yes and no because you can just choose to not put checkpoints in your level, but also for plugin sake it might require you to work around checkpoints if the plugin would apply to broad levels of play like a bugfix
also worth mentioning that late joining an already in-progress game is effectively like a checkpoint
in vanilla during certain expeditions this has certain effects like eternally hearing an alarm/error going off even if that is no longer true or has yet to be true, which is why InGameJoinFix exists

Absolutely. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of bugs I've had including checkpoints in my rundown, which is why I eventually decided (for difficulty reasons as well) to completely exclude checkpoints in D-tier onward.
There's still some people who can't checkpoint on certain levels of mine because it softlocks them & there's nothing I can really do about it because it only happens under certain circumstances & I cannot replicate it on my end.

If you get more people like this, start recommending them hirnu's PointBlank to disable all but the bioscans. I'm really glad it exists for these edge cases where simply scanning for the checkpoint (for the saving of data) causes desync, let alone restarting from one
I mentioned it in the tech support forum the other week, PointBlank is kind of niche but it fills an important one. You literally cannot play a fair handful of levels in the game if your main playgroup's combined internet just doesn't allow checkpoints to function

My favorite is when you reload checkpoint & get stuck in an infinite loop of the checkpoint reloading every 3s, effectively softlocking you as you can't even exit the game in those 3 seconds unless you have the mod that enables click rather than click & hold
Or when half the team is res'd while the others are stuck halfway across the map where they died, and you have to wait for their clients to catch up & be dragged back to the CP scan (which is always at 97% when this happens so you typically can't even progress until they come back)

yep PointBlank just says "nope" to all of that. In the interest of timing for combat and possibly WEs of the level dev, the checkpoint scan still happens but it's just a fancy looking team scan now so it should drastically minimize checkpoint related issues

enemydetection isn't turned off when restarting from checkpoint
