Alright nice, this is an issue I've encountered for a few patches now. If a slot is free in a lobby and a player joins an in progress descent, while the other players are currently in infectious fog and using a fog repeller, the newly spawned player will not be under the effect of the fog repeller and seemingly never will be no matter what is done

#

I've only ever encounter this under those exact circumstances, so Im not sure whether or not it's tied to directly spawning in the fog, or spawning in repelled fog

So essentially, the player will spawn and get infected by the fog and the repllers will never stop it

setting the game to 1440p causes frequent black screens (for about 3-4 seconds) mid game. this seems to happen more frequently during action heavy sections (during an alarm or when fighting enemies). putting it back to 1080p seems to fix it (for now), but i'd really like to be able to play at 1440p and i'm fairly certain my pc can run it. does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?

@wise mist Just finished going through them. Lots of events for issues connecting to the steam API. This could be due to an issue with the Steam app on your computer, your computer, modem, router, ISP, firewall blocking it. I would start at this places. Have you ever been able to connect to the game and if so when?

Basically restart Steam, see if that helps, if not restart your computer, modem, and router and check again. See if you can use a different internet connection like a hotspot from your phone. Check if there's any firewalls blocking you. See if you can try a couple different VPN's and set the host region to US, could be something with your ISP blocking it. Also try changing your region on Steam. Try a different computer if you can, and maybe reinstall Steam, however I think you have to reinstall your apps if you do, so double check that first.

so either my RTX 3090 is busted, or are there some performance issues with the new rundown 4? Most places are great, solid 150 to 200 fps throughout at 1440p and maxed graphic settings, but I dropped down to 40 FPS when we had 3 of the auto sentrys blasting away at a horde of sleepers all at once. Anyone else get something similar like that?

Does anyone have an idea as to why my GTFO might be having "catches" where it freezes for a second or two at most and then works as expected again? Does anyone know of any tips or tweaks to increase FPS? I'm broke with a 7 year old OC, got a i7 4770k that's overclocked to 4.4Ghz, then I have the GTX 970 4GB (tho it's 3.5GB VRAM with this model), and then I have 8GB of RAM. I average around 40 FPS, at heaviest I go down to 30-35 FPS. I get this FPS with about every graphic settings turned to lowest. My GPU usage is 95-100% at all times, CPU usage is around 30-40%.

Hi, Im not sure if this has already been reported but I've been having multiple games where people are freezing and disconnecting in R4B1 right at the end before the last door. Last night I had a game where 2/4 members crashed and the host was freezing. They also mentioned they have met other people that crash there as well. So have I, which made me feel it had something to do with the game and not just random.

We freezed up while pressing tab or coming close to the last door before extraction. On R4B1 extreme.
I'm not sure how to access my error logs to send any helpful information.

It was the last game.

I crashed and restarted the game and came back in, had a 5min loading drop as the host was still freezing, once he stopped freezing, we managed to load in. Before that we had an issue where none of us could hear any sound.

Sure I was just afraid no one reported it and the devs were unaware of this at all. Im completely satisfied with the game, we all managed to load back in and get a complete as well so we were all relieved.

But I would imagine the despair some might feel if the host wasn't patient enough to wait for his game freezing and just clicked close application when it says its not responding, forcing the game to close, right on the extraction door.

delete the file from there, the game will make a new one with default settings. we don't want to just change back to defaults as omething could be corrupt in the file

my guess then is something is funky with your clipboard in Windows. I've seen it before in my tech support days where the clipboard just doesn't work in some applications. it's usually not anything on the application side but usually something with windows not setting or managing it properly. it's hard for us to debug this one as there's no repro steps on how to break the clipboard.. best i can recommend is alternate options like hosting the lobby yourself, inviting via steam friends list, built in matchmaking, etc.

Well if you check app data a log file could be taking up space, or could be screenshots accidentally being saved. The only two folders the game has in app data is under 10 chambers in locallow an s roaming iirc

Hello I have a problem, when I enter the game some sounds are not heard is like missing in the game, the initial kinematics or the main menu music, none of that is heard. When entering a game, the descent part is heard nothing, literally nothing but the same silence as heard in the menu, when entering the gameplay you hear things like ambient music but the recharge sound does not work like many others. Game just kicked me back to rundown screen, said reconnecting to host - I was hosting so couldn't reconnect to myself (obviously).
Then team mates slowly one by one got kicked back to rundown screen.
Is this a known issue?.

If there are network issues like with steam and the game can't find a suitable host it will go back to the lobby.

The last time I played GTFO was during rundown 2, and had no issues then. But on this rundown 4, I get this stuttering effect where the game just freezes briefly for a few seconds and this happens maybe once every 10 or 15 minutes, any idea how i might fix this or if anyone else is experiencing this?

A trick that is worth tryin: Change resolution to 720p (1280x720p). Restart game, set it back to 1080p (1920x1080p) I know, sounds stupid, but can help in some cases

I had the issue with game crashing (respectively freeze and only popup "gtfo.exe is not responding" shows up) at the start screen many times and tried some troubleshooting. Because it didn't help me, to delete the mentioned files and reinstalling the game, verifying the steam- data, deleting the temporary files, to disable every overlay, updating the whole system or adjust the graphic card.

First: this happens only in the start screen.
Second: If a friend invites me, the start screen will be skipped and I can play the game normally.
Third: I uninstalled many programs, because I thought it could help.
Finally: I uninstalled Acronis True Image and I could start the game without "friend help".

Maybe this will help another gamers at troubleshooting!

Hi, a friend of mine and i just started playing GTFO today. He's been having issues with his map though, the 'walls' aren't showing (black border around the map/walls). Is there a way to fix this? He changed the CPU culling workload which seems to work for one round but as soon as we started a new one the problem reoccurred .

Just passing along some findings, 1) I experienced a game with matchmaking when loading into the rundown A1, one player was invisible to me but i could still hear him and play with him "he was killing things but couldn't see him. Also, push to talk does not work when using the terminal.

EDIT :- Problem was resolved by verifying the integrity of game files on Steam, for some reason I had a corrupt file, steam re-downloaded and everything's fine now.
If you are facing the same issue verifying game files should do the trick.

Hi all. I really love this game, but echoing the thing Tookie brought up about the Hud Overlay/underlay: The way my brain processes visual/spatial information - this effect makes me instantly nauseated, to the point where I cannot look at the screen straight on, or for more than about a half a second without feeling queasy. Would it be at all possible to add an option to disable this, or at least set it so all the text skews the same direction, and not variable towards the center of the screen?

Restart your pc, sometimes other programms can "occupy" the microphone.
Also check if it's set up correctly and that the voicechat buttons work. There also always a chance that there's a bug that occurs. But Restart is really an easy fix for the most stuff
