tanks are built to resist both types of forces. Currently in modern warfare both kinetic penetrators (aka shoot really fast heavy thing that goes through steel) and HEAT (High explosive anti tank) shells are used. HEAT generates a massive shockwave that propagates through the tank's armor and breaks chunks of armor into the inside of the tank killing everyone inside, starting fires, exploding shells, knocking the engine or other vital components

the tank would genuienly not stand a chance

a gtfo tank would maybe stand a chance against a pure kinetic penetrator if we assume it is made out of pure armor (which it probably isn't). However for gtfo tanks no matter how thick their armor is a shell would probably easily go through them and fuck up any internal organs.

also another thing the abrams has as a massive advantage is the 50 cal mounted that can also probably fuck up the legs of the tank in a matter of seconds.

I would honestly be surprised if the gtfo tank can even get within range of hitting tentacles on the real tank before it gets completely disintegrated.
