the company and trusts them to some degree
Might be able to snag a discount too
expect to spend 20% more for 10% less
just fucking find a willing nerd and slap that shit together in 4 hours
Oh I've heard Build Redux getting sponsored and such
Problem is, I do also want like 64 gigs of RAM
What system are you gonna run? AM5/13th Gen or AM4/12th Gen
I have 64 gb of DDR5 ram that I have in excess
I can just give them to you for cheap
Like the one where youtubers have it in the description or comments "Me and my team at <company> personally designed the PCs for this game" when it's total bullshit and everyone shares the sme exact 3 different PCs to buy regardless
Seems like Starforge (C*ck and balls company logo) has okay pcs
I remember one company who had advertising that was a little wild but they did have good cheap PCs
why do people want Starforge ugh it's not my money anyway so take that skill issues
I mean I can understand not wanting a c*ck and balls on your pc
and tbf it's probably priced iffy so I'm unsure of how they are
This is gonna sound stupid so yesterday I tried turning on my PC like usual but the monitor said that it doesn’t have an input (hdmi) so I took the cord and plugged it up to my PlayStation and it worked just fine.
no
I am physically not able to understand
Maybe you plugged it into the motherboard with a CPU that has no igpu instead of the dedicated one?
No it’s in the dedicated it always has been
Im still new to it and looking to do my first build thats liquid cooled
I have my current system which is still pretty nice but looking to build one thats similar to mine which is also liquid cooled, but that is better than what i have... Device name DESKTOP-BMDPOC8
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Device ID F792A496-FEF2-4257-AD16-AE1F918F5312
Product ID 00326-10000-00000-AA453
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
Running a RTX 2070 Super graphics card. looking to do something similar or better for about $1,000
or less
liequid cooling is so simple nowadays with AIO's
unless if you're doing a custom loop
whats a good vpn to use
🆕
don't bother unless you want to hop regions for locked content. at that point you'll need to google for which VPNs work with the service you want to get around in. it's an arms race between the services and VPNs for blocking or getting around those blocks
does anyone know how i can equalize my mic so that it isn't quiet when i talk normally and then ear piercingly loud when i shout
almost every software lets u cap the mike high end, not sure if discord.. but make sure your +110% thing isnt active in windows mixer
right click the audio icon bottom right, go into audio settings, look at the input tabs
ah i need to activate windows
most mic have a click box for the "over loud" allowance thing
3rd party application it is
can check in a bit once on deck
discord voice/video settings has an automatic gain control feature. it's not perfect but it helps even out loud fluctuations. otherwise you're looking for a compressor either in software or hardware.
Guys i wonder the difference between core i5 10400F and the ryzen 5 3600
help me get more framerate
what do i do
my gpu utilization is low
the fans barely ever spin up
cpu?
sounds like so many mobs in 1 zone the single-thread thing starts hitting limits on Update() or something
if amd ryzen x, try disabling smt (hyperthreading) and get process lasso and give gtfo processors 1-7 (not zero) .. that helped me immensely on my older ryzen
so i have to disable multicore
more fps, less of the jerky enemy animation and stuttering sleeper animation etc
my pc is new!
just the hyperthreading bit, your windows will do fine even if the cores are not split into 50% threads
if your gpu is sleeping and not even spinning, i would say its cpu bound
but the cpu is literally like the newest model
It does not matter LOL
the only thing better than this is the x3d
This is GTFO we are talking about
doesn't cost u a thing to try tho, i used to bang my head on ryzen quirks for hours
This game sucks in optimization
also check if u have resizable BAR on in bios
that should help with cpu <-> motherboard <-> gpu stuff
its on
Gtfo deciding to burn 50000 GB of ram for no reason
try playing with SMT off and dont have gtfo run core 0 (the first one) .. windows does stuff with it and only it
(not exclusively but still a number of things)
i wouldn't suggest if i wasn't a true believer, i enjoy the results of my tweaks daily now (for a few weeks now) ..
w h y
amd
does every unique game has terrible optimization
No
GTFO is just terrible
It's mostly just gtfo
As I said before City Skylines is better
But also cause it's usually an indie game
And that’s saying something
r8e2 is about the worst thing to run on gtfo, amount of sleepers of which how many are bosses etc
Just look at it
open a zone, all of them start running their cycles .. and god forbid if they wake ..
I’m working on an optimization guide but idk how much it’ll help
It's gtfo
usually walking in a room and the sleepers raise their heads max 3 fps and glow for a long time == be careful boys, the dogs are loose
Wdym optimization
There’s only so much you can do
Yes
And in GTFO it’s very little
I'm sure given the effort, that code can build to be utterly awful to run regardless of the fact it runs with a 2d thing
You can make a 2d game that theoretically you'd have infinite amount of frames but could put in a code that requests for something every single millisecond and it'd cause horrible game performance and could potentially break your pc
Kinda like yandere Sim for instance
Game shouldn't be hard to run but the absolute idiot doesn't know how to program efficiently enough
Could be argued it's a graphics thing (highest polygon item being a toothbrush lmao), but it really isn't that
sorry, what GPU?
cause i was playing this game on a bloody gtx970 and an i7 3770k
(on minimum, but still)
What is a good and cheap upgrade for a nivida GeForce GTX 1050 ?
rtx 3060 goes for € ~360 around here, i would consider that a "minimum" for upgrade
What about 1660 ?
back order stuff and ~as expensive
Ok
1660 won't do gtfo too well tho, i srsly recommend aim 2080 or 3060 at least
for amd radeon stuff i dunno, might get a good deal cheaper but 🤷♂️
6700xt is pretty solid
wait for the 40xx supers to come out and you should see corresponding price drops in the amd 6000/7000 and nvidia 3000 series cards
bruh I just realised intel is still on 7nm
what year is this
2018?
apple is literally on 3nm and amd is on 5
research hard
7nm is insanely small already
that line 50 atoms of silicon wide
You can get 3080 TI for 550€ what more do you want
Pre eth pricing
Literally got one last sunday tho
wanted 4090 but that was too much of a steal not to take
Hi
I cannot see anything lol, like the blacks are too black
Shadow emenies are entirely invisible regardless of the flashlight I'm using. I can't even see the outline
Is there a particular setting that would help with that ?
this depends on the specific room you're in. don't expect to see them clearly without a LRF for the most part.
take a weapon that has thermals until you have a better understanding of identifying and locating enemies based on sound.
If you aim your flashlight low enough, sometimes you can see their feet cast a shadow when sleeping.
if that isnt enough for you, consider the biotracker.
Don't expect to regularly headshot shadows without thermals.
for the most part, a seasoned party will absolutely barrel through a shadowroom without regards to visiblity.
if we have shadow giants, and we can pull the room, we'll do so if its not a big deal.
if a person has thermals, they should do their best to call out giants.
of course, the obvious choice for dealing with shadows is to discuss the strategy you want to go with.
of course, if you hear a shadow giants deeper croaking, proceed carefully.
and call them out to your party members so they dont walk into them
I just go by feel and hope I don’t bump into frank
Shadow settings, from my experience, do make shadows sharper and easier to see
i used to use a 1660
it was decent
the only lag i got was on the dropdown
i had an 1660 too, og r5 days, it was "ok", alltho i was glad i got this 3060 before r6 came 🙂
im running a 3060 x 3600
dont plan to upgrade until the 50 series cards come out
whch should be like 2025-2026
Next year
and 50 series will be more expensive than 40 for sure
and they will yet again make a new connector for 5090
12 x 6pin power
1200w psu
just for the gpu itself tho
external gpu
dropdown is laggy for other reasons (cpu peaks to 100% during that so its just loading the level)
Hello I hope all is well, does anyone stream on twitch, can you DM me I been wanting to but have no idea how to set it up and all that
get obs studio, run it as admin (ctrl-shift-click + yes) .. login to twitch, setup stream bandwidth at least 8000kb/s, setup display capture, audio output capture and maybe audio input capture for microphone.. set a title for your stream, click on start streaming. done.
later, setup scenes / overlays so u can click on "taking a break" and the like. obs has like 91192529464956495 plugins for all kinds of shenanigans. do enjoy.
The bit about run as admin is interesting
Back in the days of Windows 7, I remember you could set the priority of processes without needed to run them as admin
Wait nevermind you can still also do this
Idk how it would fare compared to running stuff as admin
there's a bunch of people that have defaults set to as little permissions as possible, so a valid highlight to run as admin
Starting streamer with no transcoding streaming 8k bitrate it extremely overkill and will hurt your viewership. 6k to 8k as an affiliate is ok, I'd start with like 4.5k streaming 720p just to catch mobile viewers that would otherwise leave as they can't load up your stream. @mild galleon
8k works fine if you have a decent PC and you live in a region with good internet, especially if you plan to stream in your native language (EG german)
A german could easily watch 8k bitrate streams on their phone and so for a german target audience you would stream 8k-12k bitrate (also, as a western european, western europeans are spoiled when it comes to image quality)
just don't cap your stream too tight, leads to weird bugging out, like video pausing for 10 seconds and resuming for 5, pausing for 10 ... etc
@torpid elbow Twitch to my knowledge caps bitrate at 6k anyway and it's not about YOUR pc being able to handle it, it's about the VIEWERS being able to watch your stream, if you're not an affiliate and have a few viewers only, you don't have transcoding which means the viewers cant set their stream quality lower so if they have a shoddy internet the stream will lag for them
Not everyone has gigabit German chad internet
yea thats what I was saying, if you stream in your native language in a rich country with good internet you can pump it up, if not, no
If you average 1-3 viewers, losing even one is a big deal. :) But yeah, if you're speaking German and not English, yeah I guess your viewership would also be 99% German
ehh personally Im not even german it was just an example, but I agree with your point that bitrate should be low if you have no transcoding
My personal favorite are people who stream at 1080p60fps with 2k bitrate making the entire stream pixelated
yeah compression is a bitch
if you wanna stream 1080p60 you seriously need 6.5k
maybe even 8
although gtfo being such a dark game does help because the black areas can be compressed without too much loss so the lighter areas are more detailed usually
dell is such a joke that my custom pc made of a used mining motherboard, 6th gen i5, GTX 760 and 12GB of ram operates more stable and nicely
one time my dell refused to turn on at all for no reason
Hello, is this card good among all RTX 3080 Ti ?
RTX 3080Ti MSI VENTUS 3X OC FULLBOX
only reason to be taking from the 30 series is if you find a good budgetary finds
unless its a handmedown
in simpler words, good if very cheap
that also means probably don't buy a new one, because MSRP is too much
thank you for decoding my autismese
the funny part is neither of us answered his question i think
but that's what happens when it's not a pointed question
id rather not spoonfeed his easily answered question.
in reality he'd probably get 10 extra frames tops with some sort of magic card.
reality is cruel, at the end of the day, its the same silicon.
The only exceptions being reliability and whether it's a watercooled GPU instead of the standard fan blower
in reality you can have won the megamillions silicon lottery but still have dogshit performance because your case has 2 120mm fans. one on the cpu and one in the back.
Reliability and some companies have better warranties and QC then others
warranties hinge heavily on where you live
but generally 3000 series or 4000 series are cooled very adequately. would struggle to point out a problematic SKU.
I'm sure there are measurable differences, but outside of overclocking I'd say the margin is too small to care about
Pretty sure back in the days of my i7 4790k, I did in fact win the megamillions silicon lottery
It was just... Way too good.
Gotta get SOME wins in life
Gee I wonder what you're trying to imply here
I love pcs and tech
Right
Totally
The fact discussing gtfo mods was once more punished than targeted harassment is just
So good
Literally whose dick do I have to suck in order for actual action to be taken
I'm ready to go to town if that's what it takes
I don't ever remember being that harsh on mod discussion unless people continuously crossed the line.
At any rate, I hope we've been able to sort things out today
yurp
ive got a separate server im logging my personal dev work in but wanted to send a few things here
this is tech talk mwahaha
just modeled this... idk about the stone too much but i love how the crystals intersect
im abt to scream though there was something messing up the symmetry of this model so I couldnt texture it properly.... I accidentally made a loop cut inside the barrel of the model and cant undo it. so I might just have to remake the entire thing
Oh that sucks
I really love the model tho
just upgraded from 1660ti to rtx 4070 super, and i have the same exact same fps as before, using ryzen 5 5600 OCed, in other games i see huge difference obviously but not gtfo :) Is it just cuz it's cpu heavy? And no I don't have v sync on :3
If CPU was the bottleneck, then changing the GPU won't help
CPU doesn't look stellar, but GTFO should absolutely be playable
its the only game where i dont see massive boost
How do you know?
i see legit no difference which is funny
ryzen 5 5600 and rtx 4070 super or 4070 ti is a common combo thats well known
definitely not a bottle nock on either part
LOL
- if it was bottle neck wouldnt it show in other games too
that's not how software works, no
Some games are more CPU heavy
Some are more GPU heavy
It's not a "this combo will always have GPU as bottleneck" thing, it's a "this combo will have GPU as bottleneck on THIS game"
in this case it's cpu heavy cuz it's using 5% of my gpu
even on e2 which is the hardest level to run in the game from my experience
R7 levels with the gardens are also pretty hard on your machine TBF
yeah
ok but being CPU heavy to the point its not using my gpu at all is just dogshit optimization
thats not just being cpu heavy
thats just being objectively shit
but yeah
That's defo an optimization problem, but yeah I was just answering on the CPU heavy part
yeah
i guess i shouldve spent 700 euro on a cpu and not gpu
since i upgraded my gpu just cuz of gtfo
😭
i legit dont play any other game that'd need any performance heavy shit
Recommended CPU for GTFO has base clock of 4GHz, and turbo of 4.GHz
Only 4 cores/8 threads, so it's probably not that multithreaded (which isn't automatically bad, not everything can be multithreaded)
its 6 and 12 tho
xd
thats why im surprised
i can run metro exodus enhanced edition on ultra on 180fps
but nah gtfo stays at around 100 on r8e2
and at the final scan it'd 100% go down to like 40-50
like what the fuck AHHAHAHA
this is just sad
gtfo is just terribad when it comes to optimisation
some parts of the game stable 240, some drop to 45-50

7900xtx, 7800x3d
the gpu is clocked to high hell too
Once again, more cores means nothing
If your application is single threaded, then it's single threaded
😭
but tbf multithreading is hard
For a multitude of reasons
And is just not an adapted solution everywhere
@quiet heron Set CPU Culling in settings to “Small” if you haven’t already (#guides-and-reviews message)
I have
Disable hyperthreading on AMD CPUs as well
makes no difference for me
no clue what that is, ill look into it, thanks
7700x, 7900xt. At 1080p 75hz there are still sections i might drop under 75 on not even max settings
However, game still somehow looks like the same dogshit it always has on max when compared to med/ min
Got the exact same thing as you just with a 3060 and I think I get 150 ish frames (ryzen 5 5600x not sure if that makes a difference though)
i gotta upgrade cpu... ryz7 2700x + 3060 can barely do 60, dips below often. smt off, resize-bar on, process-lasso..
You need pcie 4.0
5600x is pretty cheap atm
Check https://www.amd.com
Though your motherboard may limit the speed to 3.0
is very possible, mobo is like 2018 vintage
gotta shop a new one soon anyway, went thru like 4 psu's already 😄
Some games do probably show a difference with 6 vs 8 or 12 but again only some among so so many games
Outside of the whole 4 cores thing, it hasn't really changed that much
i guess the major thing is the cpu single core speed, up that and everything boosts
Everyone basically moved from 4 cores as a new CPU back in like 2016 as a mid/high thing
Maybethat's too early?
Multithreading also seems like it hasn't really gotten too much into use also to what my memory gets
Doesn't quite seem like it's made a big impact quite yet but I also don't actually know how much effect it has today
back on ubuntu it was a choice of SMT on, max 4 fps, SMT off, easy 60 vsync. or, u had to manually disable cores 9-15 (kill SMT basically)
(far cry games running straight wine, no proton back then yet)
Ubuntu sucks
laughs in AMD 5GHz+ cruise
Based
this is a fedora fanclub space.
Nah
The only move is to use alpine
So if you say "I use Linux" and some GNU incel starts crying about how it's "actually, GNU/Linux", you can reply "no, it's linux without gnu"
when that gnu incel hits
What CPU goes best with a AM4 motherboard? I just upgraded my gpu now I wanna do my cpu. I have a AM4 motherboard and not sure what cpu is best to go with. I’ve done read her but I’m pretty indecisive so yall tell what I should go with?
Strictly for gaming.
Right now I’m running a ryzen 7 3700x with a 4070 ti super @ 1440p
The best you can get is a 5800X3D
As it is though, perfectly fine really
Also depending on the motherboard too, not really just AM4, I'm not sure what it is like trying to use a B/X300 board for something like the 5800X3d, but you would do fine with a B450
Yeah it’s a B450 board
But what about the 5900X?
That one is also compatible as well
5800x3d far better gaming
The absolute best for gaming really
Outside of the 7800X3D
if am4 your only real option is 5800x3d
yeah
5600x3d and 5700x3d are also neat, but I think it's worth to spring for a 5800x3d
Unless you are really short on cash
5600x3d might be oem only but 5700x3d is defo just out and about
well not oem only, but it's tied to some shop or sum shit idk
Sweet it looks like imma go with the 5800x3d

So good
5600x3d was microcenter exclusive, or still is I don't know
Gonna be my first build. Got the 4060 for a steal, only 245USD🥰(clearance and ramadhan/eid mubarak sale). Got a steal also for mobo+cpu, only 180$ for both
very nice

don't forget the IO shield/routing cpu power cable before putting in the motherboard
Man those IO shield are surprisingly sharp, got cut quite a lot

Beautiful. Next step is getting an nvme, aio, and slim fan on the side. Cable management is mess tho😅
Shoot....I forgot about that. I just put the fans forgetting about air flow direction
this case looks kinda funky, if you want to "fix" the airflow
id make the top fans outtake
and bottom intake
so you'd just need to flip the top ones by the looks of things
or use those 2 side fan mounts for intake
Yeah now that I check it, the top fans do intake lol.
and top 2 for outtake
Okay it's fixed now, all outtake except bottom.
The case came with this mesh as well...I'm not sure where to put it. No instruction about it. It has a sticky tape on one side and it also slightly magnetic
Anyway thanks for the tip about the top fan, couldn't believe I forgot about airflow direction
probably on the top, best guess
PCIe 7.0 is on track for a 2025 release, which means SSDs with speeds of up to 60GB/s should be available in the coming years https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/pcie-70-is-on-track-for-a-2025-release-which-means-ssds-with-speeds-of-up-to-60gbs-should-be-available-in-the-coming-years/
waow can't wait to uh, idk do something with that
also I wonder how durable these guys will be
can't wait to chainsmoke 4 1tb pcie 7.0 ssds in one day with diskmark
good luck seeing it in consumer devices within a decade. Only way i see it happening is if they're skipping 6. First getting CPU support, then motherboard support and finally an SSD that doesn't cost 5x or more
To be fair it's not going to change much
Those days, SSD's transfers are often limited by random reads on small files
Unless you do video, it's rare you move a few big files
i have pcie5. i have no pcie5 devices.
but i built this PC for the LOOONG haul
maybe grab an 8950x3d and a pcie5 gpu in 10 years
I dont even know what I have. I believe gen 4. When did gen 5 launch?
with the ryzen 7000 series on specific motherboards
Yeah some for 1 m.2 slot others with a full x16 slot too but those are very expensive boards
ive got an x670e so ive got an x16 and a single m.2
I've been watching some pc building vids on YT and something pique my mind. Is there a reason why people always plug the gpu into the mobo first BEFORE plugging the gpu's power pin?
gpu power is an easy to reach spot, in most cases there's no hassle plugging it in afterwards
cpu power can be difficult to reach if you install your motherboard first, that and the 24pin are things I make sure to plug-in prior
There's no point in plugging in the gpu power first because you d need to unplug it to do a good cable route through the back.
If you'd also notice, while they may have one side disconnected on any component, the side it's disconnected on, is the part that's probably moving first
Because at least one end of the cable needs to be free to route the cable.
General advice is plug in the side that's harder to reach first.
With a large heatsink, the cpu power can be hard to reach, even harder than it is to reach the psu
I'm confused what TDP actually is. Is it the amount of energy a component will eat? Or is it the amount of heat it produces?
I'm trying to calculate the PSU I needed for my new PC
You could use PC partpicker for them to calculate the power draw for you
I tend to want 200W above what it says
Especially what it is tooday with the cards, it is likely a good idea to anyway
Even a little more if you are looking into something like a 4090 lmao
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL1F-qliSUk This video goes in depth if you want to
This video talks about AMD's definition of TDP in great detail, deep-diving on Ryzen thermal design power, power consumption, heat load, and best CPU cooler choices.
Sponsor: Buy Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut (Amazon - https://geni.us/LCcsv)
Article: pending publication after the video!
Most people have likely seen "TDP" on a cooler box at some...
Rather than going for "more watts=better" go for warranty and quality tbh
TDP is a measurement of heat generated so a 125w TDP CPU should be cooled with at least a 125w cooler, although you should 100% go higher with Intel since they rate TDP before the CPU boosts, as far as I know amd are a bit better about it
tdp is arbitrarily defined
as we go on and on it means less and less with how cpus function
I wish it was actually standardized, so it'd become semi useful
to clarify, the reason why it means less is because CPUs are always boosting to a temperature target that for the most part can swamp out most but the absolute overkill coolers.
which makes its consideration less about what cooler you can get, but rather what cooler can you fit in your case.
however, very few people are hitting a cpu constantly up against that wall.
the other aspect of a problem is that cpu coolers themselves can measure a TDP dissipation, but its always relative to the difference in temperature in the test setup.
even then, all you get is a cpu that boosts more aggressivly when its already at its thermal target.
for the most part, when a cpu is boosting it heats up faster than the heatsink, which means the heatsink is already cold enough to disperse small boosts in consumer use.
there are a lot of ifs ands or buts and whys this does not really matter to an end consumer.
for the most part, the real bottleneck in this equation is the CPUs IHS.
no matter how magical your cpu cooler is, all this heat either needs to soak into the motherboard or travel through the IHS.
which is just straight up heat conduction.
I mean they boost until thermal throttle only if you tell them to
Disable AMD's PBO and they don't
No idea on Intel but I guess they've the same under a different name
my 7700x was rolling to 95c in prime95 at stock settings iirc, unless asus is pulling weird shit.
no idea about 7000s but on 5000s disabling PBO really improved the temps (also lowered clocks of course)
I'd tell you if PBO was on by default on my MoBo but it has been so long I dont remember
but anyway, cooling a cpu is about more than the dissipation of the cooler.
good case airflow i've found plays a significantly larger role.
so anyway, i recommend the program fancontrol, lets you really dial everything in autistically the way you desire.
without strange OEM fan control programs being kinda flakey
That's pretty normal for a 7700x at stock
Yes, that was the point.
7700x has pbo enabled by default
you’re correct
if you’re not cooling it with liquid nitrogen or some crazy custom loop it will just stay at 95
I recommend eco mode in ryzen master, somehow led to performance gains in some games as well. I don’t have the exact numbers but there are multiple reviews of ryzen eco mode giving better performance in gaming workloads
than regular PBO
(and your cpu stays at 70C with half the power consumption)
My cpu does not get hot for the most part when im gaming.
Is there a way to turn off ray tracing in this game? I just got a new gpu and I just want to compare the graphic with/without RT
I don't think this game has ray tracing to any amount?
Ok then
You can always adjust graphic settings in options 🤷♂️
Doesn't have
I've always wondered: Why do programs that bought from original website, whether it's antivirus or windows key, are SOOOO MUCH more expensive than if I bought it on retail store? I was going to buy win11 and I look to microsoft website and it cost me over 200USD, while if go to retail store near my home it's only 15-20$. Same goes for antivirus like Malwarebytes and Kaspersky, Adobe products etc
It has been said that if you buy a key from MMOGA or other sites, it may not be an OEM key. This means there are no updates for your Windows. But this is very rarely the case if you buy from reputable dealers
even if it wasnt, you could roll another 10 times and only win once, and still cost less than dealing with microsofts bullshit
High res bathroom floor tiles
am i the only one who straight up cant log into Nvidia? wanted to update my drivers, but it straight up wont let me log into the Geforce experience
if you have to, just do it manually
geforce experience is just not at all worth keeping
or using
Yeah ik already did that, but i did use it for clips, and i am too lazy to look out for other clipping softwares
definitely the easiest way to update your drivers tho
considering most gamers I know only update them once per year or so, not worth it
gfe was the sole reason for my low fps, first game after uninstall, ramp up details etc and still good fps.. so agreed, ditch gfe.
Never personally had a problem with it
I still use gfe for highlight
It's dumb that when I had it I would open gfe to update drivers (only thing I used it for anyway) and it would change all the settings on every single game it applied to so I would have to just set the settings back to how I originally had it
probably had a setting to disable
but after that couple times I figured I'd just get rid of it and just do it from the site
Gfe is so shit its embarrassing. How did they fuck it up worse than amd.
tbf amd adrenalin is actually really good
pretty hard to beat
the actual piece of software
release drivers can be unstable tho
It feels so sluggish tho
the software?
it doesn’t open very fast but neither does geforce
switching tabs is instant for me tho
loading media takes a bit
The tab transition counts
ah okay
Just the same way GTFO menu is mega sluggish
Ive never really had issues with it
gtfo loading in a rundown is sluggish I agree
like
When I want to tinker with my software and options, having to wait half a second after a click is
insane
bleep blip blip blip blip beep
Like ahah congrats dudes you can do fade ins!!! Very cool!!!!
😂💀
Clicking the "games" time is also pretty surprising
You would assume some caching may be possible
but nah
what the fuck is amd adrenaline
geforce for poor people
what the fuck is geforce
AMD is pretty shit at software
Which is very annoying because their hardware is like
More than respectable
if amd didnt have driver issues for the first 3-4 months after launching something new they would totally dominate nvidia
mfs got the best rock sculptors of all of Greece, but then went "noone is going to be able to use this efficiently"
idk about dominate, but the market would definitely be different
oh wait I mean gaming market specifically
Same
I'm a hardcore AMD fan, and I'm still considering going for NVIDIA next time I buy a GPU in 4/5 years
nvidia is way more than just their gaming market
The driver problem for new games is just horrible
Ill see what amd has before I look for nvidia options
Same, but the thing is
for the next few years I should be fine though
AMD is great for playing games, as long as they've been released for 6 months
Same, got the 7900 XTX
hear me out here
intel
intel is a newcomer
fish react this user
:3
hey ok ok
hear me out here
amiga integrated chipset
I like how the GPU market has to hope for INTEL, of all brands, to incentivize Nvidia to drop prices
There's a gigantical need for an actual competitor to Nvidia but the problem is that optimizing drivers for videogames is kind of a long and dual (as in, requires help from engine devs too) process, so good luck with that, ultimately Nvidia has been around for too long to be challanged in a reasonable amount of time IMHO
In a world where AMD had actual good drivers?
NVIDIA would be forced to lower their price so much
Kind of surprised that AMD doesn't have super good drivers
Yeah, it's like all of their resources go into making actual good hardware
But then
We don't have drivers to actually use the hardware
shit comes half a year to a year later
You're just preordering a graphics card that will perform better later on
you can only ask me for so much imagination
Literally get an extra 10-20 perhaps 30% extra performance later on down the line
But we are gonna sell you this thing right now in a state where it can game but it is okay and may have quite a lot of issues
You want to hear a funny?
At my place, the heat and hot water are part of the building complex, a shared thing, so not counted towards my electricity bills
On my electricity consumer pannel, I can clearly see what month I bought my 7900 XTX
And what month they finally patched the idle consumption
💀
Amazing
hmmmmmmmmmmm
GayMD please unfuck the cards
I will fuck the cards
Couldn't even spare some extra time to making it better on drivers
Also don't fuck the cards
i will fuck the cards
But :(
you might be able to arrest me
but youll never unfuck the cards
Sorry makroo, your GPU will never be unfucked after I'm done with it
:(
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
😳
is that a yes??

"hi teacher what's sex also im a hands on learner"
hi, what will be a good upgrade to my PC , im looking for the best quality price:
my PC specs:
- i5 6400
- 16 GB RAM DDR3 1866 Mhz
- 4 GB Video GTX 1050 TI
What's your budget?
Weird fucking issue.
Playing some Borderlands 2 today.
4k resolution, 160 frames. Everything's stable for a bit, until I notice very small framedrops (down to 150)
Check my windows monitor thing, and I notice these weird spikes. Anyone know what's up?
I'm on the latest windows update, and currently updating to the most recent driver as of 4 days ago.
160 -> 150 is such a small difference, it's likely just variation
unless you mean you feel a stutter
you could try disabling shadowplay
one scenario that could cause that could be your SSD getting random work from the OS, recordings and some game loading/unloading
assuming everything is on the same drive
do not trust task manager for anything other than cursory diagnostics. use a dedicated program.
I do feel a slight stutter. And I have everything on just 1 SSD.
I updated my driver, restarted my PC (again) and that seemed to fix it, atleast not noticing anything after

AMD is who you get CPUs from not GPUs at this point
Yeaaah
My 3060 is great and my CPU needs to be changed at some point
I have a ryzen 3700x
Good but I'm getting higher res monitors at some point and I want to be able to run it at decent frames
My gf has a fucking monster rig
Good Intel CPU and a 3080 ti
4k monitors
But yeah, if AMD released working software for their GPUs they would demolish Nvidia
competition is great for us, lower price hehe
And the price to performance is amazing for AMD
Lot cheaper but sadly ADRENALINE IS SHIT
Funny that you think this isn't a 2 way thing were devs rarely optimize for AMD GPUs as much as they do for Nvidia. And I say that as a Nvidia user.
You're right about AMD being bad software-driver side but I cant believe that it's 100% their fault
But what does it matter to a consumer? Intel entered the market so at least we probably will get a third player to compete on mid-high end.
I'm aware it's just unfortunate
It's both they are unable to cause of the market and because adrenaline kinda sucks
Any other linux users having really bad performance in the game now?
<@&408548765599793173> someone got hacked?
And Recommendation for "Utility" loadout? I use HEL Auto Pistol, HEL Rifle, Biotracker and Sledgehammer now
wrong channel
<@&408548765599793173> check every channel, it's posted everywhere
helloooo gamers, i’m currently looking for a new graphics card to upgrade too. i currently have a gtx 1650 & was wondering if rtx 4060 would be a significant upgrade to be good for a while
I would assume
at 1080p you'll get roughly 4x the amount of frames, so pretty decent but it might struggle in newer titles at or above 1080p
but you should be able to get at least 5 good years out of a 4060 at an enjoyable level.
past 5 years expect to be back on low for bleeding edge titles maybe. i cant see that far.
all this withstanding your GPU isnt horribly bottlenecked by the CPU
It would be a significant Upgrade, but 4060 is Infamous for being too pricey in comparison to alternatives with Same Power. If you find it with heavily marked down price it is still good tho
4060 having 8gb vram is fucking insulting. That think would probably kill with 12gb.
You bought a high end GPU to Play on high res? Too Bad
Everything is high end when you compare it to last decades hardware
At that pricepoint, there ain't really much competition but the 4060 on the Nvidia side anyway
The 3050s are bad, 3060 do around 10-20% less fps at 1080p (very roughly) and pull up more power, also no DLSS3 unless Nvidia changes their mind.
The only advantage of 3060 is 4 more GB of VRam but unless you're into AI that hardly matters at that performance
4060? high end.....?
isn't it equal to the 3060 !!!!
aside from funny dlss 3 that no one cares about
If I were upgrading from a 970 a 3060 would be high end imho
Lol
In that idea yeah sure
but especially as the 4060 is, just being a 3060 with a couple more features, it isn't really high end in my eyes lol
I upgraded from a 1060 to a 4090
can't really deny it when it's a 4090 lol
3060 and 4060 aren't the same
nor equal in performance unless you kinda stretch the term a bit
yeah they aren't high-end
that's kind of what I got long ago
I guess they got improved by software updates?
I remember they literally used to be almost 1 for 1 in performance outside of DLSS
From what I've seen it does around 10-20% more depending on the title, granted we're talking of stuff around 60-70 fps in stuff like RDR2
Watt consumption is much lower at around 150-ish Watts for a 3060 and around 110 for a 4060
My point is that, they are both priced at around the same (at least in my country) so for that pricepoint might aswell take a 4060
next step is what, a 4060 ti for like 150 more? eh
Anything past it is Not high end, its Overkill. Dont at me
calm your bell bottom shorts, its objectively not high end.
anyway i went from 970 to 7900xt
Welcome to world of shitty drivers
Ive had pretty much no issue.
The only issue i had was fan stop being finiky
And v2 snail in armored core being a fucking lightshow.
Hey, I'm an AMD fangirl, I have 7900xtx too
There is no need to pretend
Nowadays driver crashes are pretty rare but playing helldivers2 was guaranteed crash for the first month
As well as idle electricity consumption problems I could really see in my elec bill
Still very, very powerful card for its price
Oh yeah I remember 7000 series getting crashes in hell divers, I think turning off global illumination fixes that issue
Wasn't interested in playing helldivers, so i never played it. I'm just sharing my experience. All drivers for anything have problems.
I can live with minor bugs
Adrenaline is better than geforce experience imo.
How in tf could my pc plays Sekiro 120 fps at full graphics while it was barely surviving at stable 90fps at the lowest graphics when the bedhead horde comes.
because sekiro is optimized as hell on an engine from 15 years ago by a studio that has been using that engine since it was popular.
whereas unity is a patchwork of things that barely hold together with ducttape
bruh
Broseph
I have 32gb's of ram and windows 11 takes 12 gb's idle. Truly a microwosoft moment.
i have a friend who has one of the new macbooks, and he sent me a screenshot of his usage. his python envrionement was using 64 gigs of ram on its own
Hmm... I have a ton of browser tabs open, discord(+ watching a stream), an emulator running in the background
It's taking 12 gigs for me in Windows 11
So, not sure what's going on in your system chief
It's rounded up it may be using 11.5 or 11.6 gigs, I just had my browser with like 5 tabs open on when I checked it.
I doubt it because it's displaying as 12.8 for me, but even then it's not the point
If you're system is chugging 12 gigs on idle
You need to check what's going on
Because that's not windows's doing
stop installing cracked pr0n games
With wallpaper engine running/other hardware software + disc
yeesh. What process takes up all of that lmao
Couldn't tell you
I literally booted up my computer
Took that SS
processes tab doesn't giv you ordered list of process by ram usage?
Well I'm running GTFO now so it's gonna be disproportionate
oh yeah lmao
(I boot w/ Discord + Steam on startup)
Goddamn
Shit probably this, I forgot I even had WP engine on
I doubt it
As you can see Wallpaper Engine ain't even on the top of the list for me
It's like 2/10ths from the top
I have stuff like discord, WP engine, steam, OBS, and mod organizer 2 always on
Discord + Steam should take up a lot
Oh opera takes up a bunch of ram
I only have OBS active only when I'm streaming/recording
MO2 I stopped using long ago
OperaGX just use ram limiter
I just use it because I play modded stalker anomaly
I used to use it for Skyrim, now I use Vortex
Should be a panel in the browser
Settings maybe?
I just know it's a feature
I don't use OperaGX as my daily browser
I only used it twice and I admit it's nice
Its in GX control apparently
I have it set now as 1 gig
I dont do intensive browsing or whatever
I will increase it when I'm watching youtube or soemthing
How do I unsinstall all this razer shit? I installed it becuase I have a razer keyboard but I just discovered openrgb and when I uninstalled all the razer stuff it didnt completely wipe every tihng out
I still have random Razer processes going for some reason.
In Synapse there should be a Option to uninstall all of the unnecessary stuff Like cortex
If that doesn't work you can also see where the file location is for the process that's running, then kill the process and manually delete the files, you may have some left over files elsewhere on the system but if all you care about are the background processes then this will work
is a 750W power supply sufficient or should i spring for more
i have a 4070ti
should have mentioned that part
750w should be fine
i love pcpartpicker reviews
hey guys good news i can keep my 500W power supply!
Christ...
I hope you're memeing
@severe parcel
he forgot storage and a card....
i have both of those
he might be...
already
liar
i have a 4070ti and a 2tb ssd
perish
i like how both the sticker and the emoji are dead

pic or didnt happen
keep yourself safe
I'd get an AIO instead of that cooler
Rest is nice, didnt know B650 had that high of a price tag
any particular reason why?
From what ive Heard AIOs are Just an unnecessary Hustle for minimal improvements. Although i Never Had one so dont have any experiences with it
Easier access, easier cable routing, more clean (if you care about aestethics), and if you use push-and-pull with dual fans with mid-towers, IMHO the pull fan is gonna work wonkly due to the fan case being right behind it
Also easier to install, really, as along as you use the top
But I'll say that I've never had an AM5 and only AM4s so perhaps AM5s are easier to install air coolers on
Nah
AM5 just has conversion kits from AM4 coolers
So it’s actually more time consuming
But anyone with a brain and can read can install an AIO/cooler so it’s minimal difference
you overestimate my abilities with those two things
My cooler didn't need a conversation kit when switching over to am5, I think you only need one if your cooler didn't use the stock backplate on am4
Wouldn't it be nice to have a conversation with your cooler though?
autocorrect got me, lol
Early adopters had a shit ton of adapters
Also dependent on brand
I think my MSI cooler had a conversion kit, or you had to remove something for AM5 from AM4
some coolers do technically fit but the am5 chips are way deeper in the motherboard, like a good 6-7mm. I installed my AM4 aio on AM5 but it had forced clearance bolts which made it not actually press on the AM5 cpu and hover a couple mm above it. Scary af running at 95 deg all the time (and the internet cant help you there bc they run at that temp anyways due to PBO). Turns out it was throttling instead of PBO’ing and I had instability due to temps not due to the platform💀
until you constantly run it at maximum peak watts, and it blows
Anyone having this error whenever they try starting a game? Been trying to look for a fix but cant seem to find any that works
Might actually be your antivirus apparently
Gentlemen i need help comparing something my current setup its a laptop with a ryzen 5 5600h and a rtx 3050ti and i am planning to move to a deskptop after many years since i want more performance and i want to buy this combo from amazon that has a ryzen 5 5500 sadly there isnt anyone online giving more of a comparison from this 2 cpus but for the looks like they kinda similar but i would love to hear some more opinion of people more educated than me on this subject

tbf it is a weird question since I'm comparing a mobile chip vs a a full blown cpu
bd with a real pc, this is sensational 🙂 .. did u get a good gpu too?
Still thinking what to pair it with
Red team got good prices
Rz 6700xt
Or the 6800
Or ill waot till cyber monday or something and see if the prices drop
good luck with the discounts, hope u get a good one.. gonna be slightly different playing with a Rig instead of a Lap 🙂
Havent been on a rig for almost decade gonna be fun
@silent flume look at this shit
WTF is that thing even?
Just get an OCW external 4× sata drive cage, connects via usb-c. Fast enough, simple, easy.
granted there was very little room this case is comically small
this new case i have comes with drive cages
thank god
I have a secondary pc at my tv in a Fractal Edge. Just be creative. Order a bunch of short cables, 10-20-30-40cm long, tie wraps.
hey listen
thats my old case
im more or less building a completely new computer
and i will be neater with this one
i have more zip ties than i could every possibly need
Still,, its a good thing to do, less cable length means less cable mess.
you're probably right
but im too lazy to wait for more parts to ship in
also i move back into my dorm on friday and id really like to be done with this by then
big case will compensate for cable length
Dorm? Even more reason to get a tight pc. I move a lot, so smaller is better.
sfftime P-ATX or N-ATX, neat and tight.
Sliger Console
So a friend is having crashing on loading into missions. We had this last week, but updating to the lastest NVIDIA driver fixed it. We played Friday, and now today the crashing has resumed. We've tried reinstalling the game, checking for diver updates, validating files, but nothing seems to work it. Another of our group had the same problem, but the initial driver update fixed it and its stayed fixed.
turning off v-sync of all things fixed it... well okay hope that knowledge helps someone else
ha mine is faster cry about it
Is it possible to make keyboard recognized as a mouse input? For example making spacebar as left mouse click
If you have a major brand keyboard, they typically have software that can come with options to rebind a key.
Otherwise you can try AutoHotKey scripts, but that's a bit less user friendly to figure out
roundabout googling gave a decent example, you could use whichever functions are relevant for what you need when making an AHK script
Im thinking of replacing my i5 13400f 2500MHz, 10 cored 16 threads cus its seems like my cpu is kinda weak rn. can someone explain what the difference between these 2 cpus for me (tryna run a game called "the foreverwinter") cus from my standpoint it seems just the bigger GHz is better.
If you're just playing games anything x3d is great
They just put in more cache, and it may be underclocked compared to the non x3d variants but it does a lot for games
👍
Looking around google, autohotkey seems to be the way to go
i have no idea what underclocked and x3d is
but seeing as the 7 is slightly cheaper and more recent than the 5 ig maybe the 7 is a better choice?
not exactly
if you see the 5700x, it has the 3d at the end
They just made them a little different and that way it has better gaming performance
Even in some games with a 5800X3D, it still did better than Intel's best 12th generation CPUs
Cpu has something called "L3 cache", tldr the bigger the L3 the better for gaming. Amd cpu with x3d cache has BIG L3 cache, in turn better for gaming
yeah that's basically it lmao
Quick question my mobo can apparently only run at 5400MHz but my are only sells around 6000MHz are there any risk in mixing these?
for ram?
or like CPU maximum ram speed
which honestly idk about that, I think it's like the "safe" rating? I honestly don't know
I could be wrong about this, but I am pretty sure your motherboard is smart enough to lower the MHz down to something that it can work with
there has to be a way
there has to be a way without me paying 100 dollars for windows
you can buy product keys online for like $10
You can try using proton which you may want to look into
You can also install windows without a product key/license, you'll end up with a water mark and can't change your wallpaper but that's the only limitation
I'm 99% sure there was someone that used to play GTFO on Linux
As in, regularly
ye someone in scp secret lab server helped me set it up
so ye
it worked
thx for help
I was having a problem yesterday with my laptop
specs - i7 10750H, RTX 2060, 32 GB ram
I was getting barely 30 FPS locked even at low and same at medium settings
What could be the issue here cuz my specs should atleast give me 60fps at low
have you tried cpu culling workload low
Actually you can still change your wallpaper, it's literally just the watermark lmao
mild improvement
idk, it could be some issue with the new Nvidia app or a driver error
but like a month ago, my game was running absolutely fine
weird...
CPU and GPU both hovering around 60-65C
and the thing is
gg
GPU 95%, CPU 40-45%
could be a VRAM porblem ?
quite strange cuz when I play far cry 5, I get good 60fps
40-50 is far cry 6 at optimised medium
well this game is just badly optimized
unity things
we could also blame unity tbh
idk
hmmm, well, a 4050 outperforms a 2060 by a huge margin
4050 is better than a 2070 Super
TvT
I'll stick to battlebit ig....
and mechabellum
rip...
until I get my PC
remember to get a refund tho
the fun part is
this issue is quite recent
I have 60 hours in game
without any performance troubles
its VERY VERY recent, like, last night levels of recent
and I changed nothing
every other game runs fine except GTFO
hmmmm, check files ?
I am having that rubber ducky programmer effect
i think I had that problem before
but it was me undervolting my CPU unintentionally apparently
hmmmm
I am also undervolting my cpu
anyway, wish for fast release of the 5000 series
the upgrade is gonna hit like the sweet first sleep of vacation
For the record a 1060 6gb can run (at least could during R7 release) the game at stable 60s all low 1080p
so a 2060 doing as bad as 30 there's some issue 100%
but it runs real good on 4000 series tho
exactly
5000 release, 4000 is put on second hand market in a few months
;)
nah not for me
wait a second are you trying to run 4k resolution or anything?
Cause yeah that would explain 30 fps on a 2060
1080p
who would run 4k on a laptop sleepo
people who use a laptop connected to a 4k TV
I do have a second display that IS 4K but my ingame settings say I am running at 1080p monitor 1
I know some
I am using a graphic tablet as my second screen
I will just break my own neck instead of playing on a TV
lemme discornnect it and try running
if that's maybe the problem
a second display f'ing with my internal GPU buffer
Does ur computer have integrated graphics
you're thinking he plugged the cable in the iGPU slot of the MoBo?
it wouldn't explain the GPU actually doing some work
Idk my laptop has integrated graphics, and for some reason whenever I played GTFO it defaulted to running it off the integrated graphics
Had to sift through windows settings to tell it to use my GPU instead
ah right laptop
My PC also has integrated graphics but it seems to default to my GPU at least
@storm bramble just confirming, you have in fact set the frame rate in the game settings above 30 fps yes
yes
target fps is 120
Ok just making sure
and with the second display not connected and no undervolting
Fascinating
I am now getting 35-40 fps
GPU 99%, CPU 21%
Is this the first time you've installed the game?
CPU culling load at Large
Gpu 99%? Yeesh
no, I have played it for 60 hours without problems
first time facing this issue
Maybe a steam update got corrupted or something?
If you can't come up with anything else, try that
if this happening in R8E level
How sure are we that your GPU didn't just shit itself
it would be fine
every other game runs fine
only GTFO is shitting itself
I'll try that
This game is held together with Elmer's glue and a prayer
Maybe you accidentally deleted a png of a coconut from the game files
ig I broke the glue
I'll get back to you in about 10 minutes
with a fresh reinstall
and nvidia app turned off
cannot
it's a laptop
:)
then are you sure its not doing what happened to me?
what happened to you ?
oh
I have my laptop set to run off of only discrete GPU
and in the task manager I can see that it's hitting the 2060
fresh install aaand same problem
I am somehow getting lower FPS
wtaf
is R1A1 jsut bugged or is it something else ?
i think it may just not like you
