go to user settings >> voice and video >> set soundboard volume all the way down. now you won't hear the soundboard sonds when someone joins, or if they play them while in the vc

how does getting boosters from expeditions exactly work? i get the basic idea of picking up the artifacts but, what has booster artificial heat got do with expeditions?
you get a booster for reaching 1.00 progression from grabbing artifacts. a lower artifact heat means that each artifact you grab contributes less
artifact heat goes down from grabbing boosters in a mission /replaying it to prevent spamming 1 level to farm them, and will go up naturally again by playing other levels
The default progress is something like +0.17 or +0.20 per artifact, i think?
So you need to find like 5-6 in a row to get a new booster
Which is also why agressives are such gold

It is seriously long range and it does something that causes artifacts and lockers to really pop into your eyes when you catch them.

Enemies themselves have a massive weakpoint multiplier, so you're still in the green.
The worst one is Giant Strikers with x1.5 head weakness.
That means that guns with the worst precision stat (usually ~x0.75) will deal like... +10% extra damage.
Its not NEGATIVE damage, but its nothing to bother with either.
If you're a High Cal user - just shoot the main body and leave head for someone who cares.
basically with some guns its not worth hittin headshots on most enemies, like hel rifle or yeah high cal
However there is an enemy type that does not have head weakness period.
But it applies to all guns, so...
All guns in base game are better to shot head

Yes and no. They are procedurally generated, but in 98% of levels there will be next to no variation in the level layout itself (just the placement of resources, keys etc. that move around).

just reading the wiki on how agro works... when clickers do the thing where they periodically glow, is that stage considered the soft alert stage? or is it when they start throbbing? basically what im trying to find out exactly is there are two clickers in front of me one is far off but within 15 meters. id i dome the one in front of me and the other one happens to be glowing at that moment would it become alerted from the long rane agro? and if i wait for it to stop glowing would it not be affected by that long range agro?

If another sleeper is glowing within 15 meters and has a line of sight on the sleeper being killed, it will wake up. This is the long range aggro.

Huh, I've had enemies not wake up after being killed even after waking up while being like 10 meters away

theres a grace period if a second one was already alerted nearby from the one you killed, so if theres 2 right next to each other for example and one further out, then when you kill the first one, the proximity agro will wake the other nearby one, and since there has already been a sleeper awoken, the internal cooldown starts meaning that for a short period specificallt the long range agro wont wake anything up
proximity agro will always wake up everything close by though
The long-range aggro can not happen if at least one enemy already woke (either by the proximity aggro or by the long-range aggro), and have a grace period of few seconds after that. It means that unlike the proximity aggro, the long-range aggro can only wake up a single sleeper. It also means having two sleepers clustered is the best setup to ensure no other enemy will be awoken while dispatching them.

the game engine uses seed values to randomly select and stitch together room tiles to form a zone, level designers reroll seeds until they get a zone they want
afaik they can then make alterations to the generated room layout, but I'm not familiar with the details
they still need to do a bunch of manual work to put content into the generated map
for players, the maps should never change, but there are a few rooms in a few levels in the game which will bug out and change between runs

For anyone running mods: I keep seeing that BepInEx and MTFO "remove vanilla progression" but what does that mean? I just booted the game with BepInEx and all the same rundowns and cosmetics are unlocked
it basically means running vanilla and modded in another instance with both having thei own progressions
You can use bepinex with some qol mods and it will still count for vanilla but especially MTFO will move it to modded instance
once you switch back to vanilla you will have your original unlocks back
ah ok, I saw something say i needed to remove a file from bepinex to make it work with vanilla progression. but maybe it's automatic or something. I see when i load scout playground (uses MTFO) it says MODDED in the lower right. Is that how I know if I'm not progressing in vanilla?
if u just install a qol mod with bepinex and mtfo comes with it, u basically launch vanilla and u can progress normally thru levels. u do get clears and cosmetics. what u wont get is achievements, unless u edit mtfo.cfg to enable them. then u get those too.

ive seen some people use certain filter commands on the terminal how do those work? like for example i saw something like “filter u e_21”
Each filter filters everything to things only containing that filter.
So only things that contain "U" and "e_21" would appear

It would show all the resources in the entire level. You could do LIST RESOURCES ZONE_123 to do just the resources in Zone_123

Full waves can only spawn if there is enough room for them. This generally means there has to be fewer than 5-10 enemies alive. If you keep those enemies alive, no new wave can spawn.
Most of the time those enemies are a bit threatening and you really ought to kill them, but if you're very near the end of a scan, it may be worthwhile leaving them alive as long as possible to try and block another full wave.
Be aware that the new rundown does mess with the command a little since some zones have names now

This is also why c-foam is kinda giga-busted. Leaves the enemies alive for a really long time, so no new ones get to spawn.

The problem is not having enough ammo and or tool for the secondary. Reactor eats it almost completely, especially if you are not doing well

Regular alarms don't need a spawn cap, the threat of enemies crashing your PC is what gives you the incentive to kill them.
i dont see how you can be actually low on ammo on R4D1
the zones have so much ammo even if you fully pull all the scouts at the end

You effectively get 7 zones full of resources for reactor itself, 1 zone with few resources, and then after you're done you have another zone full of loot + another zone with few resources
R4d2 is one of the few levels I'd replay indefinitely

Better bots dont affect damage as far as im concerner, they improve their aim, make them open lockers and prevent friendly fire (i think)
