Primarily the movespeed while charging
Poor damage breakpoints, it cripples your movement
Sprint speed while charging is 0.75 or 3/4s your actual sprint speed compared to other melees

i have a question about enemy spawning
typically, active enemies always spawn 2 rooms away from you (though extraction room is always a valid spawnpoint for enemies). think alarms and scout waves. reactors have their own weird spawn mechanics but ignore those for now.
uplinks are different though. specifically in r2c1, while doing the uplink in 206B, we have had enemies spawn in 206D, break the door, and end the run (because we didn't expect it, playing duos, and being tired) These rooms are adjacent.
so how do uplink spawns work?
they follow the same rules but one more rule is added : they always spawn in your zone
even if said zone is 2 rooms big
uplinks enemies spawn enemies within the same zone, and if then can with the two room rule as per usual
then they will spawn in the room next to the uplink terminal
but they NEED to spawn in the same zone

(regular) uplinks will always spawn enemies in the same zone
if possible, enemies will be spawned 2 rooms away from you
if not, they can spawn 1 room away
there's minimal exceptions to that rule but well that's how it basically always is
as with all wave spawns, random

theoretically, if one player where to move themselves to 206D, since both A and C are both available would this spawnblock D

nah some zones can have spawns coming from two directions

so if u get 20 and 20 it's the same as one player having 40, i believe that's how it works
feel like if it was multiplicative per players u could just break a lot of levels
cause two people with aggressive boosters would fuck shit up

so to explain- back damage isn't a 0-100 mechanic
the damage scales with the angle, if u hit from the side it will lose damage, and the more u hit it square in the back it will do full damage
so ur friend shot it from what it seemed like the back, but it was some degrees off and it didn't die

and felt desync along the entire run
iirc cscouts are facing a bit to the side by default so if you add that to your friend being a bit to the side too then that was probably the issue
u just need to be like straight in the back for any 30 dmg weapon cause it's the exact dmg to oneshot
a little too much to the sides and u just won't kill it
that or u just have chokemod and instead just do all 4 shells in 0.6 milliseconds to assure it dies

Always end up getting wiped after the error alarm door while carrying the neonate, turbine and cell 🥲
It depends which part specifically you're having trouble with

you can try not carrying cell and instead making a stop at the terminal to ping the cell in zone 602
moving fast is key so having two players available for shooting (probably biotracker and mine deployer to mine doors behind you) could help
you should be able to get through the first room in 602 before first wave reaches you, and can then mine that door
if possible try to save a set of fog repellers from the starting zone for the surge alarm in 602 too
if you wipe due to error before the first surge, then your 4th person (bio) who doesnt carry anything needs to step up with handling the small error
If its the surge or after it depends on what you struggle with (but after that surge you also should ditch the turbine)
Searching first error zone cell honestly isnt worth it
Big zone with big rooms. The time spend getting it can just be spent on moving cell
just memorise the spawnpoints there are like 5 or something, and at least 2 are on route to alarm door anyways
just seeing the ping even from like 3 rooms away should be enough to know exact location
how do you manage to not get enemies to spawn in front of you in r2e1 error alarm, wiped like twice cause they spawn ahead and break all doors before we even get to them(at the last surge)
You cant influence whether they spawn ahead or not (well unless you reach the last 2 rooms) but you can play around it

Thanks for the tips! I don't think think we made it to the surge door yet after the error alarm. It's usually error alarm -> clean wave + the room -> move onto the next room and then get wiped
and then you get an early cell
And slow down to ping
carrying that cell is simple and since the error isnt even remotely ramped a single person can deal with it and mild rooms. And if a room is packed you can just drop items

We didn't pull it off successfully, but someone who played with us tried to do it. Seems like a decent tactic to save ammo

Mining the terminal room door for surge alarm seemed to help a good bit if we got good enemy spawns.
Using ladderfoam on r2e1 basically invalidates 80% of the level

If you don't your teammates have nice things to say every time
The mine itself only rly helps if you get rly bad scan there and full spawns there
Doing that first surge without any tools is generally the best way. Its slightly harder but still very very free
I gotta say as a semi religious mine deployer player you dint always want to bring mines

sniper yes. The weapons high pick rate (which is pretty much confirmed to be the reason for its nerf) comes from sniper being the most well known archetype in shooters. Its simple and clear cut

I disagree. Lots of good weapons are good of the get go if you are capable of hitting any shots. High caliber pistol, pistol, rifle all dont need insane aim but are good beginner and general choices
The aboslute top guns might (scatter, hel gun etc) but they also are only a part of it

sniper is better than given credit for
it sucks against literally anything that isn't giants/hybrids but it's very very rare the sniper kill rate on those is too low to keep up (assuming you don't miss) so it does it's job well enough. it only lacks in versatility really
when duoing we took sniper for r2d2 where we could not make it work with either burst cannon or hel rifle (likely a skill issue), but we took burst cannon + hel rifle on r5b1 pe duo which worked well enough
tldr sniper is good at what it does and methinks it can be better than burst cannon and sucks inn all other scenarios. it's weakness is its limitations and aim requirement to actually be good
But for now it gives me anxiety if I feel like I'm not gonna preform immaculately
