there's a difference between silent shots and using doors to perform silent shorts

the former can just be done anywhere at any time

the latter, only while opening security/apex doors for the most consistency. weakdoors is hit or miss, but more consistent when the door is closing

silentshotfix only prevents the pure silent shots that are best done with macros

you shouldn't really need to rely on pure silent shots anyways in normal gameplay

among the bigger use cases I'd say of the door variant is when a Scout spawns directly behind a blood door like on R2E1, thats kinda nasty

The problem is two fold one is doors aren’t solid objects and have gaps in them. Two when a door is closed it turns off enemy detection.

You could just skip turning off enemy detection while door closes but I think some funny things start happening

Ie shots waking things up behind doors. You could make the door have the sound check be at the start of door animation rather the best probs fix

But it doesn’t fix the door gap issue

Door gap issue best solution is most likely just making them solid walls of collusion (zero clue why it wasn’t don’t like this already)

Its lit impossible to play solo without c foam

Cuz you just cannot do alarms fast enough and you have a quarter of your fire power

They rlly should've had scaling in GTFO cuz even if you are playing solo its still would have been hard just from pure game design

Cfoam is good if you have atleast a trip mine

Usually for like r1 in 1st missions is just better to use sentry and leave doors open unless you have a mine

But even then its still a hard job doing those alarms

Better guns = easier time, but not required
