Hi everybody, relatively new player, wondering if there's a rundown 'pun not intended' of how the multiplayer connectivity works? Specifically, tick rates? I've seen the unusually jerky framerates of the sleepers in firefights being blamed on lag and am wondering how reasonable of an explanation that is?
Hey guys. Been playing for a while and have a question about the door spawn mechanics. I think it’s based on time it takes to complete the scans and also the number of enemies remaining? So for example if we kite the horde around and don’t kill many of them until we have completed all the scans on a level 3 security door quickly, we only get 1 wave. Are both related do you know or am I way off? Love this game it’s so intense!
When you activate an alarm waves will spawn indefinitely until you do all the scans, another wave will spawn if you kill enough sleepers

they should definitely add more functionality to the terminals
anyone notice sleepers still randomly alerting after opening doors
it usually goes like open the door - crouchwalk/walk in - stop as you see sleepers waking up - sleeper goes from just the waking up animation straight to alert

and yes nobody moves or has the flashlight on, no controllers attached, yadda yadda

if we had previous rundowns that'd already be like 20 maps they'd have to keep updating, rebalancing, fixing bugs on and whatnot
with the map proliferation as rundowns go on it'd quickly become unmanageable
in my personal opinion the old map should still be present in the game now whether it's already in balance or not because it's been released alrdy. the old stage should also remain as the original without being changed even though there is an update on the mechanism. it's the unique point in some of the old stages, so it shouldn't be too complicated about this.
It will split the player base, it will be hard to maintain. Updating every rundown's bugs instead of making new ones. But especially the player base being allover the rundowns will destroy the LFG.

And obviously not every level is for everyone. Just try to improve, ask around, meet new people and new mechanics

i'm using numbers from ray's sheet
which are based on team damage
those numbers are heavily and unnecessarily inflated
semi does 60 damage to a teammate, therefore 60 damage
i see nothing wrong with that

Besides D1, the B levels are the only ones I haven't cleared more than once.
A isn't hard, but you still have to play the game if that makes sense.
I love the A levels, they're kind of relaxing after a while.
I liked the A tier very much, the more I play D1 though. Damn I love it more and more
D1 is really fun, it's just stressful and bullcrap sometimes.

The trick is to coordinate with everyone on the Discord.
If we all run the 3 alarm doors at the same time with everyone on the Discord..
The servers will crash and default to completing the rundown. Trust me.

all sleepers pretty much dont move at all behind a door, so the turrets will have just about 100% accuracy.
any npcs they could hobble together for this game would either be a nusance or completely OP

from what i've been told by the devs, what's visible on the screen
if anything enters the red region the bio tracker will beep.
thats not true cause you can ping scouts off screen if you aim at them

13 is definitely the zone with the most scouts in C1 (and in this rundown).

Get to the generator room first, then I'm pretty sure you can lure only a part of them at once by using gunshot noise
Personally, I would save up some ammo from the cell zones and use it to fight the titans while kiting them around 124B.

Hey, i don't really get how the detection system works, sometimes i feel like i can sneak past them, and others times i get detected. Sometimes i can take out an enemy without alerting others, sometimes i can't. Sometimes they spot me from far away, sometimes they don't. I really don't get it, does anyone know how it works?
a good tip for moving around: don't run, crouch instead
when the guys are glowing, they're listening to their surroundings, you can move a tiny bit if you're near them
in the first glowing stage they will also be able to hear the deaths of nearby sleepers, so be careful before killing
in the second glowing stage, where they're having a little spazm, do not shine your light or move, doing these will cause them to turn red and scream, alerting the whole room to your presence

shining flashlights on them and moving will cause them to go into the next stage of alertness

most sleepers have a weak spot in their back and head
another weak spot is on the back of their head, this one is better to hit than the back and the head, as it has damage bonuses from both of them I believe
Cool. How do you effectively take down the big guys? They have so much damage, and it seems the only way to kill them is through shooting combat.
you need around 4 people to fully charge hammers to take them down
1 person aiming for head the others aiming for the back

also, tiny little mistake I made, sleepers can always hear you do stuff (move, kill, etc), it's just that they have a larger hearing radius when glowing

My buddies and I had a problem on B1. Something must have spawned on the wall. We alerted a room and killed every sleeper that came at us. We checked around for a while and the battle music continued along with screeches occasionally. All of us heard this. Is this known bug?

They did fix it actually, that could be bad host desync
but you would know if you had played it pre-fix

Yes, it's the terminal in the center of the giant ass ominous room.
Doors in lockdown require the reactor to open them during code/verification segments.

You're pretty doomed for A3. A2 is a very easy solo, though.
question from a noob. why use the shotgun over the combat shotgun? it just seems better in everyway
The pump is better. It has more dmg than the combat. It can be used to kill big guys and to destroy hordes. Just like Storm said. It simpy has less ammo. It is prolly the best all-rounder from all the specials.
Still the combat has benefits. It is easy to use and can become pretty good in the right hands. It has more ammo and is actually good in killing small ones. Just kinda useless against big guys. I would say that is the main difference

combat gets way more kills one shot per kill, which is not always possible and its reload sucks. also big guys and some other variants of enemies cough ||charger|| cough

I dont mind the reload. It isnt that worse. You simply have to keep it in mind
there's two kinds of reloads: "i'm fine reloading this while kiting/running" and "i'm not fine reloading this while kiting/running"
and if you actually got 12 kills with it, there's a very good chance that there isn't much left
semi is the former, combat is the latter
i'm not stupid but there's a significant difference in how much safety you need to do that

intimidate to make them split
either idk how to do that properly or it's not reliable
move around so that bad position they had becomes a good position

Not true actually, I've many times run away after laying 2 mags into her and nothing spawns. She needs to be within a certain proximity of you to spawn

She will wake and scream when you shoot her through the door. But no spawns until you get closer.

i usually stick with a pistol/bullpup rifle and a shotgun because the shotgun you can usually 2 hit a big guy
combat shotty is good for massive hoards but it doesnt feel strong enough imo

so I usually use the assault rifle (not that good), smg (pretty good), carbine (love the thing), or the bullpup rifle (god-tier)
carbine is nice but its 4shot so if you miss you lose all that 4 bullets

Mine is helpful, other than that sentries would be nice to have. If you like using bio feel free to make use of it.
Weapons are really quite flexible, whatever you enjoy using is something you should bring
c-foam can be helpful, but it's not going to be overly helpful compared to a sentry or mine
We tried mine but it seemed to deal too little damage
The trick with mines is placement. Hard to get. I don't even know yet how to place them to maximize damage
I guess low if you want to hit many sleepers and high if you only want to get taller enemies, titans hybrids
Mines are very powerful, you just need to make good use of placements like Mid mentioned. Play around with where you can put them and you'll find out some good spots for them to go on the doors

Also In a2 we start with like a bunch of fog so should we try to sneak in or just gun the big ones down right away
You can do either of those options, but I find going back and dealing with them later to be the easier of the two to do.
Having them high is to deal with bigs, and they may not be used up if none spawn. Not a bad idea to have one higher up though

Right as you start there is a path to your right
It avoids the whole fog and takes you to the security door
Just look around a bit for it but dont walk too much in front or you will fall haha

You can also walk past them, just take time to stop while they are light up
Have a person at a time walk past until you get comfortable with how walking will alert them

I am starting Resuscitation there is a room with a Large Sleeper right next to the door its not a scout due to there was no tendrils its head was bulbous with black growths on it and it arches its back.

So Big Shooters just aim for the head and Big Sleeper like Striker just blow its body apart.
all enemies take more damage from the back, most enemies take more damage to the head
if you're going in for a loud kill from stealth it's best to hit the occiput with a full charge first
note that they don't actually have back hitboxes, it's based on your position vs sleeper direction

Do note that solo is highly discouraged for new players. It is a good way to learn, but expect to need teammates once you've reached the doors to 252 and 253. Alternatively, you can swap to A2 once you're comfortable, as it's far easier to solo.

You should have a very small window if you start sprinting and jump at about the same time.
It's usually not recommended to initiate a sprint-hop in range of an enemy, though.

cpu culling workload just puts more work on the CPU instead of GPU afaik
