there's no arguing with the current state of this game's speedrunning anyway, the tools are brought by the ones who run the most and the ones who moderate the most for the speedrunning, I'm sure decisions and morality are in question but the conflict between the opinions of whether permission of using mods that are now allowed from the people themselves and the extensive decryption of seeds should or should not be allowed are the separation between the two groups

-speedrunning relies on getting a good run to play it
-the rng is getting the level seed, the skill is playing it
-with better skill you lose less time when playing it/you can get a better time on a given seed than a worse team, or hit your benchmark time on a greater proportion of runs
-you tend to get more runs more quickly- this is a function of having 4 people resetting with macros and a virtual machine(? something of the sort?) with tgb running a 5th account to search for seeds in the background

so yes it makes logical sense
