Yes. You'll dodge like 1/10 attacks by getting out of range within the window. But you'll get hit by the other 9/10. Zig zagging away probably gets you hit by like 4 or 5 out of 10. Much better.
soft collision makes that not so ideal
It's pretty good, maybe like 1/10 hit on the run through. But it is only good if the other side of them is a nice place to be.
And yes, if they're too grouped the soft collision will make it much worse.
Id only ever do this if I plan on staggering the enemies before they lick

Depends on the experience level of the team. For an intermediate team average level length could be something like 50 minutes

Knowing the map and clearing rooms is usually the most time consuming part of expeditions, if you watch experienced players they almost never crouch unless its a giant.
I remember times when I’d spend 5-10 mins on a ||scout|| whereas nowadays I’ll sprint to those cheeks.

I would just wait for them to pull the tentacles back then smack them over the head. The first mission I played, I was very cautious and never stop crouching, but the second time I did the same level, I realized the sleepers would never fully aggro before I killed them, and when I came across a giant or two in the same room, I would just close the door, lay down a sentry, and open the door guns blazing lol. Idk if that's the right way to play but I worked for me so I'm not complaining.
I only died because we walked into a room and bishop fired a shotgun shot into the middle of the room for no reason
Scouts have I think 4 ways of taking them down?
1: Loud (Shooting it, recommend a high dmg weapon because if it doesn't die in 1 shot it'll go invuln)
2: C foam + Melee (C foam will freeze it, allowing you to hit it as much as you want)
3: Quiet/Melee (Safest option, hammer/spear is 1 tap to the head, whereas bat/knife require a occiput hit (back of the head))
4: Snipe it (Unreliable, but you can oddly silently kill a scout if you shoot far enough outside the scout room).
what does C-foam do? does it just freeze enemies?
Yeah, when they're frozen they won't be able to alert (but if they've been damaged, they will alert after they unfreeze)

Otherwise you can walk around them, shove them, shoot over their head, whatever, and they'll be none the wiser

Sometimes it's faster if the door has a digital lock on it and something big is coming for you - but otherwise just spend extra 10 seconds to open it properly.

Physical lock - smack it with your melee or shoot it. Hammer and bat break locks faster.
Digital lock - you do a hacking mini game.
There's also a consumable item called LOCK MELTER which... melts locks it is applied to. Quickly and silently - monsters won't even twitch.

Most wipes happen just through sheer power of exhaustion combined with the game slowly losing stability over time.
As it turned when one of our guys dropped on minute 80 - lobby dies after some time and no one can join or rejoin it after that. We couldn't even add the bot because host literally loses access to relevant buttons.. We had to finish the mission as 3. It was harrowing.
Most wipes actually happen because a random shooter decided to hit me, throwing my aim a good 90 degrees and filling a choke mod round into Bishop

As you get behind the enemy you can get up to x2 additional damage on any enemy.
Works with both guns and melee. Not turrets or mines.
Its based on your position relative to the enemy, not any sort of specific hitbox.
Are Dauda's voicelines broken? I've heard multiple reports that his voicelines don't work and in all my 6 months since starting this game I don't remember ever hearing him talk. I'm currently listening to his voicelines on youtube and I'm certain I've never heard them before which is a shame cuz they're really good.
Yes, Dauda's voice has been broken for a while now. Like 3-4 rundowns probably. Notably his responses and new pick up pings do not work.

If you're talking about left/right strafing and hitting sprint, then yes. The dodge used to be much bigger, but now it is quite small.

Does anyone know how to fix R1C1? Me and my 3 friends always make it to the reactor. Activate it. Then the whole game bugs out, timer freezes, enemies go invisible but still do damage. We haven't had a single problem on any other rundown. Even with a different host it still just does the same thing every time we get to the reactor and activate it. Help?

If you are talking about rundown 1 specifically this is also the case
The general rule of thumb is that higher letter is always harder or more complex somehow.
Although B3s or even B4s can sometimes rival C1 in overall difficulty.
It's not a hard rule, more so a guideline that the game breaks every so often.

what's the best way to deal with the long ranged enemies (the weak ones)?
DMR. Bullpup. Precision Rifle.
In general target their head, its more of a weakpoint for them than most enemies
Aim for the head. They take x5 damage from it.
And move to the side at the last second to dodge their projectile, it homes in on you
As with a lot of things in this game the answer you receive is "shoot better"

It is usually developers' responsibility to create such reason. Like balancing weapons for different situations and then creating those situations to encourage their usage.

But it's also just one of the strongest Main weapons in the game.

all these guns have their own use and way to play, dmr has the range and the dmg doubletap the oneshottin potential the rifle the forgiveness of headshots hel revo the pen but not so much the others range

There is no "individuality" here. It's the same gun. One of the two is just clearly better.

How do you explore a dark room with sleepers? am I supposed to flash the flashlight quickly or something?

If you shine your flashlight on a guy it will still take them 2 or 3 seconds to wake up
so sweeping around the room with your light isn't risky
Usually "flashing too long" is accidentally causing a double glow.
You have to be extremely goofy to accidentally wake a sleeper w/ a light.
i don't see how people are able to kill sleepers walking around (not crouching) and in the dark
They glow when they start clicking. Also they click.
Also, use your ears.
You walk towards the sound, hit head.
And have a reaction time faster than 500ms
u can also use glowsticks, they dont alert enemies :3
Like, I am usually going to stand walk and flashlight every part of the room that I haven't checked.
And I'll do that until I think I've found all of the enemies.
If stand walking causes a glow, you should also try to flash everything past that enemy to minimize downtime.
If you’re struggling to see enemy outlines in normal rundowns too with like.. regular ambient light, adjust your brightness a bit. Outside of the pitch black levels you can normally see the paler parts with ambient light before they glow, if only slightly

Also, some of your weapon lights will be better than the default light.
Some will also be worth, so just check which is best for your prefferred loadout.
Playing GTFO extensively. Other games with darkness/fog as modifiers to block vision have been easy and nothing compared to what I've dealt with in gtfo

It is a little wild that you can have a dark corner with an enemy hidden in it, where the dark corner is hiding the enemy because it's a foot away from two light sources that fully illuminate the entire area around that corner.

I think nuggies should have a good one, although it would've been made earlier when the game was slightly different
like what sets them off at what ranges
sometimes it feels like i can walk up to them without waking, other times they instantly activate
also the very inconsistent reactions to nearby enemies getting killed
... you trust steam guides?.

Their detection radius is ~10 meters in all directions (my eye range detection is crap).
They immediately wake if they hear sprinting - they even skip normal wake up animation I believe.
Gunshots and melee hitting objects (locks included) also immediately wake them up, but at least they play the animation.
While fully asleep - they do not sense crouching, but react to walking and lights by going into semi-aware state: glowing and clicking. They also sometimes enter that state randomly.
In this state they can sense even crouching. They will respond to more stimuli by "throbbing" and after about 3 strikes they will fully wake up, telegraphed by an animation and a scream.

Your eye detection range is ok. It's GTFOs ranging that's kind of fucked compared to other games.
Don't know what to tell you. IRL I detect range in human bodies where 1 body = 2 meters rounded.

They can still detect you when fully asleep. Their detection is just smaller.

no, i don't sprint unless far away from them
So killing an enemy right next to another one, they will always trigger, anything in that range will always trigger.
If an enemy is outside of that range, and they’re glowing, and you kill something, there’s a chance they can trigger. So unless you want them to wake up I would wait until everything is not glowing. However if you do want them to wake up, I’d recommend flashing them and walking into the enemy you want to kill before you hit them because it makes the long range aggro more reliable.

You can try to clear the first half of R7C3 alone, it will be very helpful for you to understand the aggro mechanism.

Just play normally, the knowledge should come with exposure unless you are reliably being exposed to some weird buggery.
