since there is a teamscan on the error door, the first wave always spawns outside of the zone. use this to full send the entire first zone and kill all of it, having a pusher with scattergun. just full shoot all the rooms, save all the doors you want, and then return to terminal for resource pings and alarm.
if you're fast at terminal you can ping key + ammo at start while clearing zone as well, before the first error wave pulls up. but having someone defend the terminal user is still advised if you do this.

having all the doors and whole zone clear makes it a lot easier to play

then after alarm, you push to C as fast as possible to get spawnblock inside and then split 2-2 defense and looting

Does anyone have advice for prevented bots from going into melee
I play with a duo so we have two bots and its very common they will run into melee even during alarms with multiple enemies around them
We are struggling a bit with tanks on r4e1 as bots constanly go in for melee hits and die

the main thing would be playing at a greater distance, or where enemies are very close to you, you can either kill them all or get away ASAP

I think you might be able to use the secret terminal command that gets rid of your ammo(and bot's ammo) and do it that way, but I believe it rids tool ammo additionally which can be inconvenient

Have one guy running scatter (main dmg dealer, will play close to tank) and have the other person running wave clear, when tank spawns the wave clear guy can shoot tank to agro on wave clear guy allowing scatter to get an angle, bots should be on wave clear guy cuz they’re the one that’s (hopefully) far away from tank (as goat said preventing bots from meleeing is playing far away from enemies)

real talk though, weapons that either have some crazy burst damage or are very well rounded and can deal with many kinds of threats are generally the best weapons

sawed off, scatter, all hel weapons, hi cal, combat shotty, and pump shotty are all very strong weapons because of their versatility and (for some of them) their burst damage
