I can't recall seeing any benchmarks for a 1080p display of a 4090
All reviewers said it's pointless and you shouldn't even do it for 1080p
At least I can't think of them ever saying it was good for 1080p
It probably will stop stuttering if you get the 3440x1440p monitor connected and running
I'm probably looking at yours but I highly doubt it
" There is currently a bug with Windows 11 22H2 that causes games to activate debug mode alongside running the main game. This often causes stutters as a result. Hopefully MS will have a patch out on the 10th of January to address the issue"
If you are using Windows 11 I suppose, can't remember if you do
They exist
But yea it's pointless
I just have to make due till Monday
All I can find about 4090 stutters is just game optimization
I'm being bottlenecked at roughly 15% playing 1080p
If I play at 1440p I won't be
Especially ultrawide
So it really could be a game optimization problem, NVIDIA's software, or possibly Windows 11 problem
At least for stuttering
Even if you are experiencing stuttering, idk if getting your card bottlenecked cause the CPU is doing more work is really the cause I think
Aside from wait and see yeah
Considering that I'm upgrading to the 7950X3D, I'd be bottlenecked harder if I stayed at 1080p
I mean, maybe the extra 3d cache might actually improve it lmao
but yeah soon as you get out of 1080p you'll probably stop seeing it
I'll also just put this here in case you may use it later on to help https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/4090-fps-dips-stutters.3783376/
I've just finished building a system with a 4090 and the performance is incredible but there seems to be only one issue i've noticed and that is micro stutters/fps dips.
it's very noticeable in Overwatch 2 and i can see it in league of legends.
i have 2 systems which i will post the specs...
Only thing I can say about it tho is that it's already months ago so it could be fixed
@fleet canopy I just found an interest article: https://community.openmr.com/t/rtx-4090-stuttering-problems-solved/39671
Turns out the issue is Afterburner. It doesn’t have to be running, it’s the afterburner monitoring windows service. Issue resolved with numerous people just by uninstalling afterburner entirely and rebooting. I’m sure it will receive an update to resolve. But for now this is the way.
Afterburner??? I might try uninstalling and see if that helps
I was planning to OC but oh well I rather have no stuttering
Rip it didn’t fix it
If I remember correctly, the main guy working on MSI afterburner has some issues because he's russian
MSI couldn't pay him for a long time, and he had issues actually receiving GPUs
And the guy can't work on it without being paid
IDK when's the situation going to be fixed
No not that
I think my 4090 has stuttering issues since it's displaying 4k output but downgrading it to 1080p conversion
Hopefully a better monitor leaves me no stutter
If it's doing for 4k, then just downgrade it to make it render true 1080p
if I had a 4090 and a 1080p monitor I'd use 4x DSR or DLDSR often, superior anti aliasing, and most likely the GPU wasn't anywhere near 100% utilized before anyway
considering a 7900xt caps this shit with room to spare at 2-3k, something is definitely wrong with his setup.
deep 1% lows at 100+ fps is very worrying.
Yea
Latest version of Windows 11 Pro
See, all you guys are saying is what I was thinking
I know the 4090 is a waste on 1080p but it should have exceptional frames and shit etc
I have absolutely no idea what’s going on
yeah maybe windows 11 problem
I mean, I do have high fps it’s just hella stuttering
Windows is known to be pretty fucking shit with certain stuff relating to gaming
maybe you could attempt reverting to win 10
Oh :p
windows moment
Windows 11 is absolutely terrible for a lot of things, I think reverting to Windows 10 would offer more functionality and stability for most people.
I don't know about you, but it takes me about an hour to install most things I need on a Windows system. You can use https://ninite.com to procure most applications semi-autonomously.
The easiest, fastest way to update or install software. Ninite downloads and installs programs automatically in the background.
yeah windows 10 just has a much more mature software support I suppose
Windows 11 is just not it, whether it be function or the form
Can't believe they made a pos OS that does fuckall at being an accessible easy to use OS and more like some mind numbing poorly developed UI for a program
holy shit this
Win11 supposed to make things more accessible? total bullshit
we all live in the inbred siblings of Windows 8
"Windows 10 will be the last, after that, it will only be incremental updates"
fucking 5 years and they gave up
The fact that W10's EOL is slowly closing in
GTA 5 holds stronger than fucking Microsoft
2 more years :copium:

Look how low the GPU and Memory clocks are
^ That's just fast flicking
Reseated GPU and RAM
IM SO DUMB GUYS
I FIXED IT
@fleet canopy @formal plume @twilit crow @bright shard I just had to decrease the polling rate of my mouse from 8000 Hz to 1000 Hz
I have no idea why it impacts performance that hard
7900x is still a respectable CPU
2000 Hz runs smooth
4000 Hz brings it down to a min of 40 FPS
Im curious if the mouse's software has high CPU usage when it's set to 8000
NVM you showed the CPU usage earlier, super odd
Yea I have no idea
What the actual....?!
I know right
It was literally just dropping the polling rate
Which shouldnt even be a GPU thing but moreof a CPU thing
Right. That's my mission today then. Ffs.
Maybe when I upgrade to the 7950X3D I'll be able to run 8000 Hz
Polling rate is not something I'm well researched on, not had the need to, untill right now. What is it?
The latency of your mouse, basically
Higher the polling rate, the less "latency" you have on your mouse, aka responsiveness
I just researched it too, exactly what I found.
8000hz though.... 🤭
According to Corsair though you need at least an AMD Ryzen 7 (2nd Gen) in order to run 8000 Hz
So that just leaves me to believe that the games I'm currently playing just simply don't support it
And it can't register
I wonder how it'd work in Linux....

I'll get back to you guys on that! 😉👍
My old laptop is the only one I dual-booted
Don't have an extra drive on my PC to dual boot
Unless I remove both ~75 gb games from my 860 Evo
Oof. So I am looking into a Portable Windows 7 and 10 installation on an SD card atm.
Thinking one day I might actually need to use that hunk of junk.
I suppose I’ll have to test 8000 Hz tomorrow then, when my 240 Hz OLED monitor comes in
Just need to find a game where it supports it too
So I checked my polling rate, it's set to 1000mhz so I think i'm good 😄
My mouse doesn't support anything over, but it's smooth enough for my personal liking.
i can do 1500 but i dont like that when i drag a window over in windows 10 it sticks to the monitor border so strongly.
I got the Logi g305, stick some Li-Ion AA batteries in there and you're golden 👌
ancient land-before-time logitech g502
with most of the rubber texture worn away by the stains of time
Ignore the 'earpod' bullcrap. I use these at work to get into nooks and crannies including charging ports, speakers, microphones and getting grit out of mice.
i dont know why you specifically linked this to me
Use a bit of IPA/ISO-100 with it though
however i like it, so i've wishlisted it for when the next time my carts at free shipping
although my IEMs dont really get dirty
Fair enough, I am considering getting another, one OTG and another for home.
Check videos about that
I am borderline obsessed with maintenance.
Frankly any more than 1000hz is pointless and just asks for waaaaay too much info for what's not really a great bonus as it tanks perf like insane
2000hz surely okay but overall just don't need to have more than 1000
Yeah but the higher poll rate, the more it updates in a second
And 8000 is absurd
4000 as well
i am a decrepit old man, my flesh is becoming dust, my movement does not vary so delicately to need greater than 1khz
:p
Wouldn't matter really, no PC can realistically do well above 2000
Plus no cpu today I believe can do 8k poll without taking a fucking fat shit on your performance
And it'll probably be many more years later
Well maybe I'm wrong on CPU not being good enough yet
But here

So pretty much it might just be that GTFO just has no support for 8k
It's really just the minimum everyone should have anyway
It's also just what almost every mice runs today
non gaming mice get set to 500, which is what the win10 UI is tested around.
which brings up weird UI quirks the higher you go
I never had a problem at all using 1000 during my windows usage
ive noticed some features in windows react increasingly faster at a higher polling
but nothing that i would identify as a problem
just lots of, "oh, thats kind of weird"
youll notice it if you swap between a work PC and a PC with a gaming mouse a lot.
Hey there everyone. The wonderful Professor Scaler sent me this way, and I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to help me.
I am a content creator, and have been working on making some GTFO videos. I use OBS and Audacity. I play on 1440p, with Geforce optimized settings.
Specs:
3070
5800X
16GB Ram
I am having an issue with recording the game, sadly.
In game, it runs totally fine. Solid frames, no dips or stutters, etc It runs flawlessly, but when I go check the recordings, there are several several times it's like it all stops working. The video will freeze, my Audacity audio will drop, but I can still hear the game audio. After about 2-5 minutes, everything will be back to normal and I can edit actual working video again. I'd say at least 60% of footage and audio is totally unusable.
Audacity mentions CPU usage, but other than that, I have no idea why it would be doing this.
I've recorded tons of games and never had this issue before, IE Tarkov, Hell Let Loose, Ready or Not, etc
If anyone has any suggestions, do let me know. Only thing I've tried is to turn down the CPU usage setting to "Small".
Professor Scaler said he uses an older PC with a 1070 to record, and never has any issues with it, which I thought was strange.
Thank you!
Is your footage drive the same as your os drive. What type of drive is it?
Now that you say this, it's saving to an external HDD. Could be the issue? Like I said though, hasn't happened to any other games so far.
Can you crystaldiskmark it for me?
I don't think it's particularly the problem, i was more concerned with it being your OS drive.
I am away from my main PC atm, but I could try that program in an hour or so. Never used it before though, just fyi.
It is greatest of idiots proof
Also i hope you are not using flv
Use mkv probably
No, not using flv lol mkv is what I am using I think
MP4 actually now that I think about it.
I - unfortunately have nothing to contribute to this at the moment. Once you run CrystalDisk. Please show us the results. If it turns out the bandwidth is too low then you'd either be looking at a replacement cable and or drive.
Aside from that I could only suggest reinstalling affected applications along with all of their dependencies, right after you use Bleachbit in-between installations.
Of course, sorry I was not able to get the results yet. Something came up at work so I wasn't able to go do the test.
Oh. Whilst it's on my mind, to test the cable bandwidth, transfer a 3gb file to and from the HDD and look at the transfer speeds, then cross-reference that with the bandwidth your recordings use, cross-check that with your CrystalDisk results.
Is this what you guys need, or is more required? @twilit crow @bright shard
Have you tried using shadow play to see if you have the same issue?
Not saying you should switch but it would help narrow down a hardware or software problem
thats crystaldiskinfo, you want crystaldiskmark
same guys, different tool.
I've not tried that yet, but definitely will.
wait, is that a 8tb drive?
you need to run 16gb test
from what i can tell, this is an SMR drive, write performance will eventually crater unless the writing gets cached to memory when the drive cant keep up.
So basically, the writing is slowly started to not be able to keep up with the recording?
running 16GiB now btw
thats what i think is happening, and will occur more on a populated drive, because SMR dictates you must rewrite adjacent rows when writing
Here's the 16gb test.
Any idea as to why it only happens with GTFO so far? I guess I could always just record to my main SSD and then move the files over?
hmm......
i'd rather you not record to the ssd so you dont wear it out
@delicate dome are you on windows 10, and what version of OBS are you using.
Win 11, OBS ver. 29.0.0
You are also correct btw, it is an SMR drive. Had no idea about that sort of thing until you mentioned it.
you might want to try increasing OBSs process priority
Will do will do
i need some help
why cant i screen shot with the xbox game bar
is it bc of the win 11 update?
i try to uninstall and reinstall that but it still not work
@clear gazelle If you’re going to just screenshot then just use Windows Snip. Keyboard shortcut is Windows + Shift + S keys
^^^
If you do want the entire display, print screen does that quickly
Not the most consistent for me tho
i find the chords of printscreen work better
but if im capturing a game, i'll use my steam keybind
whats a good recommendation for a GPU these days?
I use my PC every day for gamming things like GTFO Elite Dangerous league and I play VR fairly often as well (the most intense game for VR I can think of is Green Hell).
I have a widescreen and normal monitor as well I use and though I currently have a 2080 it seems to not be keeping up with VR at least anymore so im hard wondering if getting something new isnt a bad idea
Try a 3070 @ivory notch
If you have a widescreen anything above 3070 is fine
Can handle VR too
Elite Dangerous isn't too graphics heavy (compared to other games)
i figured as much. so anything over a 3070 you would say would keep up with anything I could throw at it? or would you say a 3070 is kinda best right now?
3070 budget wise
3080/3090 if you can afford it and/or can find one
Top of the line right now is the 4090
Doubt you'll be able to find an 7900 XTX right now
I heard 4090s arent really worth it
Out of stock and would wait until AMD fixes their batches
If you buy it from a scalper, then no
If you have the money and it's in stock, then yea
XD thats never worth it true
is it possible my 2080 is just getting a bit hot? I mean it should be still good to run most things right?
I just dont understand why y VR studders now and I heard the fans spin up the other day...
Honestly the 4090 scalped prices aren't so bad
I can find a lot of them for 2000$, which is faaaaar better than 2300-3000$ lol
Only an extra 400$, which tbf if you're spending for a 4090 build and it'd be like 3.5-4K for the PC, yeah I don't really see too much of a problem with an extra 400$ I guess
I paid less than $2k USD for mine, with tax included
Paid $1.9k
Not a lot, but still better than scalped
Only about 100$ saved, but hey that's still 100$
true
I would’ve paid $1.8k if I shipped my parts elsewhere
So my ballpark would’ve been $1.7-1.8
Only feasible option it looks to me is a 4090 from nvidia's shop or maybe the closest (45-60 minute) microcenter has a 4090
Which honestly would be low chance for microcenter cause I live in the US
Seems nvidia just has a link to best buy having 1600$ which lol out of stock
i mean good deals always go out of stock especially with best buy
an AIB 7900xtx/xt or 4080 would be my best bet for at MSRP
otherwise stalk buildapcsales for amd 6000 sales.
good to know 🙂
as long as its not the AMD style cooler.
as a lot of the cards are just resold by AIBs
is there anything I can do while looking for a good price on something for my current GPU? like its still a 2080 so i feel like it should still be good.
bump the power target?
or is it just getting warn out cause I use it so much?
Everything that was 1600$ has been out of stock day 1
Bestbuy can burn in the fire of hell for pc tech
all local stores sold out
fucking useless store
But yeah
also fuck staples for selling garbage office chairs
I've never once heard of a 1600$ 4090 for a while
it would be just a lot of effort to go to microcenter which the chances are pretty slim if I say so myself cause it's probably been bought and is now being scalped somewhere
So the best option realistically for what I am is online
And that'd be 2000$ I guess
i dont want to drive 3-4 hours to go to microcenter
any possible deal i can get is consumed by gas
The 4090s that do get low like ebay, 1830$ for one is on bid
So that'd probably be outbought
There is a buy it now for 1860$
buying from scalpers
but honestly I don't trust ebay enough to spend my money for tech there lol
yeah
would be same for those 2000$ 4090s I guess
Unless it's not a resell and just asshole company
Microcenter is like a few states away which fuck that honestly
Probably cheaper to go with Gamers Nexus' route
Go somewhere in asia and spend money on 4090 ther
e
yeah
for free too
its only borrowing if they know you take it
Yall got any recommendations for the Contrast and gamma and stuff for the nvidia control panel? Default is awful and HDR makes screenshots and stuff horrible
alternatively google "{monitor identifier} settings"
that helped a lot, still not quite as good as i want it but its more than enough, thank you so much!
Monstrosity
This panel hides my old one behind it
This will have to do
Man that would not sit right for me lol
It's just annoying when you realize you're not actually looking at it center
I sit directly in the middle
So it's immersive and doesn't bother my OCD
It's mostly the keyboard placement with the monitor and then the fact that the desk has limited space for you and your chair
I've got sort of the same thing, it's kind of annoying just moving the monitor every time instead of just keyboard + mousepad which would be so much easier for me
I do have a new table but it's gotta get something fit in it first before I can really set it up there instead
I'm gonna get my own space and then it'll be cleaner
The bottom company naming in the bottom of monitor makes me notice it not centered which is kind of annoying imo
I do wish it didn't have a side tilt tho lol
I can't tell whether it's a 0 degree orientation or if it's slightly off
Pretty nice monitor tho, which one was it?
Preorder the New 45'' UltraGear™ OLED Curved Gaming Monitor (45GR95QE-B) on LG.com. Gain a Competitive Advantage with a 240Hz Refresh Rate & 0.3ms Response Time.
It's 0.03ms
For sure, tested
It's a typo lol
But clearly it's gotta be 0.03
And idk if it really is 0.3
Honestly still seems like an out of the world number that's not quite there yet
Yea seems unreal
that's just the power of gamers
for all we know the results could've been between 2-6ms with a once in blue moon value of 0.3ms being recorded
technically the monitor did it so lets slap it on the box
independent testing should be the only values worth looking at
I've checked other OLED TVs and generally they go about 1-1.5ms, so as close as it is to true 1ms
And that's with gtg testing
So I would say it's fair to expect them to at least just all do average of 1ms
yeah OLED don't go that high typically, was just an extreme example for monitors in general that the box value isn't to be trusted
with OLED's response times shouldn't be of concern, then you're just fighting to avoid burn in to make the display last
Yeah
QD OLED really does seem like a great solution to solving the short time to burn in
Would be great if they're gonna last close to 10 years
Yeah that'll just transfer to smaller displays eventually
Eventually being like next year or some shit
💀
yeah that's not really bad
Twenny giggle bites
Ooo
poddy send me a 4090
glad i fucking got an AIB cooler, it would have sucked ass to have weird thermals.
Getting this issue with Airpods on PC...
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/airpods-not-working-in-stereo-mode-hands-free/34146ed6-814c-4804-a4db-3ca98282f73a
can't use mic when playing GTFO
bane of all bluetooth everywhere.. high quality sound and mic usage does not mix, unless highly sophisticated proprietary drivers and protocols in use
even disabling mic on a bluetooth headset, enjoying pristine hifi sound on a game and mic'ing with another device, out of the blue windows decides "it's time to test your bluetooth mic" and bt-mode change, no changing back without quitting game. infuriating.
I used to use AirPods, I just wouldn’t recommend it at all. Yes, my mic work. How did I sound? “You sound like you’re muffled as shit bro. Like you’re underwater.”
Just don’t use AirPods
Anybody know why my frame rate drops from 100 to 60 when loading a bunch of things in, specifically when triggering alarms? I have an RTX 3070ti, core i9, and LPDDR5 (4800 MHz), yet there are times when the frame rate tanks.
Your memory is dog slow. Like the slowest that ddr5 comes.
Like, they physically cannot run slower
Like, do you have a laptop?
If it's a laptop, you're kind of outta luck
However if it's a PC, invest in something like DDR5-6000Mhz at CAS32
That seems to be the average good baseline speed but I also may be putting in an insane speed one and could get slightly slower speeds that do just as well but yeah
Just got a new keyboard and graphics card. Stoked af
oh my god
im going to snap
when i start gtfo the game goes for about 2 frames then stops. i still hear sounds, i can still interact with the game, i just see the screen frozen on one frame. alt tabbing out and back in gets me another frame then it freezes again. I. HAVE. TRIED. EVERYTHING. AND. LOOKED. EVERYWHERE. NOTHING. WORKS. when i alt f4 the game reports it's average framerate like my other games and it usually sayd like 90 fps. Man, if only i could SEE IT.
USUALLY, if i use windowed mode the game starts working, i guess my computer just doesnt like fullscreen. BUT GTFO JUST DOES NOT CARE
Loll
It's in my gpu box

picking up where someone left off on your setup is hard
I have this channel and two SE friends to help me
maybe try verifying integrity or reinstalling?
i did
they look like AIO block mounters
the stuff in the background did come with my aio iirc
i got a nzxt aio and a nzxt case
i got like almost all corsairp
tldr, my friend with some pc experience insisted in helping me out because my tech knowledge is from like a week of looking at youtube vids
when he said he was rusty, i felt that when i was doing the case myself
just lookout for air circulation when getting your case
and space for cables
i have a corsair 4000x and its really nice
when i was working on it for a few hours, i was like, does this cable from my aio go to my motherboard that has the aio pins on it, or do i plug it in a usb2 port on bottom of mobo
then life and work happened, and its been put aside
aio, cable management, psu, that one standoff i found today, like main prios once i get the time
got it thanks man

nod nod
They were typing me with an account I never spoke to before

and was probably a hacked account that went through the user list.
Meaning: everyone is sooner or later affected, because sooner or later someone is somewhere on a server or has someone in their friendslist. It spreads easily.
Also, again, majority of the people here will be safe because they won't buy into it. But it's good to be reminded once in a while to educate others, especially to tell younger peopole and the elderly to be careful on the internet.
Sweetiecoin? Now I definitely want that

Damn, lame shit

heard that msi afterburner causes shuttering, is it fixed or nah?
Never experienced it with my afterburner
Then again I use it just to display temp and usage so I can't say for the other features like OC
Afterburner lost support
devs stopped being paid because of political stuff
in Russia
so that software is going to fade into the depths
If I replace my 2080 with a say 3090 will my 850 power supply still keep up with that?
does anyone care to help me out and give their opinion on these 3 options as to which one they think is best?
https://www.newegg.com/pny-geforce-rtx-3090-vcg309024tfxppb/p/N82E16814133807?Item=9SIAN7CJSE9969
I will also accept someone saying all 3 suck and giving a different recommendation
Not sure if you were intending on getting a 3060 in the first link :p
IDK ha ha I mean its more just me wondering if the others are worth spending more on i guess?
the 3090 honestly seems best of the 3 um but im no expert so I thought i would ask others to see if I was missing something
Ah ok
3080 Ti being 140$ more than the 3090 indeed
And that 3080 ti is also on a sale
What a deal
Well what monitor resolution and refresh rate are you looking to do @ivory notch
Im looking acctually for a better VR experiance more than anything. My GPU is starting to get a bit warn down and its showing mostly in the VR department.
my monitor is a widescreen though with a 200hz refresh rate and is 2560x1080
well it doesn't really seem like you need a 3090 I suppose, only optional, a 3080/Ti would be a good choice
Tho none of the 3080 Ti seems to have a price cheaper than the 3090 you listed
Least for newegg
I just noticed it but I think thats cause its used acctually. I think the normal price for that 3090 is much higher
well maybe cause it's a ti ig idk honestly
Just go for the cheaper one lol
Which would just be a 3090 at this point
cool thanks for the help
ok one last question. I know it might be a bit "overkill" but for less than $100 more I can get this 4070TI thats New rather than Used Like New
would that be better?
https://www.newegg.com/zotac-geforce-rtx-4070-ti-zt-d40710j-10p/p/N82E16814500546?Item=N82E16814500546
^^^
The bit bus on the 3080 Ti/3090 is much more
40 series is shitty unless you have money to burn for a 4090
Used to be a 4080 12GB claimed to only have 4GB less or 8GB less idk
But it wasn't just the VRAM, it was a lot of the specs that they changed
And yeah 4090 is the only good card in the entire lineup of the RTX 4000 series cards unfortunately
ok thats a fair point and very good to know. 40s are off the list XD
thats sad but really good to know while Im shopping around
If you wanted any of the special RTX features, AMD probably wouldn't be too much of an option, but you could look into a 6900XT
would I have any worries that it wouldnt work with my system? im not building from scratch this time. I dont imagine it would be a problem though right?
I mean bottlenecks can happen
He was looking into a 3080 Ti/3090 so I mean the 6900XT is sort of an equivalent
Mostly equivalent to a 3080 Ti
Newegg doesn't seem to sell them cheaper than listed 3090
Only cause I can't find the used filter for some reason
yeah but its a good price especially sense its new from what im seeing here. 670 for what I see here
For the 6900XT?
Out of stock is just out of stock
it might as well be like that forever idk honestly
Amazon has it at like 700$ for an MSI 6900xt
compared to 3090 idk
I'd still go 3090 since it's only 70$ extra for newegg
It is for a new 6900XT tho
the problem with shopping PC parts am I right? XD
I mean that 3090 should still be good even if its used right? normal price is like $1900 vs the $770 i would get it for used
The people who are selling the 3090 for anything close to 1400$ or more are just stupid
I wouldn't spend more than like 600-700$ just cause the new gen cards just outright do the same, or somewhere in the same range (the disease known as 4070 Ti) for similar pricing (ignoring the overpriced fire of hell)
yeah thats a good point. no reason to worry about it being used either right? I mean its a massive upgrade from the 8GP ram my current one has alone
Anybody know why my NVIDIA FPS display won’t show on games?
Do you have it enabled in settings?
yes
Are you pressing the right keybinds? Perhaps you changed them?
Should be ALT + R
Default
What is the best pre built money can buy (asking for a challenge)
a boot to the head - 75 USD on sale
still doesn't work
what information do you need?
As much as can be provided.
Full system specs including the operating system, service pack and a DXDiag would not hurt to start off with.
Make sure all game files are verified too via steam.
A rough overview of what you're using, any launch commands you might be running with GTFO. If it is vanilla or modded etc.
hmm, you've made sure your graphics drivers are up to date?
I don’t mean to be rude, but when I say I’ve tried everything I could think of outside of opening this thing up, I meant it
when you say this "USUALLY, if i use windowed mode the game starts working, i guess my computer just doesnt like fullscreen. BUT GTFO JUST DOES NOT CARE" do you mean for all games or just gtfo?
This is important^ because if it happens for other games its an issue with your system, if it's only gtfo then its an issue with the game itself
90% of my games don’t like full screen and if I use windowed mode they work again but gtfo still refuses to work regardless
What’s really weird is earlier today I tried to open it just to see what would happen and it actually worked and I was able to play a game with my friend. I don’t know why it decided to work now but it did even though I literally did not change anything at all. Also the fps meter was innacurate because it said ~20 fps but it felt more like 60
what video card are you running if you don't mind me asking?
Video card meaning gpu?
yeah
gtx 1660 ti
Had an issue very similar to this with my 1060 and, I fixed it by messing with the scaling and resolution in the nvidia settings.
good luck!
I bought a gaming PC and it has less storage then my ps4 💀
how tf I get more space in this thing
I'm honestly brain dead when it comes to PCs
you kick it until it says more storage because it's a naughty computer
Any lads here whos excellent at microscopic hardware fixing who can give me tips on how to tackle this issue? i sent it to a repair shop and they said its 50 50 fixable but ive seen LTT and other people have worse and managed to get it back and running
Be very, very careful
sent it into the repair shop
At that extreme angle it can easily snap because of how brittle it is
Not really brittle
i managed to only do these ones tho my self
Since metal is malleable but at that angle it’s weak
Oh jeez
right side i managed to somehow bend them back in place with just pure knife and flashlight
the repair shop promised to re-solder if it breaks but they cant guarantee if it will work or destroy my future parts
ive seen LTT and De8auer resolder it and it works for them
If the repair shop is any good they should be able to resolder it well enough (if it comes to that)
yeah they are high rated and said they have fixed all of bent pins but never had this challenge before
even the offer they sent me i should "reconsider buying a new"
but the point is i was selling my shit to save money
lmao i was legit cleaning it and my finger slipped and now im losing my shit i cant sleep or eat
i decided to gamble my luck by doing 70 bucks for repair even if they fail i basically lose no money or aprox 10 bucks or so
like broken ones sell for 60 bucks either way or more max 70 tho
If they do it right
they explained they have microscope and high precision tweazers
but they dont use hot air :/
ive heard hot air is important key for them to be "more bendy and less breaky" but the guy said no they dont do that they do pure bending with tweazers
Yea
Idk
I’d use hot air and a razor blade
Tweazers without hot air could make the pins snap
;(
Razors without hot air is doable but must be taken very slow
Kinda surprising they don't have something to generate hot air
same if they have soldering kit lol
like hot air is the number one tool to have if ur a repairman
even the school i used to go for hardware n shit had that shit in shed
Hair dryer
but then again were talking about my country which is doo doo and has really poor experts and this was only one left
ill legit bring them my hair dryer
roventa 10000
Become your own repair shop and dominate them all
but yeah he said 50 50 it breaks but idk how much u guys say
i almost broke down in call with them i was asking them to be very gentle and put all of their strength in it i felt my legs wanting to die off and falling off when i asked is my case similar to what they had before and they said its worse
pro tip: dont buy NZXT kraken AIOs because apperently their shitty liquid evaporates within 4 yrs which is main cause of this
Air cooling superiority indeed
now im getting flashes of what can happen when they are testing out the mobo with my cpu i gave them and the ram
it will fry my perfectly working 9900k
😭
ram is also around 500 usd mark
I’ve never really liked NZXT
Always went Corsair
i only went for it because pump control n shit
Though rn I went MSI
i really dont like PWM controlled bios pump
my only option is arctic freezer
idk which aio to go for next that is 280mm and offers software pump control
also how does liquid even evaporate if its closed loop, i admit i mounted it wrong way sorta the pump was lower than the tank itself when it was supposed to be lowered BUT i didnt know shit about it so rip
water will migrate out of the loop through the tubing.
either through the plastic itself or through micro holes.
didnt notice any dropplets or heard it leak
all i noticed was gradual temp increase down the yrs so this yr i noticed most of issues but i thought it was just my pc being goofy
my BF said I had a micro hole
if they dont have any actual leaks they lose about .02 ml per year
you wont hear it leak in any case
any leaks probably evaporate faster than they can build up
so youd never see them anyway unless catastrophic
Hey so I just got a new 3090 to replace my old 2080 but now the thing is loud. Like non stop booted fans and I don't get it... it's only don't it with my VR games but my old 2080 never did that so now I'm wondering if that's normal or what?
ok, did you check temps?
Honestly idk how
install MSI afterburner
make sure you get it off the actual MSI website
Ok good to know. Still seems weird that my 2 year old card was quiter than my new card but hey maybe it's broken 😕 🤔
It most definitely is not the malware ad site
there can be a variety of issues with cards out of the box
for people that show up in here
I mean thats been a big issue lately
since a company can just pay Google tons of money to be on the top result
I got the MSI afterburner and temps seem to reach 70c and just before it even gets there the 3 fan ramp up to 100% dropping it to lke 60c while never slowing down.
they are very loud and it seems to me like its overkill?
70c is alright imo
80c is kinda concerning especially when it's not really a high end GPU, for example my 2070 Super
Unfortunately that goes 80-85c in gaming tho
so llo
Personal recommendation is run furmark for 2 minutes, start lowering fan speed from 100% until you hit 70c, then base your msi afterburner fan curve off that @ivory notch
If youre over 70c from the start, there's not much you can do other than improve your case airflow
well ill have to look into that. thankfully I have fans in the mail
Ironically enough
I originally bought a 3080
but they sent a ti instead
saved money instead
More like a better deal
Unless the prices for them are acceptable ish
But hey, only one off of a 3090
I use the Arctic freezer and tbh I 100% love it. I'm not all for the lack of control but the fact is 'it just works' makes it hassle free.
Im a dual tower kinda guy
ok I am at a loss again. I have no idea why my fans keep spinning up randomly for 2 sec every like 5 seconds.
the temps reach maybe 71c and then everything gets loud even though im using MSI afterburner to lower the speed so it doesnt do it so often
and it only seems to do this for SOME VR games
now ive got it running at a consistent 68c and it still wants to be loud as hell
friggin weird
Windows
hey guys so i just got a pc and im told by a friend thats into pcs it was a real nice deal and wanted to start learning more about pc building and just overall more about pc and pc parts so i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on where to start?

cause the issue with the LTT video is that it is too good
yeah the 40 minutes less and more straight forward approach can help in that way
the LTT one just dumps lots of information on you, while it is useful, can be daunting for a first time
im down for alot of information ill just rewatch them if i miss some information
I really like the video where Linus has the GoPro on his head so you see everything in his perspective
alright y'all, I'm in the market for a new pair of headphones, mine are no longer functioning properly and the sound likes to cut out entirely whenever the port gets slightly touched. What recommendations do you all have for headphones/headsets? (I've got a standalone mic so there is no need for an included one)
the absolute chad going "fine, I'll do it myself" when no one else had made an audio chart library
crin truly deserves any praise he gets.
in a sea of bullshit amazon referral reviews, he gives the goods.
and his recent purchase of $20k audio equipment to make more precise measurements
and updating the whole catalogue
I forgot if it was all
using his list, not only did i get a baller IEM for below 100$, its also been the longest lasting, and best sounding
every other one has either literally fallen apart or the cable wore out
i hated IEMs before i perused his list
yeah it is easy to get shitty IEMs but once getting the KBear KS2s they were exactly what I wanted out of earbuds
except Stalnotes Zero now holds the crown
Seinheisser have been my go to for headphones. I’ve had one pair of 598cs that have lasted me for like 7 years at this point. They’re tough as shit and sound amazing.
Sennheiser are bloody 🔥🔥🔥
Only set I'll use until there are higher quality products on the market
@fleet canopy
Sounds like some lawnmower/chainsaw running in someone else's backyard
LOL yeah
and it's constant
squeaky clean after tho
Yeah pretty neat
NSFW Gpu pics 🤨
Is it NSFW because you can see my finger in the reflection from the GPU on clean image?
Yes
Not really that hard
You just unscrew part of the back of card, and then gotta unplug a couple cables you can get to on the sides
I put a waterblock on my 3070 it was pretty easy
You just pull it apart once all that's done
I had to refer to some guy not speaking english on taking it apart
The thermal pads I did nothing with
I did try taking off parts of the dust here and there but eh
Wasn't really the issue
doesn't seem too bad then but i feel like i'd still overstress the entire time
Please tell me that is thermal paste and not liquid metal.
I don't think I've seen liquid metal that white before
It's thermal paste. Liquid metal is always shiny and should never be on anything except the gpu dye.
It is thermal paste
It just became dry as fuck
Used mx-4 for thermal paste
I don't think aib partners do liquid metal honestly?
Liquid Metal is bad for GPUs due to the risk involved and the nature of the cooling. It's essentially significantly more risk but marginal results.
It looks like it's barely on there and it shined like liquid metal 😛
Ah :p
You can see the writing on the GPU, kinda surprised you thought it was liquid metal :p
Although yeah, there's no shine at all on the copper plate.
Now the next thing I have left to do is my CPU
I use it on my CPU and it's ❄️
I use electrical tape to cover the surroundings if you're thinking of doing that though.
Nah not really :p
you scared them out of liquid metal and now you're trying to flex it?
Maybe someday much much later
Nah not really scared of it
Just more like it's liquid metal
A bit more work to be careful than paste or a graphite pad thing
whatever the pad thing was I forgor
yeah need to be careful around it but definitely don't need it unless doing OC
yeah not really an OC guy myself
Graphite pads i've heard are proper solid material and are reusable.
Most I would do is doing the RAM and probably the card since that'd be significant
Yeah I saw someone said it was pretty much a good equivalent of using a good thermal paste and it would last pretty long
Pretty much yeah. I'll favour liquid metal at the moment with the summer around the corner, my environment gets very hot 😓
Even with liquid cooling but the graphite pads are a solid all-rounder, especially for durability.
If you dont lm proof the gpu surroundings with a coating, you deserve any suffering
Theres a whole process, relying on a steady hand and perfect application is lunacy
Your cooler also must be compatible
Lm is a cool solvent though
Ok thanks
I will now use an all aluminum cooler and a liquid metal cooling solution
I’m running a graphite pad, highly recommend
Didn’t want to use paste and just have a tube with nowhere to place it
Good for no mess applications
Interesting. I built my PC like last week and went with just a bunch of fans myself. I’m not unhappy with that granted. Though water stuff seems interesting
Fans don't go anywhere, They will just spin with very low rpm's if you have enough radiator surface area 🤌
i found a deal on a 4070 Ti gpu. Dont know whos trying to buy one but I'll post it anyway
well its 800 bucks.. kinda of a deal right?
Inflation and price gauging at its finest
You won't find a better deal in the current market
Market's shit and tech companies just want all the profit
There's really nothing you can do
Probably will never revert back to the good old days
It's just how it'll be
I'd recommend just taking a look at the rtx 3000 series instead
They should be in a nice price in the used section

Don’t buy used GPUs! A warning we’ve heard far too many times. But does mining actually harm your GPU? We think not. So we tested 19 different used GPUs fr...
Should show you it shouldn't be bad getting some used card off a miner
If you want a brand new card, you're going to have to suck up the price since it's just how money works
You'll be more flexible if you buy a used GPU
Ultimately depends on what you want, but you won't be able to do anything about next gen prices
Yeah, but you can find fairly good prices from used miners I suppose
It is kinda rng of course but it probably isn't really a high chance of a scam/false description
Just drop into the complex and steal an RTX 4090, they're everywhere
They're more like 8090s
Maybe I'd be able to get more than 40FPS in garden tileset with one of those
I thought people didn't buy them because the thermal pads were totally fucked
You mean go to R7D2 mainframe room and grab some GPUs? Ok
Well if the thermal pads are fucked, you can replace them
I can understand many don't want to buy cause lol they have no experience and don't wanna bother
But if you can do it, it's really not even an issue
my main concerns are both that there's no warranty, and the VRAM could be fucked
You really aren't gonna get a warranty unless you pay for some overpriced card from the manufacturer which is kind of ehh
Unless it's like you want to pay for a 4090 which good luck with that since I'm pretty sure a lot of people still wanna grab one so it's either be lucky for 1600$ or pay a 2000$ price anywhere else
For the lower tiers, absolutely nothing even seem worth paying for except some last gen cards
And the last gen is ofc all used
If you can get used 3070+ series in the sub 150 usd range, that would be a buy for me.
Ebay is slim pickings
thermal pads are completely replaceable though
Yeah but he also says about VRAM
which idk
does mining really use VRAM
Shouldn't really be more than the GPU itself
it requires VRAM but unsure if it stresses it
Heh mining requires usually 8gbs of ram, but the transfers are regular and predictable, which makes the vram chips wear out slower than usually gaming on the card. Linus Tech Tips made a video on that recently.
Linus does mention this in the video, gaming tends to wear down your card way faster than mining does
Even then, I think it's a fair try to get a used GPU from a miner
plus most of the time GPUs are taken care of from miners compared to gamers since they want max profits
Depends where it was done tbh.
Could have been easily running them in outside air cooling or dust heavy environments
to be fair
those cards aren't old enough to normally die via silicon, so the fact that there is a bunch of dead ones shows that that logic can't be correct to the level that he explains
hi, I want to upgrade my rtx 1650 with a gpu that has 8gb vram, I am between RTX3050 and RX6650, which one is better?
also thinking about RX5600 because it is cheaper but it has 6gb vram
Tried the game with 4090 for the first time
i like how the GPU usage is like 70% with 5120x1440p resolution max settings
6700xt instead vs rtx 3050.
then get the 6700xt
otherwise drop down to 6600xt and get that over the 3050
RT is a non option at this price point, whereas either AMD card have significant advantage in pure raster for this price point
I use the 6700XT and it is solid for the price.
I tend to clean my cards everyone once in a while and make sure it's all tip-top. I don't like the idea of my money going out the window for no good reason. So hardware maintenance for me is very important.
4070TI goes brrrrrrrr
The only value in the RTX 4000 is amazingly the 4090
Which I saw yesterday on amazon I saw a 1670$ 4090, and a lot of below 1900$ cards
Still got the usual 2000$+ but there's enough below the 2000$ price point you could grab a 4090 for close to the MSRP nvidia first gave it
let me explain
if I sold one apple for $5
and I sold 3 apples for $11
which one is better value
obviously more people can afford one apple
sorry to ping, what if 6650 is cheaper (I found it on sale right now), should I still get 6600. (aslo 6700 makes my cpu bottleneck)
if it makes your cpu bottleneck simply increase your resolution/get a better monitor
if you can get a 6650 cheaper than a 6600 i'd say go that route, unless the cooler on the 6650 is garbage
thanks
rip off i would never pay 5 dollars for an apple
thats exactly the point I am making
i'm the guy to say get an ARC gpu
ironically it's actually fine now
it's like 50$ more than a 3050 but has way more potential headroom
as a person who also used dxvk, im just putting it out there, you're still going to get a large number of graphical bugs
intel's going ham with updates, so i'd hope it doesn't last too much longer
they already fixed DX9 recently
if something looks like it runs like shit on protondb, it probably also runs like trash on intel cards
they fixed dx9 because they gave up on their translation layer and moved to dxvk
realistically, i think that was the correct move, but they did jack in terms of heavy lifting
I was just trying to point out that they actually give a shit about their stuff
and won't just drop it after a year
that's one of the nice bits about intel
realistically, im glad that they're using dxvk, because it means that they might actually contribute back majorly to dxvk, so we can stop using Dx, because its ancient garbage,
I just wish that CPU makers would move the hell on off of x86 stuff
40 year old design
can we like-
do something new yet
yeah, problem is that cpu architecture isnt open source.
so they will NEVER EVER move off of x86, unless they're the ones developing it.
that's why ARM's going off
it actually HAS a future
wearas x86's future is NOW
so it SHOULD die by now
the main problem is, that software would need to work on these new architectures without a translation layer, which is improbable.
I bet if they did linux would rise to power
which I don't wanna sound annoying but OHMYGOD PLEASE NO.
because trying to get someone to support decade old software, and recompile it, is apparently impossible.
i've used linux for gaming for quite a while. its really not that bad
good luck getting obscure usb devices to work though
thats your problem
kind of broke me.
it wasn't PLAIN arch
that's fucking suicidal for a windows user
I used garuda
if you're looking for gaming, arch anything is a bad time
debian and fedora currently have passable support for gaming.
well
I also tried ubuntu
realistically though, the separation of effort for linux gaming is a mess
which hilariously was even worse for me
made me want to cave in a wall with my cranium
ubuntu with its ancient ass kernel is pure why
but yeah uhm
garuda was worse than having an ARC gpu at launch
DX9 games would not work
period.
spent like 4 hours finding support for it
thankfully, if you're not on ubuntu, arc cards work alright in linux
because everything is basically dxvk
R3 but it's actually a whole PC line up
I think it would be issue more with card drivers than with garuda, and if garuda had issue wouldn't then arch had them?
On the other hand, does gtfo works for you on the newest Linux at all.?
would anyone know if gaming on a kvm is a pain in the ass ? i heard battleeye would ban you if you were playing on a VM
Does GTFO really have battle eye?
I don't think they have any anti cheat to my knowledge
I can't really offer anything since I have no clue how it is with VM gaming
the only "anti cheat" is just Steam account verification and that Microsoft thing
part of the reason trolling has been an issue the past month
yeah there are a lot of modders you'll encounter
It's not really so bad I suppose, I'm sure you can easily find a fairly consistent group or two
im talking in general
I assume it should run in a VM given how open the modding scene is
Depends on how you configure your VM. Muda did great videos on how to pass video card to VM and configure for Windows to thinks its on bare metal.
Didn't test
Yeah uhm- no.
I would think a 1070 would have adequate support.
Sorry didn't read back enough
The game breaks every time I try to open it, I've verified all files and still nothing
any idea?
Check out #1049599987878723635
Seems like GTFO just became worse in optimization for higher polling rate mouses
Now I can't even use 2000 Hz polling rate
Does anyone know AIO’s
I can join lobbies, drop, then my game keeps booting me to main menu. I cannot figure out why. I have restarted Steam, my computer, and reinstalled. Still the same issue consistently. Been playing the game this week without issue.
check free diskspace, someone had a crashing game all of a sudden, his free diskspace was less than 5gb .. he freed up space, crashing stopped
also appdata \ locallow \ 10 chambers collective \ gtfo \ player.log after crash, could be a clue there
Hm. Plenty of disk space left and the game isn't crashing, just shoots me back to main menu. It's dropping me from the lobby- I'm losing connection to the host or something.
Thanks for these, I wouldn't have thought of them!
hmm usually its a disconnect of some sort if its back to rundown screen, might wanna look at the #known-issues stuff, vpn and especially the QoS software thingy (asus gamefirst and the like) ..
vpn's do steam proxy stuff u get to lobby up a-ok but once u drop, u start talking to a different set of ip addresses and if those route another way, host<-!->client (in some cases)
also if mods, cheats, whatever, game thinks u on diff revision or your expedition checksum turned out different, buh bye for that drop etc
Checked. Not seeing the issue I'm having specifically. The game indicates I'm connected to the server and the game doesn't fully crash, it just drops me from the lobby. No mods/cheats.
Wondering if someone in the lobby was using a VPN.
shouldn't kill your connection per se .. if nothing else, do try a hotspot wifi or a phone-usb-tether, it could be something stupid like your isp being under ddos and having drop-small-udp temporarily in place
(seen that many times in my line o work)
Thank you, I'll keep this in mind in case other fixes don't work!
Okay, I've isolated the issue. I cannot drop R2B4. Every other mission works multiplayer without issue, but that one boots me back to menu OR kicks everyone from the lobby upon drop. Is there a way to submit the bug?
theres a thread, old one, in tech support
but yeh #bug-reporting
hope u figure it out, cool level except for fog and spitters == everything 🙂
I was about to point to this thread yeah
friend is trying to join but this happens before he gets booted whats going on
its always r1a3, the middle screen on joining. for getting booted, once again #known-issues .. vpn/qos/mods/cheats usually.. 🙂
Not necessarily. It happens in vanilla too
When you are locating master or joining the lobby, it will say R1A3
It’s when it stays on R1A3 when that’s the issue
yeh join failure can hang there while retry etc.. but all standard gtfo stuff, "cant join" usually network related... oooor cracked community version of game.. 🙂
Short answer, no
can you elaborate further ? there are no way to trick softwares into making it seem like it's running on a baremetal computer ?
Yes
But it's kind of difficult and quite a mess
Mostly because it requires obfuscating all virtualized drivers by replacing them entirely with other ones
or that's what I understand about it at least
Also on a small note, I was replying to the message you replied to lol
To add on this. Anti-Cheat systems are constantly updated to fight the various types of possible obfuscation, so it's a tad unlikely that you will find a long lasting solution online
It's stupid arms race that just ruins it for everyone not doing sketchy shit
yeah i checked out a github repo that guides you through this https://gitlab.com/Mageas/single-gup-passthrough
looks like a lot of work and i 100% agree that anti cheats will keep up with this. looks like if you want to play new releases you have to stuck with windows
Anyone up for giving a microphone suggestion?
My mute button on my mic seems to no longer be working so I'm in need of a new onr
whats your setup like? you use headphones?
yes the headphones I use plug into my current microphone. they are just normal headphones I use for kinda everything
you plug your headphones into your microphone?
also are they actually headphones or just earbuds or iems
they are actual headphones that have bluetooth and wire options so I just use the wire.
and yes I plug them into the mic with the wire
do you use your mic outside of discord?
not really. maybe a few games here and there but zoom classses arent a thing for me anymore
Id probably just bind a discord mic mute toggle
fair. i just preferer the botton to try and be sure its off and some backgroup app like alexa isnt stealing data
I have enough of that from google
Mmm, fair, but discord is also definitely scraping your calls
true which is why outside of gamming I try not to use it so they dont have everything. if i want to say hi to a friend I just text them
Id probably get a decent 50$ mic then have an inline usb switch
not a bad idea. ill look into that thanks
Either that, or disassemble and clean the mic switch
Probably trivial to solder a new button
sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through when your phone records you anyway
can't exactly disable that mic unless you take it out
Did dev upgraded the texture? GPU usages seem higher after update
altering config files doesn't take up space, impossible ain't the word
File compression too, no?
Steam downloads don’t reflect on the actual size of the game you’re downloading, at least of what I’ve seen from my downloads
Hello, randomly when I'm playing GTFO my AMD driver will randomly crash. It can be in the main menu, in game, wherever. It doesn't happen at a specific time, I've had it happen 3 minutes after booting the game in the main menu and I've played for 45m before its crashed. Any ideas why? I have a 7900xtx
i would probably try this if youve not already ~~https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/10ue7mh/people_with_7900xtx_driver_timeout_crashing/~~
i would probably update to the most recent driver if you have not already
38 votes and 57 comments so far on Reddit
have done so and it doesnt fix it
I saw a possibly usefull answer
disabling MPO
The file's content looks legit
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm]
"OverlayTestMode"=dword:00000005
They provide a .reg file to make the change for you, but if you'd rather do it by hand the key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm, create DWORD OverlayTestMode with value 00000005.```
Hey uh what do these go to and are they optional? I’m new to building pcs and I’ve hooked up every part needed so idk
They came with the case so idk
looks like usb, front panel audio, usb 3+?, and a fan
Idk where any of them go😭
read motherboard manual "this is all the motherboard connectors" page
then read the case manual for what connectors are which
Example
I'd change your fan power mode if you have a PWM controller
And optimize fan curves
i need some help
why do i have frame drop when i play gtfo
1 month ago it was really smooth
Have you updated your graphics drivers recently. If not I'd do that
the first thing i do was update the graphics driver
didnt touch my laptop for 1 months so have to do that
i think its bc i have just do the level for the first time
Fellas if you guys own a raspberry pi 3 model b what would you do with it?
Host a server
yeah this game got a 8K remake in a 70mb download
SORRY
many have had help deleting folder generatedicons in appdata locallow / 10 chambers... / gtfo / ..
i keep having connectivity issues to every mulitplayer game i play. i keep getting disconnected mid match on r6 or js any game. can someone help me please? figure out the connectivity issues?
Anyone know why I maintain only like 35-40 FPS? I have 32g, RTX3080, and i7-11800H. I really wanna play this game at a manageable FPS 😭
could be isp internet issue or if wifi, a bad connection.. if you have access to router, check your dhcp lease time, u can set it to 12h or 24h or so
Are you on minimum?
Might be a temperature issue? Since you are running a laptop thats highly probable.
if it's temperature you should try monitoring it while playing
or maybe your power supply?
if it was power supply related, the device would just turn itself off
most likely thermal throttling or just wrong settings
Side note, ive seen black screen crashes be the culprit of the gpu, rather than psu.
Laptops suck
usually for that you just rollback a driver update, or most likely need a driver update
it was beyond a shadow of a doubt, a bad card.
oh
new nvidia drivers also kinda doodoo apparently
nvidia drivers always dogwater
b-b-but AMD drivers are bad /s
amd tripped up with the new X3D
Recent nvidia drivers have been pretty wonky but generally they are better built than AMD
With the X3D and how it isn’t fully windows-compatible and their new updates, they’ve also been pretty wonky
Early tech adopters have been having it rough
they are both dogwater, AMD only has the leg up in linux because their shit actually works on wayland.
i think the main issue is that directx needs to get fucking chucked into the burnable trash pile.
nvidia and AMD shouldn't be the optimization wizards, that should be on the game engine makers.
"oh, we have a workaround that only triggers in sims 3 so that if a sim is holding a pizza box, the local area around the PC running the game does not become a superfund site"
"and yes, its still in there, of course, no i don't care"
"of course if the developer wants to fix it, its only 2 lines to fix it btw"
simply make it open source NVIDIA
in R3 im sitting at 170-210 fps with 4090 @5120x1440p
R7 and larger maps run with less fps, GPU low usage.
Are you on maximum settings?
Really thats all a 3080 ti can manage?
I think that's more about optimization
Im playing on my 4k TV 120hz. And many maps can only get 60-70fps
Im using a 3060ti but plan on getting a rx 6950 xt I dont use a fps tracker but it feels fine
Is it usual for your 3080 Ti to do at least 120FPS on 4k on overall games?
I didnt think GTFO was all that demanding but yeah in some games I mean with 3060 ti(new games) at 1440p i normally get around 100 or more fps
Hmm well esport games im getting good fps but triple A games at 4k struggle to get more than 60+
Darktide i cannot get good fps without dlss.
With a 3080 ti?
Yes
Try more optimized settings instead of cranking everything to ultra
Darktide is just a nightmare when it comes to performance unfortunately
