Interesting how different the opinions on loadout can be in this game. Here we have Veruta as bad and then I hop on YT, to check out the tier list from Profesor Scaler (who I heard is pretty knowledable ingame) and there Veruta is a A tier weapon 🙂

The veruta in that list is placed a bit too high (pinned comment should talk about it) but overall the veruta is imo placed a bit too high on the youtube one and a bit too low here.

The tierlists also have mildly different viewpoints on what they are for (aka what situation/player experience) with the one posted here more aimed at higher difficulty content where stuff like veruta does fall of noticeably

Overall, veruta is likely a C tier weapon. Arbalist being worse (poor thing)

In general:

boosters arent taken into consideration for level/game design or balance.

Boosters can range from actively negative (downsides like scan speed), to useless (glowstick power) to good or even game breaking (infection resist or bioscan speed for example).

They also make learning the game harder since getting a consistent feel for how to do smth can randomly change. (5% main dmg on dmr making it 1 shot smalls on a headshot vs needing 2 shots confusing beginners hard).

They are an accessability tool that just doesnt work too well with how its designed, but in the end if somebody feels stuck or wants to do a derpy booster run thats their choice to make.

Regarding Speedruns:

boosters are limited in use and in basically all speedruns it would end up being bioscan speed boosters.

So for every drop youd need max % bioscan speed on every player. This means players either have to farm for hours to get one or use mods/cheats to have them.

Plus after about 20-30 attempts youd need to refarm all over again

This adds a completely unfun gameplay loop so instead they are just banned from it

What instead happens is waves reference an existing datablock populated with everything in every field even if only some end up spawning. Also many alarms will re-use older alarms and or select different enemies that will spawn

Specifically, when the alarm goes to the bottom of the ladder adjacent to the door, we almost always wipe. It just feels like whether or not we can clear this alarm is pure RNG based on where the scan goes
