So the are 2 different kinds of contacts lenses that help you see if you have bad vision (there are also 2 different kinds of vision, short sighted where you can only read things that are close to your face and the other i don't remember but you can only read stuff from far away. this is because of the shape of the eye either being streached out into a (==) shape or a (=) shape. Normal eyes are just spheres.) With hard contact lenses they are made to rest around the iris of the eye covering the part where light goes into your eye feeding that message to your brain, they are used to mold the eye back into the correct shape and have diffrent treatments depending on the severity or type of shape of the eye. You would where them at night resting on your back so that gravity pushes down on them and molds your eye in your sleep. Then when you wake up that mold will last out through a day or 2 depending on how good the treatment is. However they are much more expensive because not only do you need to have them machined into the near perfect lens for the person you would also need to get things such as solution and lube to keep them in good clean condition. They would also get a deep clean every month or so .

Soft contact lenses don't do this as they are a 1 use thing because they are hard to contain and are easy to recycle. they are much much larger than the hard contact lenses because they need to "anchor" onto something, this something being the inside of your eyelids or your eyeball its self. however since they are very flexible they can not mold the shape of your eye instead there are "sets" of soft contact lenses as it would be cost inefficient to make all the different treatments. But this dose mean that they are much much harder to get into your eye itself as well as taking them out. you can use things such as tweezers or just use your fingers to pinch them out. they also tend to get stuck underneath people eyelids and can cause infections leading to

people losing there eyes
