so you just have to ensure you're landing your knife hits as close to that angle on the limbs as possible even when he's spinning like a merry go round?
enemy animations do not reflect 100% their orientation but to honest that's out of the range of things I'm sure about
I know it doesn't for normal strikers and whatnot
it fully updates when it stops doing the wake-up animation
so what reference point do i use as i guess you could say "true back" when intializing a giant take down, just the original orientation when i first hit it?
I also wonder if melee dmg boosters play a siginificant role for knife in terms of achieving breakpoints or if its useless unless you get a certain percentage booster
we usually dont rly consider boosters

on doors is basically infinite, on ground it ain't

On any other surface - 4-5 min (it genuinely ranges)
On enemies - depending on the enemy iirc

any tips on how to defend against wave 2 and 3 of the r8e2 reactor (loadout, location and dealing with tanks / flyers)?
and doing it with only 2 people and 2 bots 🫠
The best place to hold is outside the bulkhead door in 495. Have one person stand in D to spawn block and have a door open from A to B. Also make sure that the doors from A to C and C to D are closed. This makes it so all enemies will always funnel down the long hallway which gives you great lines for hel rifle (which you should take). You then can have your scattergun player sitting on either side of the hallway, let the person in D pull the tanks towards them then you can get some pretty free shots in on the tank
If you know how to play this strat it’s the best way to play reactor IMO
this is the position u want to be in:
The one thing is enemies can sometimes get stuck a lot
So make sure you keep track of how many tanks you have killed so you know if any are stuck
Also flyers aren’t really an issue on wave 2 because they only start to actually come out when you are killing off the last enemies of wave 2

Mines are very good for the first sections and for the class 6 alarms
2 snipers can help more in reactor but the difference between 1 and 2 isn’t that massive as to where it warrants taking it over mines

i think frosty is correct for overall difficulty, but having 2 or 3 sentries actually trivialises reactor if you position them correctly

They’re just good
Its more the fact that mines will do more for you than 1 extra sentry
you can place them backwards facing for tanks, and forwards facing forwards for everything else
and with 3 they kill almost everything for you
(same hold spot as what tgb showed)
but the mines and foam, while not very helpful in reactor, makes the rest of the level A LOT easier

if you are not constantly moving youll get tagged most of the times
purely dependant on the angle that he starts tonguing you can't give an easy answer for that

Hi all, I'm back trying to duo R2E1 again, with some questions about the end part of it.
We've been able to get past the first error alarm quite well now after switching to double sentry, but have been stuck trying to clear the last zone as we get sandwiched by a room waking up and the error waves starting to spawn like 7-10 guys at that point (we haven't made it to the final room yet).
Our new strategy is trying to get to the final room as fast and healthy as possible and holding the back area of the room with sentries to clear out the zone, but we haven't gotten that far yet as one of us usually dies in the pull and the attempt is over due to too many enemies.
Here's an image of our gameplan in the final zone, green line being our general path and red X's being potential holdout points if we need to stop to clear the room, but we don't have many attempts this late into the run yet so it's mostly theoretical.
Do the path and holding points look good, or can we improve on it or maybe even on the strategy? Or is it just a matter of getting better/more familiar with the zone? It takes well over an hour to get here each attempt at this point and tbh it really takes a toll on the mental to keep failing

The time improvement is minor, but in a lot of ways this is a better run. We're done with this level for now, as the time is solid and there are other runs out there to conquer. Sky doing the usual magic of going into a room and suddenly the entire room is dead.

I'm aware it's kinda iffy towards the end, but I'm not sure by how much
just playing for clear it's whatever you just have to be comfy overhealing

if you go slow you get to carry big meds and big ammo into error and you're very safe
memorising box spawns is lowkey extremely helpful for last and 2nd to last zone
Yup we usually have like 4-6 for the alarm itself (and spend ~2 beforehand while setting up for it)
And I'm usually super shaky solo clearing the zone after but that gets easier each attempt

you should just take 3 sniper sentries and bio
and just cover all the long sightlines of any of the alarms and you'll be fine
dropping scatter for HEL rifle will serve you well

Enemies generally spawn two rooms away
Even tho there is no doors connecting directly to your main room
You can set up the doors past that with foam and mines
Focusing mainly on north east and south west
You can also rush that alarm
And do it before collecting all the pds
Bio synergy with sniper sentries helps them shoot faster on bio marked enemies and occasionally not consume ammo.
It makes ammo consumption 70% but yeah

then do secondary and boom as soon as you reach extract you just get out instead of waiting 100 seconds on the really bad error

I'm still fairly new but absolutely love this game, friends refuse to play and commit to it cause its too hard but I really love the teamwork it requires and the challenge, but I've been trying to get through all of R1 with 3 bots and its a bit of a struggle, should I just be running sentries on them? I dont know best guns for anything

The general safe loadout for most missions is Bio, Burst Sentry, Mines, Foam (with reactors it's triple sentry most of the time). Tools tend to be a pain to use through bots, but they always do well with Bio as they ping faster than you do. For the other two, I would have them take mines and sentry since those are easier and more consistent than foam on bots
me and friends managed to get up to R1C1 completed so I've been trying to do R1C2 on my own since they quit, i manage to make some good progress but the bots tend to waste supply packs and not stand in security alarms alot
the spiky strikers, not sure the name kinda mess me up on some alarm doors

(It definetly is a difficult one, but most of that comes from it being quite knowledge based and a lot of that being simple, yet hard to figure out by yourself)

they rage quit when it comes to spending an hour sneaking around and then 1 mess up makes us completely have to restart, I try and tell them we just gotta reapproach and not do that but they just close it and go "this is why I hate this game" lol

a big part about knowledge in this game is that stealth speeds up A LOT or you can even just shoot stuff for most of the level
Plus a single wake up wont kill a run anymore
It does sadly happen quite often tho that people quit over it
people feel like stealthing is mandatory for everything then get mad when game takes forever
Yea ive tried to teach them you can pretty easily melee kill 3 enemies on your own rather than doing a 3,2,1 countdown for EVERY group

surge is an alarm type where enemies keep spawning until spawn cap (25 iirc) and they will respawn every time you kill one

Stealth - doesnt spawn enemies and
Diminished - spawns less enemies
Mixed - mix of different alarm types
Cluster - lots of small scans
Surge - always max enemy spawn cap
Sustain - team scan but progress slowly goes down if not every one is in it
T - this one moves
Dual - only in a single level

Question about soloing, what is long kiting? Does long kiting count in the context of a big room with strikers? or does it count in the context of moving the strikers through multiple rooms within one zone? Or does long kiting only count if you run the strikers up and down the map?

kiting would usually just be like staying in the room and moving around to have them in a better position while long kiting would be to make distance between you and the enemy to have a duration where you have no enemies and are allowed to do stuff
yeah but like, pretend i solo a level, if I wanted to title the video, no long kiting, which one of the above conditions would need to be met
just not going long to make distance between you and the enemies and instead shooting them head on
but isn't that subjective, like what qualifies as distance

a room can be 10 meter squared and it can be a kilometer long

Ok, so distance is across multiple rooms, therefore, long kiting, qualifies if it is within one zone, but probably not within a single large room
Long kiting usually involves shootercap or giantcap and closing security doors to gain even more distance
The game REQUIRES you to kite in some spots

Long kiting kind of would fall into spawn capping without getting things stuck
but tbf. Kiting doesnt necessitate spawn cap (could just kite a singular tank if you wanted lol)

long kiting is generally understood as several zones, getting to spawncap, filtering enemies, to buy so much time that when a lap is done you don’t even see enemies, potentially for a couple minutes with ladderfoaming
Kiting, which the game forces you to do at times especially in E Tiers, is generally understood as the alarm room or an adjacent room to the alarm room to try and get to difficult scans or objective/res locations where holding a position is often extremely risky.
One of the earliest examples of being put into a position to kite is R1B1, if you get the scan location directly in front of spawn where everything is pouring out from, same thing happens in R2E1 first alarm

i think anything that stays in a single zone is short kiting and multiple zones is long
the main distinction though
is that short kiting is about repositioning yourself relative to the wave
while long kiting is about giving yourself a bunch of time to do stuff before wave catches up

R2E1 Error, R5E1 first Error intended route, and something that has you go a long distance like R4C3 PE or R5D1 Error I dont think counts as long kiting outright unless you would proceed to doubleback through the zones and then do the whole usual long kiting stuff

it's probably about as fast. with worst possible code plugs for every code you'll be 5 behind, and you're virtually guaranteed to make up those 5 during code 1 and 2 (code 3 you have a kraken to kill so you can't get teamscan done)

If the the error alarm does indeed spawn 19 snatchers exactly, then one of them failed to spawn at the usual time interval and I still only encountered 19, despite hearing the scream for a 20th. Still bizarre and I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding something about what happened

The level has a lot of disconnected navmesh and enemies can spawn out of bounds or in bounds but be unable to path to players
Another thing by the way is that if you get grabbed by a snatcher and there are actively enemies spawning, they can possibly spawn in snatcherdim out of bounds

there are some pieces that were only limited time available through some events
but there are also more rng drops than there are missions, so you will randomly miss out on a couple of them (3 iirc?)

There is an uplink cancel you can do to prevent the enemies from spawning infinitely, but it is not the intended method to beat the level. Basically get through the overload, start the first uplink, get it to the last code input, then wait for the 20 minutes to end before inputting the code.
Minor uncertainty, I don't know if you have to wait for the enemies to spawn in order to cancel their respective error alarms. You might be able to do it immediately or you'll have to wait to input the last code
you should know that the uplinks in the overload have NOTHING tied to them, they don't add any enemies
it's just more stuff to fit into the timer
Yeah, doing what I mentioned makes the 2nd uplink completely free because of that

Just came back to R1D1 for a friend and it just happened past the first alarm door
the room with 2 scouts
they complained a few times abotu it
not sure, I only got it for a microsecond but seems like my friend described it as listening to the game through a tin can or far away
and its only happening when scouts are involved
