video and image editing does have issues for sure ill never debate that, but games and modding you are insane for thinking its worse, its only worse for inexperienced users. the more time and effort to learn the OS the more you learn and the better it gets at setting up wine and proton etc. the only caviate to that i will give is non standardized modding via no launcher with like no dlls etc. if you gotta personally compile it yourself like some wild shit (witcher 3 as a example) that can be a couple hours of work but 99% of the time its just learning how proton works and how your system works.

a graphics card has a set of drivers and systems. this can then be manipulated via certain packages etc a game has, using dif scaling methods or res or other various reshades etc is up to the user to config in the back end or via third party software. it has nothing to do with linux the issue with linux is just learning how to slot stuff together, file directories and what needs to go where, wine fixes and proton variations. its complicated only because its a different process then windows. but when you learn it, its as if you used a file explorer to drag and drop. dlss is a upscaler that requires a game to support it via certain resolutions etc. you can go and do your own tweaking but it will require extra effort OR launch options etc. but all of this is just up to you
your card is yours not windows you can do with it what you want given time and knowledge base. any card can do anything if given time and frames lol

Honestly speedruns arent that hard to get into. You can just pick a level you like, maybe something easier like an A or B tier and then just keep trying to improve your own time. And then if you feel like you are stuck theres always other runs and the speedrun server where you can ask for advice
