I just wanted to test all the weapons in the game, but it seems like you are about to test it only in the fight on a real expedition
Not that i know of. Maybe a mod somewhere, but i imagine the installation process will take longer than just testing it in-game

This is none of my business, but if I would really recommend skipping R2E1 for now. That level is of a different difficulty than what you've done so far, and you'll have a much better time doing R3 first ^^
The rundowns were not meant to be played ''in order'', if that makes sense. The difficulty level can scale up exponentially fast, so even if you've completed previous levels in a rundown doesn't mean you'll be able to complete an E level. There are too many players that end up quitting just because they want to do rundowns in order and end up frustrated on R2E1. Its the first ''difficult'' level in the game.
for real, i'm finally going back for it and man i do not miss attempting it
i think it'll go a lot better having gotten the experience of levels but god damn did those original attempts not go well, with the current attempts going a lot better even if i'm still not really a fan of the level
I think r2d2 is also a pretty big kick in the nuts for ppl
though it tests fundamentals a lot more/better than r2e1
Its just a lot easier to carry people through R2D2 than R2E1, so beginners are much more likely to find a carry. R2D2 doesn't really test fundamentals imo, just the team's ability to shoot properly (which can be done by 2 people and a few sentries) and manage sentries. Whereas, in R2E1, people actually have to carry their weight for that ending.

You need 2 ''good'' players to carry a beginner R2E1 team, and the odds of finding that in LFG are crazy low. Unless you have connections ofc
I guess my point is that they won't easily be able to find a team to carry them through R2E1, even though it won't be crazy hard to find one for R2D2. Both levels will feel hard, but for the beginner R2D2 will feel difficult but doable whereas R2E1 will just feel impossible

R2D2 is "easier to carry" because if you know where to go and what to do, the timers aren't an issue, which means more resources which means an easier time. Many people who attempt it the first times have 0 clue about all of that shit and do the waves in shit places.

i think most people use lfg na/euw/beginner. either way if youre fine with latency you can join lfg from other regions. LFG is definitely more dead at some times than at others, usually more people around during NA hours I think.

hel gun with a headshot kills any small enemy, its one of the more flexible weapons in all of the game so it can be used on almost every single mission and it would do fine; it can be spammable for wave control and for killing giants and it has a very very fast reload
hel rifle its a way more damaging weapon, which oneshots any small with a bodyshot, it was a more lengthy reload and a smaller firerate and reload cause of it, but it can be very very useful on missions with chargers due to the dmg and the range of it
both have pen so they benefit from linin enemies up
in shorter terms, hel guns much more flexible and hel rifles more damaging and effective with chargers
it would be a tad way too powerful
considerin its ammo refill and the firerate and reload
what’s a good secondary for tons of trash clear when combined with the hel autopistol

Is there any easy way to deal with giants with the knife? I can't seem to stagger that much with it and it ends up kicking me in the face and dealing half of the hp
Stay at back, limb breaks x 4
Well if applicable. Stealth back of head first
Limb break staggered for a longer duration ( you can't really stagger a giant through damage using a knife anyway)
After destroying the head. Stay to the giants back and go for limbs. If done correctly. The giant's limbs should break
Stealth back to the head, then 2 stabs for each limbs should break it. Usually 2 more stabs after 4th limbs break would kill the giant
it is NOT easy though, there's a lot of jankiness with it because of how certain damage multipliers work
it's really not the hitbox at all
it's how the backstabber multi works
at least for doing it like that
if you're doing 2 hits per limb then it's probably fine-ish
no it is the hitbox, if the limb doesnt break its because you didnt hit it

when they do the turnaround stagger anim it gets almost impossible to get both multis
i had no issues with the hitbox when doing it earlier
i only had issues with the multipliers
the only issue i sometimes had with the hitbox was sometimes i'd hit an arm instead of the leg i was aiming for

well, while I believe you, I can tell you from testing knife before backstab multi was a thing that if the hitbox WAS good then it wouldnt matter

and its not like you cant still hit twice rn

so at the end of the spinny stagger you straight up can't get both

it would sometimes hit the arm that was right next to the leg i was aiming at, but never did i have something not break because the knife's hitbox was weird
yeah you can get used to it and play around it, but that doesn't change the fact that it's kinda bad in the first place
I guess it's a similar thing for old tank hitbox, yeah it was a bit wonky but it was consistent and you could learn it - which is why I found it funny that people made mods to change it because it wasn't inherently unfair in how it worked

it's kinda wonky in other places, i don't like hitting a wall right next to me when i'm trying to stab a striker in front of me for ex

but for specifically the giant stuff i had absolutely no issues

tbh id just recommend more variety, one hel shotty one autopiss two of whatever and the the specials that are most appropiate

I hate using the pdw, i like the heavy smg better
But it makes it easier to spot the shadows
one person with PDW should be enough
then it can comunicate the position of the shadows
the person with the bio should also be communicating that
u shouldnt depend of one gun to carry u through an enemy, u should expect ur team to help u
or even urself with ur flashlight
most of the zones in the shadow zone are very very dark

I think most the problem here will be coming from inexperience and not weapon picks
You can absolutely hold a surge alarm with pdws
not even like pdw machineguns are great for holdin surges

how dose bio scan speed stack with boosters and number of players in a scan?
for a large red scan how much faster is it with 1 player 2, 3, and 4?
for a scan speed booster it says 10% faster but is that the player scans at 110% or the scan only needs to go to 90%?

A big red scan takes 20 secs with 1 player in it, 8.33 with 2, ~7 with 3, and 6.66 with all 4
Idk the correct answer for bioscan speed boosters, but scans will always need to reach 100% completion
so each player in a scan adds 100% to the speed?
0 players scan speed is 0%
1 players scans speed is 100% ~ 20s
2 players scan speed is 200% ~ 10s
3 players scan speed is 300% ~ 6.66s
4 players scan speed is 400% ~ 5s

im just going to make the assumption that the boosters are and add onto the players scan speed. if one players had a 10% then it would look something like this

but its been a while since we've taken boosters

occiput its just the back and head multipliers together

Chargers don't have a head by the game's logic. For them its just a random limb that explodes and that's that. So don't even bother aiming for their heads period - just go for the fat belly.
what other regions ping is not too bad from SEA
how exactly do sentries choose targets? Do they all target the current closest? And if the closest enemy is constantly changing, does it just never shoot because it's always reacquiring targets? particularly with sniper sentries. I'm wondering if there's a way to place it so it mostly shoots at slow moving giants instead of overkilling smalls
it should lock onto the first enemy it sees, and then fire at that
if the first enemy it locks onto leaves the sentry range/sightline then it'll go onto the next target
presumaly next target is the closest?

sounds like the only way to have them focus on giants is to point it where the smalls outrun the giants and leave them behind to be targeted

scatterguns very very effective on it, sniper too now so any of the two
and if u have it unlocked r8||a2|| its the easiest way, otherwise i believe r3d1 should not give u too much problem and u should be able to get to it fairly quick
can also have team bring 2-3 machine guns and just spray death on babies as they spawn

well if its a dark room u can shine ur light on em, mainly form ur weapons cause its usually the strongest one, maybe have a
even to see better and see each one and take em as usual

and if i dont have thermal i pray

tbf since R8 things seem to have gotten quite a bit worse imo. Checkpoint doors slower for client, terminals locking us out, dead enemy bio pings, cfoam going through the doors, bulkhead controller lockout, stuck waves, mines blowing up before the door breaks and not breaking the door...
Honestly interested in what kinda bugs that break the game you get all the time

Tbh the big issue this game has is desync stuff
A lot of these aren't new bugs I know, but they seem to be more frequent now
and when we try to switch host it fucks things up entirely
also I've been kicked to rundown screen without warning a few times now
might have happened once before R8, 3 or 4 times since
the only real gamebreaking bugs are sound bug (oof) and memory leak
might be steam maintenance sometimes though not sure
Networking issues, host migration is fucked. Enemies getting stuck, causing infinite combat and running us out of stamina (more just annoying), bots are the worst thing in all of existence, checkpoints are still horrible and cause so many issues. Graphical bugs, such as the whole world not rendering, or the big black spot making it so you can't see anything. Sometimes you just get sent to the main menu mid-game, which is just game over as host. Terminals sometimes just dont work and we need to restart. Also map softlocks due to geometry, but thats just a map design issue. Loads of other non game breaking stuff, but that's the worst of it

I deleted GTFO already, the only things i had left to do are some achievements and i just don't have the patience anymore, or rather GTFO just stunlocks all others things i want to do, so i put it into hydrostatsis for the time being. Maybe i'll comeback like 2 years from now, finish them logs.

Yeah, GTFO was genuinely just too much of an experimental wall-throwing project. They tried different things, saw first hand what community thinks of this or that. If GTFO 2 ever gets to become a thing i do hope they'll actually like have a plan in place.

Yea agreed. The "random bullshit go" approach is fine in early stages to try and get a good idea of what you're trying to do. But them still doing it on the final rundowns of the game is idiotic.
Rundown 8 was pretty good, all things considered. Cool tilesets, cool objectives.
The "story" made exactly 0 sense though, its been a long time i've seen a story this ravaged by incoherency.

Well I don't think anyone can make a perfect game on their first try, and I enjoyed my time with GTFO. Hopefully they learn from their (many) mistakes when making DoW and give us something that matches GTFO's great game design, while also being functional.
Yet Dark Souls did it better, so... Its just a botched job, really. An occasional log there and there was very cool to listen to, particularly the UN DayLight mission logs, but literally none of it goes anywhere. The events of R8 feel rushed no matter how i look at it.
R8 IMHO proves that, if they could redo sectors, they vvery probably would for some map, and make them an either/or scenario instead of having you do an extra objective together with Main
