So what's this game about? I bought it a while ago but couldn't matchmake, thinkign it was a problemw ith my shitty ISP... but I upgraded to modern internet speeds now and I still can't matchmake. it looks like people don't really use the matchmaking to find groups?
@serene night Noone uses ingame matchmaking. Use the Discord lfg (looking for group)
There are channels for most regions
Is there any single player shit I should work on before hopping in with others?
You can play a bit with the bots to get some grasp of mechanics, but if you use #lfg-beginners you can find people to teach you

Are the logs different between the old rundowns and the alts? I didn't start playing until recently (about halfway into altR2 atm), and I wanna know if I missed out on some lore I should go look up.

it's not bad for the dmg, reload speed and clip
but it really struggles to hitstun enemies in any meaningful way
so anything tankier than small enemies in large packs may be an issue.
I started playing recently, so just a question about ALT rundowns.
So basically its like a "enhanced" version of old rundows. How actually diferent they are to their non alt counterparts. Can't find a straightfoward answers/comparsion anywhere
they change some rooms, they add so enemies, but generally they are very faithful to the og
new enemies really only appear in one two or not a single lvl in a rundowm
the biggest change is just bein able to use weapons that werent available
if you haven't played the old ones, it'll be hard to notice a difference. rooms are moved around, you have more gun selection

They are mostly same with very minor differences. Devs did not originally though of bringing them back, so this is the best you'll get.
I did hear reports that enemies that were not present in originals have been spotted in ALT version, but if anything that just makes them more exciting.

out of curiosity question, is there any way to constantly avoid strikers' tounge attacks? Jumping behind them seems to do the trick most of the times but it becomes more of a problem when trying to kite a group of them
moving to the side generally has the best chance of you avoiding the attack hitbox

maybe, havent gotten to it but happens on a1 too and a2
if u look at the ceiling and see weird, fleshy coccons, the enemy of the area respawn

It is, it's one of the enemies that make that happen
They can't damage you but you can clearly see them on some of the ceilings in the rooms sleepers respawn in

try to not use sentries for the first few waves to conserve tool, shouldn't be too hard to defend wave 1/2 without sentries
don't put every sentry at the same exact spot to make sure they don't waste ammo on the same ennemy
if you're still short on tool you can swap toolkits with med/ammo to bring them closer to where you are defending for easier access
hold at the end of bridge
focus hybrids during the last waves
shoudln't be too hard even with bots

Rundown specific weapons were a good choice IMO, since they meant that while the loadout isnt that big, its still unique every time. Now we just have too many guns to the point where some become useless (SMG). While i support the return of old rundows, i think they should still make a weapon cycling system (e.g. every month the weapons are changed)
The only thing i dont want to go is the Hel Rifle. I love the hel rifle 🙂

how do you know which part of the map sleepers will come from in an alarm?
It's generally two rooms away from where you are
some alarms have specific spawn locations i believe
General rule of thumb - they try to spawn 2 rooms away from you.
You're in room 0.
Any room next to it is room 1.
Any room next to those rooms are rooms 2.
They can spawn in any one of rooms #2, based on RNG as far as I'm concerned.
There are a couple of exceptions to this rule, usually arbitrary ones. But they're rare so don't worry about it.

I think the real case of gun over-overlap isn't in the ARs but in the SMGs. PDW, SMG and heavy SMG all do the same thing.

cause I've seen on rundown 7 before the first alt update that there were cosmetics only unlockable by completing certain amounts of secondary objectives and now it's just gone
It was mostly the case during R6, because the Cosmetics were a new addition to the game
Namely the palettes for completing all Secondary or all Overload objectives
Now you get a reward for the first Main sector completion, for each expedition

reactors i'd bring a sniper and give the bots all automatics/machineguns
they can't handle precision / high damage weapons
AR + an MG is the best loadout for bots, bring lots of sentries, and just try to kill the enemies before they get close to the bots
If the enemies get close they'll start going for melee no matter what /shrug

there is a glitch where it becomes a permanent black spot in your vision
and never goes away
I've had it happen a couple of times and I was convinced this was like my character just going mentally unstable and have halucinations or something
the bigest one so far was starting with a yellow color and then my whole screen was black
had to wait like 3 minutes before it was back to normal

Did the recent updates make enemies easier to trigger? Me and my group had a hella hard time last night trying to set up some spear kills
It was also like aggro distance from a stealth spear kill was increased too.

Odd, in our experience it's awesome
u cant run with it, it has a bit less base dmg [so u need headshots, then it becomes a lil bit more dmg but still not worth]
and has i think a same charge as hammer, if not a lil slower
overall spear has better alternatives
But killing the bigs and feeler guys is easier
becasue the spear is basically only good at killing big boys
everything else is worse
it is a great weapon for learnin, or even if a level is only and exclusively stealth

We've been doing 3-man takedowns with the spear on the big guys. Head tilts back, one spears head, 2 spear back.
that also works with hammer
3 hammers to the back, 1 occi two back or two occi hits
and bat can easily solo
But you get increased distance with the spear
but you don't need the increased range

You can also just stay crouched and not hit head.
You 3-shot w/ perfect back multi on hammer, and it's not very hard to hit trade for more damage.
You can also pre-stand.
