so... my friend just has the aim of a stormtrooper then. XD last night i ran out of ammo and decided to knife a big shooter to death while they used their sniper rifle to deal with the other big shooter that was nearby. managed to kill mine before they killed theirs
but yeah. knife also has massive downsides (anything not smalls) but its upside is big enough FOR its speciality

I see bat the least but that's just me. I do think it's the second best melee.
i personally never see people using knife but thats mainly because i have a small set of friends that even play. and one of my friends (the stormtrooper one) mentioned that they rarely see people using knife as well.

Most likely doing them wrong. 95% of Alarms in this game are easily doable with the right strategy. Unless youre extremely starved on resources you should get by each one easily

they basically have aimbot
give on bio at least
3 bots can easily clear most early levels as long as the player loots/aggros/moves and starts alarms
turrets, never give bots mines
they use bio the second the cooldown is off, you dont have to tell them to do anything
but you have to command them to place their sentry gun/pick it up
once you practice its relatively easy to manage it

it means you've completed that stage that number of times for each objective
so if theres a 1, you've done it once
would it need to be completed it multiple times?
for most levels, no
some of the levels have additional objectives: Secondary and/or Overload. doing those each has thier own number in the bracket. you can either do them all in one run, or you can just do the main, and then do it again for the optional objectives
but those are only in R7 as of now

hey so got another question regarding knife... wiki says it has 5.5 dmg with a 2x multiplier on sleeping enemies. + 1.5x for precision... how would the math work there? 5.5 x 2 x 1.5? or?...

rule of thumb is to wait for tendrils to extend before melee'ing the scout just so you have a still target (helpful since you need to hit the back of the head with the knife)
you can still melee a moving scout but it takes slightly more skill

Yes they can, they can also wake up from mouse movement, keyboard typing, or having any type of physical contact with any hardware of your PC. The meta to win the game is to uninstall it 
well. knowing i had a full second to react to it helped a LOT and i managed to get my first Scout Knife kill ^^
they can, but only if a teammate complains about your keyboard noises first

They still shoot 4 times but it's incredibly fast, like a carbine burst more or less

yeah choke mod fire rate is incredibly high, just gotta click fast
If you set up an auto clicker with the choke mod you can shoot all 4 shell at the same time

it's a value-add, makes giant kills faster and offers the capability of double-tapping charger scouts from the front
also can help get damage into mommies, though the clip of a pump shotty is preferable there
people have also argued that it helps the uptime of the gun, which is obviously hamstrung by the uncancellable reload
but yeah, I don't regard the firerate of the choke shotty as central to its capability mix
Hi, Our group is having an issue with r7d2. and im sure it could be that were just not good enough. but im wondering if were doing it mechanically wrong. we nab the key from the room with the scouts. dont kill any. then we open the blue door. race to the blood door. do the blood door. then 2 of us take our time opening everything in the next room. placing the foam tripmines all over( were aware we may be misusing these and they have a specific purpose). then 2 of us go get the code while the 2 others hold position at the bridge leading to the first blood door. once we have the door unlocked we all collapse to the back and rush to the next blood door. after we clear that. we go to one of the siderooms for a battery were unclear which side is the better side or if it matters. weve been in both so we know which special enemy is in each. ultimately there just ends up being too many enemies for us to keep up. any thoughts or tips would be great. thanks.

R7D2 for experienced players is Easy.

You only need one good player to beat R7D2. The other players just have to defend while the one good player gets the stuff needed to get past the door
So while the code location is determined by the terminal, the cells aren't. There are 3 cells, with each zone having at least 1, with a possibility of the second cell being in either zone. You just need to decide what you would rather deal with, a tank or a mother? Whatever side you open up determines what enemy spawns for the defenders. Personally for less experienced players and in general for the level design, a mother is significantly easier to deal with as you can just place a cfoam mine underneath her and gun her down. Try your best not to wake up anything in both the code rooms and the cell rooms so you don't get pincered. The entire schtick of R7D2 is that it puts ALL the pressure on the people who are stealthing the rooms; if they fuck up, 9 times out of 10 the runs over with. There's enough supplies that the defenders can just sit and shoot for a long long time. Take your time, get the required items and move forward. R7D2 is simple in concept, just requires a good execution, especially on the stealthers part

can you elaborate on this? does just being in the bridge room ebfore the blood door spawn more enemies? theres less that spawn if you go 1 room further in?
to add on. is that a common mechanic? or is it kind of just a weird thing that happens on that level for some reason? or do waves get lesser, everytime you cross a blood door?
if you are on the bridge when a door opens for some reason it will spawn lots of charger giants and shadow giants. this doesnt happen often but entering and opening doors has event triggers on them if 10cc chose to add something to that

imo it'd have to be Insurgency sandstorm or Tarkov. But in terms of GTFO. Shotguns would be like inbetween choke spread / pump shotgun spread
Range wise choke shotguns 15m is alright enough taking into account pellet spread
The reasoning I say this is because insurgency and tarkov have more realistic shotgun ranges but are a little too accurate for the ranges they can kill at. But they also arent stupid cod turn shotgun into a sniper type shit.
I think half life had the most balanced shotgun. Always the first I think of.
Needs close range, pellets don't just dissappear and double take alt mode was great. Not too good, not too bad, just right in the middle.
As opposed to shotguns that have their pellets dissappear into the vortex after 10m or getting reliable kills from 20.

Bullpup is literally gated by it's long reload
Its not bad, only 2 secs of downtime
Otherwise you have good timing with your group to cover the reload

Hey I'm brand new to the game and have a question. Should i start in the ALT//:R1 or R7? i figure R1?
all the parts of aR1 are more straight forward as well, triggers for alarms get more complicated as you go deeper into R7
r1 so you arent completely overwhelmed. if you get stuck on anything in R1, you will get stuck much earlier in r7.
as the missions in general are much much longer in r7.
r1 is also a tad easier, but not inherently because its a rundown lower on the number list
personally i think r1 is a walk in the park by comparison to r7.
its also significantly shorter tbh.
are we expecting any other alt rundown to knock aR1 off this podium? i hear R3 is a step up and R4 and R5 are both tough.
R2 is longer, are we expecting feeling like it will be easier than R7?

A1 didn’t crush you super hard, so I got hooked in and died on B1 to the class V
Realized it was kind of hard, got some friends

We probably wouldn’t have stuck with R5 bc of the difficulty spike

Are they really still implementing FOMO-type content to incentivize playing it? I love the game and want it to succeed, but when you work long hours only to miss certain things like masks (or even in this case, the color palette) just kills any motivation to continue playing.
Not to complain, I just really want to know why this is their approach.
because content is as sparse as water in the sahara desert, patches come once in a blue moon. so their only way of defibrilating an ounce of life into this game is to drop limited time cosmetics to encourage the less-invested players that dont already play the game for fun to come back to try to retain some interest until the next drop of content leaks out for the community to eagerly lap up

it detect you way closer when crouch vs when standing
Walking causes sleepers to go from resting to searching if in the cone of detection

I.e. crouching is better for stealth but won't make you invisible
walking sound is louder than crouching sound

crouch, walk run
crouch doesnt make any sounds so you can sneak to enemies
walking makes sounds and will alert enemies if you walk while they are glowing
running aggros them immediately
crouch, walk, sprint, parkour, bunnyhop. Enjoy the freedom!

note that enemies sometimes glow on their own
the distances for walking and crouching are the same, its just crouching doesn't push them from totally asleep, to clicking.
besides that they are the same

is there any way to remove/silence the voice lines from the team whilst still hearing the story voice lines over the comms? the dialog volume seems to affect both and I can't stand the friendly AI giving away info and repeating cheesy dialog, so ideally I want to remove just the teams voice lines. Any way of achieving this?
