#gtfo-media message I dont have a fancy Console, so i tested it with replay wiever. I shot one Hel pp bullet at him right as he was about to gobble me up. It dealt 7.5 stagger damage even though the bullet itself dealt 1.5 damage. The hel pp 5x multiplier did get applied

silent shooting is a bug in the game where quickly switching between items that can't shoot causes a client to shoot without making sound
This is not an oversight or a bug - pouncers require 50 stagger damage not 40 => it takes 7 hel pp shots to stagger

From testings snatchers simply ignore stagger multis
and stagger at 40 dmg
this is easily tested since 2 hammers, a sniper shot, 5 hel revo shots etc stagger

ye u right - I was using a sleeping snatcher to test since it was easier - but when awake the behaviour is consistent to what u say π
replay recorder doesnt treat snatchers in any special way so it is indeed an oversight π

From my personal experience I'm glad snatchers aren't used a lot since they look silly, they attack silly, and they tank silly. They also have silly bugs.

The scariest kraken attack is its worst one (red homing ones)
Its just hiding or dodging weirdly
make it barrage a lot more. So its active bullet hell
Timer never gets anyone killed since people just feel the time rush anyway and reactor is logically lenient since it's a timesink by design

how does one deal with the charger alarm on r3c1? i lost the run after opening the door to the zone with the HSU when like 36 chargers and a feeler caved my skull in
for weapon context i was using hel rifle since 30-damage gun into 30-health enemy seemed intelligent, but like ten seconds into opening the door the pack of chargers on the other side alerted and pissed off the feeler so the entire complex punched me in the head until i stopped moving. it was just so many guys
you just want to clear the zone as fast as possible
it's kinda rough but you want to find and shoot the scout asap
if the scout does wake up, you can try to hole up in a room and mine the door
with 3 bots it can be kinda rough
so you might want to give them anti-charger weapons (hi cal, choke mod, shotgun) if they're dying quick
other than that, there's not much strategy besides just shooting the bad guys before they can hit you
r3c1 has two zones where the hsu can spawn in
one is significantly easier than the other
so you can roll for that one instead if you want the level clear
what would you say are the easier learning curve top-tier weapons to get into? I did most of my first runthrough of the game with carbine/combat shotgun but would like to try experimenting more with the higher skill ceiling stuff

Uhhhhhhhh not sure, time to spread misinformation. It'll do less damage than 1x
same as any other enemy, but they have a tiny head and tumour gives you precision multi
nightmare scouts have armoured bodies, so damage reduction if you don't hit tumour

Sawed-Off High-Cal or HEL Shotgun High-Cal
Pump shotgun and Combat Shotgun are also both really solid.
Probably play Carbine or HEL Revo w/
I'd say Carbine/HiCal is perhaps the harder to fuck up

so im still taking stealth a bit cautiously due to using three bots, and its making a lot of missions much longer than what feels reasonable. an example is the fog room in r3c1 which took me like 20 minutes, and i really dont want to stealth that room again. is there merit to just saying "fuck this im shooting this room up" sometimes or is that a bad behavior to learn since the reason for shooting the room is that i kinda feel like it and its willingly draining resources?

Pulling rooms (aka shooting them up) is a completely valid strategy
Although in some cases you might just wanna go in and melee all the enemies (by just walking or running up to them) especially as bots will shoot anything too dangerous to melee

On a more serious note, in R3C1, just pull the rooms with fog in it.
Of course if there's a scout pull them by HEL Rifling, or whatever you prefer, the Scout
or just do a chad move and pull the scout too
With R3C1 I'd say that if you arrive at error badly put on resources, you're doing (or you did) something very wrong

There's 3 rooms on path with fog in, half of one is outside the fog
Then there's another side room in the fog that could have resources
So 3.5 rooms really
I usually only get in that side room if there's a scout because I'm afraid of chargers spawning inside there when I go back (even if it's VERY improbable).
yeah my issue was that when i got deep enough i had to stealth past like three bigs and a couple smalls and i know from experience that bigs have an insane kill rate out of stealth, they just start swinging and all the bots die cause theyre bots. the room immediately after had a feeler and like ten smalls so that took forever to sync up. it sucked it just sucked
and i have been aware of the silent bot thing for a while, i will try just blasting into the room next time
The main issue in that case is that you're gonna have to go back rushing
So you kinda NEED to clear those rooms no matter what
practice meleeing giants with bots, if i do it well they usually don't get hit

it's a two tap in small enemies, stagger keeps them in place, hel goes through enemies, large cone means u hit several with oneshot, large mag to keep the entire wave in place
No you shoot the mom and kill the babies through mom
it is an EXTREMELY good weapon for crowds
oh for babies you pace your clicks and kill most of everything

Out of curiosity, how does lore work in the game? I know the yellow excursions mean thereβs lore in the mission, but I was curious if any other effort is needed due to the nature of the game (still in rundown 1 lol)
There's a lot of worldbuilding and background info given through terminal logs which are dispersed throughought nearly every mission
There are some direct story elements that you're forced to interact with in R7 and R8, and additionally some story elements during gameplay in ALT R6 that are possible to miss
most of the lore are in logs
after Rundown 6 the lore starts to be more "obvious"
and the yellow missions are lore focused

They focus more on the story of the actual events in the game
generally they contain direct story elements
Some have dialogue other are telling The story by environments
R6 tells the story through the warps to Destination
The MWP, etc
used to be more direct story elements in R6 but then WHOOPS! THEY ALL GOT DELETED IN ALT R6

ive got like a full 1 second delay whenever i hit stuff in the matches i play so i need to get used to it
It is calculated in host-side, so yeah high latency makes you harder to swim among sleepers
Has anyone ever bugged a mission necessary terminal on r2c1 so that the team had to kill themselves and restart. My team somehow managed to do that last night.
depends on the bug cause if it is something like the terminal screen freezes, there's desync and that person if they leave it fixes it
unless it's the host and then it's just fucked up forever

nointerruptions is a mod that fixes the terminal freeze thing
everyone just step back and let the terminal reset back to sleep -> booyah.

Killing ourselves with land mines did the trick
It wouldn't reset so we opted for team suicide and it worked
im not sure if im going to consider completely redoing the level a "working" solution

It was that or disband and rejoin. Those were the ideas we came up with so we chose the quickest route

2 days ago I have a R8E2 run failed at extraction scan because the host got grabbed into the void π
like slendi mentioned you couldve tried host migration (just have host leave and hope the rollback fixes the terminal)

Oh, we did try let the host leave and triggered the migration. After migration the level simply can't progress, it prompts to call the other team but can't interact with the comms anymore

I charge into hordes with the scattergun specifically to kill the biggins
I either instantly die or somehow survive and run around in the middle of the horde like a headless chicken after using the emergency put er down device.
i always go for funny silly guns so i barely pick scattergun ever unless i see we might need it

Id say alarm first so you dont have to deal with them coming from the non alarm

ye I have tried a few times pulling alarm immediately and got fairly overwhelmed other than the one time I brought c-foam, but then there were too many shooters piled up together and every time I peeked I got gatling gunned

if u go for alarm first they have room only to spawn from extract, but if u open the other door they have space
I'll try clearing deeper and see how it goes

i would way more recommend burst over sniper cause it's way more flexible

if u push spawns u can have a door to mine
they only do because theres no other choice unless you open up the non alarm one
plus mines for pulling the giant zone are very useful
and u don't need to do any class III

I mean maybe it's 2 room distance playing funny so they spawned in extract room

Hey can you manipulate spawn in r1c1 by holding back until you hear the scream and then spread them apart by entering the room immediately in front of you

then it disappeared from the game a little bit
and when it came back it had all sorts of nerfs- cause it was stupidly strong before
but also that meant it generally sucked now and it never escaped that
despite being buffed several times after that
it's still the weak sentry
It counted pellets, not rounds
