usually enemies take up a combination of both the shortest path and the one with least resistance, never going through extra doors but if one doors closed and the other isnt in the same room they reroute
i believe foam doesnt do anything- its just a check if the doors closed i think, or at least it has about the same effect
but if enemies still get too close to a door, they will be glued to it
