The Matchmaking system was never really 'accepted' by most of the community. - And the small percentage of players that used it commonly reported encounters with trolls and hackers. It's far more efficient to just pick a VC and look for people to join.
In regards to player numbers, they tend to drop quite substantially a few weeks after a Rundown releases for obvious reasons. Wish they had brought the old Rundowns earlier, or hadn't gotten rid of them to begin with.
