For me personally the game just became very stale and boring. I had the most fun in the alpha, beta and release of R1. R2 and R3 were also ok, but everything after that just felt kinda 'ehh' at best. The game kinda lost its charm for me, but I still find myself coming back to it on occasion, do a few runs before putting it back in the shelf for another year.
