Hi people! Has anyone ever experienced the issue of not seeing a teammate? It happens with a friend of mine: we play but he is not visible for my other friends (I am the host and I see him). It even happened that one of my friends sees him static and can damage him by shooting, despite him walking along the place.

I did look into important qol/bug fix mod thingies beforehand because seemingly those are really helpful (particularly the one that gives qol to the bots) but hopefully nothing blows up when I actually try to get playing with my partner

betterbots makes it so they aim better (I think) teleport more aggressively, so they don't get stuck and so they don't friendly fire (I think, though I might be mixing that up)
zombified initiative is mainly supposed to make it so you can tell them what packs to pick up and when to use them instead of it being automatic but it's buggy as hell
Afaik it's seemingly just a "make the bots less janky" type thing. That's the one I loaded in, didn't load in the latter
If only because it also seems to modify their behavior a bit TOO much beyond just QOL

The former seemed decent qol though and I saw it widely recommended for the purposes of playing with less than a full team because of the lack of dynamic difficulty balancing
That and getting capped by CPU friendly fire seems unbelievably annoying and I can't call somebody a bellend for hitting me if it's the CPU that does it

You run both usually
hel auto where you use it correctly, but burst isn't bad tbh

Yeah, that and reshade lets you mess with the post processing of colours and stuff to your liking which is good
Reshade can hook most modern video games and then you can use daltonize fx which is designed for colourblindness correction

Just got the game and I wana play the game in the correct order for lore, I have heard the stuff about the old runs being removed and then brought back as alts wich is something lore wise.
I assume the correct order is tuning the rundowns 1-7 and then the alternate 1-7 and then finish with 8 right?
Or are all the rundowns the same lore wise and the numbering is just the difficulty?
you don't need to play the original rundowns, the current version contains Alt Rundown 1-6, Rundown 7 and 8 which offer a complete experience

From what I’ve heard is that their lore is different tho, the 2 dimensions thing
generally OG Rundowns VS Alt Rundowns are just less refined gameplay and just slight variations, lore wise there are slight differences however the only OG rundown you could play for lore would probably be Rundown 6
as Alt R6 and OG R6 do have quite a considerable difference in lore

Hi there, just came here to ask about an extraction bug I've gotten twice now. Where the extraction scan is finished but the mission doesn't end. Both times this has happened is in missions where we have had to carry an item back to extraction, once in r2a1- playing with two other people and r4c1- by myself. The instance in r4 I also got the eternal scout screamer bug too, whether they're connected I don't know. Only reason I'm asking here is because I havn't seen anyone talking about it online and I want to avoid it in late game as missions will take longer to complete. Any help would be appreciated.
Usually the game not ending after finishing extraction is due to desync between players. Are you guys in different parts of the world, have high ping to each other, have desync issues throughout the game, etc?
infinite scout scream generally breaks the game, so not a surprise in that instance - though it is strange to hear it happen on r4c1, as it's most associated with other levels

For r4c1, its probably uplink bug
where if you return to lobby while dropping, it breaks the game
any additional information, whether videos, images, words, or the log file from that instance of the game would help, could possibly be bad desync bricking a lobby and "infinite scout" being used as the simplest descriptor (rather than the infinite screaming scout associated with r7d1 r8c1)

the 3 things mentioned here that can stop a run from completing are

Desync
scan finishes but a player doesnt update their game state. You are stuck until they leave or resync. The game funnily enough often seems to run normally still -
Uplink bug
You return to lobby while in drop and level isnt loaded yet. Level has to have an uplink
This will soft lock you if its a side objective and brick the game if you try to do the uplink -
Infinite screaming scout
(Mostly seen on R7D1 and R8C1)
Scout goes into a permanent screaming state. Game borks with enemies not rly updating correctly and often just disappearing. Extract usually shouldnt even appear for this

If you do the uplink theres a few ways it will brick the game (as in how it ends up. Result is always the same)
in R5E1, error alarm that is triggered when you open room 543, what is it? I don't see info in wiki
uhh no error alarm is triggered opening that zone
the door to zone 543 is a class 5 alarm
I also pinged terminal what was required to disable that error and it was in 528, we were like wtf it is beginning of the mission

Does have a special event where when interact box is enabled then spawn snatcher once
And snatcher has SecondaryDoorBreak property so you should just trigger the box and kill it before foaming

Also you can send half your team back to spawn before pulling the alarm then just pull and they deactivate
That way you get the 4 surge or 5 giant alarm for free

Yes
Any alarm deactivation from a terminal or some doors will cause an end to every wave
The game has no communication between the door that caused it and the terminal that shuts it
So they just made it disable all
That's why door alarms mostly work and don't cancel errors but do cancel themselves
so before blood door one person go to 528 zone to terminal, then we pull blood door, clear it, put cell to 543, use alarm, person in 528 deactivate alarms and no enemies anymore?
timed properly, you can even cancel a scout wave (at least with uplink completion)

when you deactivate alarm using terminal, should you stay near terminal until it will process command or you can run away from it?

every command except uplink verification needs the term to stay awake for it to end
but the timer still runs in the background
it's just a check for if the terminal is still in the awake state
you can run away from a term and still have it be awake by opening your comms menu and going away
you can close it after being 5 meters away from it
and the term will be permanently awake until reset again by someone getting close
but in the end yes you need the term to be open so you need to stay near it if you're not doing the comms menu thing
Thanks for the help guys. If anyone is interested in my case. The limited info I can gather from my background recording; The scout I managed to bug out was in z76d of r4c1, if it matters. Since it breaks all enemies across the map I waddled my way over the extraction which did start but didn't finish the mission for me. Just primary objective. It's a shame there isn't a fix for it happening while solo
Glad there's still a community built around this broken game
the core concept is a one of a kind though the execution wasn't great
there also is a fix in vanilla: cfoam the offending scout and kill it
but I kinda don't wanna deal with deafeningly loud scouts that brick my game unless I Cfoam them, so I run this and never look back
among many other fixes
nobody should have to deal with softlocks/progression stops/crashes, ever
The vanilla fix I found out after the fact unfortunately but it wouldn't have helped out since extraction was broken
Yeah, bricked extract has never personally happened to me but that sounds like uplink bug. Speedrunners discovered that one since they cage drop a lot in a session of attempts

Uplink levels just gotta make sure you fully drop. Otherwise I’d pin it to massive desync with a client and the host is waiting to hear back. I have had that once in a public lobby, took like 15s for result screen to pop up and gameplay just continued. Something something peer to peer with very large ping

r5c1 was spend 10 minutes waiting to fully drop before resetting, then doing a whole alarm and rolling a 50/50 for cell
30 hours spent autoresetting but no real world use for speedrunning found

and certain terminals might require you do input a specific command to complete objectives or start/stop alarms
If there’s a special command that’s not noted in obj you can also type commands to get a list of everything normal and special of a terminal

rest can be taken slowly or is visible
and for both code 2 and 3 u can abuse the shit out of hel rifle to get 4 pens every time
u repeat both codes, code 2 at least once, code 3 multiple times
