ya if it's a bot solo you Q 1 and place burst sentry
currently setting it up, hel rifle since i've read some praise for it, deciding on a primary, the scanner didnt help so i'm bringing a turret, also hammer cause bat range was not enjoyable

i don't understand how necessary teamwork is in this game yet
so i'm going in raw until i understand what i'm dealing with

appropriate weapon choice for the level is a big thing, hel rifle in spite of being one of the best guns in the game will not serve you that well due to how cramped the tiles are
understand stealth (cuz it basically doesnt change in most cases, outside of giant solo)
learn how to giant solo or know that you can just shoot them most often
practice shooting (with the right guns) so you get good at it (dont force scans if you are going to take massive dmg for it, know how to reposition quickly while reloading, learn good shooting positions)
generally in most normal solos youll be running either burst sentry or mines
tho hel auto sentry can also do work IF and only IF you know how to use/place it

When does melee stamina cost apply? (already while charging, or when releasing the attack)
when releasing (or shoving)
it also depends on how much youve charged (no charge = no stam cost)
charging DOES stop stamina from regenerating tho (so if on high stamina you cant charge if you want it to reset down)

If you're really good at aiming HEL Revolver and DMR are good picks

If you know where to hold and how to do it HEL Shotgun works nicely
i think a blind dude could hit more shots than me

If you want to take a more "supportive" role, HEL Autopistol, but I'd avoid it if you dont trust your teammates to do the actual damage OR if you play with bots

their attacks are like a cone in front of them, if ur in the cone is hitscan
they attack in a "lock" pattern

sniper is useful sometimes for longer hallways and big enemies

auto is fine but with a few niches
Aside from surge alarms (dont worry about those yet), you can never go wrong on Burst Sentry

auto is the only sentry with back damage and penetrative rounds so if u for some reason wannaa play with it

a reactor is ultimately 3 parts,
1 Wave Defense
2 gathering resources in between
3 getting the code into the terminal in time
If you already know how R1C1's reactor works, then its just the first two things you need, and they can go hand in hand
the most popular place to defend for many reasons is the bridge tile. the hole in the wall at the south end is a great choke point where you can get angles and focus your sentries, the bridge itself is a perfect funnel if/as you fall back, and its only about a 30 second run to the reactor terminal.
when you start looting after the shooting, you have quite a lot of resources around you to spend as the code person runs out and runs back. and on longer warm up times for the later codes, you have enough time to run forward and loot in previous areas.
when giants spawn having someone with a good weapon for bigs like hel rifle is useful (especially for hybrids). as well as saving tool by only having 2 sentries down for most waves, saving it for later waves or the waves with Hybrids (4, 6, 8).
this is definitely a 3 sentry + 1 bio tracker level, and when you learn all sentries are not created equal.
Burst is the best all-arounder.
Sniper sentry thrives with bio tracking and the long sight lines on this level.
shot gun sentry is good for tight corners, but goes through tool a bit quickly so it is not well suited for reactors.
Autosentry is in the game.
if you have a bot, they are a boss with the biotracker so give them that, and if you have three bots god go with you.
I have a friend that uses vpn and this game seems to not like it. He couldn't drop with us while his vpn was on.
Of all the R1 levels, R1C1 is perhaps the hardest level to do with 3 bots

In my opinion, you should prioritize the mobs present and then you have a small grace period to get some scans done. Curious on other's thoughts tho

Bet everyones life on completion of scans - if they die they're skill issued, if you die then you can harras them when they get down or search for some bullets in your back(works everytime)

the norm that people take on blind runs is a bio, mines, foam, and a sentry. just swap out when you deem it necessary but you can get away with that loadout for any level really
the "regular" would be 1 biotracker + mine deployer + 1 sentry with 1 cfoam OR 2 sentries
but then you can also like, take 1 biotracker with 3 sentries and that is also very good

As a rule of thumb, if you dont have mines, dont take foam, and if you take 1 bio and 3 sentries, try to funnel enemies (as in, making them come from a single chokepoint), also, do not close every door, that'd just make the enemies come in a single big waves, you want them to trickle instead so they're easier to deal with.

It's pretty hard to get a clean entry -> melee bait -> stagger shot without taking a tongue unless tank decides to stand exceptionally close to your cover
So your goal is generally to just take one tongue every time

r2e1 if you have it unlocked has a scout in the first zone
if not r1a1 has 2 scouts in the zone behind the class 2 alarm so that should also work

r4e1 falls apart when you know the strats and map, far more so than r5e1 i think
But it might be just that r2e1 has the hardest part in the end vs r5e1 having the hardest part (imho) in the beginning

r2e1 the only real hard part is the 1st surge post error, which if you have fog repellers and hel auto sentry its rlly not even that bad (hell even 2 burst sentries can deal with most of the surge)
first e-tiers always the hardest at that point

did you limite your fps perhaps? lower down your graphics or remove backround apps to check if the fps is still low
limited it to 60 turned down what i could and have nearly nothing installed
turn off v-sync and set your fps to unlimited

In the matchmaking instructions I see stuff about main, secondary, and overload. What exactly are those?
Main is the main objective of the level. Overlord and secondary are side objectives that can be self contained or effect the rest of the level in different ways
They don't show up till like r4 and above
If a level has all 3. Doing them all in one run is called prisoner efficiency

So me and my group played r6cx recently, and while we were doing the uplink before the destination my internet died and I dc’d, then rejoined once they were in the destination, and then we played the level from there.
While in the destination we had most of the strikers get stuck somewhere at the bottom taking up the spawn cap, and when we got out there was a single awake striker from somewhere.
After we beat the level, we got the biotracker achievement. I can guarantee we didn’t biotrack everything, so any guesses as to why that happened?
I would guess it had something to do with me dc’ing

Depends also on what problems you are having and how much work you want bots to do.
Burst Rifle + BC might be a good balance.
I'll try that out, i attempt solo while my friend isn't around. we made it to wave 10 on duo with bots then died. it was heartbreaking
too much anxiety to try and join a group i think
r2d2 with 3 bots is suffering
take into account bots will deal friendly fire more when in a duo

r1c1 solo with bots is quite hard i think, i failed like 3 times then gave up
when i tried again with a team it was easy claps no problem
i think the big issue for me is i feel like properly dragging enemies without taking dmg is super unintuitive in this game. watching vids of t-nenpi solo i hav no idea how hes avoiding damage so easily

you step to the side and enemies more often than not miss you
it also helps if you can control the situation and keep the chaos down to a minimum
Move to the side, hide behind an object (note that if said object has holes in it might not protect you), move past the enemy, or stagger/kill the enemy about to lick you. Those are the main ways of avoiding dmg. The 1st one is prolly what your talking about, basically when an enemy lick animation starts its like a rlly long corridor they can lick you from, so rather than creating distance, moving asides from that corridor is how you avoid dmg
Striker tongues extend infinitely in a narrow corridor
so if you leave the corridor, you dodge the attack

Honest advice: drop into a level and wake up 1 striker, try to avoid its attack by moving as little as possible.
Repeat with 2, 3 etc.
(Will note that crawling and walking strikers have different wind-up speeds, so watch out for that)

hey, GTFO noob here, my group just completed rundown 1. i'm looking at the lore and stuff from r1 to make sure i didnt miss anything, and some of the rundowns have "ALT" before them. what does that mean? or is it spoilers and i'll find out later

The game originally ran where old rundowns got removed as the next rundown released. These were the original/OG rundowns.
Starting after Rundown 7, they refurbished the old rundowns (R1-R6) and brought them into the current version of the game. These revamped rundowns are the ALT rundowns.
They have a slightly diverging storyline that has differing details, and that's about all that needs to be said until later.
