best load out for bots:
double tap rifle or burst assault rigle
burst cannon or techman veruta
one of the bots should have the bio tracker and the other burst sentry and/or mine deployer

its burst cannon > veruta its not close in terms of killing power
The thing with bots is that they are mediocre so the game with the can be more "fair", they really cant wake up anything even with shooting unless they are shooting longer than 2 seconds and their biotracker is 3 times better than players

i'll checkk out the videos, i used sniper because i can use it to kill the big guys and that one with the tentacles that alerts every enemy with alarm
bots are kinda broken sometimes because they are completely silent, of course they have their disedvantage but I like them more than some random people who are sprinting around and waking up everything xD

@outer swallow I’d recommend tripple sentry for B1 (ID mission), I forgot what’s viable for B2 but you can also run triple burst sentry
you need something else
there are a lot of weapons which can do that, like hel rifle or scattergun which are much better in using also against smaller enemies
Learn how to melee its head (if your using hammer it’s one tap head if knife and bat it’s to the back of the head)
yeah i tried looking for recommended loadout guides for certain mmissions but they dont have that on google so i just went with what made sense
sniper is only good for big guys
but the small will completely destroy you
use something that can deal with everything moderately
There’s two loadouts that are extremely overpowered so most people just takes those honestly
They rotate their movement like its fucking dead by daylight so i usually hiit side of their head or shoulder and they still alarm
and i cant even rush it cuz of charging animation
also you get around 20% primary weapon ammo and 30% special weapon ammo, so you need a special weapon where you gonna use more often than the primary one
you only have bots so youll need to be able to do everything yourself
Run whilst charging, makes them extend their feelers and you can melee them
Or run thru the feelers
id recommend something like combat shotgun, hel rifle, high cal, or shotgun
isnt touching their feelers gonna alert/
they can all wave clear better than sniper and can kill bigs well still

your main weapon is full auto and thus not really that good for killing
Their animations are a bit bad but other than that not really super laggy if ur not on a bad host/connection
anything that staggers in one trigger pull and isnt a shotgun is good for beginners usually
youd want a more high damage weapon to quickly kill them
single-shot main weapon is good for that especially if you can land a headshot
hel revolver has like 8 bullets and can kill a small with a headshot and a body shot
same with dmr
i think carbine needs 3 burst for bodyshot kill?
I think 1 head and 1 body but I haven't used the carbine for a very long time anymore

Team what's a "reasonable fast time" and a "reasonable slow time" for R3D1, the former can assume an experienced team and the latter like a first clear with a team new to the level

For a true blind time id say ~45 minutes
For an experienced team with prior knowledte reasonably fast is anywhere between 13 to 20 minutes depending on what you see as experienced and reasonable

Quick! You can swap the Tutorial in GTFO for ONE mission (can require sectors). All of the game will be locked for the player until he finishes that mission (1 player with 3 vanilla bots, player can pick tool/weapons for the whole team). Which map do you pick and why?
R3D1 (only a semi serious suggestion, but being able to do this mission is such a keystone for later stuff, bots do have moderate trouble with the stealth section after the Error)

R1B1. No pressure, lots of stealth, alarms to do, smalls, bigs, scouts, lots of terminal usage and is a pick your adventure mission. Basically the perfect tutorial sandbox

I think the like one you could ask me to turn off is a setting in the archive where I see what objective type something is if it’s already been carried, same but with sentries (I see if they’re hel auto or burst etc)
Well I think the archive has a setting that disambiguates the sentry type when you press tab right? Is that what you mean?
One of the only things I have enabled in all of the archives features is the L4D style resource packs

also on second scan you had them really clumped up at the beginning but rather than doing scan you just killed
meaning they would come from spawn sooner
vs you just go pladder and all enemies come down it
much easier to deal with enemies coming from a single side and you had that when second scan landed but didnt use it
also first scan was horribly messy

it's like simon says with these enemy npc, they all glow one after another, they rarely ever stop glowinig altogether, so when they do, i make best of it, then i see one of them glowinig out of nowhere and suddenly the horde is alerted
i wanna shoot them but i run out ofammo and sentry ammo
which is why i wanted to save it for alarms and escape
you can flashlight them all to sync their glowing
and that lvl has no extraction alarm

One thing every melee has is a shove attack
You use your right click to do that
Its another way to stagger and get around 50% charge with your melee (depending which one youre using) and it also stops others from waking up
What happens if I activate two door alarms at once? Does completing one deactivate the other or do all scans need to be completed before spawn waves stop? Are there independent spawn caps for each door alarm? I've already noticed that 2x alarms roughly doubles enemy spawn rates, but the waves don't seem much larger than normal
Max ammount of enemies is roughly 25
There are so instances that can deactivate the other Alarm aswell, for the example ending the uplink
But you have to Go Out of your way to do so since its rare for the Alarm to be Close to an uplink
Is it possible to complete the game by yourself with bots, or are there some levels in which this is a technical impossibility for some reason?
there are some levels which are super hard with 3 bots because sometimes you have to carry several items at the same time or 2 people has to do something on 2 different terminals something, or during reactor alarms, code hunting alone is much harder than with a second player or with 4 players
it is possible but super hard to be alone

Lately I've been playing some R4D1 with pubs
and I've noticed some people can see enemies way better than I could
No thermals, no pings (I was bio)
Do they crank up/down contrast or brightness?
I keep thinking some basic video option that I have on makes it way harder
I use my hearing a lot for detecting enemies, because it also helps a lot against shadows
but I also sometimes miss enemies because sometimes there are in a very dark corner or around a corner and hasn't made a single sound
There are no shadows in R4D1 afaik

but I cant shake off the feeling that either my game is too dark or someone has brightness way up
(which is okay, I dont mind)
But since I usually set brightness very low for games I'm wondering if I'm not shooting myself in the foot for that in GTFO
it is objectively an advantage to have a high(er) brightness in gtfo
however
it could also be your fog settings and shadow settings
your driver application can probably adjust brightness and contrast
with lower shadow detail and fog settings it obscures what is far away MUCH more effectively
Fog's on medium, Shadow res on VH and quality on H, SSAO on medium
forget about framerate and try maxing it out and see how it looks
or just good old increasing your monitor brightness
It's certanly slightly better
For some reason putting Anisotrophy on also helps
Yeah nah to ignore the darkness it really needs either Nvidia's details filter (which makes my GPU sound like a Jet) or manually pump up brightness/contrast and things like that

How does the c foam portion booster work exactly
more efficient when you charge
for example if you shoot 8 blobs without booster youll use up 8 ammo but if you have a booster you might only use up only 6 ammo

All the people that don’t need help are given more, and the ones struggling are given less and less every year they struggle more and more, and it creates a snowball effect where the money is being wasted for diminishing returns where it’s unneeded and the struggling are left behind with garbage
It’s effectively made some schools educational penal colonies where if a kid is struggling at a good school, instead of giving them help and attention they’ll try and send them off to a worse one so they don’t bring the scores down
All the troublesome kids are sent with all the other troublesome ones and the root issues of why they’re struggling can’t be addressed, only exacerbated

hel shotgun is a very strong crowd control weapon, so any time where are a lot of enemies at the same time, like on surge waves
if used correctly its great against enemies like moms for both damage and baby control, large groups of enemies being able to hit multiple at once. It has a fairly short range with a wide spread so the closer the the enemy, the better.

Does anyone know if hsu spawns are set? Like does every mission with an hsu objective have the exact same locations for hsu’s each time? I know the specific hsu you need is random each time
I just did an r3c1 run where the objective hsu in zone 17 didn’t appear to exist (or at least we spent all our resources looking for it after we pinged it and still couldn’t find it in zone C). I kinda want to find out where it was, if it isn’t randomly generated
Hsu spawns are set in a way where objective hsu spawns can be like 10-100 locations, some of these are weighted and may have a 1/10 chance even though there’s close to 20 hsu’s, the optimal hsu for R1A1 is a 1/1000 chance iirc ( @frail heart )
It’s randomly generated from a bunch of places, if you didn’t find it it was prolly obscured well, R3C1 has been known to cause issues considering it’s a error that scales up with time
So do hsu locations change from mission to mission (all hsu’s, not just the objective one)
They may since not all hsu spots will be taken
Let’s say a level has 100 available, 50 might only spawn
At least that’s how I’ve interpreted it
I actually have no clue on that part

R5C1 is the run that finally brought the Games total Any% Time below 17 hours (the last presumed Hour Barrier).
This Run could almost definetly go below 14 Minutes, as we made some strat changes in later runs (where we didnt get the same rng sadly and even had 1 run die to lag), such as 4 c-foam launchers and speeding up the early foaming by abo...
We are likely gonna beat this sometime soon. The resetting for cell was horrible (since you needed to do the full alarm and then check, as there was no term in starting zone)
Optimal strat is also 4 foam launchers
