Getting through the shadow portion takes forever and then you have to do two alarms) I don’t think finding a way to shove a checkpoint into all the missions is really a good idea, but there are some I think need it.

I was just talking about the room before the apex. And it really sucks to be an hour and a half into a mission, get wiped over something stupid or just cause you didn’t know the level, then have to start over from the beginning. As I said I agree not all missions need one, but I think some should just to make them less frustrating

Yeah, but not everyone has tons of time to try and fail at hour (or two, or three) long missions over and over. It took me 4 weeks just to get past r2e1 cause I only had time to play on the weekend cause of work. It was just really off putting tbh
Maybe something like making checkpoints optional and having additional clear achievement similar to prisoner efficiency for not using them.
People who need it can use it to practice the harder parts of stages more (instead of restarting hour long runs everytime) before attempting a flawless clear, and people who want to keep things hardcore get a new badge to show off.
Not a bad idea tbh. Would even make it viable to throw a checkpoint on every level if they can be disabled by the host or chosen not to be used like the bulkhead receptacle

The reason seems to be enemy blood or disinfect. It goes away after a min or so (mostly)

My team was able to see them but they would not react. As the host there were no natural sleepers after resetting from the checkpoint, although enemies that spawn because of an event still appeared
This also happened to me a while ago but I thought it was a one-off, now I think I can replicate it

Tongue attacks can 'go around corners' when you're playing as client instead of host. Essentially, for the host you haven't gone around the corner yet, so you get hit, even though you're all the way around the corner on your end.
Gets substantially worse with higher ping.
honestly with R4 and R5 lacking checkpoints, just remove them from R6, R7, and do not add to R8

Created more problems that the devs can't fix nor has the time to do anything
It does seem like everyone kind of doesn't care about CPs now, especially if you've beaten every alt rundown so far.
They were a nice addition, but if they don't get fixed by R8, I doubt I'll really care.

I have a question because I’m a bit of a completionist. Which levels are impossible to do just overload/just secondary because one is locked in the other? If possible, could I get a list for further reference? I just found out on Alt R4B2 and B3 that overload is locked unless you go into secondary, are there many other levels like this?
the wiki can help you on R4, but nobody has added pages for the rundowns after that
one good tip is to query all the keys to see what rooms they are in, and do the math to figure out if some of them are locked behind other bulkhead doors
ive also kinda noticed that each object has its own set of numbers. idk how accurate that is, but ive noticed that if the main objective has areas like 4, 5, and 6, the secondary (and overload) have a different set of numbers (for example 87, 88, 89). I hope that makes sense lol. If I am correct (and there is a likelihood I am not) it can save you some time having to go to the bulkhead doors to check the zones
most often than not, optional objective zones have numbers either way higher or lower than main zones
no bulkheads always have different zone numbers from what i remember
main is 55 or 56, sec is 121 and ov 703
thats just a rule, i havent seen a sector w/o different zone numbers

if you see a key in a zone like 800 and you are in 25, you can be pretty sure its locked inside another objective
An additional thing that can help you figure out which way you have to go to not get locked out of an optional: the bulkhead DC for a layer must always be in the same zone as the door that accesses that layer

pro tip. if you swing before shoving you can then continuously shove the enemy, there will be no breaks in between you shove. this is vital for stun locking an enemy
you can "stunlock" with the bat but you have to time your swing more carefully

so you would not even be able to backshot it

Progression obviously is smth that can work well. Its essential for games with a kinda set path or a world to explore (see metroidvanias)

A new system doesn't have to take away from an existing one
thats why customization could def work
If they did that they would be criticized for it
but not progression/unlocks
And for the longest time people have excused rundown exclusive weapons and the existing weapon system because we expected something like it in the future
Yet now we have 4 or 5 smgs that practically are identical because they couldn't bother to implement a system where you can make the existing 5 with modifications of a single one

but thats different from unlocks
which imo for something like this are artificial replayability
The only times I've seen them actually put work towards this game was before the early access and before the r6 release
They made everything they were going to make and just enabled things during the early access
And they took the effort to make the game visually appealing for r6
They couldn't get a promised rundown system to work because of course it'd be too much effort to manually consistently update the game that way
I just haven't seen any proof of effort
