In overload, the first two sequences are not error alarms, but the third one is. The first two often feel like error alarms because a huge spawn queue builds up during the sequence, but they will stop spawning once the queue clears. You can shorten the queue dramatically if you don't input the secondary command until you're en route to extraction after overload.

A bit earlier in the level, when you enter the command to request access to the server farm, you can choose to unlock server farm [1] or [2]. [1] is Main, and [2] is Overload. I've never actually gone in Main, so I can't say for sure what's in there. Presumably it's similar to Overload but easier. I would say "big white room with lots of terminals" is an accurate description of the central terminal room in Overload.

Everything I told you up to this point, was for Overload. But if you were doing an uplink, then you were doing Main instead, which is apparently quite a bit easier.
So if you end up running R7D1 or R8C1 Overload (server farm 2), then my advice is still valid. Otherwise, forget it.

Hey everybody is there a way to fix the reloading issue in GTFO sometimes when me and my friends try to reload we usually have to switch something else to make the gun reload
@rotund remnant Your guns should definitely reload when you reload them.
Are you:
- Having guns reload one too few bullets? (This is a fairly common bug, especially on certain weapons)
- Switching too soon and cancelling your reload (you have to wait for the ammo count to update on the HUD before you can swap away)
If you're not doing either of those and your guns aren't reloading when you reload them, then something is very strange
@native sun oh no what happens is me one of my friends will be shooting and we'll try to reload and even though I'm pressing the button I have mapped to reload it won't do it until I switch to another weapon or tool then switch back
For example I use the Hel auto pistol and I have 30 bullets left in my gun but then I want to reload it halfway to be ready for a wave but for some reason it won't let me sometimes

That's very weird. Might be worth checking the key you have bound to reload and making sure it works properly, or change what key it is bound to and see if you still get the issue.
Perhaps you're on a keyboard that doesn't support many simultaneous inputs? Does it occur if you have nothing else pressed? Always happens when you have a few movement keys pressed?
I've heard of some keyboards that advertise n-key rollover (as many simultaneous inputs as you want), but that will fail on very specific combinations

@native sun well that's the thing three out of four of us use controllers and I turn Steam input off so that way things would be complicated because when I had it on it would somehow stop the functions of one of my buttons on my controller and it would happen randomly like one minute I'll be able to use items then I couldn't anymore but I do you use the keyboard when I have to interact with a terminal

I'd still say try rebinding it and see if it still happens, if not, I've never played the game with controller so my experience runs thin, but good luck with it!

I'm a guy who used to play back when it was brand new, left, and though I find the bots charming- they can't get me past R1C2 and quite frankly I'm tired of wasting my time with bots. I'd like some real, fun-enjoying players, y'know?

if u mean like r4/5 c levels no they're way way easier
r4 and especially 5 levels are generally significantly harder than r6

There's no player relevant story in r1-r5 now. But world building logs are found everywhere in every rundown

Walk 3-5m left or right to avoid its attack. Its attack doesn't have a large turning radius

Strikers have a long range forwards but a short range sideways s osimple strafing works

I cannot explain the striker hitting you when it is not facing you if you are far away from it. But if you were close, they can still hit you even when they're looking a different direction. If so, you can try to stagger with a weapon or melee shove

@grand prawn This sounds just like regular ping issues. Note that enemy attack checks are performed by the host, and host gets updates of your position slightly late. You also see where the Striker is according to updates from the host, which means the position you have for the Striker is slightly late. The two effects compound.
The Striker basically has double your ping worth of advantage. So if you have a ping of 200ms, it'll use your position from 400ms ago. You can move very far in 400ms.

you can have multiple people hit them at once, or just kill the other ones while they are waking up
you have a decent amount of time before they fully wake up and scream
is there some way to judge whether or not they're in hearing range of a stealth kill
also enemies while glowin can detect from medium far distances, 3 2 meters, so make sure if u got like a lil ball that everyones not glowin while u hit one
when they are about, idk half a meter from eachother, they have to be pretty close
and yeah u can always try to kill the one u woke up

ah on stuff shooters are a bit weaker on the head but have more hp, so bodyshots with melees usually dont work unless its the hammer from the back
shooters do 5 dmg with their projectiles, tongue bois 12
and uh shooters tend to be more, in the backline of enemies, but if u run at em and strafe as u see their projectiles they are not hard to kill while aggroed

constant as in enemies keep spawning incredibly rapidly or just normal waves that keep going

Every enemy in the game that can be killed can be solod
Issue is when other factors come together.
Potentially a lot of levels are soloable if you perfectly long kite on end.
Issue comes with super long S-scans since you cant long kite away from them.
So you need to either spawn cap smth that wont kill you (shooter bug + shooters) or spawn cap doorbug. (Or with mom birth even)
Generally long kiting is done a lot in later solos

Simply put, if you use height, they will perceive the cliff as an obstacle.

It might be helpful to watch some other players and how they handle alarms
Other than just shooting, you can see how they manage positioning and deciding when to leave the scan to clear enemies, things like that
i watch a lot of videos of somebody "blablablaftw2". He is a player who can solo pretty much any level.
You don't need to watch the really difficult ones that might require kiting, just watching simple ones like a and b levels can help a lot

back damage is based off orientation
if ur more to the side you'll do less back damage
thats because youre not hitting the back
max damage is more lenient than just directly behind

Your connection to host has high latency.
You start missing packets if things go south and then you get weird stuff
Like when people see enemies 100% stuck, not moving and alive instead of dead during reactors
Or getting orange hitmarks on Scouts but they dont get killed
It can also be from a lack of syncing being done when it should be

1 bio, 1 mine, 2 sentries; melee error waves, shoot during alarm doors, funnel the enemies from spawn up the stairs along the cat walk, place both or one sentry on the catwalk and towards the door you found cell and fog turbine(s) [there is two, and make sure you check for resources as always], clear the wave before going into the fog; don't stay in the fog, just go straight up the stairs after class 2 alarm door, use disinfection station; do blood doors and find IDs and resources; go back into the fog to find the remaining IDs or go to the blood door (requires key) on the west side near where you dropped down; make sure you have ammo once you pick up the last ID, return to extraction

Texture quality improves DMR scope and some others (or rather: DMR and others have their scopes before worse as your texture quality goes down - becoming dirtier and more pixelated)
turn off bloom, depth of field , decrease motion blur to zero and some others settings next to them that adds visual effects to the game

For R2C2, jykelly: know where to go, open the door in front at the start and bolt to the zone with fog turb+cell, ping both, get both, of that zone, leave the door on the far end open and the other closed so they take the slightly longer route, keep the other doors closed, do the alarm, then hold the left, keep the doors you find open and do the other alarm.
Upstairs there's a dis station which basically means free disinfection for everyone, open the blood door and get the key. Now, if you're lucky, with the IDs from those 3 zones you opened you should be just missing 1-2, those you can find in the zone that requires the key at the start of the map. Check on a terminal. If you're unlucky you need to also open another zone, which is also a blood door and needs a cell. Terminal for the fog zone (the one after the first alarm) is on the left side of the last room, you should see it easily.

Remember, the error waves are piss easy if you have 3 guys who are decent at melee you can have them all defend from the error waves

we have greatly improved matchmaking with rundown 8 release in December and have seen a significant increase in people finding matches.
but if you don't mind taking a little extra time and effort, you will generally find higher quality matches via discord

Hey, quick Q: What are the appropriate places and situations to use the HEL sentry? Is it any good?
My group and I run the Burst and Sniper, and we are unsure if the HEL sentry is underperforming or if we are just not good with it
Hel sentry is generally an inferior version of burst sentry.
It can keep more things away from you under ideal conditions at the expense of a ton of ammo
The ideal condition being that enemies will follow a very predictable straight line towards you, so it can penetrate and apply stagger to several at once
It is better against chargers, i guess.
But then you'd probably want to take sniper if you have room or shotgun if you don't
Take HEL if:
You are sure that enemies will line themselves up infront of the sentry
You have plenty of tool refill to spare
And/or If enemies spawn back quickly or really close to you so killing them doesn't do much
I still strongly believe that HELs fire rate should be nerfed
Because that would end up being a buff
btw, just saying
youd rather want a kill sentry if enemys spawn back immediatly (if that spawn point is far enough away, see r2e1 as a good example)
auto sentry is good for close up spawns tho for sure in such cases

The most useful thing to use stats for is getting a feel for how your gun kills
Do you need 4 or 7 bullets, how many headshots etc. so you don't overkill and can judge when something's about to die easily

You can use it, but for some reason the targeting on it is wonky. It also wastes a ton of tool because it fires at dead bodies, its supposed to be this close quarters sentry but most maps that have closed spaces also have doors… so you may as well just use cfoam mine.
