this game def looks like something id roll with, i love a challenge. my concern is, i only buy games that will be active for a long term, i came from new world which is dying rather quickly and i need a replacement since its dwindling away due to severe lack of challengeing content for me, opinions on this games difficulty aspect, and how long yall think it will last?
this game gets a full new mission set every few months. it has bursts of activity in that way
all old missions are permanently retired and cannot be played again
im good with new content, i just need a challenge once i understand the game, im not looking for a cakewalk, idc about rewards like gear, just want to get into some carnage and maybe have my ass handed to me and learn how to overcome.

The difficulty progression is pretty linear between tiers, and general difficulty increases are common between rundown
its been a long time since i played a good game that the devs actually want to wreck you, and not hand the game to you
my only down side is i have a core group of friends that play new world but im not sure theyd be into this kind of game, but i am lol.
The main problem people have with this game is that it's not stealth based enough. Its very strategy based tho

anyway, the most likely thing is @wide oracle , because this is the first rundown of 1.0, they made it less sadistic to draw in the new players and then it'll keep getting harder as time goes on

The devs did something right by not oversaturating every level with the more special enemies
Too much ammo/tool, significantly shorter levels, less enemy threats, buffs to every single gun, alarm set up is far easier

Hi everyone I noticed that sometimes the enemies (especially fast moving ones) have some janky movement, so I'm having actual trouble getting clean hits unless they are staggered, does this game use dedicated servers or P2P connection for lobbies?

Yeah I find that my performance during shooting gallery sections do a complete 180 depending on who hosts the server
and sometimes playing across country borders, an isp starts blocking udp as there's a ddos happening and p2p udp goes down the same drain etc etc
Its not a gamebreaking issue or anything of that degree, just annoying especially if a few of those enemies end up slipping past the formation
p2p and dedicated hosting are not independent of each other. there is no technical reason why you cannot have both.
I'll try to host games myself next time and see how my friends feel with it. Thanks a lot for clarifications. Also if there are any general tips against fast movers beyond just staggering or stunning them, I'd gladly take it. I assume there might be some interpolation going on regarding their actual hitboxes but there is no sandbox enviroment for me to do some proper testing.
biotracker-tagging helps u get a bead on them asap, and generally they do run at you, alltho some do their strafe-dodge-dance first .. going behind a corner or any narrow chokepoint helps, if they line up and u have a hel-weapon, every shot gives multiple enemies damage..

i'm far from the best shot ever but i enjoy dmr + har/shotgun/sniper, depending
shotguns I feel like are really strong but I just can't seem to make them work
I'm a lot more comfortable one tapping heads with HAR rather than getting in shotgun range where enemies hurt me back
I havent tried the sniper yet but my friends that did have been really struggling so I'm hesitant ^^
shotgun is more of a "burst gun" in the sense that you pull it out to quickly delete 8 sleepers
sniper is terrible against swarms, and its only 3 shots per megazine and 12 ammo max
but it can oneshot anything to the head, its overkill on lower levels but c1 and below its always best to have atleast one

Yeah I noticed, it seems to be good for dealing with bigger enemies
Part of the issue is because ammo packs work for both guns, the snipers often end up focusing too heavily on their other weapon and having too little ammo for it while their sniper rifle sits at like %70+ most of the time
and for dmr, the biotracker triangle moves in a way a small shooter moves, line up the triangle well in advance, watch that nubbly head pop up and boom, splat, yellow star, done. satisfaction.
a rule to keep in mind, always use ur special twice as your main
they fill up twice as fast
bad move to have ur sniper 88% and ur smg or pistol at 20%
Thats generally how our sniper ends up ^^
this rule still applies to it, when ur using sniper try to shoot ur main as little as possible and relying on ur teammates mostly

yup strafe is walk time, there is no penalty of running forward and moving your mouse fast, even 180

yup it's something your spine will have to learn not to do here, alltho holding a/d and then tapping shift is still supposedly a "dodge", alltho not as noticeable than before

try increasing your max queue frames until a point where your fps get stable

There is no "best weapons". Some weapons are better in different Situation. I personally use a lot Hel Rev and Sniper.
For the most part they are situational and down to personal preference, that being said I'll almost always default to the heavy assault rifle unless something else specific is needed. Its very good at clearing small enemies but is a little weaker at dealing with bosses and giants quickly
@hollow spindle honestly gathering a group of 4 isn't a 100% necessity, and bots do indeed exist for you to play with. But for the full experience with intended difficulty that would pretty much need 4 people for the utility and firepower

1 sniper on someone, and guns that you don't suck with.
We take 3 Burst 1 Bio. Because c foam is not that helpful i.m.o. but 2 sentrys + c foam and mine also work easy.

not really worth all the time but it's extremely good versus a specific enemy type

i specifically find it frustrating around the defoggers because the squad ends up consuming the other items on the spot, usually
vs throwing some defoggers and then backtracking to try and find other slightly taller stacks of defoggers
Thing is that QoL would completely destroy the difficulty the game offers as you can preplan even more than before
To compensate that, the devs will have to buff the enemies, the alarms and the rooms
because you can carry 5 defoggers now instead of 2-3?

Sometimes the resources are shit (2 uses) so you have to go back & forth to resupply yourself
whereas a 5 use resource can allow you to keep defending for a much longer without worrying about resupply

For fog repellers that can help for long alarms in fog
R4D2 had a class 6 alarm completely under fog if you were to do the secondary objective

yeah, coming from other FPSs it just seems silly that you cant stack them, especially when you have other QoL improvements like reloading a half full clip puts the unused ammunition back into inventory
yeah, I guess playing this back to back with B4B makes the style of play kinda weird, since you do a ton of prep work muling stuff around for a horde/siege in B4B

I’m a newer player and just wondering if there’s a best order to to attempt the rundowns? For example, after completing R6B1, should I attempt B2 or C1 first? Or is it just personal preference?
Personal preference but the first level of each tier is easier than the other levels of the same tier
so C1 is easier than C2 & C3
D1 is easier than D2, D3 & D4

Lets just assume you could place stuff down. I can verify that it stretches out the mission unnecessarily and honestly does not improve survivability or fun factor of gtfo.
What i would like to see out of the devs, is a way to trade items/packs
how do you effectively kill a tank without getting close to it
The only way to fight a tank is to flank it, but remain near cover to dodge the tongues
And then move behind cover before the tongue hits you
Tank tongue is basically the only one that cant land with broken LOS

If by you mean, fight with only bots. Probably frustratingly annoying.

Just got this game, think I'm doing something wrong. Playing solo with 3x bots, can't get pat second checkpoint, I foam all the doors, pass all the scans, but when we run into the next room, all my teamates get one shottted and I get torn by like 15 baddies.....any guidance appreciated. ty

one slot for carryon (tool medi ammo disinfect), the ammokit can be 1 use (20%) or even 6 use (120%) but that ammopack will fill the slot

i also feel like, with the guns anyway..it seems if you grab a gun with a high mag capacity, it strikesme that the gun would need more ammo to kill a target, so ive been running with AR's and/or burst to effectively kill mobs assuming the persons aim is on point

It depends on what you're killing. Weapons like scattergun or sniper have more ammo efficiency against Giants than like machine gun, but machine has better ammo efficiency against small guys

primaries are really flexible, all do similar things, some ones that stand out is dmr 1 shots shooters with head shots, hel revolver pierces if you are good at lining things up. pistol 1 shot staggers and is really ammo efficient
if you cant aim, assault rifle and bullpup are popular, bullpup has a slow reload though

Uh, kill the scouts and pull the rooms
Have a sniper rifle and let the person with it carry a 4 use ammo when you go into the mom room. Sniper can solo hold the hybrid waves and everyone else can clear the rooms ahead
had 2 hold the door while sniper/mines and bio went forward to clear the scouts and set pull rooms/doors
Having a sniper push and clear the scouts helps speed things up too

and do not melee and have trouble with cfoam

the bots do split up for cluster scans but they leave they seem to return to the player location after touching a scan zone. its maybe a conflict of commands.

instead of sticking to scanning
can mess you up really badly if your first time with them and try to go to defend the chokepoint while theyre doing scan

It is a strong recommendation to not dual hit with the host.
