sawed off is the best main weapon. it has acceptable range and the greatest killing power of any main weapon, being good into every target in the game
hel revo and dmr have more range as medium-long range wave clear.
hel shotgun and hel autopistol are support weapons where you play to stagger enemies to keep your team safe. hel shotgun leans more into close range and kill power while autopistol leans into medium range and uptime
have some fun with it till ya find something you like
apart from this there aren't really any real playstyles

and in practice there is never a reason not to slot sawed off or hel shotgun (but don't let meta control you, play what is fun to you. all the guns mentioned are more than strong enough for everything in the game without any issues)

levels just have set consumables that are allowed to spawn, not all of them are correct but even without fog, fog repellors are worth taking

I'll grant that for most players gaming ability or limited time investment means people won't spend much time with the majority of weapons. I just also don't think this is a good point in favor of weaker weapons. Pretty much everyone would be better off if they could play the entire arsenal, and I think they would gravitate towards slightly stronger picks if they had the experience to do so.

the main thing about this imo is how bad are they? cause in your example if the player understands that they are supposed to just shoot with hel rifle too even if they miss or dont get pens then probably they are more effective, but if they take 2 weeks to fire a single shot, or misuse hel rifle heavily... the mg feels better if they just dump ammo into the enemies
Someone using arbalist, sniper or AR is gonna benefit a lot from hel rifle, scatter or sawed off

but im inclined to think that 40% accuracy with hel rifle is going to kill more than 70% accuracy with veruta

There's a certain room for arguing that a minimum amount of explanation is sometimes needed. I've played with A LOT of newbie pubs in R1C1 (100+ clears of that) and the "I'm not gonna use Sniper/HEL Rifle/PR even at 100% because it's wasted/I dont have time to reload" is VERY common. It's also very easily fixed tbh.
The issue is when they take stuff that also requires knowing the game AND aim well enough to be effective that, yes, they'd just do better with Carbine/Sawn-off/whatever meta gun you want.
It's why I usually just tell them to take carbine if they are really new and struggle and just want something good to use
It doesn't require knowing enemy movement or when to shoot or stuff like that, you just go pew pew by burst
Whenever I suggest Sawn off they shoot from way too far away and say that the gun doesn't deal the damage it should

is there a difference in "quality"/"scale"/whatever between the early rundowns and later ones or did that get evened out with the alt ones?
R6, R7 and R8 have the highest quality
it's interesting, the game certainly changed a lot even over early access (in terms of appearance) but the core of it has stayed functionally the same
since the original rundown 6 in Dec 2021 its been pretty samey tbh
the scale of each rundown didn't really change, barring r8 which I'd say is a bit bigger in scope, but they did get more mechanics to play with as time went on
more mechanics sounds cool
so far (R1B2) missions seem to be "grab thing that's behind door blocked by keycard"
which is a great formula but it's getting a tiny bit samey
in r1-r5, the lore is pretty tame, being mostly "the warden wants this" in the level objectives and worldbuilding on logs on terminals
in r6 onwards there's story components you cannot avoid in the missions

Are you aware of force-aggro/force-long-range?
nope
If you have at least two enemies and force the nearest enemy w/ LoS to glow, then step into the hitbox of the first enemy right before killing it, you can force long range aggro to occur on specifically that nearest second enemy.
why is that beneficial?
Prevents unintended long-range, especially long-range from long distances.
and wake-up animations are generally slow and easy to follow up w/ depending on how dense the room is
And this can also reduce the information you need to collect
You don't need to know what all can see the second enemy, since it's already awake and can't long-range unless you miss kill
And you don't need to know if there's something far away that can see your first enemy killed
because you know this closer enemy is going to be the long-range
You can also peel off a small next to a giant, or a small on a big cluster
but you probably have to full crouch for it
Sync, glow just the enemy you want to remove from a cluster, force long range on that enemy and kill it w/out bothering the rest of the cluster

uhhhh well mix and match doesnt do much cuz bots tend to balance ammo anyway, so theyll have about the same %, and as how do they shoot
bots shoot on line of sight, at any range, mostly bodyshots and using both guns equally to balance
so thats why long range, good dmg bodyshot guns are better

Reason why veruta and burst rifle are good efficiency wise is because they have a lot of ammo that the bots can use
But defo a burst canon angle

if you biotrack the enemies, the shotgun sentry shoots always 3 times one single enemy and when the enemy dies with the 1 shot, it still gonna shoot 2 more times at the dead body

the only problem I have with the sniper sentry is that it is not always focusing hybrids, so I rather have 3 burst sentries and and shoot the hybrids myself

Unless you're playing solo your teammates usually have lights of their own to shine away the spitters, so it's less of a problem there
If you're soloing then I get why you find them annoying, usually you just get a long range flashlight and make sure to get them out of the way before doing anything

Lower stamina (higher pulse) means lower movement speed while sprinting
And i think* maybe less melee damage or longer charge time. That part im not 100% on
things like sprinting, jumping, and charged swings with your melee all consume stamina, which visually raises your pulse

Just knew it was one of the two, forgot which
also very important to now, when no enemies are awake, your pulse is capped at 110, so you have like infinite stamina and can sprint without a break, but when enemies are awake or there is an ongoing error alarm, the pulse can rise to higher and I think at 150 it turns yellow, then you are slower and longer charge time like Ribbit said

Yeah, I was originally tipped off by heart-felt and idiot’s R8B4 true duo clear vid on YT, and we did indeed test it in current version. Moth and I did so and I got an error wave spawning effectively on top of me while going for cell despite no enemy leaks from everyone else holding error at the door to zone
