Generally,
-It's easiest to learn the game on R7 down to B1, R1 down to C1, and R2 down to B4.
-A step up from there includes the rest of R1, R2 down to C2, R3 down to C1, and R7 down to C1 (Main only), R7C1 arguably being the hardest expedition here.
-Everything else tends to have either a much higher complexity or is leaning into being fairly hardcore content.
Ray are you gonna recommend R6 to learn when it comes out?
Although a step up could definitely include some of R4, I'd just need to think about what I'd include.

we have completed r1 fully. didn't feel too difficult, but we're now stuck at a lot of other levels in the c tier

r7c1 and r7b3 tried and failed, r4 not attempted, r3 never failed but aren't that far yet, r2d1 and r2c2 died multiple times

If you're not doing PE, R4 definitely has some accessible content down to at least B3, but that will depend on your goals.
It sounds like you're actually pretty far along already, you just have to be able to pass harder content.

As much as I hated most of BX, it didn’t have any lore scans
I think extension was still p bad tbh, but it at least made some decent minor improvements.
Less overabundant ammo, less stopping your progress for audio.

But I do feel like level design really popped off in R6
To finish this point quickly, there's not really a way forward besides looking to improve at the game, especially if particular mechanics or scenarios are the reasons you're getting stuck.
Other than making progress in R3, I wouldn't really jump around for the sake of finding easier content (despite R4 having material), I'd recommend jumping around for variety instead.
If you need to take time to practice something rather than make progress directly, that can also be a good idea.
It can be somewhat hard to improve at the game if it's not an explicit goal, but that is your best shot at beating harder levels consistently.
Probably try to focus on the levels you find the most fun/least tedious as well, as that should make it easier to progress first and then take those skills into the less interesting content.
That too, but I think my main issues with R6's extension are that:
-The lore-related audio is still intrusive (and somewhat out of place), despite it not gating your progress.
-There is a lack of harder content, the best levels/objectives being BX and CX Main.
DX was kind of lame and not very interesting until the very final section.
CX Secondary was a joke.

I feel like R7 has some of the highest quality content for the game ever.
I guess I’m suffering from the same thing I just mentioned 
Bugs kind of ruined my experiences on a lot of levels in R7
B2, B1, C2 in general just felt very drawn out and long, with no real reason for being so long (B2 especially)
C1 was harrowing for several reasons, our first clear we used one checkpoint, our second attempt we got terrible RNG in the last zone spawns and spent 3 hours trying the Z scan
C3 we haven’t touched since like 2 weeks of bug ridden attempts
D1 is D1, and E1 is rough because we usually run a bot
D2 and B3 were my highlights of the rundown
Unfortunately it just didn’t feel very good to play, whereas R6 felt fun and rewarding to do, even when we struggled, R7 just felt painfully annoying and tedious
It might just be my preference for harder content, but it felt like every PE was good shit this rundown, my least favorite being B3 for sure.
Funny, B3 was probably my second favorite, very close to C2. As much as C3PE is cool for us in theory, C3 just turned into “fuck up once? Kite or die”
I think our most mediocre experiences were on D2 and E1 for sure, and E1 was partly just getting stuck for a while rather than the level not being engaging enough (although that was also a problem).
And D2 and E1 have both improved over time w/ repeat attempts imo.
D2 is the one level I will always be happy to come back to

E1, still haven’t beaten

It's probably a mix of improving at the game and general deterioration of R6 issues not getting resolved, and then R7 letting those issues get slightly worse while introducing new issues that aren't resolved.

We had done it a few days prior as a test after wiping on B3 in extreme. We dropped in and there was Alpha fog instead of infection fog because of a bug from dying in Alpha on B3

Also I think scouts are desynced again from host to client because I had an incident with Loaffy this morning
It retracted tentacles and I ran towards it, it’s tentacles came back out from below it while it was standing straight, but Loaf saw it bending over
Idk if this is normal but I seem to remember this being fixed in R6
P sure that's just related to transitioning quickly from tentacle to retract to tentacle.

The old desync was that scouts behaved completely differently host vs. client.
Fucking Hackett got stuck in a wall with a cell and wouldn’t move until we told him to drop it
And scouts bending forward would very frequently not make it across a P2P connection.

theres a mostly well thought out gun tierlist. But it doesnt matter THAT much
tools and how you play with what you have matters a ton
Anything that they can reliably hits enemies with. But that level is mostly mid-to-long range fighting.
HEL Rifle (special) is great. SInce enemies will rush towards you in a straight line - you can easily kill multiple enemies in a single shots.
HEL Gun also, for the same reason
For mains: HEL Revolver is a no brainer, otherwise something mid range like DMR, any of the assault rifles, etc
Hell, even Bullpup will work provided your teammates can cover you during your 12.000 years reload
I think the value of a tier list is going to depend on where you're at in the game skill-wise and how well you understand the meaning of the tierlist.
Knowing the best/worst Mains is one thing, but knowing whether Mains synergize with Specials is a totally different problem.
Same thing for Specials, but it's about knowing how the contents of a level should bias your selection.

Carbine synergizes with everything. Done. 
I think most people, or at least a lot of people, don't tend to think of Carbine and HEL Revo as self-sufficient Mains, though.

It's a funny way of saying that it uses a hyper potent propellant that causes projectiles to over penetrate

Anything that has "HEL" in its name has the target penetration properties, as in: it doesn't stop after hitting first mutant and proceeds further, potentially hitting multiple aligned targets.
As far as I know HEL properties have no particular correlation with any others stats.
Some of them require charging, some don't...
Some have bonkers recoil, some don't...
Damage varies from light scratches (HEL Autopistol) to hard punch (HEL Rifle)...
As for lore / logistics of it - ask in #gtfo-lore , I believe they had conversation about that before.
revolver vs high cal?
High cal seems like a better revolver since it does more damage per shot while having same ammo capacity

high cal is real nice for that, save ammo just cap the giants one in the front, run behind and two in the back
revolver gets 18.37 vs high cal 11.69 bullets per refill
This means if you have good aim revolver will easily outperform high cal vs smalls. High cal has the advantage vs bigs and scout tho.

As said below, high cal is a low skill revolver. Its a good entry weapon since it does most things decently well and has enough ammo to shoot smalls with. Revolver has a higher peak
its cuz pre nerf high cal was legit a slightly different choke mod stat wise and between it and pump shotty in terms of wave clear
then again, revo can hammer through it way quicker :>
high cal isn't the worst against chargers, shoot and quickly tap with primary once or twice, but yeah not ideal

So for reactor missions (like R4D1), when the countdown ends and you are given time to put the code in, sometimes I find that enemies are still spawning. Especially on the later codes, is this intentional and how can I know when this will happen?
on some level it would be intentional, but normally its bc a wave was spawning before the reactor wave end and they are 2 room far away from u
better way to say it is they are late to the party by about 1 min
In R4D1, what can happen is the earlier wave spawn really far from where you defend and hit the cap. Thus the later wave only spawned after it have space

You could long range alert the giant by killing smth else and having him glow. That way him waking up wont wake mom
- it isnt 100% reliable (need to watch out for no other guy (or mom specifically) glowing
- he MAY step out into mom zone and scream

Why wouldn't long-range be possible?
If gunshots go through all of the other aggro checks, and it works the same way as other hard alerts, then the nearest glowing enemy (within range and with LoS) will wake up for each aggro.
I think I've heard of it happening, as well, although I assumed it must have been something else at the time.
you could check this by going into a level with 2 closeish rooms, wait for an enemy 2 rooms away to glow then make the enemy in the room between you and said glowing wake up by shooting (without the shot itself waking up the guy 2 rooms away obviously)

The precision rifle recoils for the damage Ray gets sent, so you need to aim for the body if you want to hit the head

most of the time the ones you want to shoot end up being in large rooms
so its honestly pretty common to get screwed over by it

but some stam rules. out of combat you have a different base line thank in combat. actions like sprinting, jumping and swinging a charged melee cost stam and reset the cooldown to start regening stam. and shoving just costs stamina.

I have a question regarding the rainstorm that occurs in the intro before the drop into garganta ingame, is that just a cinematic thing? Since every rundown there was always a storm, no change in weather? Is it a tropical storm thats always raging? A friend was thinking it was due to something at the facility keeping it storming.

when they added teleporting it was jarring it was always sunny whenever we teleported
but whenever we drop it just happens to be during intense rain

To be fair: we are teleporting to a different planet that was completely ravaged by sleeper infestation, so it always being a desert makes some sort of sense (we even had night ops in there).
As for the storm during drop... Well first of all: Garganta is standing in an ocean. They dug a hole into the ocean to build that thing, so water is in close proximity always.
And two: if we were to really wiggles this out - we could assume the opposite. Maybe we are specifically deployed only during storms? Maybe the weather has an effect on the sleepers, makes them more docile for one reason or another? That could be something interesting to explore.
But yeah, i wouldn't mind randomised drop weather either. Change skybox, remove rain, is it that hard?

How are weakspot hits handled with burst fire weapons? Can for example a Striker head pop on the first bullet of a burst and have the others miss or will they in the same burst be able to hit it for a short time but further bursts will not?
the recoil burst isnt that high to be honest
the only burst that is so stupid is burst cannon
aim for the head and u should hit all the shot with a little bit of recoil control
The answer is both, depending if you're client or host
For host the head will instantly pop and disappear
For client the head will linger for a bit longer so more bullets can hit it

The rundowns used to be like seasons, when the next one released the previous became unavailable.
After rundown 7 they started releasing remastered versions starting from rundown 1, so rundown 5 will be re-released next, then R6, then they will do R8 which will be new to everyone

If you are doing solo-friendly strats, you just have to get codes faster.
Even solo in OG in the dumb af spot in spawn, you had enough time to blast through and get code+resources.

Listen to your character dialogue, it's the only way to be sure.

If music hasn't stopped, you should make an effort to find the enemy.

They will reach you faster if you go to them.
If they're not in spawn, and they don't show up South, they're probably taking their time North.
And you should just go North and kill them, then go back.

It's clear to me that on code #3 and then subsequent waves on #4, there were either late spawns, or stuck spawns which fucked me over
And it's clear to me that these late spawns are not your main problem. They're annoying, and something that's easy to point to, but there are very clearly other factors at play. I.e. taking too long, not recovering unexpected alerts well, being in a position where alerts can cause considerable time loss, etc.
I'll admit, code 4 is probably the hardest section of R2D2 w/ bots, at least imo...
But if your goal is passing code 4 consistently, then late waves probably aren't the thing you should focus on.

when you insta pull alarm you will quite often get backspawns from the reactor if you open the door once alarm is over
